Cisco FireSIGHT Management Center

Dear All,
I would like to ask that, is it mandatory to have Cisco FireSIGHT management Center OR Sourcefire Defence Center to configure and manage Cisco FirePOWER/ Sourcefire IPS appliances ?
Thanks & Regards

Adding to what adhogan mentioned - yes - except for the new ASA 5506 which, when used with ASDM 7.4, will allow ASDM-based setup.
Most use cases would still want to have an FMC though for always-on monitoring and archiving the data for retrospective analysis.
You do have the option of the small licenses that allow you to manage either 2 or 10 ASA module-based sensors. (FS-VMW-2-SW-K9 or FS-VMW-10-SW-K9)
For legacy Sourcefire 3D sensors (VMs or appliances) you need the full FMC/DC option.

  • Cisco FireSIGHT Management Center,(VMWare) for 2 devices

Has anyone had luck register the PAK for Cisco FireSIGHT Management Center,(VMWare) for 2 devices (FS-VMW-2-SW-K9)?  The process apparently involves logging into 'Defense Center' (part of the product I'm trying to download and install) to grab a license key.  Chicken and Egg situation to be sure.
TAC hasn't been any help to date, saying that I need to provide them with a license key.  Anyone?
    Thank you

So here's the answer.  With the purchase of FS-VMW-2-SW-K9 you also have to buy a SmartNet contract.  Once you successfully have that info, you associate the contract to your profile and are then entitled to download the virtual appliance software.  Once you have deployed the OVF file, you then get access to the 'licence key' or in this case MAC address that allows you to go ahead and fulfill the PAK to get the relevant licenses.  Lots of hoops but I did it.

  • Cisco FireSight Management

When propose ASA with FirePower Services its mandatory quote Cisco FireSight Management, right?
What are the differences between products below:
    FS-VMW-SW-K9

    FS-VMW-10-SW-K9
Only the devices that can managed?
    Best Regards,
    Pedro Martins

Yes, The only difference is  in managing the number of appliances
    FS-VMW-SW-K9                   25
    FS-VMW-2-SW-K9                 2

  • CISCO FIRESIGHT MGT CENTER F/10DEV DOWNLOAD

Hi,  I purchased this virtual appliance (CISCO FIRESIGHT MGT CENTER F/10DEV) with SmartNet to support two new Cisco ASA firewalls that I purchased on the same order.
I received an email from Cisco with the license number.  I cannot find any instructions to download the VM which is listed as a VMWARE appliance.
    Any ideas?

You can download the VM here.
Choose the Virtual Appliance under the 5.3.1 (current minor release as of this posting) heading - see screenshot below. If your cisco.com userid does not allow you to downlaod the image, please call the TAC and ask them to associate your ID with the product (you will need your sales order or support contract number).
Installation instructions and configuration guides can be found on the product support page here.

Assuming from my experiences, 2 PAKs are supposed to be issued.
    PAK_A : 1 PAK for ASA5515-CTRL-LIC (Entitlement Qty:2)
    PAK_B: 1 PAK for L-ASA5555-TAMC= (Entitlement Qts:2)
Also these FireSIGHTs which monitors these ASAs are H/A.
The SKUs of FireSIGHTs are following:
    -FS1500-K9
    -FS1500-BASE-K9
    In this case, I assume that these steps are necessary for generating licenses for ASA with FirePOWER Servies;
Go to license page ( www.cisco.com/go/license) and input PAK_A. Then following the steps and on “Add Device”section, should I input the following 3 devices license keys ?
    -Another ASA5515-FPWR-K9
    -FS1500-K9
    -FS1500-BASE-K9
And then 2 licenses which are one is for FS1500-K9 and the other is for FS1500-BASE-k9 are to be generated.
*I have to do that same operation for PAK_B.
Q1: Is this right? Do I understand the steps correctly ?
Q2 :If the answer for Q1 is Yes, does it mean that any license is not required for ASA with FirePOWER services ?

    Hi,
For the PIDs "ASA5515-CTRL-LIC" and "L-ASA5555-TAMC=" you will be provided with PAKs.
If you are trying to setup HA please check on the forum link for HA setup, https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12320876/how-can-i-make-my-license-high-availabilityor-ha-license
    Steps to register the PAK,
    1) Login to License portal ( www.cisco.com/go/license) with CCO ID
    2) Enter the PAK to register, click NEXT
    3) Enter the license key of the FireSight device (like FS1500) and if you want to add more devices for HA click on ADD device
    4) enter the license key of the second FireSIGHT for HA, click NEXT
    5) Agree to the terms and SUBMIT
    6) email with the licenses will be sent

  • FireSIGHT Management Virtual Machine download

Recently purchased an ASA 5512-x with FirePOWER services.  I am having trouble downloading the FireSIGHT management virtual machine because it says that I need additional licensing requirements to do so.  I have tried registering the Control License PAK that I received, but it asks for the License Key for the FireSIGHT Source Defense console, which I cannot download because I don't have licensing rights to that.  Feel like I am in a catch-22 situation.  Any suggestions?  Already filed a ticket with Cisco support who keeps insisting that I give them the Model_No + MAC_ID from the source defense console.  Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Marvin,
First, thank you so much for taking the time to try to help us resolve our  issues.  We are still waiting on a response from TAC.
    You said:
"It sounds like your cisco.com userid is not associated with the Smartnet service contract that includes the Firesight Management Center. "
Yes! We think you are correct about this and we are moving to resolve. Reseller has stated it IS resolved but alas, we don't think so... but we are not exactly sure where to look on the "new and improved" Cisco Licensing Portal.
You said we should have these license PAKs
FS-VMW-2-SW-K9           Cisco FireSIGHT Management Center (VMWare) for 2 devices
CON-SAU-VMWSW2           SW APP SUPP + UPGR Cisco FireSIGHT Mana
    Our invoice from reseller reads:
FS-VMW-2-SW-K9           Cisco FireSIGHT Management Center,(VMWare) for 2 devices
CON-SAU-VMWSW2           3 YR SW APP SUPP + UPGR Cisco FireSIGHT Mana
L-ASA5525-TAMC-3PR       Cisco ASA5525 FirePOWER IPS, AMP and URL 3 YR Subs Promotion
    We have recieved 2 PAKs:
    FS-VMW-2-SW-K9       Cisco FireSIGHT Management Center,(VMWare) for 2 devices     1
L-ASA5525-TAMC-PR=   Cisco ASA5525 FirePOWER IPS, AMP and URL Licenses Promotion  1
In addition, we have purchased the following options:
    CON-SNT-A25FPK9     3 YR SMARTNET 8x5xNBD ASA5525x with Firepower Services, 8G
    ASA5525-FPWR-K9     ASA5525-X with FirePOWER Services, 8GE, AC, 3DES/AES, SSD
ASA-AC-E-5525       AnyConnect Essentials VPN License - ASA 5525-x (750 Users)
    ASA-AC-M-5525       AnyConnect Mobile - ASA 5525-x
So....., as far as we can tell, this is all correct and we should have everything we  need.  But the reseller, whom we are trying out for the first time, has not exactly been responsive to our inquiries about this and is not winning any points from my manager.
When we attempt to enter either of our 2 PAKs, we are still directed to enter a License Key from SourceFire Defense Center which we cannot download because "Additional Enntitlement is Required".
I feel like I'm stuck in theat old Abott and Costello skit "Who's On First?"  ;)

Abhiram will address the following on the latest release of Cisco UCCX Version 10.0:
    Installation
Upgrade from previous versions - both Linux and Windows
Migration from MCS to Cisco UCS environment - Different methods and best practices
New features - Overview and limitations
This discussion will center on install and upgrade best practices, changes in hardware support, and migration methods from MCS to Cisco UCS. Hi Anurag,
    Thanks for your questions.
1:Is there change in DB architecture as CUIC is the only option as compared to previous linux version UCCX ?
I assume this is from the tables regarding historical data. The database schema essentially remains the same since UCCX 9.0 had CUIC too and we had a seperate DB Space for CUIC and we still continue with that. The traditional historical tables remain and the replication process remains the same too.
2:Is there any version change for Linux OS used as VOS,
The Linux version is Red Hat Linux 5. To be precise:
    [root@uccx10pub /]# cat etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.7 (Tikanga)
3:Is there any API architecture change in UCCX 10 from previous releases ?
I can answer this more of an overview. The only enhancement in the API side is the introduction of REST API step in the script editor. You can now make REST calls from the script and this ofcourse opens up a whole new world of possiblities.
4:Since from UCCX 10 , we can only use either CAD or Finnesse at one  time, whats the impact of changing this after some time in production,  let say , i used CAD for 2 months and then i decided to move to Finesse,  whats the impact ? or is it a smooth change as switching CUIC and HRC  in previoius release ?
For the scenario you mentioned, there is absolutely no problem. The point to note is that the Finesse services are activated/deactivated but the CAD desktop services are ALWAYS running. The only condition to keep in mind is that you can use ONLY ONE type of agent desktop at any time.  Also if Finesse is not used and CAD operations are used extensively, it is advisable to shutdown the Finesse service.
5:Is 3rd Party UCS hardware supported by UCCX 10 instead of using Cisco manufactured UCS , can i use HP hardware for Virtualisation ?
Yes, it can be used. This is something called as "Third party specs based specification". The most important things seen for compatibility are:
    Inter CPU Model
It it is on thVMWare Hardware Compatibilty List
You can get more information about this on the "Can I use this server?" section of UC Virtualized Hardware page:
    http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/UC_Virtualization_Supported_Hardware#.22Can_I_use_this_server.3F.22
    6:Is Host name change supported?
Yes, the hostname change is supported. The prcocedure is documented in the UCCX 10.0 Administration Guide:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_10_0/configuration/guide/UCCX_BK_W1AF9DDD_00_uccx-admin-guide-10.0.pdf (Pg 168)

    Hi Anthony,
    Thanks for the question.
This is an interesting requirement, since the UCCX trigger's configuration is translated only to the Call Forward Busy External setting on the CUCM.

As you would aready know, the UCCX will send an AXL request (within the SOAP envelope) to the CUCM to create this RP. Looking at the existing code, there does not seem to be a method where we are differentiating between CFB_internal and CFB_external while sending this request.
We have taken this as an enhancement request and also spoken to the business unit about the same. It has been added to the roadmap, we will reach out to you offline to understand the business case so that the process can be expedited if needed.
    Keep the questions coming

  • Management Center for CSA v.6.0

Help me please to solve the problem.
I had installed Management Center for Cisco Security Agent v.6.0. However I can't generate Agent kit.
The status of all Agent kit is "Needs rule generation". I try to generate rules but there is an error - Failed to prepare rules: Cmd_BulkInsert failed.

I've run into this a while back, BULK INSERT operations failing with no apparent reason.
Reapplying the latest SQL Server service pack and/or the latest MDAC (on the MC system) resolved the problem.
I would start with the MDAC refresh, it may be enough to fix this.

  • Management Center for IDS Sensors - version error

    Hi
I’m experiencing problems installing an IDS on CiscoWorks2000 Management Center for IDS Sensors. When I add a sensor I get the following error “Error importing configuration files from the sensor - Could not find version in string "Unknown version” with “discover settings” ticked. The sensor is an IDS 4210 version 3.0(5)S17. I have tried to install manually but keep getting “sensor not connected” in Security monitor.

You will usually get this error message when there's a problem with, SSH Fingerprint.
Check the following URL for work around.

  • Cisco Operations Manager

I have an issue to setup synthetic tests for a customer. Because of a bug in cube software we occasionally see that incoming calls are not possible before we choose another active cube gateway or restart the inactive cube gateway.
The issue is that we do not get an alarm when this problem occurs and we will not be able to detect the outage which affects all phones in this specific company.
My goal is to setup a synthetic end-to-end test from Cisco Operations Manager to perform random test calls to the customers call center numbers or main numbers. E.g. I would like to setup a test where incoming calls can be tested for success or not.
I am not sure if that is possible at all or if there would be some other ways to work around this.

You need to make sure CUOM is like a station on the clients lan.
How you achive this is up to you. You can create a VPN towards the client networks.
I think its best to avoid NAT.
    Cheers,

  • Cisco ASA management

    Hi,
We have about 50+ Cisco ASA and want to have centralize managment software similiar to Checkpoint ->Provider1 or McAfee Control Center or Fortinet->Forti manager.
We already have CiscoWorks, but need something specialy for firewall with firewall specific features, not just the configurations backup support like CiscoWorks.
Please advise that whats the best option.
    Thanks

Have you already looked into CSM, Cisco Security Manager? Thats the "native" enterprise security management-tool from cisco: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6498/index.html

  • Management Center for Firewalls question

I'm running the Management Center for Firewalls 1.2.2 software. I have a few PIXes with AAA authentication. The thing is that when I do an import configuration from a PIX the software asks me about the AAA user/password but not the enable password.
Does someone know if this is the normal Behavior? Can I force the software to ask for the enable pass also?

You may be able to do this. Try this link. It has some information about the Firewall Settings.
