Cisco E1000-Won't save WPA key number

I have a new wireless router which I have hooked up successfully to 3 computers , a playstation, and a WII on a secure network.  My fourth computer refuses to save the new key.  Ii keeps defaulting to an 8 digit number.  It shows the secure network on availiable networks but won't accept the WPA key.

What is the Operating System that you are using in the 4th Computer… Try to manually add a network in the Computer… If still doesn’t work then you have to reduce down the Security Mode…

  • Aperture won't save the serial number under Snow Leopard

When purchasing the unibody MBP17 in the last month, had Aperture (2.1.4) pre-installed. Worked fine under Leopard, no problems. Upgraded to Snow Leopard this past Friday and when launching Aperture, the program never has the serial number filled in. I have to enter the serial number each time I launch the program.
Anyone else notice this problem? If so, any ideas on how to solve it?
    Thanks in advance

Yeah, I've discovered I have the same problem. Sorry to say that I haven't discovered a solution.

  • E1000: Lost WPA key with Samsung TV

After entering my WPA key into my Samsung HDTV (UN46D6050TF), I am able to connect to the Internet.  However, after turning the TV off then back on, the WPA key is lost at the TV.  Samsung replaced the main board in the TV but the WPA key is still rejected by the Samsung TV (they also replaced the WiFi tranceiver).  All my other wireless devices connect and reconnect fine and Samsung claims not to have similar reports from customers using other routers.
Have others experienced the same or similar problems?  Are there settings to the router (e.g., AP Isolation; CTS Protection) that might be at the core of the problem?  Would specifying the TV's MAC address be a possible resolution?

If all the other wireless computers/devices are able to connect with the same network key then I think your router is working fine.
Check the wireless settings on your router.
Connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable. Open the setup page of the router and go to wireless tab. Click on wireless MAC filter sub tab and make sure that it is disabled.
AP isolation keep it on disabled.
You can also try to create a new wireless network and see if that works.
Open the setup page of the router and go to Wireless tab. Change the wireless network name SSID to create a new wireless network. Change the wireless channel to 11. Save the settings.
Go to Wireless security tab and enter the password for your wireless network.
Now try to connect to the new wireless network on your other wireless computers/devices. Try to connect to the new wireless network on your TV.

  • Is router pin number the same with WPA Key?

I am trying to find out what my WPA key is,

Please somebody kindly tell me it is the same or not.

    Hi Veeton,
I agree with @VALETLINKSYS. The WPA key is the same as the passphrase or you can click on the wireless security sub-tab for a better view of the router's wireless security settings.

You need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user. Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his box.com account in for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

    guest-mode
    wpa-psk ascii 7 053b071c325b411c9d

    Thanks

    wpa-psk ascii 7 053b071c325b411c9d
The 7 tells you that the presharedkey is encypted.
    type:
wpa-psk ascii 0 (then the passphase without qoutes)
    like:
    wpa-psk ascii 0 securewirelessnetwork

  • E1000 won't connect to Cisco Connect or the Web based set up

My router is working fine but I cannot connect to Cisco Connect or the web based advanced features now. I know I broke the cardinal rule by using advanced set up so that explains why Cisco connect won't work. But I can't figure out why I can't connect to the advanced web based utility now. Who made the decision to put some features in cisco connect but not include those features in advanced settings? And then if you use advanced settings cisco connect no longer works. This is such a turn off I'm actually thinking about returning the thing to Best Buy. That's like saying "if you open the hood of your car and touch anything parts of your car will no longer function". I call support and they repeat what they read on paper "reset the router and start over and don't use advanced settings". What a pain in the &^%$.

I've reinstalled the router again and just switched the ssid and password where it was before so all the devices in our home can connect. I first shut down the guest account using Cisco Connect (which is the only place you can control the guest account) and now I just use the advanced settings. So of course Cisco connect no longer works. I've got a strong signal all over our home. No disconnection issues at all. But this software design that puts some features in one part and other features in advanced and then shuts down cisco connect if you use advanced is insane. If I knew cisco was planning a firmware upgrade to give the advanced mode everything cisco connect has and more then I'd keep this thing. For the life of me I cannot understand why any software engineer would come up with such a design as this. And quite honestly I tried to play by their goofy rules of not using advanced settings and cisco connect died after about 4 uses. Never would connect again. Just said call support (in India) and after telling your life's story to someone simply being told to hit the reset button, power off and start the process all over again. If anyone at Cisco reads this stuff I think I have a legitimate complaint. Why on earth would you put features in Cisco Connect that aren't in advanced and why would you stop running Cisco connect just because I hard coded some mac addresses in advanced mode? I would love to know the logic behine such a crazy implementation of software.

  • WPA key was changed to WEP now other computers won...

The WPA key on my router was recently changed by the Go To Assistace help. It's now WEP. I always thought WEP was at least 10 characters but they still usd my 9 digit WPA key. I share a flat with 3 others. The main computer that was used to change it was Vista. Onee using XP changed his WPA to WEP using the same key and it worked. The other 2 using Windows 7 can't change, when they change to WEP it's saying not enough character you need at least 10. Is there a way to allow the guys to connect using WIN 7?
    Thanks in Advance.

is there any reason you have changed to WEP?  it is easily hacked so someone couls hack your router and get free wifi.  if no reason the change back to more secure WPA2

  • Cannot find the WPA key

I'm trying to connect my laptop to the internet. In the "WPA - Personal Needed for Connection" screen, it keeps asking for a passphrase, which is supposed to be the WPA key. I can't find my WPA key; I was hoping it was the Encryption Key, but it's not.
In order to find my WPA key, I tried to type in 192.168.1.1, and then type in admin as the the password, but it won't let me in. The password window just keeps popping up, and when I continue to type in my password correctly, it simply leads me to a purple screen and says "access denied"
    Help, please. :<

    Hi beavis01.....
It seems like you changed your router password...So, in order to access your router page, there is actually one way....You need to hard reset the router....
And you need to configure your router back all over again....
No worries....I will guide you all through the process....
Reason this thing happened  - someone push the Cisco System button at the front panel of your router...So the router wil automatically configure your wireless and set the security to WPA Personal...
Before that - how bout you try to put in 10digits of your phone number in the passphrase box...
    Give it a try k.....
    Thank you...!!!

  • Windows Vista 32 and 64 bit key number

    Hello
XP has been installed from a disk partition (D)
My notebook has been upgraded from XP to Vista 32 bit with the CD I got from the pakage.
In the buttom the is a stamp with the key number.
I have CDs both with Vista 32 and Vista 64
    1. Is the key number the same to the 32 and to the 64 bit
    2. I would like to format the C drive.
    3. Can I install Vista 64, from the CD?
    Thank you for your help
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

No worries. Yes, you can perform an install of Vista with the DVDs that you have. You can  reformat the hard disk as part of the installation.
Before you begin, go into the Device Manager to see which wireless adapter, graphics adapter  and lan adapter is installed and write it down. Doing that will save you some time.
You will need the following DVDs from what you have stated the notebook was delivered with..
Operating System DVD Windows Vista Business SP1 (64-it)
Application and Driver Recovery DVD 32-bit & 64-bit for Windows Vista
Write down the twenty five character  license activation key before you begin. Enter it when requested to by the Windows installation script. After the installation is complete use the driver disk to install the drivers. If HP Support Assistant is available on the driver and application disk, install that also.

  • How do I find the WPA key on my Bravia TV?

Hello ekrahmer, thank you for replying. In regards to your question I assume that you would like to know how to get the WPA key for connectivity. This type of concerns seems to be something that you may ask to your Internet Service Provider. However to setup the TV to connect a Wifi-Direct capable device, we kindly recommend you to try the steps below:
    1. Make sure that the TV has the latest system software (firmware) update installed.
    2. Using the supplied remote, press the HOME button.
    3. Select Applications.
    4. Select Wi-Fi Direct.
    5. Press the Options button.
    6. Select Manual.
    7. Select either WPS or Other Methods
NOTE: The WPS setting is not available on all Wi-Fi Direct capable devices. Refer to the manual supplied with the cell phone, computer or other Wi-Fi Direct device for information regarding the WPS setting.
    8. If WPS is selected, on your Wi-Fi Direct device, go to the wireless network setting screen, select WPS (if capable, for automatic setup) or perform a scan to connect to the Sony television.
If Other Methods is selected, the SSID and the WPA Key that appears on the TV will have to be entered on the Wi-Fi Direct device.
NOTE: In some cases the TV may appear as BRAVIA or BRAVIA TV on the Wi-Fi Direct device.

  • Acrobat won't save any more links in a PDF. Why?

I am adding links to a PDF file. I have done several, including the index of the file. Acrobat won't save any more though. Why?

    Sara,
The Save As allows me to save the changes, but the regular save will still not function. I seem to recall a similar issue with the last version of this document, with a similar number of links.
    Thanks,
