Cisco Firmware 1.5.3.1101 and 1.5.3.1201

The 1.5.3.1101 firmware apparently has problems.  There are several (probably more) Comcast customers in Palm Beach County all indicating thier CableCARD with this firmware is reporting that there is no CCI flag for some channels.  This is causing problems with channels and specific content that has CGMS copy protection for some CableCARD tuners and software combinations.
There are three Comcast customers indicated in the updated area in this thread:
http://www.silicondust.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=16218
Is Comcast not including a CCI flag in the Palm Beach County area for some channels, is the apparently faulty 1101 firmware blocking the CCI flag, or is there some other answer?

Apologies for this issue. It looks like our local south Florida team investigated and rolled back to an earlier version of the firmware which resolved the issue. Details on page 2 of the thread you posted above.
Our team continues to work directly with Cisco on this. Thanks for your patience.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 client version 1101 and 1104 queries

There are several samples of collection query code for SCCM 2012 R2 client version 5.00.7958.1000, which is the base R2 client version. Patches can change this to 5.00.7958.1101 and 5.00.7958.1104. But there is a problem. These two patches
display as 1101 and 1104 when you go to Control Panel\Configuration Manager\General tab but when you go to Programs and Features and look in there the DisplayVersion is 5.00.7958.1000--so all query code samples are unable to different between the base versions
and version 1101 and 1004. I have been unable to find out how to write a query that finds version s 1101 and 1104. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks.

Use ClientVersion from SMS_R_System within a console query or ClientVersion0 from V_R_system in a SQL query.
Even this can be deceptive though because the agent only reflects the highest version number of one of its subcomponets. This post, specific to 2007, describes the complexity: http://blog.configmgrftw.com/configmgr-client-hotfix-versioning/.
Specific to your question though, why do you care if either of these hotfixes are distributed to your clients? 2905002 is only necessary during WinPE (and if you are actually not using download on demand content during OSD) and 2910552 is only applicable
if you are rolling out Win 8.1 using a single TS to your XP systems using a refresh methodology.

  • When is Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 released, and what does 2.0 offer?

We are running Prime Infrastructure 1.3 primarily for wireless management at this point.  We have enough licenses to add all our switches, routers, and firewalls, but we're hesitant to do so until 2.0 comes out.  While there are some features for backing up and configuring switches and routers, 1.3 still seems pretty limited in regards to non-wireless features.  For example, nearly every report in 1.3 is for wireless controllers or AP's, there are no reports I've found relevent for switches and routers.  I've read a lot of blogs, cisco posts, and white papers talking about how Cisco Prime Infrastrucure 2.0 will finally consolidate Prime into a truly all-in-one network management suite that can manage the entire Cisco environment.  Does anyone know when it's officially being released?  Does anyone have an tech sheets on what's new in 2.0, or what its capabilities are?  I want to better understand what 2.0 has to offer, when it's coming out, how to upgrade, so I can start planning for the upgrade and eventually importing all our network devices to Cisco Prime for centralized management.  Any useful information or links would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Christian

PI 2.0 is in Beta mode for testing in closed group already. However it may still take some time to get released on CCO for FCS.
I think it is expected to be released between aug-sep. BU has also started working on CPI 2.1, which you can see test uploads on CCO.
For what does it have for customers?
    > As Cisco have a vision of one network Management software for both wired and wireless infrastructure, which started getting real partially with Cisco PI.
As WCS got evolved to NCS and eventually to Cisco Prime Infrastructure, but it doesnt yet have full Management capability for wired infra., which is there with LMS.
With CPI 2.x Cisco plans to blend entire LMS and WCS features together.

  • Cisco-avpair for both NX-OS and IOS

Using freeradius2-2.1.12. I need to setup read-write access for both Cisco NX-OS and IOS devices. I did the following,
    DEFAULT Group == operator-rw, Auth-Type = System
             Service-Type = NAS-Prompt-User,
             cisco-avpair := "shell:roles*\"network-admin vdc-admin priv-lvl=15\""
I can log into both NX-OS and IOS devices; however, IOS devices only  permits exec mode not the privileged exec (enable) mode.
Is there a different syntax that can make this work for both NX-OS and IOS?
    Norman

As you have noticed IOS and NX-OS are a little bit different. With NX-OS there isn't a "disabled" mode but just netowrk roles. For IOS can try pushing for example "cisco-avpair =shell:priv-lvl=7" and then define a local priv level 7 on the network device with the needed commands

  • WRT54GS - Updated my firmware to v1.52.8 and now it's extremely slow _

Hi there, I decided to update my router firmware for the first time since I bought the thing 6 years ago. Before I updated the firmware I had an average ping to google.ca of 40ms, I am literally 2 feet from my router with an unobstructed view. Since the update to  v1.52.8 my ping to google.ca has jumped to 100ms. I've been testing this out all day to see if it was just a busy time of day but 8 hours later it's still the same. I played around with all the different frequencies, auto mtu, different manual mtu (1000-1500), different security settings (WPA2 is still the best) but to no avail.
PLEASE can someone help me revert back to the original firmware
I have searched high and low but can't find anything, thanks.

Hi Ben88, I don't think it's possible to downgrade the firmware to your old one. I also think that it is not safe.

  • Cisco 1900 switch support vtp version2 and etherchannel or not?

cisco 1900 switch support vtp version2 and etherchannel or not?
    Please help and reference.
    Thank in advance

    Hello,
Fast Etherchannel is supported on 1900 switches.
Please refer the below URL for details:
    http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/28201900/1928v9x/ee_scg/overview.htm#xtocid72765
I "think" you need to have Enterprise Edition Software. In case if you have a standard version, then you need to purchase the upgrade kit to upgrade to enterprise version.
As far as I know, VTP V2 is not supported on the 1900.
By the way, 1900 swiches are End of Sale and the last date of support is July, 2007.

  • I have a Cisco/Linksys WRT-54G wireless router and 2 Airport Extremes (the small ones that plug directly into the wall). Is it possible to extend the network from the router using these two AEs? I have a DVD player and Ext HD plugged into the router too..

I have a Cisco/Linksys WRT-54G wireless router and 2 Airport Extremes (the small ones that plug directly into the wall). Is it possible to extend the network from the router using these two AEs? I have a DVD player and Ext HD plugged into the router too. Any ideas? I'm guessing the only way is to do what I've seen in these community pages which states that it can be done but it will drop the bandwidth by 50%. Thoughts?? Thanks!

The Cisco/Linksys WRT-54G was one of the very few routers said to be compatible with Apple's implementation of WDS (Wireless Distribution System) settings.
The info that I have on file indicates that only the WRT-54G versions 4 and under were compatible, so that would be one bridge to cross.
Even if you find that your Cisco/Linksys might be the right version, Apple never published instructions on how to configure the Express devices with other manufactures, so users were left to their own devices to try to figure out how to get things working. Apple's instructions to connect to other Apple devices are in the link below:
    WDS network
If you were hoping to use 2 Express devices in this type of configuration...even if it works...the bandwidth penalties will be extremely severe.
The first Express drops the bandwidth (and speed) on the entire network in half and the second halves everything again. So, the result, in effect would be a "g" wireless network running at 25% speed. Few users would consider installing this type of network.
At this point, it becomes one of those things where the fact that you might be able to do something does not mean that there would be much value in doing so. But, it is your decision to decide if you want to try to proceed.

  • Does Cisco Media Services Interface mark RTP and Signaling packets regardless of Cisco Prime Collaboration/MediaNet Deployment?

    Hi there,
I'm deploying Cisco UC Integration Lync 9.2(5). There's a QoS portion which states that you can install Cisco Media Services Interface on the user's PC and is to be used with Cisco Prime Collaboration or MediaNet:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucilync/9/CUCI_BK_C0545A41_00_cisco-uc-integration-for-microsoft/CUCI_BK_C0545A41_00_cisco-uc-integration-for-microsoft_chapter_010.html#CUCI_CN_IDBE72E9_00
If we don't have Cisco Prime Collaboration or MediaNet, does Cisco Media Services Interface mark RTP and Siganling packets on the outbound regardless? Or do I have to manually set the DSCP values for the PC?
    Thanks,
    John

When you were placing the internal test calls, where was your phone located?   The RTP streams are usually only set up between the two endpoints (assuming no transcoder or MTP is used).
Have you have already checked calls between IP phones at your central site (where Unity is located) and IP Phones at site A?   Are these working fine?   If not, then it's likely you do have a QoS issue over the WAN to Site A.
Have you confirmed whether or not calls from the PSTN gateway at site A experience any voice QoS issues when transferred to an IP Phone at the central site?
Is the same codec is being used for the MGCP gateway as for IP Phones at that site (check the Region settings for the Device Pool it's in)?
If these things have all been checked, then you may want to consider collecting a simultaneous sniffer trace from each end of a single call, and comparing what's seen at the two endpoints.
    Kind regards,
    Craig

  • SG300-28 Firmware 1.1.2.0 and 1.2.7.76 - Dynamic VLAN+freeRADIUS - Client get rejected

    Hello ladies and gentlemen,
I am using several SG300-28 Switches with firmware version 1.1.2.0.
I have dynamic VLAN enabled. As RADIUS server I am using freeradius 2.1.12.
Authentication is only based on the MAC address. (I configured that on the switches)
On the switches I created three VLANs. VLAN100 for the authenticated clients, VLAN200 for Management interface and VLAN300 as Guest VLAN. After a wrong authentication the clients should be put into this Guest VLAN immediately (I configured this on the switches).
I am using Windows XP and Windows 7 clients in my network. I did not configure any EAP settings because I just wnat to use the MAC address.
In most cases the dynamic VLAN assignment and authentication is working fine. The switch log says that the client is authenticated and the same I can see on freeradius log. But in some (rare) cases the client is rejected. The CISCO log says "MAC aa:bb:cc:dd:ee:ff was rejected on port ge17" but when I look at the freeradius log then this MAC address was successfully authorized.
The problem is that the client gets an IP address based on the Guest VLAN300 but after that the switch seems to "switch" the VLAN on the port and then the client is authenticated correctly on the right VLAN but the client does not request a new IP on the new VLAN.
If I unplug and re-plug the LAN cable in most cases the client get the correct VLAN and the correct IP.
This is happening randomly on nearly all my PCs.
I would really appreciate your help. Do I have to set some timers higher ? I don't think it is a problem between switch and RADIUS but a problem between communication of the host and the switch.
Thank you very much for your help!
    Regrads
    Alexander Wilke

This is from my CISCO log. The computer is always online but there are repeatingly rejects and then with a delay of some minutes an accept.

  • RV110W (firmware 1.2.0.10) and bonjour

I run all apple devices - Mac Pro x1, Mac Mini x2, iPad x3.  Recently, during the last couple of Apple update cycles I have been noticing slowdowns on wired and wireless connections through the wireless router RV110W.  Desktop machines are largely unaffected, but the iPads generally suffer slow http access and cannot stream reliably.
An update to the latest firmware did not resolve problems.
The log files are filled with two types of entries.
"mDNSResponder: ERROR: getOptRdata - unknown opt 65002"
"mDNSResponder: ERROR: getOptRdata - unknown opt 4"
These messages seem to be related to bonjour.  I disabled Administration>Bonjour and this seems to help.  However, I want to continue using bonjour for the autoconfiguration capability.
Any recommendations?  Is this a bug on apple or cisco's side - or both?

Further investigation reveals that the rv110w is behaving badly on the network.  This is after a few months of having the hardware work well together.  Substituting a new router (different manufacturer) made the network normal.

  • SG300-28 RADIUS accounting firmware 1.0.0.27 and 1.1.2.0

    Hi,
I am using the CISCO SG300-28 with firmware version 1.0.0.27. I enabled RADIUS authentication and accounting. Authentication is working but there are no accounting requests/replys (Accounting on, accounting off, accoun ting start, accounting stop) when running RADIUS in debug mode. I also did a packetcapture and there are no accounting packets.
So i updated the firmware image up to version 1.1.2.0.
When I now want to configure accounting in RADIUS settings then there isn't any option to set an accounting port.
Ich checked the data sheet of the switch and it says that accounting is supported:
    ===============================================
802.1X: RADIUS authentication and accounting, MD5  hash; guest VLAN; unauthenticated VLAN, single/multiple host mode and  single/multiple sessions
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps10898/data_sheet_c78-610061.html
    ===============================================
I did a second packet capture with the new firmware image and there are still no accounting packets.
The RADIUS server is configured correct for accounting because when using another NAS like a WLAN-AP with DD-WRT accounting is workings. It is working with pfsense Captive Portal (an open source firewall and routing solution with a hotspot portal).
    Thank you for your feedback!

  • Cisco RV 120W VERY slow performance and being unreachable

    Hello!
I have strange issues with my RV 120W, which I bought after the recommendations from a Cisco/Linksys pre-sales support. I'm using this unit for SOHO environment with two clients (computers) connected and a few mobile clients. Nothing special and nothing complex. I replaced my WRT610N router with this one on behalf of the VPN features, the RV 120W offers.
Before initial setup I upgraded firmware to it's latest (1.0.1.3).
The issues I'm having with this thing are:
    - very slow WLAN performance. And I mean - very, very slow. After doing some analysis I'm having a drop from 10Mbit/s to a stable speed of only a few houndrets of kilos per second. Even less. An average, constant speed test show no more than 50-80 kB/s. And I have a 20/20Mbit link.
    - very slow WAN - LAN performance. Although not as slow as WLAN, even LAN is somehow slow with an average throughput from WAN to LAN show no more than 15Mbit/s.
    - WAN IP address - host cannot be reached. After setting up the router to be able to echo the PING and be remotely managed, I can achive both services JUST for about 20 seconds after the unit reboots. After those 20 seconds, remote management sessions are timed out and the host is unreachable. But If I reboot the router again, I get it to work again - for no more than 20 seconds.
As this is my first (more) professional router, I'm not really sure if I've got my VPN setup correctly. I cannot get it my VPN to work either and I can't tell if these issues are related.
    Any help would be appriciated.
    Thanks

    Hey Juka,
Sorry your having issues with the rv120w.
I seen that you upgraded the firmware on the rv120w when you got it.  I always do a factory reset of the device when upgrading the firmware.  I will first backup my configs, factory reset the device, then reload the configs.
Try that since you did do a firmware upgrade to see if the device speeds up for you.
The wireless issues you were describing, I would do a wireless scan using a wireless analysis software like INSSIDER or something like it, that way you can see the wireless channels that are being used and set your router manually to a channel that has no or the least congestion.
Try this and let us know what you get.
