Cisco Cube Flow around mode supported for CVP 10

Hi Guys,
We are deploying CVP 10.5, our ingress gateway for the CVP is a CUBE. We know that in CVP 8.0 the media flow around is not supported, but we don't know if in the version 10 is supported. does anybody knows about it?

Hi,
Please refer to page no 75. Its mentioned --With flow-around mode, you lose the ability to do DTMF interworking, transcoding, and other key functions such as telephone and media capabilities.

  • Cisco Prime LMS 4.1 - Support for Cisco Catalyst 3560-C Series Switches

    Hello together
I have a customer which uses the following switch. Last year I have installed LMS 4.1 for him to manage the switches. Unfortunatly the switch model is not supported. According to the information found on the following site the switch is supported for most of the modules in LMS:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_lan_management_solution/4.1/device_support/table/lms41sdt.html
The oid object of the device is the following: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1465
Supported Software: 12.2(55)EX (Customer has 12.2(55)EX3
    Version Support Type: Device Update
So I updated all device updates I was able to find.
Step 1: For that I went to Admin > System > Software Center > Schedule Device Downloads and created a job where I have downloaded the latest versions of all packages.
Step 2: Installed the downloaded packages Admin > System > Software Center > Device Update and installed all the packages.
Unfortunatly I don't see the same result like described in the Supported Device Table for LMS 4.1.
    - Cisco View -> works
    - Inventory and Config Collection -> works
    - Fault Monitor not working -> Error Code Unsupported
    - Network Topology Layer 2 Services -> Device Type ciscoProducts.1465, Symbol Question Mark
    - VLAN Management -> Doesn't work
    - User Tracking > seems also not to work
When I open the report for supported devcies (Reports > System > Device Support) and search for C3560C... I find the following devices, but not mine which i need:
    C3560C-8PC-S     .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1466
    C3560CG8PC         .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1317
    C3560CCG8TC     .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1318
    wsC3560CPD8ptS     .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1368
Does anybody have experience with the same switch type / model? Am I doing something wrong or is this type of switch not implemented correctly till now? Further the docuemntation supported devices would be wrong.
    Thanks for any feedback Erich

Thanks but I just heard back from my Cisco SE and he assures me that an AP will NOT use up a license.
I've asked him to verify his answer for me.
Is your answer based on real world expereince (the best there is)?  That is, are you running Prime LMS 4.1 and does it indeed use up a license for each light-weight AP it discovers & manages?
Thanks for mentioning options 1-3 but I do not wish to employ any of them.  I don't mind buying the additional licenses for APs ... I just need to know if I have to or not.

  • EDQ Address Verification level mode supported for Siebel CRM

    Hi,
We are in process of implementing Oracle Enterprise Data quality for SIebel CRM Public sector 8.2.2.4 version for our client and are awaiting license. We have few questions on how Address verification process works with Loqate postal files and how the validated address will be updated back in Siebel. I observed in few documentations that the Address verification level can be set to Verify or Match where Verify mode will return only one validated address in response and Match will return multiple close matched address along with the match score as a response.
Can you please let me know if Siebel with EDQ AV supports both Verify and Match mode? Any information around this question or the document which talks more about this feature is highly appreciated. Thanks for the assistance
    Regards
    Siva Sonti

    Hi,
I cannot comment on the UCM roadmap since it is not under my remit.
    Re. your questions:
    1. EDQ returns a fair amount of information back in the response and any of the attributes can be returned to Siebel and displayed by customizing the mappings to the service. This includes a textual description of the verification code and an indication based on the verification level and the configured thresholds that shows whether or not the address was corrected/enhanced (verified = Y/N). See example below.
    2. Yes, if you require a V (Verified) result with a minimum level of 4, you will be correcting addresses if they are verified to premise or subpremise level. If a subpremise was input but could not be verified you would get a P4 (partially verified to premise level) result, or if there were several possible subpremises that it fuzzy matched, you would get an A4 (ambiguously verified to level 4) result, which you could choose to accept or suppress based on the 'allowedverificationresultcodes' threshold.

  • Dialout prefix support for CVP courtesy callback??

    Hey guys,
Got a UCCE 8.5 + CVP 8.5 environment with courtesy callback. Everything is set up, and CVP is passing back the 10 digit number to the gateway when an agent is ready and it's trying to make a callback attempt. This is a problem however, as we really need a prefix on that number for outbound dialpeer pattern matching. e.g. 19195551212 or 79195551212 instead of just 9195551212. Maybe I'm missing something but I can't seem to find out how to do this...nothing obvious in the ICM/CVP scripts, etc. Can anyone provide some pointers?
    Thanks!

Can you select dial-peer based on source address?
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/docs/ios/voice/sip/configuration/guide/sip_cg-bind.html
I'm sure there are other more elagant solutions but this is the first thing that came to my mind.

  • For updating Silverlight in Windows, the System Requirements say I must have "X86 or x64 (64-bit mode support for IE only)"; what does this mean?

I have a 5-year-old laptop, given to me by someone else as a gift, that uses: a 32-bit operating system, Windows 7 (with Service Pack 1), and Internet Explorer 8. A system message told me I need to upgrade Adobe and Silverlight. I accomplished the Adobe upgrade without problem. For the Silverlight upgrade, the instructions say to first uninstall the existing Silverlight software before installing the updated software. However, in the System Requirements, for Windows, it says the phrase that I quoted in the "Question" box above. I am not sure what it means. I am confused by the words "for IE only"; I'm assuming IE means Internet Explorer, but I don't know what this short phrase is trying to say. Is the "bottom line" that my 32-bit operating system is insufficient to receive the Silverlight upgrade, or is it enough? I need to know. I don't want to uninstall my existing Silverlight software yet, because of the possibility that I can't install the new software; I don't know what adverse effect would occur if my laptop doesn't have any Silverlight working on it at all. So I'd appreciate being filled in on this. Thanks!

Your computer can run silverlight just fine. They are just saying that Silverlight is a 32bit application, except for Internet Explorer, where it can run as 64bit. It doesn't make any difference for you, so just go ahead and install it.

  • Cisco NAC Layer 3 OOB Support for Wireless

We are currently using NAC 4.7.2 and I am curious if Layer 3 OOB for Wireless users is on the roadmap. We have a WISM and 5500 controllers. Thanks.

    Hello,
I know it's being worked on, but isn't in the near releases coming out soon. 4.8 is expected very soon and it's not in that release.
So long story short, don't know, but it will be there eventually.

  • CUBE, Media Flow Through vs. Media Flow Around

So CUBE gives the ability to have either Media Flow-Through or Media Flow-Around.  I think I have a good handle on what the difference between the two is but what are some real-world reasons as to one would be preferred over another?

    Good question.
Media flow-around terminates the signaling stream and allows RTP streams to flow directly between endpoints.
    F. Media flow-through provides address hiding by terminating both signaling and RTP streams.
Media flow through and media flow around mode is supported on the Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE). The CUBE is always involved in the call setup (signaling) portion of the call, but the media (RTP bearer stream) may flow through the CUBE or be routed around the platform.
Media flow around allows the CUBE greater scalability in the number of calls that can be processed by one CUBE router.
For Media flow through option, the media packets are passed through the CUBE, they will get terminated and re-originates with CUBE’s IP address and port number, so here we cannot find the original gateway’s ip address. This is one of the security feature in the CUBE. The default option is “media flow-through”.
In real life I think it is down to scalability. The fact that media doesnt pass through CUBE in flow around means that CUBE can process more calls (CPU, memory etc)..

  • I18n - how to add support for more languages (CQ 5.4)

I have a number of questions around adding support for more languages. We are already using multiple languages and would like to add more.
    1. Standard languages provided
in /libs/wcm/core/i18n I can see the standard ootb languages for CQ 5.4: de es fr it ja zh-cn
How can I add more? Are there additional language packages provided by Adobe for CQ 5.4?
    2. Translator tool
We have our own additional keys/strings in
      /apps/site/i18n/publish
When I open these with the translator tool
      /libs/cq/i18n/translator.html
as admin, I can see them all just fine.
However when I open them as another user, I only see the columns of the languages defined in /libs/wcm/core/i18n
There is a description how to extend this for 5.5 here:
    http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/5-5/developing/cq5-translator.html#Changing%20Languages%20Li sted%20in%20the%20Grid
and I have added the languages to /etc/languages in the "languages" property, but this does not work with 5.4 apparently (at least as far as I have tried).
I still only get the default languages from /libs/wcm/core/i18n despite the other languages being there in
      /apps/site/i18n/publish
and as admin I can see and edit them.
How do I make them visible and editable for other users?
    3. Tags
When editing the translations of tags, I want all the possible languages to appear in the dialog box for editors.
I have extended the "languages" property in /etc/tags and this works basically fine (as expected) as described in:
    http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/5-5/developing/cq5-translator.html#Changing%20Language%20Nam es%20and%20Default%20Countries
The desired language must be supported and listed in:
      /libs/wcm/core/resources/languages
I want to use a 2-letter iso code (e.g. "no" for Norway") and this desired 2-letter iso code must exist as a node. If that is not the case and only nodes with locales exist (e.g. "no_no" and "no_no_ny") then a 2-letter node must be created with a default setting pointing to the default locale.
I have tried this and it works fine as expected when the default language node is created in
      /libs/wcm/core/resources/languages
But /libs is a system folder that should not be modified, it could be potentially overwritten by Adobe packages.
The 5.5 docs say to create the node in
      /apps/wcm/core/resources/languages
instead, but this did not work for me in CQ 5.4 and I could find no other docs describing a process for 5.4
How to do this properly in 5.4?

Thanks for that hint, I checked it and the user does have read access to /etc/languages and /etc/tags and also /libs
So it seems the only workaround would be to create dummy nodes in /libs/wcm/core/i18n - which I did with a script (to be able to repeat after installation of hotfixes/and updates).
    So for example for Norwegian:
    # set default 2-letter node for norway (since it is missing)
    curl -u "admin:${PASS}" -X POST "http://${SERVER_IP}:${PORT}/libs/wcm/core/resources/languages/no" -d 'jcr:primaryType@TypeHint=Name' -d 'jcr:primaryType=nt:unstructured' -isS | grep HTTP
    curl -u "admin:${PASS}" -X POST "http://${SERVER_IP}:${PORT}/libs/wcm/core/resources/languages/no" -d 'country=*' -isS | grep HTTP
    curl -u "admin:${PASS}" -X POST "http://${SERVER_IP}:${PORT}/libs/wcm/core/resources/languages/no" -d 'defaultCountry=no_no' -isS | grep HTTP
    curl -u "admin:${PASS}" -X POST "http://${SERVER_IP}:${PORT}/libs/wcm/core/resources/languages/no" -d 'language=Norwegian' -isS | grep HTTP
    # set dummy node for missing languages in /libs/wcm/core/i18n
    curl -u "admin:${PASS}" -X POST "http://${SERVER_IP}:${PORT}/libs/wcm/core/i18n/no" -d 'jcr:primaryType@TypeHint=Name' -d 'jcr:primaryType=nt:folder' -isS | grep HTTP
    curl -u "admin:${PASS}" -X POST "http://${SERVER_IP}:${PORT}/libs/wcm/core/i18n/no" -d 'jcr:mixinTypes@TypeHint=Name[]' -d 'jcr:mixinTypes=mix:language' -isS | grep HTTP
    curl -u "admin:${PASS}" -X POST "http://${SERVER_IP}:${PORT}/libs/wcm/core/i18n/no" -d 'jcr:language=no' -isS | grep HTTP
This does create a proper dummy node (which is otherwise empty) in /libs/wcm/core/i18n
But unfortunately the Norwegian language still does not show up in the translator tool /libs/cq/i18n/translator.html
Only the standard languages show for my user.
Admin user does see all langauges we have in /apps/site/i18n/publish (but that was already the case before) - so I assume it must be some permissions are missing. I also tried giving that user modify+create permissions to /apps/site/i18n/publish but that did not make any difference.
Any other ideas what could be missing?

  • CUBEs, transcoding and media flow around.

    Guys,
Is it possible to have media flow around and transcoding at the same time or is it mandatory to have media pass though configured?
I'm looking for a way to have all my endpoints talking P2P and have media pass though only if it's necessary trasnscoding. I have this necessity since i'm trying to integrate with other technologies that aren't CISCO.
Any advices would be great and thanks in advance.
    BR,
    Filipe

I haven't tested this, but this doc indicates it's possible to configure flow-throgh/flow-around at the dial-peer level.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/voice/cube/configuration/guide/vb-gw-sipsip.html#wp1324447
The catch is that you wouldn't be able to have the CUBE determine whether the call needs a transcoder or not.  You'd need to know those requirements beforehand, and create a dial-peer matching strategy to encompass the various scenarios you're looking to drive.
So if the CUBE is connecting a specific platform to another specific platform, you could match it with the dial-peer, and then use that media flow-around config for it (or not, as appropriate).
If you need to make this determination on-the-fly, I don't think it's possible, and doing it per endpoint wouldn't really scale well.

  • Can Cisco 7200VXR support for VPLS?

    Hi all,
    I check Cisco Nagivator Feature to find which IOS support for VPLS on Cisco Router 7200VXR and found that IOS image "c7200-spservicesk9-mz.122-33.SRD.bin" can do it as below;
    - VPLS Autodiscovery, BGP-based
    - VPLS Multiple VCs per Spoke
When I try to configure Virtual Forwarding Instance, it's not allow me to configure the above features (VPLS Autodiscovery: BGP Based, Manual Configuration of VPLS) and only support point-to-point configuration mode you can see it as below

I can use "l2 vfi VPLS_A point-to-point" for Layer 2 VPN Pseudo-Wire Switching but not for VPLS multipoint configuration mode. Can Cisco 7200VXR support VPLS on this IOS image? If it can't, which IOS image can do it on this platform.

VPLS is not supported on 7200, you can configure point to point here but not point to multipoint, you will have to move to 7600 for that.

I want to integrate SMS gateway to Cisco ISE 1.2 and my question is
SMS notifications are supported for Guest self−registration Services ? or it should be done by Sponsor

I'm not sure I understand the question.  Do you want to log in to the Sponsor Portal using AD credentials?
Create an Identity Source Sequence using AD as an Authentication Source.  Go to Administration > Identity Management > Identity Source Sequences.  Either Edit or +Add a Sequence and choose from the Authentication Sources shown.
Then choose that Identity Source Sequence by going to Administration > Web Portal Management > Settings.  Double-click Sponsor from the Left Menu and click Authentication Source.  Choose the Identity Source Sequence.  Click Save.
    I hope this helps.
