Cisco AP 3502 POE with 2960S

Hi, I recently bought 15 new AP Aironet 3500 (AIR-CAP3502I-A-K9) and connect to 3 different Cisco Catalyst 2960S. All of these get powered at boot with 15.4 Watt but after the boot process, they all drop to 14.5W and the LED blinking all color to say AIR-CAP3502I-A-K9.
I already have other same AP connected to a 2960S switch with no problem. Different length, longest run maybe 200 feet, so not a length problem.
What can be the problem?
All the AP is LWAPP connected to a Wism controller on a 6509 chassis.
Thanks

Yes we have enough power, some switch has ip phone, but on a new switch, 2960-48ports, we have 4 new AP, who doesn't work and 1 ip phone 7911. 2 or 3 server who doesn't need power. If I look all my switch with show power inline, all give me more than 150 Watt remaining. I try to set power inline consumption 15400 to 15.4W but nothing change, I shutdown the port, reenable it and the AP still blinking to say enough inline power but with that the show power inline stay at 15.4
If I disable cdp, in show power inline I see 15.4 Watt with Ieee PD device but the AP didn't join the controller and blink red blue green.

  • Cisco FI 6248 to a 2960

Any issues or supportability problems connecting a Cisco UCS FI to a 2960 upstream switch?
This will be connected using channeled gig ports with multiple vlans.
    Thanks!

Other than possible congestion - no.  You'll need to configure the ethernet uplinks as 1GB on the FI's, but it will work.  Just watch oversubcription since you're running all 10G from UCS southward.  If this is for a lab I would say fine, but if you're looking for production you'll likely want a 10G switch northbound to UCS.  Any traffic between blades that needs to reach between FI-A and FI-B will traverse the northbound switch, which can easily be a bottleneck at 1G speeds.

  • Cisco SSL-VPN / webvpn with Cisco 2901 IOS 15.3.3M

    Dear Community,
I have a strange issue that I am hoping some of you will be able to assist with.
I am running an environment with the following specifications
    Cisco ISR G2 2901 with IOS 15.3.3M
    Security Licence enabled
    Data Licence enabled
    VPN Licence enabled
    Cisco ISR G2 2951 with IOS 15.3.3M
    Security Licence enabled
    Data Licence enabled
    SM with ESX server.
    Desktop Environment
    Windows XP SP3
    Internet Explorer 8
    Desktop Environment 2
    Windows 8
    Internet Explorer 10
I have a ESX server set up with a web page on the 2951. The 2901 unit has a SSL VPN / web vpn service set up on it to allow the Desktop Environments to connect to the 2951 web page. The Desktop Environments are not allowed to directly connect to the 2951 router that is why the SSL-VPN / web vpn is used.
This system was initially working with IOS 15.2.4M2 however an update of the IOS was required and now the VPN does not fully function correctly.
PROBLEM: Now the webvpn interface loads with the welcome screen and login. After logging in it has a screen with a link to the webpage on the 2951. When I try open this webpage on the 2951 and the SSL-VPN starts to build I only get half my web page. There seems to be a problem where I only get half a page loading or just a blank page with just HTML headers. I have tried changing the page to just HTML but it still does not display properly. This is with Internet Explorer ( all versions ). With firefox there are no problems but I cannot run this browser as my environment will not allow it.
If anyone can assit me here it would really make my day.
    Thanks,
    Will

Can anyone help with this ?

  • Cisco ISE Vs Cisco Anyconnect Posture module with Advanced Endpoint Protection

We are planning to use cisco Anyconnect posture module with Adv Endpoint protection to examine the VPN users- This can check whether they a antivirus/anti spyware software installed on their work station and can force to update def file if its older than specified number of days, it can also check the firewall status on their workstation and enable if its not already. This can detect keylogger and emulation softwares also.
Do we get any additional advantages in using ISE compared to Anyconnect posture module ......
    Siddhartha

These are good questions. We had them last year before we decided to purchase ISE, specifically for our VPN users.
I will be watching this thread to see what kind of responses you get.
As of right now, I can verify the ISE can indeed check if specific Anti-Virus is installed (i.e., your corporate AntiVirus), or if ANY (supported by Cisco within ISE) antivirus is installed, and it can force an update process for the AV if it detects that the DAT files are older than a admin specified amount of time.
Our issue at the moment (if you haven't searched the forums) is ISE detected the proper WSUS updates are indeed installed on the users systems and allowing the users system to talk to our internal WSUS server.
We are now wondering if the Advanced Endpoint licensing on the ASA would have been a better way to go.
Wishing you luck in finding your answers for us all.

  • Cisco 5508 Wireless Controller with Splash Page Disclaimer

How do one configure a splash disclaimer page on a Cisco Wireless Controller 5508 with no authentication?
    Jimmy

There are many options to you in this scenario, but if you're looking to simply provide a splash page via the WLC without interacting with any other web servers, you can configure Local Web Authentication (LWA) as seen in this configuration example.
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless-mobility/wlan-security/69340-web-auth-config.html?referring_site=RE&pos=1&page=http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless-mobility/wlan-security/71881-ext-web-auth-wlc.html
If you are not wanting the authentication, you can choose the "passthrough" method which will not require any credentials, only accepting an AUP or whatever you want.

  • Can i use a cisco RE1000 range extender with airport extreme

Can I use a Cisco R1000 range extender with airport extreme?

Apple's "extend a wireless network" function appears to be a proprietary feature that will only work with other Apple routers.
As far as we know, devices from other manufacturers are not compatible with this feature.
Bottom line....It would be extremely unlikely that this would work, but it's worth a try if you already have the products in hand.
    Please post on your results.

  • Cisco Catalyst 4507R+E with WS-X4748 blade, ports not working

I have a Cisco Catalyst 4507R+E  (with Sup7-E) and two blades; one WS-X4748-RJ45V+E and one WS-X4648-RJ45-E.
When I connect a device to a port on the WS-X4748-RJ45V+E blade the port will not come up, show interface shows the status as "notconnect". When I connect the same device to the WS-X4648-RJ45-E blade the interface comes up.
The WS-X4748-RJ45V+E blade seems to have initialised okay, it appears in the output of "show module" as OK.
I get exactly the same effect on a second, identically configured Catalyst 4507R+E.
The software version is IOS XE 3.1.0SG, which according to the release notes supports the WS-X4748-RJ45V+E blade. Has anybody else seen anything like this?

I have 2 Core switches, single SUP on each.
Line cards #1 and #2 randomly stop forwarding packets, only solution is to reload the switch ( hw-module reset does not work ). I have cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.05.00.E.152-1.E.bin and the sympton looks the same as the described one,
although the code is newer than 3.2.2SG.
Now we are downgrading to cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.04.02.SG.151-2.SG2.bin to check if that solves the issue,
otherwise we´ll try removing/re-inserting the modules, and if issue persists, most probably RMA the Core1.
We´ve sent a show tech to Cisco support while the issue was happening.

    Hello,
I have a Cisco MDS 9148 switch with Finisar FTLF-8524-P2BNV SFP+ modules. I am told by the guys configuring the equipment that these modules are not identified in the switch interface.
I am curious if there could be a compatibility problem (I have not found a compatibility list) or any other issue which could cause the behaviour.

  • Cisco Twinax Cables Compatibiltiy with EMC VNX/VNXe

    Hi,
I would like to know about Cisco Twinax Cables Compatibiltiy with EMC VNX/VNXe series storage - for connectivity between UCS Fabric Interconnect and EMC VNX/VNXe.
Are the following Cisco Twinax Cables compatible with EMC's VNX and VNXe serie platforms:
    SFP-H10GB-CU1M= 1-m 10G SFP+ Twinax cable assembly, passive
    SFP-H10GB-CU3M= 3-m 10G SFP+ Twinax cable assembly, passive
    SFP-H10GB-CU5M= 5-m 10G SFP+ Twinax cable assembly, passive
    SFP-H10GB-ACU7M= 7-m 10G SFP+ Twinax cable assembly, active
    SFP-H10GB-ACU10M= 10-m 10G SFP+ Twinax cable assembly, active
    Kindly advice. Thanks.

    Hi,
I'd like to confirm you, that passive assembly is supported. Haven't tried the actives one yet.
    I'm using UCS-B200 M3, and EMC VNX 5300.
the EMC VNX5300 (Block Level) connected using 2 type of media. Copper (SFP-H10GB-CU5M= 5-m 10G SFP+ Twinax cable assembly, passive) and Fiber Channel 8 GB directly info Fabric Interconnect 6248 ports.
For old server the connection is via iSCSI 10GB Copper. and for UCS-B200 M3 is via FC 8GB.
All my configuration is running well.
    Hope thats helped.

  • Configuring Cisco ACS 5.1 with Juniper Netscreen Firewall wit Radius & Tacacs+

    Hello,
Can anybody tell me the step-by-step configuration of Cisco ACS 5.1, to configured it with Juniper Netscreen Firewall for radius & tacacs+ authentication and authorization?
I am able to configure this with Cisco ACS 4.2 with customise VSA file but can't understand how to configure it on ACS 5.1.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Eduardo,
Can you tell me how to map ACS 4.2?
    service=junos-exec
    local-user-name=Engineering
Into the new "shell profiles" on ACS 5.2? How do I verify these attributes are passed onto ACS 5.2? I don't have access to a sniffer or tap nor do I have writes on this box. I have to instruct our systems folks to investigate. It has been a back and forth battle.
Also, I'd like to see where I'd map this on ACS 5.2.  Keep in mind in both cases I have a JUNOS config mapping to a login user Engineer and operations respectively.
    local-user-name=opertions
    allow-commands=((^ping *)|(^mtrace *)|(^traceroute *)|(^monitor *))
    deny-commands= ((^start *)|(^file delete *)|(^file rename *)|(^request *)|(^set cli restart-on-upgrade *)|(^set cli prompt *)|(^set chassis *)|(^set date *)|(^test *)|(^clear *)|(^op *))

  • Brocade FCX PoE with Cisco LAP

    Hi,
We are using Brocade FCX PoE switches with AIR-LAP1142N-N-K9 and AIR-LAP1252AG-A-K9. We have some issues that may or may not be due to the Brocade-LAP links but would like a reality check with other Brocade sites. If you are successfully using Brocade PoE switches with Cisco LAPs can you give a typical port config?
Example configs we have have tried:
    interface ethernet 1/1/2
    no cdp enable
    inline power power
    interface ethernet 2/1/23
    port-name TX_LWAP01
    no fdp enable
    no cdp enable
    inline power power-by-class 4"
    interface ethernet 2/1/12
    inline power
    Typical switch:
    UNIT 1: compiled on Jun 17 2010 at 18:20:53 labeled as FCXS07100a
    HW: Stackable FCX648S-HPOE
    Thanks,

    Hi John,
Unfortunetally, I will not be able to help you from the switch side. Maybe someone else reading the thread will do; but I wanted to tell you that 11n Access Points have special POE requirements to function as expected.
Check this http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/switches/epoe.html if you haven't seen it yet.
    Hope this help you

  • Cisco Air-SAP2602E-E with PoE Plus?

    Hi to all,
Could be any situation in which the Access point AIR-SAP2602E-E-K9 would need PoE Plus (all four antennas transmiting maximum power, some radio speeds, etc)?
    Thanks in advance.

    Nope.
Only the end-of-sale 1252 and 3602 (when add-on modules are installed) require PoE plus.  Every other models are PoE only.
