Cisco HSM - Error logs location

We have recently procured High-Performance Subnet Manager 1.2
The product is monitoring Infiniband Fabric
Does this device collect error logs from infiniband switches and if yes, how can we obtain a summary of these Infiniband errors.
I have the User Guide for this product but nothing is mentioned about this feature.
The guide talks about performance manager and a location /var/log!!
can somebody give me some idea on obtaining infiniband switches related logs from HSM.
Many Thanx

Hi,
This Subnet Manager does not collect error logs from the infiniband switches. The logs would indicate SM logs such as devices logging in and logging out of the infiniband fabric. The SM is used to service the Infiniband fabric like routing traffic, allowing devices to log in and out of the IB fabric and is not meant to be used to manage the switches.
There is a better tool if you want to look and troubleshoot the Infiniband fabric called FACT:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps9471/tsd_products_support_series_home.html
You can use this tool to collect switch logs and to a certain extent manage the switches.
Please let me know if you need any further help.
Thanks,
Nikhil

  • Web Dynpro error log location

I'm pretty new to Web Dynpro and have a few questions regarding the location of the different error log.
    1. Sometimes the web dynpro IDE prompt up saying "please check the error logs for details". Where is the error log located?
    2. After i deployed and run the Web Dynpro application, there is a "Red Exclaimation" picture and the bottom of the web page. Where to find this error log?
    3. Where is the error log for run time error, eg, NULL POINTER exception etc ?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi julius,
    1) Go to windows->preferences->workbench->workspace->current workspace. Open directory, go to ".metadata" folder and check ".log" file
    2) 3) In my case it is C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC02\j2ee\cluster\server0\log\defaultTrace.trc (J2E - SID, JC02 - 2nd instance)

  • How to change error log location

I have been trying to change the location of the SQL 2005 error log. It's logging to the default location at C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\LOG
I want to move the log location to the E drive because it can get quite large.
I already changed the setting in the SQL Server Error and Usage config tool, but this did not seem to make a difference.
Can someone tell me please how to do this?
    Thank You,
    Ed

The errorlog location is controlled by the -e startup parameter, which is read from the registry at startup.
You can change the default location from the SQL Server Configuration Manager.  Open the properties for the SQL Server Service and find the Startup Parameters entry on the Advanced page.
By default the entry looks something like this:
    -dD:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\DATA\master.mdf;-eD:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\LOG\ERRORLOG;-lD:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\DATA\mastlog.ldf
Change the path after -e to be anything you'd like.

  • Error Log Location

    Hello Community,
Earlier this week, a support ticket was opened for a NetWeaver WebAS ABAP instance having trouble printing.  I found the root cause; it was an inaccurate profile parameter (rspo/host_spool/print).
Tracking down the problem was a bit cumbersome....  Not only did the output request properly generate, but the print event finished successfully (albeit no printing took place).  I couldn't find any log files from the WebAS that indicated that an external command was failing to execute.
Where would a log for an invalid shell/OS command be found? Was there a more efficient way to solve this problem?
    1.) Print from SAP (db02 -> users -> print -> sp01 -> print directly)
--> print successful, but nothing printed
2.) Print from the OS as <sid>adm (lp -d device file.txt)
        --> print successful
3.) Checked output device in SPAD
        --> everything looks kosher
4.) Checked for entries in  /var/spool/lp/logs/requests
--> only requests from OS print requests recorded
5.) Scratched my head for a bit
    6.) Checked profile parameter "rspo/host_spool/print"
        --> facepalm
    Regards,
    Zach Shay

    Orkun,
Thank you for the reply.  In this particular instance, the print command was trying to run a script that did not exist.
In case you are not familiar with *nix environments, here is a little background.  When a command is successfully executed from a shell, it typically returns "0."  If there is an error, the return value is typically non-zero.
    [root@xxx ~]$ doesNotExist.sh
    doesNotExist.sh: Command not found.
    [root@xxx ~]$ echo "$?"
    1
    [root@xxx ~]$ echo "$?"
    0
doesNotExist.sh doesn't exist, so an error message is printed, and 1 is returned.  $? is a shell variable for the current return code.  Since printing the current return code succeeded, echo returned 0 (as demonstrated by the second echo command).
Does WebAS ABAP have the ability to recognize when an OS command returns non-zero?  If so, where would this be logged?
    Thank you,
    Zach

  • Server 3.2.2 authentication errors log locations

I have trouble to find log files to where Calendar, Contacts, Profile manager and web server are logging authentication failures (wrong user name or password) for logging attempts made either trough web interface or caldav, carddav?

  • BSOD error log location

I have a couple computers that are getting blue screens on Win7. When I check the event logs, it shows that it shut down unexpectedly, but there isn't a "Save Dump" option like in XP. Where are the STOP codes saved in Win7?

    Hi,
    Please perform
    System Restore
to the point when the issue hadn’t been occurring.
After that, you may test this issue in
    Clean Boot
    and Safe Mode
    to determine the possible cause.
If it works fine in Clean Boot, the root cause can be the third party software. If the issue reoccurs in Clean Boot, but works fine in Safe Mode, the
cause can be the incompatible hardware drivers. You may narrow down the causes in Device Clean Boot.
    Device Clean Boot
    =================
    1. Click Start, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the Search bar and press Enter.
    2. Expand "Sound, video and game controllers".
    3. Right click on your sound card and then click "Properties.
    4. In the dropdown menu of Device Usage, please choose "Do not use this device (disable)" and click OK.
    5. Please use the same method to disable other dubious hardware such as: internal modem, network card and CD-R drive. Please note some devices such as
video adapter are not available to be disabled.
If the issue persists, would you please upload more minidump files for further research?
    Collect Minidump Files

  • Error Logging into Cisco Agent Desktop whilst using Cisco IP Communicator

    Hi there,
I am having an issue whilst using Cisco Agent Desktop Version 7.0.  If I use a cisco IP Communicator ( softphone) i get following message, "Login failed due to a configuration error. Please ask you system administrator to associate your phone with the RM JTAPI Provider user ID according to the instructions in the admin guide".
If user logs in to a normal Cisco phone then logs into agent there are no problems.
Bit of a novice so your help would be appreciated.

    Hi
In your AppAdmin pages on UCCX, in the Unified CM Configuration screen, there is an 'RM' user defined.
This will be a user in CCMAdmin 'Application Users', which has all your CCX phones associated to it. UCCX uses this to CTI control the handsets... you need to associate the CIPC phone to that user.

Did you ever find a solution? I am in sort of the same boat. I even had an Adobe rep try to help me. For some reason my Adobe App Manager does not work on my Macbook. It orginally did but one day it just would not launch. After numerous attempts of uninstalling and re-installing without success, the only workaround solution was to create another user on my Macbook and install the Application Manager on that user's account. I can then download the apps / programs and updates from there. When I log out of that user and back into my main account the Adobe programs work....well most of them. I have noticed that certain programs, like Muse will launch and work correctly under my second user account but it will not luanch without error on the main account.
The fact that no one at Adobe seems to be able to provide a solution is frustraing. Everything worked fine one day, then its all messed up. Switching users is not an ideal solution at all.

  • Write SharePoint Custom Error logs into physical location

    Hi
I need to programmatically write a custom error logs using SPDiagnosticsService class into my custom physcial location.
But when i use SPDiagnosticsService it will write error logs into 15hive\logs folder instead i want to write into my physical location(say C:\Logs\Error.log)
       How to achieve this?
    Regards,
    Siva

    Hi,
SPDiagnosticsService has a property 'loglocation' and it only points to one location. I reckon, you can not use one location for SharePoint log, another one for custom log - if you use SPDiagnosticsService. What I do for my SharePoint projects is, create
a custom logger, which wrap the SPDiagnosticsService inside. Then My Logger class write the log into some custom location (configurable through web.config or by other means) as well as pass it to SPDiagnosticsService. Having a custom log file for custom solution
helps to find problem very quickly and easily - which would be difficult if you would need to go through large log files. So I can suggest, write a custom logger, wrap SPDiagnosticsService  inside the cutom logger. Then on every Log Event, write in your
cusotm file and if you want you can pass the event to SPDiagnosticsService  also.
    Thanks,

  • Locating Error Logs

I appreciate any help I can get with this issue. I am supporting an existing forms 5.0 and reports 3.0 application. Here is the basic environment:
Oracle client on users' machines (Windows 2000 & XP)
    Source files on server (Windows)
Oracle 7 database on server (UNIX)
There are a few specific reports the same problem. When a user runs one of these reports, the process may stop before the parameter form displays. They see a "busy" cursor for a few seconds and that is it. If this happens, the report behaves the same for following attempts. Often, a reboot of the user's machine or waiting a few days may fix the problem.
I am attempting to identify the cause of the problem but am unsure where to start. Would the error log be on the client machine or the server? And how would I locate it?
    Richard

    Hi Mrigendra,
Please re-initialize the SNP planning area (program : /SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_INITIALIZE) and then check the consistency by executing the program: /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_CONS_CHECK. If you observe any inconsistency in the log/spool, then re-run the program: /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_CONS_CHECK to observe all green.
It is recommended to run the consistency program after any master data change. The initialization program should be run at least weekly.
Try transfering the data again from DP to SNP to see if the error reappear.
    Hope this helps.

    Nawanit

  • How do I change the location of the coldfusion-out.log and coldfusion-error.log files in CF10

When I change the log location in ColdFusion Administrator it changes the location of most but not all the log files.  I have a requirement from my customer to place all log files on a separate partition on the server.  For ColdFusion 9 I was able to modify the registry settings to change StandardOut and StandardErr for the ColdFusion Jrun service.  This does not appear to the case for ColdFusion 10 which now uses Tomcat 7.
I tried modifying log4j.properties file and was able to relocate the hibernatesql.log, axis2.log, and esapiconfig.log but not the coldfusion-out.log.
I am running ColdFusion 10 Enterprise Edition on a 64-bit Windows 2008 Server.

The location of the rest of the ColdFusion logs can be changed in the ColdFusion Administrator.  Go to the Debugging and Logging section, Logging Settings.  There is a form at the top of the page where you can change the log storage location.

    Thanks,
    Master

I am having this same issue as well.  I upgraded our BI and BI Portal to SP12.  Everything worked fine.  Then I started the BI integration as outlined in OSS note 917950 -> Setting up BEx Web - Problem analysis.doc and restarted the J2EE engine and now I have this same error in the default trace and I can't log into the visual admin as the j2ee_admin user.  I get "error while connecting".   But I can connect to the visual admin as myself.  If I login to the BI portal as my self and click on user administration I get this error "A required service for the identity management user interface is not available. Contact your system administrator"
Here's the error as seen in the default trace file that keeps repeating.

  • IPhoto Crashes all of the time. Attached Error Log. Please help?

Attached is the error log. I've tried creating a new library and running disk utility. iPhoto crashes after a few minutes of use, especially when trying to edit photos. Any advice? The crashing is chronic and has occured for some time now (months).

Can I keep my albums, etc.?
Back up first, just in case, but it shouldn't effect your library.
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
