Cisco EIM-mail queue issue

hi,
I am facing an problem in cisco Email interaction manager. I have installed EIM/WIM 4.3.1 in single server and integrated with ICM 8.5.
Its working well as mails are queued in the queue created in ICM (MRD). but if agents are not available the mail is not queued in ICM queue its queued in the default queue in CIM, we can only pick it from that queue if the agent having admin rights that we cant give to all agent. somebody tell the solution for this issues.....

Yav,
Go to the Administration Console in EIM, then Departments. Inside the Department, there will be an Email folder, and inside that is Aliases. In the properties for each Alias, there is an "Email address" field.

  • Exchange Queue issues

    Hi
we have 2 Exchange 2010 servers out of which one has a Mail Queue issue.
whenever we view queue viewer through console or through shell with Get-queue, we get error like "Exchange can't connect to the mail queue check the transport service is started"
If i refresh couple of times, it shows the queue on both. This happens frequently.
I recreated a new Mail queue but still same error.
During this error, the Transport service never stops and it shows as Started always. We have restarted this service and restarted the server twice. No improvement.
was there anything to be checked?
    regards Sundaresan.C

    Hi sun,
    Thank you for your question.
Which roles has been installed on 2 Exchange server?
If CAS and Hub are not on same server:
Make sure CAS server connect to Hub without any network issue, we could check if there are any IP data packet which are missing between CAS and Hub.
Make sure the transport service are running when we get error on CAS and Hub.
Check if CAS and Hub are same version(include CU)
If CAS and Hub are the same server, we could check event log when we get error when we run the command. You could send the relevant log to
    [email protected] for our troubleshooting.
We could try to rename the queue folder to check if the issue persist.
If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.
    Best Regard,
    Jim

  • Cisco EIM/ICM Routing Priorities?

I have a question about the logic that is used for routing and queueing e-mails in Cisco EIM when integrated with ICM.  If there are agents responding to e-mails that are assinged to multiple user groups, what is the logic used to assign those e-mails?  Both groups are using the same SLA's in the workflows and are set to a skill priorty of "0" in ICM.  I have agents who recieve older e-mails from one skill group after they receive newer e-mails on another skill group.  How do you make all skill groups equal so that the oldest mails are always getting answered 1st? or does it have to do with the volume recieved in each skill group?  Any insight would be helpful as I can not find any documentation on this.  Thanks.

When an EIM "queue" is integrated to ICM, the mapping is through the script selector / dialed number.
Following the mantra "Dialed Number - Call Type - Scheduled Script", an email coming into EIM will generate a NEW_TASK request through the PG, up to the router and run the script. Now standard ICM skill group rules come into play. If agents are in two different skill groups, and your scripting is correct, they should get the oldest call from either skill group. I haven't had a problem with this particular aspect of EIM, but it's a complicated beast and seems to have some quirks.
Skill priority is 1 to 10, with 1 being the highest. Are you sure you are using zero?
    Regards,
    Geoff

  • Mail QUEUE keeps filling up 17000+ emails

I am running a OS 10.4.11 w/latest security updates. Approx 50 active email accounts but a high volume of emails. We have been shut down by our ISP for an open proxy (unsure if this is related or not). We keep getting thousands of emails flooding our mail queue from unknown sources to unknown address. I have read another post with similar issues and I want to update the postfx config to keep this over load of emails from reaching the queue. I am not that great with command line and would like a little help. I have read FRONT-LINE SPAM DEFENSE FOR MAIL SERVERS, and need just a bit of help getting started. ANY help will be appreciated.

Using text wrangler and editing the main.cf file. I am also looking at the logs and here is what I had on the 31st when we got blocked by our ISP, it looks like just a bunch of spam flooding us with malformed names.

  • Server Admin only shows 201 messages in Mail Queue

This issue has been haunting me since 10.5.0 and I can't seem to get rid of it. It's not crucial, but very obnoxious. In Server Admin (from multiple computers) the mail queue will only show a maximum of 201 messages. If there are more than that I have a cryptic "message" at the end of the list that has a message ID of "FFFFFFFFFFFF" and the Recipients Field has [...]
I would love to be able to see all the messages in my queue if possible, but haven't found anywhere to fix this.
Any help would be very appreciated.

Thanks Alex. We aren't bouncing spam on our mail server, but I do notice that a lot of the mail is from MAILER-DAEMON. I'm assuming it's "User not Found" messages from hosts that don't really exist. I've tweaked the server using some suggestions from osx.topicdesk.com to clear some of those out, but it hasn't been 100% effective.
I think part of the issue is that the server is a dual G4 Xserve and is scanning junk mail on all messages. I assume that those two factors contribute to the backup of mail in the queue.
As for volume of mail, we receive 100k a month.

  • How To reduce Mail Queue Database File?

    Hello Team,
I setup exchange server 2013,i check daily mail queue database file increase .
So how to decrease database file?i
    Thanks,
    Jemin Prajapati

    Hi Jim,
While moving old queue, we will loose some mail during this operation.
Can we do this activity without any downtime or without loosing any mail.
Please confirm we only need to move mail.que and rest of other file (log and temp) will remain the same.
What I am thinking how new queue will sync with old logs and other files.
    Thanks
    Hi
If the new queue work without any problem, we could refer to the following steps:
Use “Net stop MSExchangeTransport” to stop Exchange transport service.
Overwrite all the existing empty queue database files and transaction log files on the target Exchange transport server by using all the files from "C:\QueueRecovery". By default, the queue database and transaction logs exist in C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange
    Server\TransportRoles\data\Queue.
A new queue database is created when the Microsoft Exchange Transport service is restarted. This can occur at any time after we have finished copying the queue database files to the target transport server.
Use “ Net pause MXExchangeTransport ” to pause message flow through Hub Server
Use the Queue Viewer or the Get-Queue cmdlet in the Exchange Management Shell to monitor the delivery queues on the target Exchange transport server. Wait until no messages remain in any of delivery queues on the server as indicated by a message count of
    0.
Then we use “Net stop MSExchangeTransport” to stop Exchange transport service.
Use “Net start MSExchangeTransport” to enable Exchange transport service.
We could refer to the following link to learn more details:

If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.

  • Transport Mail Database issues crashing Transport service

We are experiencing frequent issues on Hub servers (as often as once a week) where Transport Mail DB issues crash the Transport service.  Had an MS specialist in the other day who could not exactly figure out the root cause.  The pattern usually is as follows:
    1. Event ID 486 - This event refers to a failure to move a log file (associated with Transport Mail DB queues) because it is being used by another process.  What that process could be is unknown.
    2. Event ID 413 - Unable to create a new logfile because the database cannot write to the log drive.
    3. Event ID 492 - The logfile sequence in <dir> has been halted
    4. Event ID 17019 - A database operation has encountered a I/O error. The Microsoft Exchange Transport service is shutting down. Exception details: Microsoft.Exchange.Isam.IsamLogWriteFailException: Failure writing to log file (-510)
Also followed by events 7001,1022,1002, and 1003.
Haven't been able to determine what is causing Event ID 486.  Not aware of any process that would be tying up the access to the log file.  These queue files are stored on a local disk, not a SAN.
Any ideas as to what could be causing this?  Running E2K7SP1 Rollup 2 currently on all Exchange systems.

    Hi,
I suggest that you use the following method to check which process access the log file indicated in the event 486:
    Using Process Explorer
    http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/utilities/ProcessExplorer.mspx
    Then, we did the following:
    1. Launch Process Explorer
    2. Click Find, Find Handle or DLL
    3. Enter the log name indicated in the event 486 and click Search
In addition, please also check whether any events such as 150004 occur before the Transport service crashes. If you notice the event, I also suggest that you refer to the following article:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb201658(EXCHG.80).aspx

  • Upgrade path for Cisco EIM/WIM v4.2(5)

    Hi all,
I need some help in understanding what is required to deploy Cisco EIM/WIM v4.2(5) for Cisco UCCE.
    a) media kit received contained v4.2(1), 3rd party tools, v4.2(4a) SR & v4.2(5a) MR
    b) based on the docs, v4.2(1) needs to be installed first followed by v4.2(4a) SR and then v4.2(5a) MR
    Some concerns/questions i have is
    a) Since v4.2(1) only supports SQL 2000 and v4.2(5) only supports SQL 2005, does that mean i'll require to purchase both SQL 2000 & SQL 2005? Can I install v.4.2(1) directly on SQL 2005?
    b) Since v4.2(1) only supports BEA WebLogic, is there a way to change it to JBoss when upgrading to v4.2(5)? If so, any idea how that can be done? If not mistaken this is possible when upgrading to v4.3(1).
    c) Is there a way to directly install v4.2(5) without going to the mentioned upgrade path
    Thanks!
    -JT-

    HI
The license is assigned to a MAC address so if you have other NICs available it may cause issues. As the system maybe comparing the wrong NIC. I dont believe you can "Reload" the license. I am all most certain you are hitting a bug with the license file. There are a number around :-(. Below is the most common:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/ps7233/products_tech_note09186a0080a8c0bc.shtml
I know your symptoms do not match "Exactly" but I had the same issue as you and just upgraded to 4.2(5) and then applied ES1. That fixed all my problems. I have attached ES1 for you. If you are still not to sure then i would probably open a TAC case but they are probably going to tell you to upgrade to 4.2.4 or 4.2.5 first.
If you decide to upgrade to 4.2.5 please also take note of the following:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/ps7233/products_tech_note09186a0080a72faf.shtml
You need to make sure that the collation in SQL is set to SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AI. The above guide exsplains how to check this and change it if it is incorrect.
    Thanks,
    Matt
    (Edit)
The patch is to large to upload but you can download it from here for 4.2.5:
    http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/ba8630bc8d6cd87a3b23513eb7700b54
OR if you dont fancy going all the way to 4.2.5 you can download the patch for 4.2.4 here:

  • IIS 6.0 - so many mails stuck in mail queue

    Hi All,
From past 2 days, so many mails are getting stuck in mail queue folder. Normally, when there are more than 20 mails in queue, we used to restart SMTP and the queue gets cleared immediately. But , now the situation has changed. When we restart SMTP to clear
mails in queue, they keep on increasing, say from 20 to 100 and then after 1 hour or so, the number goes to 20-25 and again increasing. We have not changed anything, but dnt know why this is happening suddenly from past 2 days. Users also are complaining that
they are getting notification mails very late. The mails are not getting send and just staying in queue for a long time. I checked in SMTP log and found " OutboundConnectionResponse SMTPSVC1 E-SALES - 25 - - 421-4.7.0+[203.170.190.51++++++15]+Our+system+has+detected"+an+unusual+rate+of
    0 0 77 0 17891 SMTP - - - -"
Kindly help and Please let me know if you need more information.
    Thank you,
    Phani.

    Hi Darin,
Thank you for your reply. We dont have Azure.
Actually, we have an e-payment website and when users made transactions, the notification mails go to users. We are using IIS web server v6.0 for this whole set up and SMTP is also configured in this. Basically, I am programmer and this is not my work domain.
I am taking care of this server for time being and don't have much information/idea. Today, I observed the mails in queue are processing normally, but we did not change anything. What could be the reason for long mail queue for previous 2 days? can you throw
    some light on this? :)
    Thank you.
    hi,
It seems like this issue may be not related to azure . I suggest you could post this issue into IIS forum or Window server General forum
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/home?forum=winservergen for more helps.

  • Stuck in the Mail Queue

We lost our internet connection yesterday for over 12 hours. It is back on now and the mailserver is working fine BUT...
    a) Nothing has arrived from the time we were out ie: I have everything prior to the lost connection and everything since, but nothing from the lost 12 hours. It is like it never existed!
    b) I have a group in emails that are stuck fast in the mailserver queue (Server Admin, Mail, Maintenance, Mail Queue). I can delete some that I know to be spam but when I click 'Retry' nothing happens
    Any ideas?
    (Server 10.5.2)

    Open terminal and issue:
    sudo postsuper -r ALL
(Give it time and don't force the queue continuously. If it doesn't start sending after a few minutes, check /var/log/mail.log for clues)

  • Mail stuck in the Mail Queue

    For reasons I have not yet understood, my 10.5.2 mailserver stopped delivering mail. After a few restarts it is now running again but;
All the mail that arrived while it was stopped is now stuck in the Mail Queue. How can I get it to deliver thisstuck mail?

    pterobyte wrote:
If they can't get to the content filter on the first try, maybe it's overloaded? How busy is your machine?
It's a new installation of Leopard Server on an internal drive, the CPU navigate from 0 to 20% so it's not here. I used spamtrainer to import the database from the old drive (Tiger Server) and the mail store is on a RAID disk so I just had to change the default mail location in the right pane. I just restarted the server on the Tiger Server disk and everything is fine there.
Requeuing does not start the content filter, so if it were off, it'd still be off. So since it is running, it look like it can't keep up.
Sorry, I do my best to be understandable :->
I just made tries to see if mails would be delivered once the spam and virus filter is off and saw that mails were not delivered at all.
Is this the normal behavior ?
This problem of the content filter is probably linked to what I said in another thread.
I cannot uncheck "Attach subject tag" in Server Admin. If I uncheck the spam filter and virus filter then mails are not delivered too.
I doubt it is linked (unless you "play" with Server Admin while troubleshooting the queue). As I mentioned above, amavisd, doesn't run just "a bit".
You can always change the amavisd and postfix settings yourself.
If I knew what to change and where I probably would do it :->
I'm just scared about how many things don't work as expected once Leopard Server is installed.
Lot of problems with SMB too and as we have only one machine here I must reboot the server on Tiger if I don't want everybody here to kill me :->>
Maybe some files cannot be read/write...
If it was a permission issue, requeued mail would still hit the same issues.
    Yes... I thought about that.
Do you think that it could help to download the 10.5.2 combo update and to reinstall it ?
Doubt it, but it probably won't hurt.
Will try it as soon as I can reboot the server on Leopard. I seems that someone will not leave the office like others will do today
    Thanks for your help.

  • Huge Mail Queue

    Somebody please help me!!!!
I recently realised that the mail server part of OSX server was switched on without being configured correctly and as a result someone was relaying spam through it.
I know virtually nothing about Terminal but have managed to delete the mail.log's which were nearly 1gb and the mailaccess.log but they have started to grow again even though mail is now off!
If i try to view the Mail Queue in server admin it grinds to a halt so i am guessing that i must have a huge backlog of messages in the queue. Is there an easy way of clearing the queue without using server admin?
    Thanks,
    Mark

After you take care of the immediate issue....
I would try and find out how the mail server was enabled.
You could have an intruder who is using your machine for their own prupose.
Do you have port 22 (SSH) open to the outside world?
You might want to check your logs, especially /var/log/secure.log

  • What mail queuing notifications are available with Exchange Online Protection (EOP)?

Basically, if EOP detects a service failure for the on-premises Exhange Servers and mail queuing is enabled, what notifications are available from EOP when mail queuing is enabled? I am unable to find a screenshot or documentation regarding this.
Does EOP have the ability to email and or SMS notifications to an outside email address indicating the mail queuing has been enabled for the domain?

Unfortunately, EOP doesn't have an ability to notify you with the SMS or email if the email is queued. We need to perform a message trace on the EOP to review the list of emails which is in pending status.
