Cisco AIR -LAP-1142 status led continuosly blinking green

hello all,
I have implemented around 46 access points (AIR-LAP-1142) in a customer site and i can see that the led of some of the access points are continously blinking green and no clients are associated to these access points. I have a WISM which has two controllers in it. I can see the particular aps to be joined  in the controller. But my question is that why its not giving me any signal. Please help me as this is very urgent!!.. even if am under the access point the signal is not there. I checked the radio status of the aps and its up. The WLANs are activated from the controller also. Please help mee....!!

continously blinking green
This could mean that the AP hasn't joined the WiSM yet.
Can you console into the AP?  If you can, reboot the AP and post the entire power up and bootup process and include the "sh logs".

  • Cisco AIR-LAP 1522 PROBLEM

Hello to everyone. They brought me a LAP1522 referring that it is not working properly. I am trying to connect to console port but the problem is that I only get log messages but I cannot edit something or type any commands. I have attached the log messages if you can catch something from there. Ignore the messages about not finding controller because the AP has been removed from the real network to my office.

    Reset Button
The access point has a reset button located on the bottom of the unit (see Figure 3). The reset button is recessed in a small hole that is sealed with a screw and a rubber gasket. The reset button is used to perform these functions:
•Reset the access point—press the reset button for less than 10 seconds. LEDs turn off during the reset and then reactivate when the reset is complete.
•Disable battery backup power—Press the reset button for more than 10 seconds. LEDs turn off, then on, and then stay off.
–You can also disable the battery remotely by entering this command:
    config mesh battery-state disable AP_name
•Switch off LEDS—Press the reset button for more than 10 seconds. LEDs turn off, then on, and then stay off.

  • Cisco 1131 access point status led

    Hi
Any one experienced a white light on the status led, its the "ring light" infront of the AP. ive checked on http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/1130/installation/guide/113h_c4.html where all colours are listed and none point done to white.
    ANy ideas?
    Thanks

Here's an update on this issue. I have had about a 2% failure rate on my 3502i's due to blue, green, and white light freezing. We sent several unit to Cisco's wireless engineer team in Richfield. They have found the issue and have written a fix and are currently doing testing this weekend. They are sending a senior wireless engineer to my office on Monday morning to apply the fix on the 200 units that we have yet to deploy. This is the bad part: the fix can only be applied through the console port and they won't have this integrated into a controller code until May/June. The good news is they have a fix or will just RMA with no questions. I have a webex with their wireless team to explain exactly what the issue is, but from what I gathered is something to do with the boot loader image and the IBM chip in the unit. I will follow up with you guys on Mon/Tues.

  • Ultra 45  power/status led no display green light

Hi, i have a problem with my ultra 45. Wonder if anyone come across this. My system when booted will have the green led on but after awhile the led turns off when booting up. The system is able to run up and perform properly except the status led is off.
First i assume is due to the keyboard and mouse where i didn't connect properly but it does'nt seems to be the problem. I have search through the net and didn't found any useful solution. Hopefully i can get one here. Thanks

  • Cisco Air LAP-1042 issue

Hi guys. I just purchase Cisco LAP-1042N for my office network expansion. When i console into the AP via serial. I am not able to used "configure terminal" command to set my AP name, static IP address.
I tried using "debug lwapp console cli" command it did not work. below is the capture screen of the error i am getting when assigning AP hostname. Error message : command is disable.
can some one guide me on how to configure the AP correctly and enable conf t command
    Thanks in advanced.
    Br
    Syafiq

Is the AP new or used? It may have a configuration on it already if used - resest it to default and do the express setup as described here. I beleive the 1040 series needs a DHCP server per the following section from the configuraiton guide:
    Default IP Address Behavior
When you connect a 1040, 1130AG, 1140, 1200, 1240, 1250, 1260, 2600 access point, or 1300 series access point/bridge with a default configuration to your LAN, the access point requests an IP address from your DHCP server and, if it does not receive an address, continues to send requests indefinitely.
As a Lightweight AP, most of its settings should come from the WLC once you have the LAP on the network where it can see the WLC.

  • CFP-2110 controller STATUS LED red blinking after powering up

    Hi,
Have any one experienced this before:  once we powered up the control panel to the instrument, the cFP-2110 controller would just start blinking the RED STATUS signal.  I checked the manual on cFP-2110 and it says if the red signal comes off more than 4 times, it is an unrecoverable error.  Any recommendation from the board?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
The default IP is 0.0.0.0. Do you see this same behavior when booting into safe mode? Please see the cFP-21xx User Manual page A-2.  You can also contact NI support at www.ni.com/support.

Clock on AP wont synchronized to WLC too, everytime I set a clock on AP, it will back again 2 hours from WLC clock. The funny thing si the other old AP can join to WLC with no problem
Anyone have any idea about this one?
    Many Thanks,
    Andrew

AP already download the image from WLC,
Your AP currently have two IOS:  One called the "recovery" and the other is the LWAPP/CAPWAP.  The recovery is easily identifiable because it has the letters "rcv" in the filename.  In enable mode, delete the LWAPP/CAPWAP and reload the AP.  Make sure the AP is not connected to the network.
Once the AP boots the "rcv" image, perform the following commands:
    1.  clear lwapp private
    2.  clear lwapp ap controller ip address
Reboot the AP and let it join the network.

  • Cisco 1131AG LWAP status led yellow and other leds blinking green

I have a problem with three AIR-LAP1131AG-E-K9  that joined the controller and the status led turns to yellow after joining the controller while other LEDs are blinking green.
The APs has no coverage at all although the WCS shows that there is coverage and the 4400WLC shows that the AP interfaces are UP. (The ethernet interface and tha 802.11b,g radio interface is up).
    The SSID broadcast is enabled.
On the switch the interface is up and there is traffic going in and out of the LAP.
I tired power reset and factory reset for the APs but the problem remains the same.
Any ideas for what might be the problem ?!!
    Regards

Yes the clients are not able to see the SSID broadcasted by the AP.
But these APs were functioning normally before without any changes to the WLC config.
I had the same problem with other APs but they went back to normal state after a hardware reset to the APs.

  • FP-1600 Status LED blinks 17 times.

My FieldPoint bank has 9 modules. I previously had a problem with the FP-TB-10 power and ready lights blinking, but that was because one of my dual-channel modules was not seated correctly. Now the status LED is blinking 17 times. The manual says to contact NI about this. The FieldPoint Explorer seems to find all of the modules correctly, though. Anyone know what's up?

    Aaron,
I checked the firmware and the FieldPoint Explorer version, and I'm using 3.20 and 3.0, respectively. When I power cycle the FP-1600, the 17 blinks of the status LED go away. Communication works, and all of the devices are found. However, communication does drop out from time to time, and eventually the status LED begins blinking 17 times again.
A possibly related issue is that the FP-AI-V10 dual-channel module that I have plugged into slot 2 of the FP-TB-10 base causes the FP-TB-10 to flash its power and ready LEDs. Re-seating the FP-AI-V10 seems to fix this, although the module is definitely already clicked into place when I see this problem. Upon reseating (or just pressing on it without removing the module), the FieldPoint Explo
    rer program finds this module.
I'm tempted to think that this issue with the FP-TB-10 and FP-AI-V10 are unrelated to the FP-1600's status LED blinking 17 times because even with the FP-TB-10 removed from the bank, I still get the flashing LED.
Any ideas? Also, what is a GPF type error?
    Thanks,
    Jake

  • D400 - system status LED blinking, network LED blinking

Hi - Just recently started experiencing this problem with my D400.
The system status LED is blinking, which according to the user guide means that WHS is either booting or shutting down.  The Network LED shows activity.
Problem is that I can't get on the D400 via remote desktop.
Frustrating.  Talked with support already, said only option is to send in to depot or find a local resource to troubleshoot or fix.  Problem is that we have our music/photos on this thing.
Support also said that if we factory reset data on all drives will be erased.
Looking for help wherever I can get it.  Thanks!
    Scott

Hi scottdcm, and welcome to the Lenovo User Community!
To get your music/photos off the system before returning it for service, connect the hard drive(s) to another computer with a SATA connection. An external USB/SATA connector or drive enclosure will also do the job.
You can also remove any drives you have added before shipping it for service.
    Hope this helps!
    I don't work for Lenovo. I'm a crazy volunteer!

  • Cisco Air-Lap1242AG

Hi i was trying to create a better stronger wireless network at my house.  I picked up a Cisco Air-Lap1242AG on an auction thinking it would give me more range.   Now trying to set it up i am trying to figure out if i made a mistake?  Can this router be used at home with just a Cable Modem?  Or does this need to hook into a Business Network?
    Thanks
    Eric

A Cisco "Air-LAP" access point is useless standalone by itself. It must participate on a network with a Cisco
Wireless Lan Controller appliance to configure and manage it.
And it's just an access point, not a router too, like a typical home unit is. Looks like you bought the wrong tool for the job.
In my opinion, the best performing consumer-grade wireless routers (for max range, and typical Internet surfing 802.11g speeds) I've ever encountered, for home use have been the old Buffalo Wireless-G High Power units, which I think you can still buy online these days.
