Cisco Fax Server (Captaris) and Cisco Fax Relay

Hello all!
i know that Captaris Cisco Fax Server works well with T.38 Fax Relay...and what about Cisco Fax Relay? Is it compatible?
thanks,
met

Hi!
Please check the following link, specially Pg. 9 "ISDN/MGCP Cisco Fax Relay Mode" . You'll see the deployment models of the Cisco Fax server: IP T.38 Fax Relay, ISDN E1/T1 Direct Connection and ISDN/MGCP Cisco Fax Relay Mode:

  • Yosemite Server Mail and Google Domain Relay

I want to simply use the server to send automated emails from scripts.  I have server installed.  Over the course of two days I've have followed several posts:
    http://www.anujgakhar.com/2011/12/09/using-macosx-lion-command-line-mail-with-gm ail-as-smtp/
    http://blog.anupamsg.me/2012/02/14/enabling-postfix-for-outbound-relay-via-gmail -on-os-x-lion-11/
And the updated Yosemite version here:
    http://blog.anupamsg.me/2013/12/22/enabling-postfix-on-osx-as-a-relay-revisited/
    Yosemite Server configuration
    http://krypted.com/mac-security/configure-the-os-x-yosemite-server-mail-service/
I've gotten no where.  In my last attempt all sasl errors and no mech connections had stopped but mail did not appear to go anywhere.  No trace.  I stumbled across a post that said ssl connections from Mac OS X Yosemite are broken and just don't work.
Now the real rub. I have gotten the same thing working with Linux in 5 minutes following this post:
    https://rtcamp.com/tutorials/linux/ubuntu-postfix-gmail-smtp/
Then within an hour my crontab and scripts were written, debugged, and blissfully sending email.
I would rather run this from my Mac server.  I understand that this may become an in-depth discussion/debug session (remember the old sendmail.cf day?!) and would greatly appreciate someone's mentoring here.

    Hi,
maybe it helps or not, I solve a other performance problem which is more related to the mailbox speed but this error on client side is gone afterwards:
In Yosemite there is still also a problem with the automatic settings detection in Mail.
That means that the application try's to find a working authentication mechanism in combination with different ports and encryption.
So far so good, this feature would be okay but the application never stops to do that. So we are shortly connected but the connection becomes invalid again.
This leads to performance issues and the application becomes very slow!
If you refer your client log file maybe you can see some "Failed to start the SASL connection" issues (coming from Mail.app).
In case that you are running a OS X Server which is used by Mail you will see in /var/log/mail* /Library/Logs/mail* various login failures. In case that you have enabled the Adaptive Firewall it can be happen that your IP is blocked for 15 minutes.
Of course this must not be a issue for everyone I believe it strongly depends on your email server / provider which auth. stuff is supported or enabled.
    To solve it:
    1.) Open the Mail Preferences
2.) Goto "Accounts" and select your Provider/Account
3.) Klick Enhanced (the last right tab)
4.) Disable the automatic settings detection (first checkbox)
5.) In case you didn't enable "MailDrop"
This works in Mail 8.1 on Yosemite 10.10.1

  • How to set up fax solution using Windows 2008 R2 Fax server role and Exchange 2007

    Hello,
I don't know if this is the right forum to post this but since it is related to Exchange I thought it might be. If this is not the right place, please direct me to the forum where my post would be more appropriate.
I'm looking to set up a Fax solution for the company that I work for as we are moving away from analog phone lines to VoIP using SIP. My original thought was to set up a Windows 2008 R2 server with Fax server role installed and have it route the fax message
to Exchange 2007 SP3 so the fax message can be delivered to each user's inbox. I was reading a little bit on the Windows Fax server role and from what I saw it looks like it can only route fax messages to one email address. This not ideal for my company. Is
there a way to have the fax server role route the email to each user's inbox? If so, how can I achieve this?
How can implement this for this sending outgoing faxes as well?
I don't know if this releveant or not but I will be using Asterisk as a media gateway between our SIP trunks and the Windows Fax server.
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

    hello all,
i'm using a router 877 at home and i really need to check out what this router do during the day.
So some time ago i configured it using some eem actions and sending to me email, without any problems.
Yesterday I changed my internet provider and now i need to use smtp autheticantion to send emails.
I read about how to authenticate, like username:password@host and also made a fast search here, without solve my problem.
I need to put as username the email of the provider like: [email protected]:[email protected]
So, i want to know if someone had the same problem and solved it. Of course i couldn't use @ two times or eem would think that host.com is my smtp server! And right now is going in this way!

    Hope someone could help me!

  • Deb fax relay t30 level-2

Is there something to interpreter the result of deb fax relay t30 level-2 ?
I have some problem related to T38 fax Protocol, but I'm not able to understand where is the problem (Cisco 2811 & 2611 AS5400 PGW HSI GK enviroment)

Not really. This debug will show both t.30 and t.38 debugs.
It will show the actual t.30 or t.38 fax messages such as CNG,LCS and EOM.
You can find the state diagram for t.30 on the ITU site:
    http://www.itu.int/rec/T-REC-T.30-199303-S/en
    section 4.2 figure 9.
For PGW/HSI, you can either do GW controlled fax or call-agent controlled fax. If you have all cisco GWs, gw-controlled fax is simpler to configure.
If you are doing call-agent controlled faxing, make sure fax is enabled on the PGW/HSI:
    http://cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/vcallcon/ps2027/products_feature_guide09186a00807dca5a.html
(t.38 is desirable rather that t.30)

  • Re: [iPlanet-JATO] Tomcat 3.2 serving images and html?

First of all David you are faster responding to email than I am. Thanks.
We tried your scheme with no luck. You are using "ROOT" as your war file
name ROOT, correct? Are you sure the jsp would reference
"/images/MyProject/nppnback.gif"? Why is "MyProject" in there? Where is
the directory "images" defined to Tomcat? Is it a default?
    Here's another try at explaining:
    In my JSP I have;
    <IMG SRC="/images/ef.gif" ALT=People Banner">
    My application is in webapps/EformsAppWar
    (jsps in EformsAppWar/EformsApp/eforms/*.jsp)
    (classes in EformsAppWar/WEB-INF/classes)
    so images are in webapps/EformsAppWar/images
and there is, indeed a ef.gif there.
However with no server.xml changes (everything default), Tomcat 3.2
gives a 404 in his log and states in the 404 message that context is
    null (CTX < >) and ca't find /images/ef.gif + NULL.
By the way I just noticed that in Tomcat 3.1 I have the images directory
    directly under webapps.

    This works:
If the doc root is webapps\ROOT --
Using defaults...jsp's would be put in
    webapps\ROOT\MyProjectApp\MyProject\*.jsp
and images would be put in webapps\ROOT\images\*.gif
Then in your jsp...use the following reference:
    "/images/MyProject/nppnback.gif">
That will work just using defaults and not playing with any of the

ie. webapps\ROOT\WEB-INF gets updated as well (with required

  • Leopard Server Assistant and DNS Name

I am trying to setup Leopard Server in my home...
Server assistant launches I fill in the information and everything is fine... except I do not know what to put in the Server DNS name box. If I leave as is the server tools do not start because they cannot resolve the machine name.
In short what is going on...
    1. How do you change the machine DNS name after server assistant has finished running?
    2. What should I put in the DNS box?
    MACServer.local? or MACSERVER
    3. If I move to Dynamic DNS how do I change this later without having to re-install.
I have to admit that setting the server up, installing disks was easy but the DNS issue seems to be a real stumbling block for setting up a home server.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Tony,
    Thanks for the response.
My concern is that a normal home user will not be able to setup MAC Server 10.5 very easily without knowledge of DNS. (I will walk through a setup later on in the mail)
My point is that the average user will not be able to setup MAC Server. They will have difficulty filling out the setup wizard correctly - for this reason I cannot recommend it to a rookie. What is needed is a really simple setup scenario script that can be given to user so they can setup a MAC server in the home to support file sharing, intranet web browsing and time machine backups and central storage for users.
Don't get me wrong a MAC admin will find the changes in 10.5 a significant and fine improvement over past mac server setups and a leap frog over the Windows and Linux setup experience. Don't let anyone persuade you that Microsoft Home Server is a easy either. (Actually corrupts data with certain apps) - great testing Microsoft
    Back to good software...
MAC Server Setup example: (Newbie the new IT for the household)
Prior to setting up the server Newbie will need to define his system setup...
    i.e.
    Server Name [email protected]
    IP Address: 192.168.0.100
    Router: 192.168.0.1
Is the machine going to be a gateway or behind a firewall?
Will it distribute IP addresses for the home network etc?
These points are important as the DHCP and DNS go hand in hand. If the router is acting as a DNS relay and handing out IP addresses this may interfere with setting up the server to be primary DNS provider in the home.
    Walkthrough 1: Scenario:
Setup the server to be a simple server with only file sharing, web server and time machine.
    When asked Newbie enters:
    Domain name: pkjserv.technophobic.com
    Server Name:192.168.0.100 (DHCP) or manual
    Nebie configures the server...
after setup the first thing that will happen is that Server Preferences will launch it will populate with the above server data...
Problem: Newbie trys to use server preferences and types in his password and fails to get access...
Why... because Server preferences expects "pkjserv.technophobic.com" to resolve but DNS is not setup yet...
OK so Newbie needs to setup DNS...
    Newbie selects Applications/Server/Server Admin.app
(Newbie uses Magic to find Server Admin)
First prompt "Are you sure you want to use Server Admin?"
    Newbie selects "Use Server Admin"
(Newbie uses Magic to know he has to do this)
Connect to server via IP address 168.192.0.100
Select DNS add click to box...
    Expand 192.168.0.100 (our server)
    Select DNS
    Select zones...
Add primary zone / Select example.com
    Change Primary zone to "technophobic.com."
Select "ns" and Change Nameserver to "pkjserv"
Under primary domain select machine change machine name to "pkjserv"
Select IP Addresses and change to 192.168.0.100
    Click "save"
Newbie should have the following setup displayed:
    Name Type Value
    technophobic.com Primary Zone -
    pkjserv Machine 192.168.0.100
    0.168.192.in-addr.arpa Reverse Zone -
    192.168.0.100 Reverse Mapping pkjserv.technophobic.com
    ------- Start DNS...
The problem here is that DNS is working but Newbies IP setup is still not referencing the DNS server so newbie will have to add it to the network settings.
    Preferences / Network / advanced / DNS
once they have done this Newbie should be able to launch your browser and type "pkjserv.technophobic.com" and have it resolve to the web browser on the machine...
in short - this is difficult... hence my proposal that Apple need to create a simple setup scenario scripted document (fill in blanks) so a user can setup a MAC server in the home. Current docs do not allows an average user to install MAC OSX Server - I want a simple MAC Server that anyone can install...

  • TS3899 Rejected by server because does not allow relaying ?

Was not able to send an email or respond to an email.  Popped up saying "rejected by server because does not allow relaying".

What quite often fixes it so to try going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > select the account > account name , tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and try entering your email account and password and see if you can send emails from the account

  • Server won't send email relaying

Mail will not send keep getting msg. :msg saved server does not allow relaying: Help

Try going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > select the account > account name , tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and try entering your email account and password and see if it then works

  • Is it possible to let OS X Mail server POP and Sort

    Hi there!
I'm a current Kerio Mail server user and the way it's set up is like this:
All our mail gets delivered and spam-filtered at our hostingprovider's server, all mail drops into 1 big mailbox.
Kerio pops this mailbox every so often and distributes the mail to the users that are managed in kerio.
Is this setup possible with OS X Server mail services? We are receiving loads of spam and our connection acts up sometimes so this setup provides great availability.
    [edit]
i guess fetchmail comes into play ... it is installed but not configured
    [/edit]
    Message was edited by: Zimmen

    A few missing pieces here...
    1. Are you using Kerio on your machine, or that is what your hosting provider is running? (I will assume the former).
    2. Does your hosting provider accept mail to AnyUser@yourdomain, or only to legitimat users at your site? If the former, it is no wonder you are getting hammered by spam. You will take anything. Your provider might be able to filter against an RBL list, but that probably only takes out about 70% of the spam on a good day.
Anti-spam filtering takes place on the SMTP side of the server. Once the mail is delivered to your SP, you've got the mail and have to deal with it on the client side. Ugly at best. Fetchmail will not help you here.
OS X mail does have a pretty good selection of anti-spam tools. Most notably, SpamAssassin and greylisting. But both (greylisting in particular) require your mail server be the only mail server for your domain for best results.
Mail does not require particularly high availability. If your mail server is missing for a while, the sending site will try again later. Mail is very resilient to temporary failures. You could set up your SP as a backup MX host if you want, but I would submit that would increase your spam load when your server is down or missing (mail relay from a secondary host, short circuits the greylisting feature).
I do not know Kerio myself, but for mail alone, the built in mail services in OS X (current version) are pretty good. But you are shooting yourself in the foot by having your SP collecting mail for you, especially if they will accept any user.

    Hello everyone.

I have Toshiba Laptop Satellite A205-S5831.
Its Have Windows Vista Home Premium.
And I am unable to install SQL server 2000 and 2005.
I also Unable to Install Windows XP SP2.
    Problem is SATA driver.
    Plz Help me ...!
    Response me

    Hi
The Windows XP needs a SATA driver if you want to install it on the notebook with SATA HDD controller.
The SATA driver can be found in the Intel Storage Manager.
I would recommend using the nLite program to include a SATA driver into the new Windows XP CD and then to boot from the new created XP CD.
Here you will find all details regarding the nLite:

    Regarding SQL server issue;
Maybe you will be able to install in on Windows XP. Possibly there is a compatibility issue between the Vista and the SQL server software

It is not a bug, you might be using IE in Windows server 2012 and and browser might be restricting your site actions to respond properly.
Check this in a different browser or access site in a differ OS.
