Hello.
I want to try to install ACS server for windows to check how this is working with Microsoft AD. Does anyone know where i can download an evaluation version of Cisco ACS Server for Windows ?

The ACS version for Windows is no longer available. The product is EOL/EOS:

The product was replaced with a Linux based version (5.x) and it is a lot easier of a product to install and manage.

Cisco ACS Server

I have at present a Cisco ACS server 3.3. I want to upgrade the server to latest version and also cluster it with another one so that we could have a redundant infrastructure as if one fails the other one takes over ..

Hi,
The Latest version is ACS 4.1. You can upgrade from 3.3.3 build 11 directly to 4.1.
Then you can install another ACS 4.1 on different machine and setup replication between these two. This way you will have to make changes only on one ACS and the secondary will automatically get updated.
Once these two are set, you can define both of these server as Radius/Tacacs server on the devices and there would be a redundancy.

Limitations of Cisco ACS server

I want to ask about limitations of Cisco ACS server 3.3 .
I use ACS server for Radius authentication, and has a limit 80 authentications per second. But at peak time i need 150-200 authentications per second. Is this a software limitaion or changed due to hardware performance?
Can i also solve this problem with a High Availability configuration.

ACS performance is a very complex issue and depends largely on
1) auth protocol (anything eap is SLOW)
2) backend (anything external is SLOW)
3) server CPU
We did some performance tests a few years ago and could get up to 1000 auths/sec for MSCHAP against internal DB.
AD authentication/group mapping can take several seconds to complete.
ACSs big problem is limited concurrency when authentication time is high. There are some bottlenecks that effectively limit the number of concurrent authentications to 20. This is the max number of tcp/ip connections between CSRadius/CSTacacs and CSAuth. Inside CSRadius there are 50 dedicated authentication threads multiplexing requests over the 20 tcp/ip connections to CSauth. Messages to CSauth are blocking - so 20 simultaneous authentications that took 1 second would cap performance to 20 auths/sec.
EAP-TLS and now EAP-FAST are really really slow becase they send multiple rounds over RADIUS using challenge/response marshalled between the device and the 802.1x supplicant.
Putting ACS onto a quad CPU server wont reduce back-end external db latency or increase concurrency.
The only way to increase performance is to add more servers... and then you'll also have to get into load balancing :(
IMHO Cisco needs to make a low cost "ACS on a blade" and have one in each device. Have the config pushed down from a central database.

Duet Enterprise is an add-on to both SharePoint 2010 and SAP NetWeaver 7.02; with additional SAP landscape behind that (e.g. SAP ERP, SAP HR, CRM, or so)
A simple VM with e.g. SharePoint and the Duet Enterprise add-on to SharePoint is thus insufficient; you can only evaluate Duet Enterprise if you also have a proper SAP landscape available.

Office 2011 is the current boxed version for the Mac. The two versions are Home and Business. The difference (besides price) is that the Business version includes Outlook. Both contain Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Actually, the Home version also has Outlook hidden on the disk. If you decided later you want to use Outlook, you can call Microsoft for an unlock code to install it from the Home version disk. The unlock cost is essentially the difference between the Home and Business versions.
You mentioned Office 2013, but that's the current Windows version. MS hasn't really stated one way or another if there will be a feature comparable boxed Mac version. If there is, it looks like we won't see it until sometime in 2014. To get the current functionality of Office 2013 in a Mac product, you'd have to purchase the subscription based Office 365.
It does depend on your needs. Often, Office must be used for true compatibility with people you work, or collaborate with. It also has many features the free alternatives don't offer, and can't import or replicate. Otherwise, as Gary noted, Open Office is a good free choice.

Downloaded Evaluation Version of Windows Server 2012 Standard- install is asking for product key

I downloaded the evaluation version of Windows server 2012 standard from the Microsoft TechNet site.
When I try to install server 2012 as a new virtual, I'm prompted for the product key for server 2012.
I do not have the key. How do I get the key? Or, why is this happening on a evaluation version?
Does anyone out there have the key for Windows server 2012 standard evaluation version, or know where I can get it?

Cisco ACS 4.2.1.15 for Windows and Network Access Profiles

We are attempting to configure ACS 4.2.1.15 on Windows Server 2008 Member Server. Initially I only have the need to authenticate Network Admins for device administration and authenticate Windows AD groups using PEAP authentication. The general problem that I am having is that if I configure a Cisco 1200 Access Point for PEAP and also setup The Access Point for Radius authentication pointed to the ACS server it always maps to the the first Network Access Profile and rather than it trying the second it will error sayiing some condition is not met depending on what changes I make. Can someone tell me what the criteria that is used to determine what NAP is used? According to the manual if all 4 criteria are not met then the Profile will not apply.
I am using one ACS group that is mapped to an AD group for Wireless Access and a Second ACS group mapped to an AD group that includes the Net Admins. This group mapping appers to be working as the user group name seems to mapped correctly in the logs. In short I have tried only configuring the Wireless NAP to only Allow EAP authentication using PEAP EAP-MSCHAPv2 and the Netadmins profile to include all protocols. Bascially what happens is if I have the Wireless NAP first it works fine for PEAP authentication on Wireless but if I try to administer the access point and provide credentials I get a message in the failed log that the authentication profile is not allowed in this Network Access Profile. Why does this not just go onto the next Network Access profile?
I am familiar with version 3.2 but it does not seem to work the same.
Any help would be appreciated on what I am missing.

Cisco ACS server 5.1 console login

I have ACS server 5.1 virtual appliance. It is functioning properly in terms of performing its radius and tacacs responsibilities. However, I cannot login via the local console or via ssh no matter which username and password I try. I have tried every local username on the ACS server as well as creating new ones with new passwords as superadmin but no success. It always returns back a "Login incorrect" message. I can use all of these same accounts to login to the web interface without failure. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem is? What am I missing?

To log in to CLI, use the administrator user account (and the corresponding password) that you created during the setup process.

Please be aware that the credentials used to login to the ACS CLI are entirely different than those used to authenticate at the ACS GUI screen and have absolutely nothing to do with credentials specified elsewhere in the network (such as on an Active Directory server).
In case you do not remember your CLI credentials (please note that these credentials are case sensitive), you can insert the ACS 5.x disc and follow the instructions for resetting the default administrator password. This will set the username to administrator and password to default. After, you should be able to create a new username and password through the ACS CLI.

hammered, why not make the evaluation version available on one of the large
download sites such as tucows which has multiple mirrors across the world?
This is how the Linux distributions are made feasible, and Linux
distributions are probably updated more frequently than the demo so there
doesn't seem to be the issue of outdated versions floating around.
I'd have thought that increasing the availability of the evaluation version
would increase the visibility of Labview, and hence its use and NI's
profitability! From my own experience, if I have to fill in a form and wait
for a CD then I'm much less likely to look at something I'm unfamiliar with
than if I can simply download it, install it and take a quick look while
it's on my mind.

Java 8 SE Embedded download - which version for my RPi?

One thing I struggle with is knowing which download for my RPi.
I keep reading I should use the hard floating point version. That said, here's the only Java 8 SE Embedded version I see with HardFP: ARMv7 Linux - VFP, HardFP ABI, Little Endian1
On my RPi, here's the output from "uname -a"

Will the HardFP version on the download page work on my RPi? It appears to be arm6.
The only thing I see available with ARMv6 is: ARMv6/7 Linux - VFP, SoftFP ABI, Little Endian2
If you have the answer or even refer me to a good site that explains the differences, I'd be very grateful. If not, I'll just keep pulling out my hair! :-)

METHOD 1 - download & deploy, options for compact profiles
Most Raspberry Pi distributions have been hard float for a while... To check, look for the following file:
/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf
If this exists, you are running hard float.
Once you have your Pi on a hard float build, grab the latest Java 8 from here:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html
Grab the first one titled "jdk-8-linux-arm-vfp-hflt.tar.gz"
For doing compact profile work to learn how SE Embedded is used (and compact profiles work) go to the downloads on this page: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/embedded/downloads/java-embedded-java-se-download-359230.html
and start with this one: ejdk-8-fcs-b132-linux-arm-vfp-hflt-03_mar_2014.tar.gz (ARMv7 Linux - VFP, HardFP ABI, Little Endian)
then use jrecreate to shrink it.
METHOD 2 - use apt-get on the Raspberry Pi, full "embedded" version of the JDK
From Linux command line >> sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install oracle-java8-jdk

I am starting with Captivate 8 and have never worked with apple products.
For testing I am going to buy an iPhone or/and iPad.
Which version of these should I buy for testing?
Or are there prooven browser simulators of the apple world?

Your target audience for e-learning is more likely to be using an iPad than an iPhone, but if you were needing a business phone anyway then why not buy both?
Always test on the actual device. Simulators cannot be relied upon to be 100% accurate.
