Cisco CTS-1300

Looking for direction: We have been asked to install and calibrate a Cisco CTS-1300. This brand new (never unboxed) CTS-1300 has been sitting on the client premise waiting to be installed since 2014. The present software version on the system is 1.8****. My problem is when I try to access the Troubleshooting > Hardware Setup > Displays, in order to set up the camera calibration. I get an on screen message that say's "The Cisco TelePresence system is updating-Depending on which components are being updated, this could take less than a minute or as much as 30 or more minutes. Troubleshooting is disabled until the updates complete. Please try again in a few minutes." Please note, the system is not connected to any network, it’s sitting as a standalone right now. We are using a laptop connected to the auxiliary data port on the CTS-1300 via a crossover cable. Please instruct me as to how I can get pass this message and continue on with calibrating the system. The customer’s idea was to have the system physically set up and camera calibration completed, so that when they ultimately connect their system to the CUCM all should be ready. Looking for some answers.
Thank you,
LW

did you try to connect to the codec via the console port? did you do a tcpdump to see if the file is really transfered? did you try to receive the file from the tftp server and do a md5 checksum test to see if its the right one? You are sure that its the right software version, ....?
If you have a service contract and you do not get an answer here, please consider to escalate the thread to Cisco TAC

    Hi Team,
I have Deployed one CTS 1300 installation at client location.
Actually we dismantle the device and Re-installed to other loaction.
We are facing the issue for left active speaker camera is taking little more time to sweep almost 8-9 second.
Compare to left Right and center  moving swiftly within 3 sec.
I have done the First time hardware setup everything and calibration for MIC,speaker, camera.
please suggest what troubleshooting i need to done from my side.
Thanks in advance for your support.

    A few things to consider.
    1) Has the Table Configuration been modified as described in the guide below.
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/telepresence/cts_1300/cts_1300_assembly_guide/cts_1300_assembly_guide/1300_first_time_setup.html#wp1111429
    2) Are there any microphone errors in the web gui?
    3) Can you check the cabling of the left microphones. In the past I've seen that an installer plugg the left positional microphone into where the left microphone should be and vice versa. This caused a delay in switching on one given segment.

  • Cisco Aironet 1300 QoS

Hello, I have 2 Cisco Aironet 1300 Bridges which provide data and voice communication between 2 buildings. Up until recently QoS has not been needed, but lately there appears to be congestion due to reports of poor voice quality. Building A houses a V3000 NBX Telephone system, Building B houses approximately 30 remote IP phones. Building A and Building B are approximately 100 yards apart. No VLAN's. Due to myself being an extreme noob to Cisco bridges, I was hoping some of you may have had experience in setting this up and hopefully provide some tips. I need to prioritize traffic on UDP ports 2093-2096 and TCP port 1040. Thank you in advance for any suggestions. My current running config is below:

Those are very old bridges. So if they are still functioning okay, do they require external antennas or not and do you have external antennas if they do?

  • Cisco Aironet 1300 Series Power

Can the 1310ap receive it's power from a POE switch?

    Hi Edward,
Sadly the 1310 cannot be powered by PoE ,but, the Power Injector can be up to 100 meters away from the unit.
Dual coaxial cable to run from the power injector to the 1300. See attached notes:
    Cisco Aironet 1300 Series
Cisco Aironet 1300 Series Access Point/Bridge Power Injector
The Cisco Aironet 1300 Series Outdoor Access Point/Bridge Power Injector, converts the standard 10/100 BaseT Ethernet interface that is suitable for weather protected areas to a dual F-Type connector interface for coax cables that are more suitable for harsh outdoor environments. The Power Injector also provides power to the outdoor unit over the same cables with a power discover feature and surge protection. To support longer cable runs from your wireless network switch or router, the Power Injector LR is designed to accommodate up to a 100 meter coaxial cable run plus 100 meters of indoor cat5 cable?enabling total cable runs up to 200 meters. The Cisco Aironet 1300 Series Outdoor Access Point/Bridge ships with the Power Injector LR2 and an AC power supply.

    Ethernet Ports
The access point/bridge dual-coax Ethernet ports consists of a pair of 75-ohm F-type connectors, linking the unit to your 100BASE-T Ethernet LAN through the power injector. The dual-coax cables are used to send and receive Ethernet data and to supply inline 48-VDC power from the power injector to the access point/bridge.
    Power
The access point/bridge receives inline power from the Cisco Aironet Power Injector (hereafter called the power injector). Dual-coax cables are used to provide Ethernet data and power from the power injector to the access point/bridge. The power injector is an external unit designed for operation in a sheltered environment, such as inside a building or vehicle. The power injector also functions as an Ethernet repeater by connecting to a Category 5 LAN backbone and using the dual-coax cable interface to the access point/bridge.

  • Cisco Aironet 1300

I recently deployed a cisco 1300 airnet ap/bridge to slove a conectivity problem with are companys laptop users in a remote bldg approx 410feet from the main bldg,i first used the 1300 with the intergrated 13dbi antenna,(poor /weak signial)so i then ordered the 1300 with the external ant port, and used the 5.2dbi omnidirectional mast antenna, and my signial is still very weak /poor for such as close distance from the ap?any clues would be a blessing, ive double checked my inital config settings, and they appear to be ok, im using this ap connected to a simple router (it to is a cisco product mfg by linkys #WRT600-N also a wirless unit, the only thing im wondering is ,could it have something to do with the radio still being on in the wrt600-n,causeing a conflict somehow??i pluged my ethernet into the spare port on the linkys unit to give the 1300 the internet, and within a 300 ft range the cisco 1300 unit performs well with signal readings on my laptop good to execelent?,so im sorta confident the 1300 is setup properly?anyone have any ideas,or should i give up the wireless idea to allow seemless usage of laptops to our netwrk,? and bury a 2 inch conduit with a cat 5 cable to connect the problem bldg,I look foward to any hints or possibile ideas as a way to slove my wireless connectivity issues, thank you in advance

Not sure about what you try to achieve... are you using the 1300 to connect 2 buildings? In a point to point fashion? Or are you using it to cover laptops 410 feet away? In the last case, you face what is called the near far issue, your laptops hear the signal from the AP, but the AP doesn't hear the answer from the 2.2 dBi weak clients. It is unlikely you will be able to make it work if it is the case.
a 13 dBi antenna will anyway give you better results than a 5.2 dBi, as more gain usually also means better receptivity, but that probably won't solve the near far issue.

  • Image Recovery for Cisco Aironet 1300 Outdoor Access Point

We purchased two 1300 APs for outside. There is a new release for the image that we wanted to use so, we have the latest security updates. We downloaded, logged onto the access point just fine, but the image never took. After four hours with a direct connection, it was still going and this morning we came in and it just keep rebooting. Our network guy states it looks like a corrupt image. We can barely do anything and since there is no "mode" button like the earlier models, I have not found anything on web sites or forums to help us reload a good image to the access point. I would appreciate any insight someone has and/or where to look for this. I logged on and downloaded about every manual on the 1300 I could find, but have not found a good way to fix this. Not even the upgrade tool will connect since it just keeps rebooting.

    Hi Bruce,
    Because (as you correctly noted) the 1300 does not have a mode button you could try this method;
Complete the steps in this section in order to reset Cisco IOS Software-based bridges:
If the privileged command prompt ap# is available in the CLI, the write erase command and the reload command erase the startup configuration and reset the unit.
If the GUI is available, choose System Software > System Configuration. Press the Reset to Defaults button.
Aironet 1300 Series Bridges do not have a MODE button to reset the AP to factory defaults. So, if neither the GUI or CLI is available with sufficient privileges, complete these steps to delete the current configuration and return the entire bridge settings to the factory defaults using the CLI.
Open the CLI with a Telnet session or a connection to the bridge console port.
Reboot the bridge by removing and reapplying power.
Allow the bridge to boot until the command prompt appears and the bridge begins to inflate the image.
Press ESC when you see lines that are similar to these on the CLI:
    Loading "flash:/c1310-k9kw-7mx.v122_15_ja.200040314-k9w7-mx.v122_15_ja.20040314"
...#############################################################################Note: In order to access the boot loader, you must press ESC twice. But this action depends on the terminal-emulation software that you use.
Messages that are similar to these appear:

After the bridge reboots, reconfigure the bridge with the web browser interface, the Telnet interface, or Cisco IOS Software commands.
Note: The bridge is configured with the factory default values that include:
The IP address, which is set to receive an IP address with DHCP. If you do not have a DHCP server, you can access the bridge using the default IP address of 10.0.0.1 using HTTP/HTTPS or Telnet. Once you gain access to the bridge via Telnet or GUI, you can modify the IP address of the bridge.
Note: This default IP address of 10.0.0.1 becomes available only for a short period. So, make sure that you assign your own IP address to the bridge within that period of time.
The default username and password, "Cisco".

    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps430/products_password_recovery09186a00800949d0.shtml#ca_1310_ser
One other thing, be careful with the new IOS that you aren't loading a LWAPP Recovery Image. (it almost sounds like what may have happened)
    Hope this helps!

  • Enable HTTP Cisco CTS Codec Codec-PRI-G2

    Hi,
We want to access the CTS Codec over http without being redirected to https.
Is there a way we can disable redirect or disable https itself.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi Rameez..
Since the purpose of https is for security which is default web access protocol for the codec we don't have configuration to disable the https and access the system using http which is unsecure. You can try using SNMP to query the cts codec.

I want to know if i can talk OSPF through a wireless connection formed by 2 cisco aironet 1300?
I mean i am not sure if the access point is going to pass the OSPF's multicast traffic.
    best regards

  • 1300 Bridge Associating to non Cisco AP?

Can a 1300 wireless bridge/ap be set to associate to a non Cisco Access point as a client in AP mode? Is this possible or are the 1300's only capable of associating to Cisco Bridges in Bridge mode?

The Cisco Aironet 1300 Series Outdoor Access Point or Bridge is Wi-Fi-certified when functioning as an access point, and is compatible with all Wi-Fi-certified client adaptors. In addition, it is compatible with all approved Cisco Compatible WLAN client devices from participating companies that support the unique Cisco Aironet innovations. However, when functioning as a bridge, the Cisco Aironet 1300 Series is only compatible with Cisco Aironet products (while in bridge mode, the Cisco Aironet 1300 Series is still able to accept client associations from Wi-Fi certified, Cisco, and Cisco Compatible Extensions client devices).
