Cisco Connect - Where to find Guest Password

CAn anyone help me please. I just installed by router on my Tower but my husband's laptop keeps asking for a Guest Password. Can anyone tell me where I find this?
Thank you. a Cisco Guest Access window opens and asks for the password. I have the password and type it in on his laptop but it keeps saying it is incorrect and I have changed it on my tower and tried again but still it will not allow him access even though there is a connection.

@ nekaufer
Guest access allows you to limit and provide access to guest users on your wireless network. Its configuration such as the password and the number of guest allowed is available through the Cisco Connect software and on the web interface  on selected Linksys models. By the way, what is the model of your router?

My router is working find but Cisco Connect can't find it. I'm locked out of making changes.

I'm trying to find my username and password via Cisco connect. 192.168.1.1 requires my username and password to continue. I appear to be dead unless I do a H/W router reset and risk shutting down my network...I'm worried it won't come back alive!

When you connect to the Guest network, you wouldn’t be asked for a password. The guest password would only be prompted once you open your internet browser.

  • Where to find the password recommended by Safari

    Hi,
I'm using OS X 10.9.3. I was registering on a website when Safari automatically says it can recommend a password for me, and the password will be stored in iCloud keychain. I accepted the password and registered successfully. Then I wanted to find my password. I looked at the ``KeyChain Access'', but I couldn't find it there. I also looked at the ``Password'' table under Safari Preferences, but also yielded no result. Do you know where I can find the password? Thanks a lot!

You should be able to access passwords in Safari > Preferences > Passwords
When you checked Keychain Access, did you select Passwords on the left under Category ?

  • Where to find a password which i have forgot

    Hi all ,
I forgot the pw to enter into sqlplus . Please let me know how can i find it.

If ur talking about SYS user, and if you have windows OS, and if you can work on the server, change sqlnet.file entry of AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES to SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS) and login to sys user as dba with ANY password, then change it to your choice, for any other user, ask your DBA to change the password. For other scenarios, wait for more replies.

My newly installed Cisco Connect soifware shows my local network's password in the clear.  This means anyone using my PC can easily find the network's password.

Welcome to the Cisco Home Community.
No one on this site knows or can determine the guest password. Only the Network Owner knows and can check the router settings or Cisco Connect settings for the guest password. You may try to retreive the guest password by following the link below.

Are you pertaining to the Cisco Connect Guest Password? What is your router model? If you set up your router using Cisco Connect, you can find it there.
If you are pertaining to the password you use to access the routers web admin, default is to leave username blank and type admin as the password. If you initially set it up, the only way to recover it is to reset the router.
If you are pertaining to the Security password, one that you use to connect iphones, laptops etc wirelessly to your router, just login to the routers Web interface and you can find it there. Type 192.168.1.1 on your browsers address field.

  • E1000 Guest password setup not working - security is not activated

I used Cisco connect to set up guest access with a secure password. Cisco Connect now indicates guess access is allowed and shows the password. However, when I actually try to connect to the guest network, it shows no security at all, and I can join the network without a password. What could be wrong?

In this case, Guest network gets connect to the network without asking the password. But any one try to access the internet then at that point of time it will ask for the guest password..

  • Advanced Configuration vs Cisco Connect

I just bought and configured a new Linksys E3000 and found out you cannot change or modify the Guest Wireless settings outside of Cisco Connect (i.e. how many guest users allowed, guest password, guest SSID, etc.).  Being a network engineer I quickly skipped the Cisco Connect setup and went straight to Advanced Configuration for more control and customization of the router features and functions.  Also once you use Advanced Configuration you cannot go back to the dumbed down Cisco Connect to access the guest settings.  What gives?  I would think you could do everything in Advanced Configuration (and them some) that you could configure in Cisco Connect...

the cisco connect was made for you to sert up the router quickly . like it said easy set up . if you use the set up page of your router and do the set up there . yes you may do so . but for the internet connection only .but for the wireless settings you can use the cisco connect for the wireless set up .
the reason why it has cisco connect and has the feature for guest access coz so that  your guest will have a different profile and they will not be able to mess up your internal connection . guest access is an unsecured network henc when you launch a browser that will ask for a password . which means that it is still secured

  • Can I use Cisco Connect if I change the default router IP address?

I am adding my E3000 into an existing network behind a SonicWall firewall.  I am using an address scheme of 192.168.168.xxx  When I change the router address to 192.168.168.10 and disable DHCP in Cisco Connect, I am left with only being able to access the router through the web interface.  This seems pretty lame; I've read other threads on Web vs. Cisco Connect.  Is there a quick fix that will allow Cisco Connect to still find the router after I've made (just) these two changes?
    --David C

Yes you still will be able to use the Cisco Connect software if you have changed the Routers IP address, But if you change the Router password of Wireless Security then you wont be able to use Cisco Connect software.

  • Cisco connect

When I try to load Cisco connect i get a message "cannot access your router".  My smartphone recognizes the router

There are three (3) reasons why you are getting this error message:
~~ You are trying to access your router’s wireless settings using a wireless computer connected to a different network.
~~ Your router’s wireless settings may have been changed in the web-based setup page instead of in Cisco Connect.
~~ Your router’s password may have been changed using another computer in your network.
There are three (3) ways to resolve this issue:
    i. Updating Your Easy Setup Key
ii. Manually Connecting to Your Wireless Network
iii. Resetting and re-installing Cisco Connect on your main router

  • What is cisco and where do i find my password

Every time I go to get online cisco comes up and wants a guest password.  where do i find that?

It sounds like cisco is the name of someones wi-fi network.  If it is not your, then you have no right to access it.  If it is yours, then the password will be whatever you set it to be.

That password in in the router that you installed.  Usually under the wireless settings.  Consult you manual.

  • Can Cisco Connect be password protected?

I set up a E3200 today for a friend who has a small business. He has 6 staff in his office where it is installed.
I installed it using the web interface for the router, but wanted to show him how to change the guest password using the Cisco Connect software. He also wanted to block Facebook and a couple other time-wasting sites with the parental controls.
When we started Cisco Connect, we were both shocked to see that the guest and private wireless password were viewable from the main screen with just a click or two through different windows. No where did it prompt us for a password to enter the setup portions.I understand that you have to be on the LAN to get access to this, but this means that if any of his staff are computer savvy, they could hit the Linksys website themselves and download the Cisco Connect software and make any changes they want.
Is there a way to protect the router from unintended changes from someone using the Cisco Connect software?

In my opinion, this seems to be a HUGE security issue.
If I knew someone was using a Linksys router in a small office, and I wanted to hack it. All I would do is put Cisco Connect on a laptop, walk in to that office, find an open network port and connect my laptop to it. I could capture all the security settings and then leave and come back later to get on their wifi network.
I understand about physical security, social engineering, and all that. I just cant believe that the passwords to the router / wifi are freely accessible through a software app which requires no authentication to get in to. Seems like a very half-baked application.

  • Cisco connect software wants to match the admin password to cisco connect password?

As much as possible i want only one SSID for my router, so i dont want to have another SSID for guest. To protect my router
settings I need to have a different admin password from those of passphrase (i.e. wifi password).
Why is it that cisco connect software wants to match the admin password to cisco connect password?
The cisco connect password is the same as the passphrase. I think its unsafe to have similar passes for both admin password
    and passphrase.
Is there any way that cisco connect software would work under different admin password & passphrase?

From what I can tell, the router is set up so that it broadcasts two seperate SSID's with two unique passwords.  If you logon to the SSID-Guest network, you are not allowed any kind of Admin access to the router.  If you attempt to use the Cisco Connect software, you'll eventually get an error saying that it could not find a network (unless there is an unconfigured router running factory defaults in range).  I verified this using a Cisco Linksys E4200 and a few laptops.
So long as you utilize the guest network properly, you should be able to maintain security on your network and use Cisco Connect.  Obviously this isn't ideal for most commercial use, but then again I don't know why you would want to use this software on that scale.
If you are trying to keep one SSID for the network, I think you're going to have to use the web based service and do a little manual configuration.
TLDR:  Seta different password for the guest network and never give out the primary network password.  Guests don't have admin access, even while using Cisco Connect so long as they are connected to the -Guest SSID.
