Hi Cisco Expert,
We have an issue on our C20 where the video calls were disconnected exactly every 15 minutes.

Hi Ralph,
Do you have any Riverbed or Network Performance Enhancement devices inbetween?
Do you notice video degradation around the 16 minute mark on the codec which looses audio?
Have you Implemented QoS within the TP Environment? It sounds like you are having an issue with QoS Real Time Queues with Audio (EF Tagged maybe?)
I would recommend sitting a wireshark on a SPAN port within the link looking at the RTP media stream and then go from there. see if you can see issues with the RTP Stream look for packet loss at the 16 minute mark etc.
@Chris I assume it a VCS Control that is being used there as it internal MPLS
EDIT:Has it ever worked ok before? and has any changes happened in the environment recently that has effected it?
I would also look if possible having wireshark 2 sessions identical at same time to compare them one of each side of the link etc. These issues can be tricky to nail down.

  • Cisco Codec C90 screen refresh/flicker

    Hi guys,
We are currently experiencing issues where we have a Cisco Codec C90 with two outputs to two screens (HDMI1 & 2) Every now and then (randomly) we will see a quick horizontal flick run up the screen similar to a refresh…
This can some times happen on either screen. From the codec outputs they enter into an AMX switcher which then leads on to the displays etc… Now, it seams reseating the HDMI cables between the codec and AMX seems to resolve the issue for the interim until it returns later on.
I am trying to see in the logs of the codec if there is anything that matches the time that this occurs as we are in between if this is the codec or AMX controller that has the issue?
Below are the logs where I have seen the screen connected to HDMI#1 flicker within this minute; I have limited exp with codec fault finding so was wondering if someone can see something that sticks out to them?

    Any help much appreciated!

From those messages it looks like the endpoint is seeing the external source disconnect and then reconnect (and then renegotiate the EDID info).  So I'd been looking at your AMX switcher - have you got another one you can swap it with to see if the issue stays with this room, or follows the switcher?  Or can you bypass it with a different cable or device?

  • Airport keep disconnecting every few minutes

    Hi,
I don't know why, but my airport keeps disconnecting every few minutes, although it reconnects after that.
I'm sure there's no problem with my router since other PCs in my home are fine.
It's totally fine when I use my windows in the macbook (via bootcamp).
Anyone has the same problem or anyone knows the solution?
    Thanks.

I've had this issue for about a week and it has made my Macbook nearly impossible to use for anything other than local disk work.
Last night I tried running the standalone upgrade and it worked beautifully, however, upon booting up this AM I'm back to square one, constantly dropping the connection, ran the standalone update again and back in business with no drops.
While this is appears to be my temp workaround I don't want to be doing this on a daily basis.

  • Skype Disconnected Every Few Minutes

I upgrade my service from wireless to uverse and that includes phone, cable and internet. Since then I  noticed that when I am on a call on Skype, I get disconnected every few minutes even though I am still connected to the internet.  Didn't have this problem before.

I've been having the same problem, and so I tried the solution suggested above. However, I still get disconnected after being away from my computer for just a few minutes. Although we have wireless and I thought that perhaps this is the reason I get disconnected, my husband can be using the internet on his computer at the exact time that I get disconnected, so I know that I'm not losing the wireless signal. Any other suggestions?
    Thanks

  • DSL Connection disconnecting every minute

I'm having major issues. I'm in California and as of 6:20pm August 2nd, 2009. My connection has been disconnecting every minute. I restarted my computer and turned my modem off. When I'm browsing through the Internet it disconnects me, and when I try to browse through websites it says "Waiting for website" its getting really annoying. Is there disconnecting issues to anyone in California, especially Southern California?
Keep in mind I've never had this sort of problem before. Is like Verizon doing some kind of work on their DSL lines?
Message Edited by MEMDB on 08-02-2009 06:45 PM

Here is what most of all that stuff means..
Margin (dB) - Signal to noise margin. 6 is pretty bad possibly unusable at times, 20 is very good. You normally want 12dB or better IIRC from back in my DSL days. The higher the number, the better to a point.
Line Attenuation - Measure the amount the signal has degraded. Below 20dB is excellent, above 50 is poor, fill in the dots for anything in between.
Transmit Power - The higher the number, the more power is required to transmit. This number will vary based on the other numbers.

  • EA 2700 disconnecting every once in awhile. (30/60minutes)

    Heya,
I'm having issues with a newly bought EA 2700 router, I'm getting disconnected every 30-60 minutes. (It's a brief disconnect for about 10seconds, perhaps a huge packet loss or something?)
I've tried connecting directly to the modem and that seemed to have fixed the problem, so I think that it is a router issue...?
Perhaps somebody here knows how to fix this. Would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: I'm connected with a wire. Also, my download/upload/ping is 35mbps download, 35ish mbps upload, and 8ms. (I have a 35mbps connection so that's fine) But when I connect my PC to the modem directly, my MS becomes 5, and my upload jumps to 77mbps. The download stays the same... I thought that was quite strange. ;o

Hmm alright. I've already reset it multiple times, also reverted it to factory settings twice. But I keep disconnecting every hour orso. The firmware is up to date as well. My NIC is running at 1.0 gbps, I'm not sure where I can see what the router is at however. But I assume 1gbps as well? I've tried disabling UPnP, disabling IPv6 at the network adapter. I also tried to set the router to Bridge Mode, that made my upload go up to 77mbps again and my Ping down to 5, but I disconnected every few minutes for a while, then the day after (I went to bad cause it was driving me insane) it seemed to work for a while, but then I started getting disconnected for brief moment again. So I put it back to automatic DHCP config.
Edit: I also tried to empty the %temp% folder, that seemed to help, but not for long. (Perhaps not at all.)
Edit2: I also replaced my network cable twice, but seeing as the issues went away when I plugged directly into the modem I figured that that couldn't be the issue either...
Edit3: I keep remembering things that I tried to do in order to fix this, I also reinstalled my network drivers. ;-)

  • Why does my router disconnect every time I sleep the computer? Why did this only start to happen recently?

Why does my router disconnect every time I sleep the computer? Why did this only start to happen recently?

Actually it does with Ethernet too: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2412?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
What happens when the Mac goes to sleep (not just into idle mode or display sleep)?
    On all Macs:
The microprocessor goes into a low-power mode
Video output is turned off, and a connected display may turn off or enter its own idle state
Apple-supplied hard disks spin down; third-party hard disks may spin down
    On portable Macs:
The Ethernet port turns off, if applicable (see note below)
    Expansion card slots turn off
The built-in modem, if present, turns off (see note below)
An AirPort card, if present, turns off (see note below)
The USB ports only responds to the power key on an external keyboard (see below)
The optical media drive, if present, spins down
Audio input and output turns off
Keyboard illumination, if a feature of your portable computer, turns off
But see the note about selecting, "Wake For Network Access" in Energy Saver preferences.
Note: Portable computers have no network connectivity when in sleep mode, but can wake if the Energy Saver option "Wake for network access" is enabled. If you wish to use file sharing or don't want to interrupt your Internet connection, you should not manually put the computer to sleep, and you should drag the "Computer sleep" slider to Never.

  • WRT160N disconnects every 10 seconds, reconnects itself a few seconds after

    Hello,
I just setup the 160N, firmware 3.0.0.2.  I just want to use it as an access point on my network for a small building that only has 2 users in it.  I setup with the IP I wanted, plugged my network into one of the numbered ports (not the internet port) and when it is connected it works fine, however it disconnects every 10 seconds or so.  I tried saber tooths solution: Channel to 11, beacon to 50, fragmentation to 2202 and RTS to 2203.  This would not connect so I changed the channel to 9 and it connects but still has the disconnect every 8-10 seconds thing.
    Thanks!

Sorry I am 3.0.01, I also tried disabling the SPI firewall, I also uninstalled LELA, but I can't see how they could make a difference.  Also I tried someone else's advice of 2306 and 2307, those did not work either.

  • Time Capsule disconnects every few days

Hi, my Time Capsule disconnects every week to ten days, as indicated by a flashing yellow light.  To reconnect it, I have to unplug and disconnect it from the ethernet cable.   It's then able to reconnect until the next failure.  This seems to be a different problem than previously described in this forum, as it is not able to reconnect on its own.
I'm using an iMac running on OS 10.6.8.
Capacity is 999.9 GB of which 192 GB is used on disc.
The Time Capsule is a 1TB Sim Dualband Time Capsule bought on May 21, 2011.  It's past the end of the one year warranty but has been doing this pretty much from the start.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,

    GAIG??
Good As It Gets. (You used the term!!)
How do I access the logs?
logs are in advanced area of v5 utility. there is no access to logs in the v6 utility.. I guess Apple thought that looking at logs was beyond the average users ability so no longer needed in new slick interfaces.
Use v5 utility.. if you run Lion download it.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
If you are on Mountain Lion.. then you will need to trick it to install. Download and install and run unpkg.
    http://www.timdoug.com/unpkg/
Download the 5.6 utility from reference above.. open the dmg file to see the pkg file.. AirPortUtility56.pkg.. drag that file over unpkg.. it will create a new directory on your desktop. of the same name.. drill down, Applications, Utilities. There is the real utility.. drag it to your main Applications Utilities directory. Ignore completely the toyland v6 and run only 5.6.
"is the TC router or bridged or worse possible, join wireless network."  - Are you saying joining a wireless network may fix it or that being in one may be the cause?
    Thanks.
You have not provided any indication of the network layout. If you want to pursue this I need full info..
Is the TC the main router or in bridge mode?
What broadband do you have? What modem? Is it a router?
Have you tested with the TC out of operation.. with another router?
Give complete details... that way we can narrow down the issue and work out if the TC is in best possible mode.
The worst mode as I indicated above is join wireless due to wireless being flakey at any time and TC not the most stable. This will be slow, although ironically the other problems might stop.. who knows unless you try it.
What OS is your computer running? If you are on Mountain Lion, well join the club.. this is a major issue and I doubt there is a solution.
But you can start by setting SMB names.. short, no spaces pure alphanumeric for everything.
    TC name ... TC
Wireless names.. different for both bands. TC24ghz TC5ghz
    Hard disk share name.. Data
If the TC is the main router set very short lease time for dhcp.. 20min. and see if that improves anything.

  • GTalk keeps disconnecting every 5 mins

    Hi,
I bought a new MacBook Pro running Lion and am having problem using GTalk on iChat. I configured GTalk using both Jabber and Google Talk drop down but have had the same problem.
I keep getting disconnected every 5 mins and would need to login again. Are there any settings that I am missing?

    Hi,
Do you have any other Accounts set up in iChat ?
Bonjour might be easiest if you have another Mac to "Chat" with as we might be talking about Wifi Drops rather than a Server end issue.
Have you tried creating a Second Mac User Account for testing and trying it there ?

I live on the 20th floor of apartment building. Here what I see from what I believe is the NID for the apartment from where a tech was repairing the phone line about 7 years ago. There are 4 bundles of wires. One or two of those bundles have dozens of wires protruding from them. Of those wires about 6-8 lead into a gray plate that has about 10 screws. These wires are wrap around the screws. There are no test jacks of any kind, it looks like it predates DSL modems. No longer have voice service or a physical land line phone, drop it 3 years ago .

I have a late 2013 MacBook Pro running OSX Mavericks 10.9.2 connected using AirPlay to an updated AppleTV.  I am NOT running battery power.  Using iPhoto I am playing a slideshow on the TV.  The slidewhow runs seamlessly but the AirPlay connection automatically disconnects every hour (exactly one hour).
It is not a networking issue associated with any latency or interference.  There are no other devices on the wireless network; the environment is free of other sources of competing RF energy.  I have no overlapping channels, competing radios or other sources of RF energy in the same frequency range (I live in the country and the nearest home is more than 1/2 mile away).  There are no operating microwave ovens, bluetooth devices, cordless phones, baby monitors or other potential competitors in the area.  Even if such interference were present it would not account for an interruption that occurs at exact 60-minute intervals.  To further prove this I have verified that the problem still exists when connected via Cat5e.
When the AirPlay connection is broken the slideshow continues to play on the MacBook.  If I stop the slideshow and re-start it the mysterious 60-minute disconnect counter does NOT reset; it still disconnects exactly one hour after the AirPlay connection started.  This suggest the issue is not a timer or setting in iPhoto.
I tried unchecking the "Automatic graphic switching" box in the Energy Saver section of System Preferences but this actaully caused a random freeze in the slide show.
I suspect there is a setting somewhere that I am unaware of or have overlooked.  Has anyone had this problem or can you suggest a fix?  There are lots of posts on the Internet of people having AirPlay disconnect at irregular intervals but I cannot find one that addresses a non-networking-related every 60-minute disconnect.
    Any insight will be appreciated.

It may be worth looking at what your DHCP lease is set for on your dhcp server. If it is set for a 1 hour lease it may be the cause. You could try setting up the ATV and the Macbook Pro with a static IP or set your dhcp lease to expire at a longer interval, say 4 hours to see if it goes longer than an hour. I have seen dhcp lease setting cause this type of problem in the past.
