Cisco chs435hdc Er04 001
I have had Verizon Fios for a little over a month, and every so often upon turning on my new Cisco chs435hdc DVR and hitting the DVR button, an error message pops up saying Er04 001 and a countdown begins then the DVR turns itself off at the end of the countdown. Any help with this issue would be fantastic.
Thank you
Todd:
I have had the same issue for months and the response from Anthony at Verizon is typical. He doesn't address your issue because he has no idea what the issue is. If you Google this error message, surprisingly, you will find little to no information, except for maybe my similar posts on this forum from several months ago. I have talked to numerous Verizon support people. Most have no idea, but I did find a guy who was aware of the issue and said they were working on it. I even sent him some diagnostic information, but I never heard back and the issue is still happening for me.
I can tell you that it is not a box issue, I've returned my box and the same thing happens on the new box. I thought it might be a signal issue, but Verizon is telling me it is a software issue. The part that upsets me, though, is Verizon does not have a list of error messages from Cisco for this box and they don't even know what it means. Seriously. Which is beyond ridiculous when you consider how much money Verizon is paying Cisco for this equipment. If you go to Cisco's site, this model number does not show up under their list of cable boxes. But if you try hard enough, you can find the user guide to the box on the Web, but it does not have a list of error messages.
The frustrating thing about this whole saga is that the error will happen randomly and it never happens when I'm actually watching FiOS. Usually, when I get home from work and turn on the TV, the error message appears. This morning, when I turned on the TV it happened again.
Hear that Verizon? Your users are frustrated. And they seem to know more about the error message than you.

Boot times/issues for Motorola vs. Cisco DVRs
We have a solar powered home, and I'd like to keep our DVR off during the night when we're not recording anything to save power. Is there any difference in the boot time or issues around repeated booting between the Cisco Chs435hdc, and Motorola 7232 DVRs?
I noticed that the Motorola consumes less power (22W vs. 27W) so would like to switch from the Cisco to the Motorola all else being equal. How can I switch my DVR to the Motorola 7232? (we just started our service)
Thanks for any help!Unfortunately we don't have any stats on the boot times between the respective units. While I understand your want/need to power the boxes down at night they are actually designed to stay on ( in a lower power state when off) so they can accept guide data and software updates. Since they are designed to stay on we can't really speak to the effect repeated booting would have on the units over time. To address your swap question we will need some further information. Please look for a private message in your forum inbox.

Cisco SAS Cable (R200-SASCBL)
I quite urgently need the following cable -> Cisco R200-SASCBL-001=
Unfortunately I cannot find a reseller in Germany who has this cable on stock
The estimated shipping time is more than three weeks - that's too late
Now I am looking for a cable that has the same specifications from a third party vendor.
My question:
What are the specifications of the original Cisco cable?
I know, that is has a SFF-8087 connector which connects to the LSI MegaRAID 9260-4i (in a Cisco C200 M2 rackserver).
More specific, here are the questions, that I cannot answer at the moment:
- What connectors do I need on the other end of the cable?
- Do I need a crossover cable?
- What is the length of the cable?
Kind regards,
Volker KurthHello Volker,
Did you receive the cable along with the shipment of the server ?
Please check with your Cisco Accounts team on alternate options to ship the cable.
Also, using third party cables is not supported but it might work.

Hello,
I have 2 Cisco CHS435HDC DVR's that are connected to my home network. The other day I downloaded the FiOS Mobile app and wanted to see if I can watch my recorded shows or schedule new shows using this app. The app recognizes I have 2 devices but it doesnt display my recordings or schedules. In the app it also says the devices are not connected to the network but I can tell they are. Both my phone and the devices are on the same subnet/network so no firewalls or routes are in play.
One thing to note is that I have business service but there is no support forum on the business side so I'm hoping someone here can help.
1. How can I configure the app to connect to the DVR's or configure the DVR's to broadcast whats needed so they are seen on the network by the app? I cant figure out what I need to do here. (Note I activated and authorized all the devices and accounts)
2. In the DVR I cant seem to find where to change the IP address if for example I wanted to specify a static IP.
3. If I wanted to also connect via the internet what ports do I need to forward through my firewall?
Thanks in advance.I have my phone registered under Menus\Settings\Remote DVR\Mobile Phone Settings. This is where I registered my phone nunber and it provided a confirmation code. My iPhone works great. Note there is an older App that was replace by a newer app. Make sure you have the latest application for your device.
I am not sure if a plain iPAD or other non phone devices work. I know there had been some complaints, and some requests for applications for non phone devices. Not sure on the status.
I requested one that did not require to go to the Verizon site and back. Why not a local App on the local Wifi? And Also a remote control application developed for your PC? All can be found on The ideas boards, along with many other ideas. -
I recently upgraded to Verizon Fios. The house has coax wiring. As part of the install they put an Actiontec MI424WR router in the upstairs office and a Cisco CHS435HDC DVR downstairs in the family. As far as I can tell everything was working fine.
I started thinking now that I have hi speed internet maybe I should check out Pandora, Netflix and whatever else is available through my TV and AV receiver. Since I had a wireless card lying around, I pop that into my computer. With the router next to the PC, the speed was fine. When I moved the router down stairs the speed on the PC dropped significantly. It’s never more than 7Mbps and it’s usually around 3 or 4 Mbps. Up load speed are just under 5Mbps. I tried every coax connection in the house and had similar results. I also notice that the MoCA light in the ONT is flashing.
What do I need to do to get the 15Mbps as advertised on my computer and at the same time have access to Pandora and Netflix and similar items on my TV and receiver?EasyRunnin wrote:
I also moved the computer down to the family room to see if the speed improved. It worked very well when it was near the router. So I figure the wiring is fine and that it is a WiFi issue. Is there a relative easy and economical way to improve the speed up in the office?
You might want to investigate HomePNA powerline networking. This uses your home's existing in-wall electrical cabling to create a network. You can buy a two-piece transmitter/receiver kit for around $70. Plug one side in near the router in the family room, and the other side upstairs near the desktop computer. That should deliver full Ethernet speed--much faster than Wi-Fi--with no need to run new Ethernet cabling. -
Hi!
I try to configure a Cisco 5508 Wireless controller and 25 Air-lap1041 to use as VoIP and data. I read documents, manuals, etc, but the AP doesn't charge the configuration, or not conect with the Wireless Controller, why? No Radius server present, only WPA security.howto, please...
I try to put a static ip in the LAP, with lwapp or capwap command, (LWAPP/CAPWAP ap ip address direccion mascara) and the AP returns "You should configure Domain and Name Server from controller CLI/GUI." and i can't change the name of the AP (Command is disabled).

Hola:
I buy a gigabit switch. I connect the service-port to gigabit switch, and laptop to gigabit switch. I used 192.168.1.x ip address (192.168.1.157 to service-port and 192.168.1.233 to wired port on laptop, well, the laptop has two ip adress, 192.168.1.233 and 209.165.200.2, and the laptop works ok. Ping to 209.165.200.230 -ip address of management interface- and ping to 209.165.200.203 -ip address for AP, is assigned by DHCP of WLC. And i connect the ap to gigabit switch, and the wlc assigns well an ip direction.
I post the run-config and sysinfo log. The gigabit switch is tp-link model tl-sg1005d, no configuration.
Before the logs, I see this message from AP:
*Apr 19 23:10:20.211: %CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: This AP is not supported in controller
version 6.0.199.4 ---->What's mean that? Is it compatible the ap with the WLC? ¿Es compatible el AP con el WLC?
Hola:
He comprado un switch gigabit.
*Apr 19 23:10:20.211: %CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: This AP is not supported in controller
version 6.0.199.4 ---->What's mean that? Is it compatible the ap with the WLC? ¿Es compatible el AP con el WLC?

Cisco Jabber for Windows unable to make calls in softphone mode
Hi,
I am facing an issue when I make a call from jabber in softphone mode to another jabber client my call fails and using wireshark traces I see SIP2.0 503 Service Unavailable.
I have followed the guide and was able to deploy it once before successfully. This is a lab environment and we don't have any CSS or partitions.
If someone can please guide me :)
Regards
HassanHi Hassan,
I found four calls in the trace file with the same calling/called numbers. I analyzed one of them.

Seems like a network issue. TCP connection can't be established with the called jabber client, which as per the trace is 192.168.1.172.
Check for firewalls blocking the connection.
You may take a pcap on the called jabber client side or probably from the call manager, and check for TCP issues.
You mentioned the jabber client's IP as 192.168.1.60 but I see incoming invite from 122.129.75.131. What this IP?

I already mention the TurboACL feature statement. With ACLs, fewer are faster, and how they ordered (especially without TurboACL) impacts CPU. How you order you class-maps, within a policy, and how the match statements are ordered will also have some impact on the CPU load. If buffers are being allocated/deallocated, that too will impact CPU loading. I assume CEF is enabled, but for some traffic, flow caching might decrease CPU load.Remember a software based router, like the 7200s, are, more or less, a computer that takes your configuration and determines what's to be done with every packet it "sees". The more your configuration requires for per packet analysis, the more load for each packet. There are whitepapers addressing high CPU load caused by "process switching", but what you posted appears to be mostly all interrupt processing, which is "fast path", or optimal, packet forwarding. There's not much you can normally do to improve against that, other than insuring your configuration is as optimal as possible for your needs (again, things like sequencing/ordering of statements).
hi ,
thanks very very much for this nice information,
let me answer you :
you said that NPE G2 has finite capacity , but how to know this full capacity ???
i mean that my policy map is matching the traffic , but the matched traffic is not being enhancemend ??!!!
last about two weeks , the matched traffic of youtube was excellent and no interrupt durting the my rush hour.
i didnt change any thing, but my bw increased from 730 Mbps to 760Mbps ,
im un able to make sure that i need to chnage my platform to faster one.
agian
my cpu is 60 % without QOS
after QOS it increase to 80-85 %
agian ,
about NBAR
i want to tell you that i cant depend on NBAR , as an example , im matching the ips of videos of facebook , i cant depend on NBAR because it is https videos.
but in summary ,
my qos is matching well , but i have no real enhancement for my traffic.
did you face my issue before ???
i mean have you see like my problem ?
like my router platform with cpu over 80 % and 750Mbps , and matched qos without good result ??
note that i upgraded to iso 15 , but seems same issue !!!

Cisco ASA 5505 IPSec tunnel won't establish until remote site attempts to connect
I have a site to site IPSec tunnel setup and operational but periodically the remote site goes down, because of a somewhat reliable internet connection. The only way to get the tunnel to re-establish is to go to the remote site and simply issue a ping from a workstation on the remote network. We were having this same issue with a Cisco PIX 506E but decided to upgrade the hardware and see if that resolve the issue. It ran for well over a year and our assumtions was that the issue was resolved. I was looking in the direction of the security-association lifetime but if we power cycle the unit, I would expect that it would kill the SA but even after power cycling, the VPN does not come up automatically.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

i searched for the regulatory domains difference between AIR-LAP1041N-E-K9 and AIR-LAP1041N-A-K9 and didn't find any difference that may affect the operation of this AP.
just to mention that our configuration in WLC for regulatory domains is:
Configured Country Code(s) AR
Regulatory Domain 802.11a: -A
802.11bg: -A
My question is, should i only include my country in the WLC (IQ) to add the requlatry domain (-E) to solve this problem? or changing the country will affect the operation of all working APs??
Appreciate your kind support,
Wisam Q.Hi Ramon,
thank you for the reply but as shown in the below link:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/release/notes/crn7.0.html#wp233793
the WLC in version 7.0.116.0 supports Cisco 1040 seiries APs.
Thanks,
Wisam Q. -
Cisco APs not updating after WLC-update
Hello everyone,
I need to update my 5508 WLCs to a newer software, to support new AP-models.
Started with AIR-CT5500-K9-1-7-0-0-FUS.aes and AIR-CT5500-K9-7-0-240-0.aes, everything worked fine. Pre-Downloaded the newer Image to the APs, restarted the WLCs and everything was ok.
Now I tried to update to 7.6.100.0 as well as 7.4.121.0. Both Versions should support my APs, but it doesn't work at all.
Any ideas are highly appreciated.
If you need further output, just let me know.
Regards,
Manuel

Nachricht geändert durch Manuel SporlederHi Scott,
I am not trying to pre-download it anymore, since this doesn't work at all.
If I just restart the controller, the APs are downloading the image telling me "everything is fine", are rebooted and that stated with the old image again.
This is what you can see in the attached log-file:

Dear folks,
I have a confusion in one of my deployments. My client ordered initially a UCS 220M3 server, which came along with a windows CD. It was supposed to be used as an LMS 4.1 server. Later on there were some variation and customer wants to have prime infrastructure over it. Now I am unable to understand how to do it. The server which came doesnt have any OS. It has one 600 GB hard drive. Can anyone guide me what should i do / or order additionally to work out through this. I am pasting the BoQ for this server which is the original one before variation, the task is to make it work with Prime Infrastructure. Along with this i am attaching some snaps of the physical server and CIMC console...just to clear out any doubts... i will be very thankful if you suggest me the correct way.

1You have the necessary CPU, memory and hard drive specifications for an Express size installation (Reference).
To install Prime Infrastructure 2.0 you will need to first install VMware ESX/ESXi. This is documented in the same Getting Started Guide I linked to above at this link.
Once you get that far along, just follow the setup wizard and installation is pretty simple.
FYI you will get better attention to Prime questions over in the Network Management forum. -
Authentication an admin user on AP1200 with Cisco Secure
Hello,
I am trying to configure a Radius authentication for an administrator logging on an AP1200 via HTTP. On the Cisco Secure ACS server I can see that the authentication was successful and with a trace I can see also the 'Radius Pass' answer coming back to the AP1200.
Unfortunately the administrators gets no access to the AP1200 Web page, and the login windows still ask for username/password. The log of the AP1200 does not give any error message.
The software versions are following:
AP1200 version 12.02A (the last one non-IOS available)
CiscoSecure ACS v2.6 for Windows 2000/NT
Release 2.6(3) Build 2
The return packet 'Radius Pass' answer coming back to the AP1200 is the following:
0000: 00 0b 46 aa a0 e8 00 a0 8e 77 de 75 08 00 45 00 |..F......w.u..E.|
0010: 00 36 0b 70 00 00 7b 11 8b 0e ac 13 58 fd ac 12 |.6.p..{.....X...|
0020: f8 15 06 6d 06 fd 00 22 05 f3*02 2b 00 1a 95 ad |...m..."...+....|
0030: c4 60 e7 21 54 67 2a 60 0e 79 da b1 8f a6 08 06 |.`.!g*`.y......|
0040: ff ff ff ff |....|
I suspect that the the last ff ff ff ff (255.255.255.255) shall be equal to the IP address of the AP1200 which was send within the initial Radius request packet.
Thanks in advance for your answerI had a similar problem with the 350 series. I receieved the following information that resolved my issues.
Using RADIUS, You need to use cisco AV-Pair attribute for admin users with following syntex
aironet:admin-capability=write+ident+admin+firmware
Here is the procedure for the admin user you to define the Cisco AV pair Attributes .
a) On acs select the interface configuration and go to the advance option ,
selct "per-user Tacacs/ radius attribute " click on submit .
b)On ACS , Select network configuration ,
1) check if you have configuration >> Radio ( IOS /PIX available ) on the ACS
if not add NAS type Radius IOS/PIX , note that this needed for IOS / PIX attribute
2) After adding IOS/PIX device , select interface configuration >>Radius ( IOS / PIX )
Enable [026/009/001] "cisco av-pair" option , again make sure that you enable
at user and group level click on submit
3) Add a user ( User setup >> ADD/EDIT ) to restrict administrator access control
1) enable and configure cisco 09\001 cisco av-pair using
aironet:admin-capability=write+ident+admin+firmware

Cisco SPA 112 outbound call issue.
Firstly, i applogize if i havent posted this in the correct section but this was my best educated guess.
Recently upgraded to a Cisco SPA 112 which works fine.. but only for a few days,
then If i try to call a number i get the dial tone but the number fails to
connect & all i hear is silence. If i hang up the phone to retry it fails to
disconnect correctly and i get no dial tone for several minutes. After leaving the phone
hungup for a few mins the dail tone returns but the same problem is still present.
A hard/soft reset of the 112 fixes the issue temporarily, but reoccures again withinn a few days.
Running Sipgate on lines 1 and 2 on Virgin media UK ISP.
Model:
SPA112, 2 FXS
Hardware Version:
1.0.0
Boot Version:
1.0.1 (Oct 6 2011 - 20:04:00)
Firmware Version:
1.3.1 (003) Dec 17 2012
Recovery Firmware:
1.0.2 (001)
Im no expert and now at a loss and could do with some expert help tbh.Dan, i will see how it goes over the next week or so with the updated F/W & shall report back, and thanks for the link as i wasnt sure how to save a syslog.
Should i set the verb as high as 6, or is that an over kill.
Gabriel, I have an FTP running on my sat receiver which i will attempt to use to catch the log, but as for the the "sipgate registration", when i loose conection my ata reports its still registered & the sipgate URL, isnt in real time as far as i can tell.
My ata would have normally shown its fault since my first post 6 days ago, but unfortunately a recent power cut has reset my testing period back to 1 day. -
Hi,
I have the following escenario and I'm having some issues getting calls to most of the offices; the strange part it that the calls work for about 4 out of the 18 locations and they're all configured the same; here is the equipment I'm using:
Cisco 827--------PIX-------Cable modem
The 827 has a 4 port voice module and this is what happens when we try to call other locations which in most cases have 2620 or 2621 routers with voice cards as well:

This setup worked long time ago when the router was on the outside with no firewall; and again with the current set up, it works for 4 of the locations and I'd like to know if somebody over there has a similar scenario and would like to share any information.
Thanks very muchI think its some config problems in the PIX .
