Cisco and CALEA compliance question.
Greetings! I was wondering about how Cisco hardware supports/will support CALEA compliance? For those of you that don't know, CALEA stands for Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act, and means that service providers are mandated to be able to accommodate law enforcement agencies in the serving of warrants to tap data lines, observing all forms of data traffic (VoIP, Instant Messaging, Surfing, etc.) for use as evidence. Any information on this topic in relation to Cisco hardware would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
Bryan, the MARS does not support SCAP and there are no plans to do so. Matthew

Primary and Standby CM question
In general, Primary and Standby CM's database tables, configurations, group polices should be sync'd up and looked identical, right? What else will be different and will require to import onto standby CM manually? Things like: SSL certificate, Secure store encryption...etcs.
Thanks!
JoeHello Joe,
I don't think you're leaving anything behind in regards how primary and standby CM sync works, just follow the steps from the configuration guide and everything will be taken care,if there was any doubt just let us know what WAAS software version your running and the specific question. Critical files like Secure-store and SSL certificates will be automatically sync as well.
Still, in my experience I stronly suggest to make sure your devices time settings are right.
Time settings is very important for the sync to work fine, best way is to use an NTP.
Please find the attached link to configure NTP and timezone:

Cisco Works Network Compliance Manage NCM
I'm working on the Cisco Works Network Compliance Manager.
I would like to add a device which is behind a firewall.
For this I use the option bastion host to authen. on the firewall and
to get access to the device self.
The problem is the firewall is not listing to the port 22/23, it a different port number
like example 1234.
Is it possible to change the port manually in a configfile, as the webinterface has no option for this ?
I use the version 1.7.1 the latest one.Both Prime and LMS can do baseline compliance, after a fashion. LMS's is much more mature in my estimation. Prime is more around the lines of deploying templates.
The regulatory compliance functions as of now are in only LMS's Compliance and Audit Manager (CAAM) function. It's quite useful, matching the baseline compliance features.
An LMS license is included with PI, but it does need to be on its own server (or separate VM). -
Cisco and Linksys products mixed environment
Hello All,
Before I ask my question, I would like to know if it's OK to ask questions regarding both Cisco and Linksys products in this forum, or if this forum is just for Cisco OR Linksys? I just want to make sure before I ask my question.
The devices we are talking about are UC520, Catalyst Express 520 Switch, and 2 Linksys SRW224P Switches.
Thank you!Thanks for your response, I can now describe my problem....
We are using the UC520 as a PBX System, VPN Server, and what-have-you. On the expansion port, we connected the CE520 Switch, and we have many phones, and some other devices connected to it. Now, on ports 5 and 6 of the UC520, we connected the 2 Linksys Switches we've had for a couple of years now. Anyway, on these switches we have a few computers connected, but what I am having problems is 8 IP Cameras (PVC2300 also by Linksys). What we wanted to do was to create a new VLAN (2) on the UC520 to house these IP Cameras (all of which have static IP addresses in the subnet 192.168.0.1/24). We need the office manager's laptop to be able to see the cameras, but this laptop is in VLAN 1 (192.168.10.1/24). I opened up at case with TAC and they helped me create the VLAN and all this, and now they said it should all be working OK, except it's not, and they said it has to do with the Linksys switches (which they can't provide support for). I am not a networking wizard, I consider myself a very basic IT guy when it comes to this, so I am not sure what I'm supposed to do on the switches to have them communicate correctly with the UC520 and VLAN 1 and 2. Right now, the computers connected to the Linksys Switches are actually in VLAN 1, and can access the IP Phones Web GUI, so I don't know why this new VLAN is not visible by the Data VLAN.
I hope I am clear, and if you have any questions I will be glad to answer them.
Thanks for any help provided!!
Our topology is something like this:
CE520 on Expansion port ------ Mostly phones and a few computers
|
|
Internet---UC520 ----- SRW224P Switch on UC520 port 5 ------ IP Cameras and a bunch of computer/network devices

SRW224P Switch on UC520 port 6 -------- IP Cameras and a couple of computers -

The Cisco Router is running IOS 15.2, the Juniper Site JunOS 10.4
Any Ideas how I can get this to work?
Thanks in advance!Marcin,
I updated the debugging log, the previous one was created using override-capability-neg on the neighbor (experimental).
>>0) Do you see similar scenario for working session? (Between two Cisco routers)
The working connection between two cisco routers doesn't show any output
>>1) What verion of IOS are you running? Something failrly recent I hope?

From a Kappy post
The Three Best Alternatives for Security Questions and Rescue Mail
1. Use Apple's Express Lane.
Go to https://expresslane.apple.com ; click 'See all products and services' at the
bottom of the page. In the next page click 'More Products and Services, then
'Apple ID'. In the next page select 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Forgotten Apple
ID security questions' and click 'Continue'. Please be patient waiting for the return
phone call. It will come in time depending on how heavily the servers are being hit.
2. Call Apple Support in your country: Customer Service: Contact Apple support.
3. Rescue email address and how to reset Apple ID security questions.
A substitute for using the security questions is to use 2-step verification:

When I try to setup my new iPad air, I go through all the steps for the iCloud sign-in and choosing security questions and what not. But after I hit the agree to the terms and conditions... It says Apple ID could not be created because of a server error. Have no clue what to do... I've restarted the iPad and get the same message. But my internet works just fine.
1. Turn router off for 30 seconds and on again

XML Publisher nested grouping, sum and order by question
Please help in nested group by, sum and order by question

I want to print report which is:
1. Group by part number, component and sum the amount for a part number/component
2. Order by part number, component
Here is rtf file for XML publisher report
<?for-each-group:G_LINES;PART_NUMBER?>
<?sort:G_LINES;PART_NUMBER;'ascending';data-type='text'?>
<?if:BREAKDOWN_COUNT>0?>
Part Number: <?PART_NUMBER?> Quantity: <?sum (current-group()/SHIP_QTY)?> Part Count:<?count(current-group()/PART_NUMBER)?> Breakdown Count:<?count(G_BREAKDOWN/COMPONENT)?>
<?for-each:current-group()?>
<?for-each-group:G_BREAKDOWN;COMPONENT?>
Component: <?COMPONENT?> Price: <?COMPONENT_PRICE?>
<?end-for-each?>
<?end-for-each?>
<?end if?>

If I add <?sort:G_BREAKDOWN;COMPONENT;'ascending';data-type='text'?> inside G_BREAKDOWN grouping it gives error.

Need help. I am running a 27 in imac with 16 gigs of ram. Photoshop runs really fast, except when opening files. It takes 5-10 minutes to open even a small file of 1 meg. I cleaned and validated all the fonts and removed all questionable fonts. Reset preferences and still have problem. Slow to open and in force quit "Photoshop not responding" At this point should I uninstall and start over.
What are the performance Preferences?

Please help me because it's not the first time the account has been hacked, every time i found out that it was hacked i changed the password, but this time it is not easy because he changed the alternative email-adress and the security questions.
Call the Apple support phone number for your country:

and the 1st tier agent should be able to assist you or transfer your call to the Account Security team.

I want to change my icloud id on my iPhone, but it won't let me now that i have upgraded. I no longer have the password and the problem is It is using an old id which the email isn't valid and the security question does not think my birthday is valid. I cannnot delete the account because "find my iphone" wants the password linked to this old account. But when i go into the find my iphone app it is using my corect Apple ID. How do i fix this?
If you still have access to your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. You can now go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your correct iCloud ID and password.
If you don't have access to your old email address, you will have to contact Apple to have them reset the password so you can disable Find My iPhone and sign into your iCloud account. You can either go to https://expresslane.apple.com, select "More Products and Services", then "Apple ID", then on the next page select "Other Apple ID Topics", then "Lost or forgotten Apple ID password" and click "Continue"; or you can contact Apple Support (http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/). -
I Forgot my Apple ID password and I can't reset it because the related email account has been closed and the security questions don't work! How do I solve this? Thank you.
Click here and contact Apple.

Just bought a 2tb external hard drive with the intention of moving my iPhoto data files to it. I have so much of my 500 gigs being used up by images and video. Questions: Will this foul up my iPhoto app?
Do I need to point iPhoto to this new location?
Thanks!Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. (You unchecked the option to copy files into the Library on import) The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.
Assuming a Managed Library:
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

Too many trace files apparently created on behalf of Health Monitor
Every ~10 minutes I see two pairs of trc+trm files that appear to be nothing more than a nuisance. A nuisance because if you don't get rid of them, then commands such as "ls -lt | head" take too long to complete. Even after setting disablehealth_chec
