Cisco ASR1001-X SFP-10G-SR: unable to bring 10G port up

Dear colleagues,
I have connected a Cisco ASR1001-X 10G port to a 10G port on the Cisco 7606-S.  The SFP on my ASR1001-X is SFP-10G-SR and the SFP on the 7606-S is XENPAK-10GB-LX4. I am using an MMF fibre patching. I am unable to bring the port up. I have a temp license for the ASR 10G port. Is that sufficient to bring the port up?
I have tried connecting the SFP-10G-SR to a XFP-10G-MM-SR on another ASR but this did not work either.  I am able to connect the XFP-10G-MM-SR to one another and also the SFP-10G-SR  to one another. So there appears to be an issue when I mix the SFPs.
Can any one help please?

The SFP on my ASR1001-X is SFP-10G-SR and the SFP on the 7606-S is XENPAK-10GB-LX4. I am using an MMF fibre patching.
The two fibre optic modules are on different wavelengths so the link won't come up.

  • Which CISCO switch supports SFP, SFP+ and 10G ethernet ports

I would like to have information about a CISCO switch which can support fiber ports SFP(1g) and SFP+(10g) and copper 1g and 10g ethernet ports. And will it also software upgradable to support L3 protocols ?

You can choose from the Cisco 3560-E, 4900, 4500, and 6500 series switches. That's in order of capability (and cost!), from least to greatest.
The 3560-E and 4900 series are fixed chassis systems (the 4900M is semi-modular) while the 4500 and 6500 series are completely modular - buy the chassis and populate it according to your requirements.

  • Mod_onsint: Unable to match diagnostic port

I've completed a B2B & BPEL migration from 10.1.2.0.0 to 10.1.2.0.2 on our test server.
Everything else seems to be ok except this.
The HTTP server is bouncing about once per minute and I keep getting these same messages over and over:
[warn] mod_onsint: Unable to match diagnostic port to a port in the port list. Adding the diagnostic port as a new port to the opmn dms port list. It is host 127.0.0.1. port:7202.
[notice] Oracle-Application-Server-10g/10.1.2.0.2 Oracle-HTTP-Server configured -- resuming normal operations
[notice] Accept mutex: fcntl (Default: sysvsem)
[notice] FastCGI: process manager initialized (pid 7580)
    I've tried reconfiguring ports, etc...
I can't find any hits that point to these messages and am having no luck getting this to work.
    HELP??

I was finally able to get the HTTP server to quit bouncing, but the only way I could was to disable DMS altogether (commented out the include in the conf file...)
So now the question is, how should the ports in dms.conf be configured??

We recently deployed the WS-C3750X-48T-S with a 10G SM Module.  The 10G SM Module has a fiber sfp and ismy only fiber ports.  Is it possible to run a 10G fiber sfp  port at 1G?

some SFP can work at 100Mpbs speed :-)
C'mon, I'm speaking in the context of the the OP asking if SFP+ can/can't operate in 1 Gbps (and not 100 Mbps).
Yes, there are SFP that can operate only at 100 Mbps and nothing more than that.

  • Connect Oracle 10g DEveloper Suite to Oracle 10g Express Edition

I installed both the free Data Base 10g XE and Developer Suite 10g in a local machine. need to know how to connect both products to begin to work with.
I did several attempts to do so using Developer Suite Net Configuration Assistance, Net Manager and Developer Suite Administrator but, I always fail when try to connect with the data base: username: system, password: bla, bla, bla and database XE, the system answer ora-12154: TNS no se ha podido resolver el nombre del servicio.

Depending on the installation type selected, the tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora files may be installed in the DevSuiteHome\network\admin folder (Windows) or DevSuiteHome/network/admin directory (Linux and Solaris). You can update the files manually using a text editor, or use the configuration tool, Oracle Net Configuration Assistant. For more information about the configuration tool, refer to Oracle Database Net Services Administrator's Guide in the Oracle database documentation library.

  • Upgrading from Oracle 10G standard edition to Oracle 10G enterprise edition

    Hi
I want to upgrade from Oracle 10G standard edition to Oracle 10G enterprise edition. Is there any script provided by oracle which I can run on existing Oracle 10G standard edition to upgrade to enterprise edition after completing the licensing formalities or do I need to install Oracle 10g Enterprise edition from scratch and then migrate my data.
    Ramanbir S

You will not need to perform any data migration to upgrade to EE. The diffetence between standard en enerprise editions are the features offered. When you upgrade you can use the same set of files you used to install standard edition and just add the enterprise edition features you want to use in the 'Custom' section of the Universal Installer.

  • Unable to bring database online on 2nd node in FailSafe and MSCS config

I have a two node cluster running Windows 2003 Server, MSCS, and Oracle Failsafe. I have been unable to bring the database online on Node2. All resources in Cluster Administrator fail over fine and come online except for the Database resource itself. The shared disks, listener, etc, are all online. All resources come online on Node1. When I failover to Node2, the Database Resource fails and posts this error in the Event Viewer:

The database is not mounted and the database windows service is not running (is set to manual). I can manually start the database thru Windows Services and access it fine. But still unable to bring it online via Cluster Administrator or Oracle Fail Safe Manager.

Can anybody give steps and ducuments regarding Oracle IAS upgrade from 10g (9.0.4) to 10g (10.1.3).
    Thanks
    Vignesh Bala

    Hi,
I do agree Martin in previous post. Basically, the OAS upgrade follows the similar steps listed as following for Oracle Portal. FYI.
The steps can be summarized as follows:
    1. Backup all tiers (infrastructure, middle tiers and database) of the system.
    2. Install a new OracleAS 10g Release 2 (10.1.2) middle tier.
    3. Execute the OracleAS Upgrade Assistant to migrate the 9.0.4 configuration to the 10.1.2 middle tier.
4.Upgrade the OracleAS Metadata Repository database version and upgrade the Identity Management schemas using the Oracle Universal Installer.
    5. Upgrade the OracleAS Metadata Repository component schemas including Portal using the Metadata Repository Upgrade Assistant (MRUA).
By the way, there is "Oracle Application Server Upgrade and Compatibility Guide 10g Release 2 (10.1.2) for Unix" posted at http://www.oraclepoint.com/topic.php?filename=80&extra=page%3D1 . PLease remember register on that forum first and then you'll be able to download that guide.
    Good Luck!

  • Can I run a cat5 cable to a 4 port hub from a cisco router then connect one of the hub's output ports to an airport express to 'extend' my wireless range?

Can I run a cat5 cable to a 4 port hub from a cisco router then connect one of the hub's output ports to an airport express to 'extend' my wireless range?
    Flow would be
Cable modem---->cisco e2000 wifi router (This is broadcasting wifi but not strong enough)---->4 port hub ---->airport express (to extend the wifi in another part of house)
    thanks!

Yes, you can do this as you stated. In essence you will want to configure both routers for roaming network. Please check out the following Apple Support article that describes this type of network. Although this article uses two or more AirPorts, it can be done with just about any manufacturer's router.

  • Connect Oracle 10g client to the Oracle 10g database behind a firewall

I need to connect an Oracle 10g client to the Oracle 10g database (windows server 2003 box) behind a firewall. I ran into this problem: Port redirection. Port redirection requires the Oracle client to connect to the database using a different port (usually a randomly selected TCP port) than the default or originally configured one. If there is no firewall between the server and the client, port redirection will not affect the actual connection. However, if port redirection does occur with the server behind a firewall, the client will be likely to suffer from a connectivity failure. The reason is simple: the newly assigned port based on port redirection is often blocked by the firewall. Such failures are not uncommon on Windows platforms.
I don't know how to stablished an unique TCP port.
I Enabled USE_SHARED_SOCKET on the Oracle database server, windows registry. Acording to what I read, that will force the server machine to share its port 1521 and thus all clients will stay on that port when connecting to the database. Noticeably, port redirection will not occur with USE_SHARED_SOCKET enabled, but that's true in oracle 8 or oracle 9. In oracle 10g this solution doesn't work.
I will apreciate any help about this. Please!
    Thanks in advanced.

Three solutions in order of preference
1 Use Connection Manager on the server (only installed using a Custom Install). This will tunnel all traffic through a single port. It will also allow you to configure allowable nodes
2 Set up shared server to use a fixed port. Disadvantage: shared server has overhead and the number of connections is limited
3 Use shared_sockets. Disadvantage: when you stop the listener everyone is disconnected.
