[Cisco FAQ] - Doctor report

Why should I run it? How should I run it? What information should I be looking for?

The Doctor Report is one of the most important tools that system operators can use to evaluate the configuration and operation of the DNCS. Output from the doctor report appears on the screen of the DNCS and is written to an output file called report._.doc in the /export/home/dncs/doctor folder.
To run the Doctor Report, type the following command in an xterm window on the DNCS:
SP Video TAC Lab SR 4.2>> /export/home/dncs/doctor/doctor -av
Best practices suggest that the Doctor Report should be run twice a day to check:
All processes are running.
System Time Messages (STMs) were delivered within the last 12 seconds.
The EUT (Entitlement Unit Table) was updated within the last 60 minutes.
All BFS carousels are up, all sessions are active and only one process per carousel.
The Doctor Report should be run once per day to verify:
No DNCS corefiles exist.
Each DNCS volume uses less than 80% of its space.
Each DNCS swap space is more than 1GB.
DNCS time is synched to an external source.
Seven days of IPG grid information is available and long descriptions are available,
The DNCS load average is consistent.
For version info and a detailed listing of all options for this utility, type the following command:
SP Video TAC Lab SR 4.2>> /export/home/dncs/doctor/doctor

  • Cisco Unified CCX Reporting Server in Partial Service

    I can't seem to find anything specific on this, so I'm hoping one of you can assist.
    I have a client who is running UCCX 8.0(2) in failover HA, and they just noticed that one of their UCCX servers has the Control Center - Feature Service
    Cisco Unified CCX Reporting Server in Partial Service.
    The node that is reporting this to be in Partial Service is the standby node.
    I was trying to compare with some other clients I have, but it appears they have actually deactivated this service, so I have nothing to judge against.  No other services Feature or Network are in Partial Service on either node.
    Do you know if the node reporting this is a standby HA server, then should this service show as Partial Service.  The active node (Master) shows this service as IN SERVICE.
    Thanks!

    I believe this is used for the mobile supervisor, that's the Iphone app.
    It is disabled on all our systems. If you are not using the Iphone app I suggest you turn it off.

  • Cisco Wireless AP Report.

    I would like to develop a report package for Cisco Wireless device using the SNMP (MIB Objects) access. Can anyone suggest me what are all kind of report i can produce ..?
    Like, CPU Usage, Memory and Buffer Usage, Process utilization and Conne cted Nodes. etc.,
    Does this device suppor to get all kind of information from MIBs?.
    Thanks,
    Moorthy,

    You can get the Aironet MIBs from: http://www.cisco.com/public/sw-center/sw-wireless.shtml but will have to look at the MIB definitions to find out which ones to use. There's no short cut.

  • Cisco UCCX Historical Reports

    Application error when trying to execute a query for a single day or short period of a few hours I always get this error.

    Hi Saeed
    I'd agree with your comments. Personally I would incorporate them into the HRC report; I guess if you speak to Cisco about this it would be an 'enhancement request' at best that would take a long time to be resolved.
    I've previously 'corrected' some reports like this one to allow proper summarisation etc but it requires some Crystal Reports knowledge & software..

  • Cisco Mars Printable Reports?

    Has anyone found a decent way to print reports from the MARS that doesn't look like garbage. I've tried printing straight from the web console, cut and paste to a word doc, printing to PDF and the formating on all of them looks horrible.
    Would it be that hard to put a "printer friendly" button on all the reports in the MARS?

    You can go through "Cisco Security MARS 4.2.x Documentation Guide and Warranty" document

    After a new installation of CUCCX Historical Reports 8.5 when the manager tries to print a report it is defaulting to save as a .xps document.  If we select a physical printer in the box it reverts back to the save as .xps document, rinse and repeat.  I've inculded a screen shot, thanks in advance for any assistance.

  • Cisco UCCX Historical Reports 8.5

    No grand total when running an agent summary report   ?
    Nearly every other UCCX report has grand total information. Even if I perform a sum/average function to get the totals/averages manually the formula does not work. Because UCCX formats time in a H:MM:SS format all of the time based data starts with a 0. This 0 causes a #DIV/0! error because you can’t run an average on data the starts with 0.
    So, we need one of two things to be fixed on this report. Either the grand totals are built into the report (preferred method), or the time format needs to drop the hour if the value of the cell is less than 60 minutes. The work around for this defect is to gather the data from WFM and paste into the report. This might be resolved for the most part as the customized reports are created.  Any suggestion
    Thanks

                WHERE       rg.resourceGroupID = r.resourceGroupID AND
                      rg.resourceGroupName = sn.name and
                      rg.profileid = r.profileid and
                       (r.active = 1 or
                      r.dateinactive >= @starttime)
    which is making it difficult to report by Resource Group. My question is has anyone run into the root cause that this has been commented out? My concern is that it was commented out becuase it caused some undesirable outcome. Thank you in advance.

    ICD_Agent_Call_Summary [ us_en ] version which refers to
    Exec db_cra.dbo.sp_agent_call_summary '$StartDate', '$EndDate', $SortBy, N'$ResourceGroup', N'$AgentName', N'$SkillName', N'$TeamName'
    which then calls getListOfAgents which takes in the resourcegroup passed and does parse2 [ so far so good ].
    * Parse2 in turn calls ParSeString which inserts the each token ( rather resource name ) in a temporary table selected_names
    --defective code
    Then irrespective of the resourcegroup passed, it does select on resource table to get a list of agents and inserts into the temp table #selected_agents.
    So both temporary table selected_names and selected_agents are now populated.
    Back @ sp_agent_call_summary immediately following exec of getListOfAgents, it does not touch selected_names again, selected_agents is touched only for joins with other tables in my version.  I would think that even for most sloppiest code, selected_names would be used to delete agents from "selected_agents" who do not belong to any resourcegroup in the selected_names table before using it for joins.
    In some of the other reports I see how parse2 and selected_names and selected_agents is used to get the right list of agents, however not on this one.
    Thanks for your help.

  • [Forum FAQ] The Reporting Server cannot be reinstalled on a same SQL Server Reporting Service instance

    Symptom: Sometimes, when you want to reinstall the Reporting Server Role for Operation Manager 2012,
    but you may encounter an issue that the Reporting Server Role cannot be reinstalled after you successfully uninstall it. When you check the System Center Operation Manager installation log, you can find the following error as shown in Figure 1.
    Figure 1: Reporting Server Role cannot be reinstalled
    It seems that the SQL Server Reporting Service has not been configured properly. When you open Reporting Services Configuration Manager to check the settings, the settings seem fine though.
    Even you recreate Reporting Service Database, the error remains.
    After reviewing the OpsMgrSetupWizard.log, we get the following errors when wizard try to connect to SQL Server Reporting Instance (Figure 2).
    [07:24:05]:    Error:  :CheckHttpAddressResponse failed: Threw Exception.Type: System.Net.WebException, Exception Error Code: 0x80131509, Exception.Message:
    The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.
    [07:24:05]:    Error:  :StackTrace:   at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse() at Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.OperationsManager.Setup.ReportingComponent.CheckHttpResponseFromSRSUrl(String
    httpSite)
    Figure 2: Error Log -1
    It indicates the Reporting Service encounters an internal error. The Website cannot handle the request. So you may check the Reporting Service log which is located in C:\Users\Administrator.SCOM2012\AppData\Local\SCOM\LOGS
    and the following errors may be found (Figure 3).
    library!ReportServer_0-18!1448!03/30/2014-02:53:23:: e ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ServerConfigurationErrorException:
    Unable to load assembly Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Reporting.Security, Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ServerConfigurationErrorException: The report server has encountered a configuration error.  ---> System.IO.FileNotFoundException:
    Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Reporting.Security' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
    File name: 'Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Reporting.Security'
    Figure 3: Error Log -2
    Reason: After the Reporting Server is installed on a SSRS instance, the Reporting Server of SCOM
    needs to modify the web.config and rsreportserver.config  file to add its own assembly to make the Reporting Server work. But it does not change it back when Reporting Server is uninstalled. So the assembly cannot be loaded and the SSRS cannot respond
    our requests.
    Resolution:  When the Reporting Server is installed, the old web.config and rsreportsserver.config
    files will be backed up to web.config1 and rsreportsserver.config1. So you just need to change the files’ name back, then try to install Reporting Server of SCOM again. Everything would go smoothly.

    Hi AakashGhare,
    According to your error message, SQL Server 2008 databases are version 655. SQL Server 2008 R2 databases are 661. When you are trying to attach an 2008 R2 database (v. 661) to an 2008 instance and this is not supported. As other post, once the database has
    been upgraded to an 2008 R2 version, it cannot be downgraded. You'll have to either upgrade your 2008 SP2 instance to R2, or you have to copy out the data in that database into an 2008 database (such as using the data migration wizard).
    In addition, if you want to use a Windows Batch file code and command to automatically login to SQL Server, detach database and attach a new one database, there is a similar details about batch code for attaching database to a new database, you can refer
    to this article.

  • [Cisco FAQ] - What is the USRM equivalent of the releaseOldSessions script that runs on the DNCS?

    HOw do i tear down VOD Sessions that are older than 4 hours

    NOTE: When the VOD Session Manager is a USRM, Cisco refers to this USRM as a VSM.
    Here is an explanation of how the VOD Session Manager (VSM) initiates a release of VOD sessions that are older than 4 hours (configurable). The algorithm described below is similar to the releaseOldSessions script on the DNCS that many of our customers are familiar with. Both release VOD sessions that are older than 4 hours old. Also, the VSM has a retry and session audit mechanism built into its algorithm that is absent in the releaseOldSessions script on the DNCS. The main difference is that this functionality is built into the VSM, but the releaseOldSessions script must either be run manually on the DNCS or put into the DNCS crontab. The VSM will make the decision to release a VOD session base on age, typically configured for 4 hours, and then the VSM will send up to 3 teardown requests to the Edge Resource Manager (ERM). NOTE: Both the VSM and ERM are Linux servers running Cisco USRM software.
    The “releaseOldSessions” algorithm is configured on the VSM in the Web UI under Applications.VodSm.Configuration as shown in the screen shot below:
    Applications.VodSm.Configuration.SessionTimeout = 14,400 seconds (default, configurable)
    ReleaseRetryCount = 3 (default, not configurable)
    ALGORITHM: The VSM, being the VOD Session Manager, will send a session release request to the appropriate Edge Resource Manager (ERM) based on the configured “SessionTimeout”. By default this value is 14,400 seconds (4 hours, configurable). When the age of a VOD session reaches the SessionTimeout, the VSM will locate the appropriate ERM and send it a session release request for that session. If the ERM fails to acknowledge this release request, the VSM will retry the session release for the number of times configured in ReleaseRetryCount, which is 3. NOTE: Cisco Development has chosen a value of 3 for this parameter (the ReleaseRetryCount is not configurable). If after the 3rd release retry, the VSM still does not have an acknowledgement of session teardown from the ERM, the VSM will initiate a session audit of that ERM as a final attempt to tear down the session.

  • Cisco Secure ACS "reports and activities" problem

    Hi, I am running ACS 3.3(3) Build 11.
    When I select the "next page" from any of the reports, I get a "page cannot be displayed" error. (1st page is fine).
    Any ideas what this can be caused by?
    Cheers, Steve.

    Not sure about this problem.. .but the ACS interface for searching reports is dire.
    Why not try aaa-reports! There's a free 60 day trial. We have tools to remotely pull down all CSVs from any number of ACSs and import & report on most of the ACS logs.
    Apols for the shameless plug.. but this can save you a lot of time and effort.

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure Reporting

    I'm after a report that details the Ethernet utilisation of every AP in a given area, with data every hour over the period of a whole month.
    Does anyone know if this is possible in CPI? I can't see a way to run a custom report (which is terrible) and none of the other reports seem to give me that kind of granularity over that period of time.
    If not possible in CPI is there a way I can get access to the raw data?
