Cisco-ids ipv6 support

Hi All,
Is/will cisco-ids support ipv6 for command&control and sensing?
Thanks
Henk

1) an "enhancement request" is a way for us to track that somebody is interested in a feature. This means that every time we look at doing a binary update, we will be reminded of the feature request and can prioritize it against other things we want to do. A lot of prioritization information comes from Marketing feedback, so I encourage you to make sure that your sales channel knows your needs. In short, its not planned so I can't say if it will ever be there.
2) correct...no dates announced yet.

    Hi
How good is IPv6 support on the 3550 with the latest firmware?
I use them now as routers/L3 switches.
Must I replace them, or still going strong when i implement IPv6?

  • IPV6 Support in Cisco IOS

I am having a difficult time determining why on a 2811 running IOS c2800nm-advsecurityk9-mz.150-1.M2.bin,  the router won't accept ipv6 commands.  The feature set from what I can discern includes ipv6 support. However, I have received mixed views.  Does advsecurity image support ipv6 or do I need adv ip services image?

The philosophical direction of Cisco is to have full IPv4 and IPv6  parity across feature sets.  Any IPv4 feature should appear in the same  license level of software for IPv6.
That said, some older software and platforms may have been missed.
    See
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/community/netpro/network-infrastructure/ipv6-transition/blog/2011/09/21/ipv6-feature-packaging-in-cisco-routers-and-switches
See if the problem persists with the latest version.  If so, I'd treat it as a bug and open a case.

  • IPv6 support in Cisco UC - especially CUAC

    Guys,
Does anyone have any recent detailed information on IPv6 support and Cisco UC?  The documentation on CCO is out of date by 3 years and doesn’t include information on applications such as Attendant Console (CUAC).  The latest documentation from the UC 10.0 Beta Training is very high level.  With key features like extension mobility not supporting IPv6, it’s difficult for us to advise customers on deploying a Cisco UC deployments whilst they are planning migrations to IPv6.
    Does CUAC support IPv6?
Any updated details on Cisco UC support would be very much appreciated!
    Thanks
    Jonny

  • Cisco switches that support IPv6 L2 security

I'm looking for Cisco switches that support IPv6 layer 2 security. The following features are required:
    MLDv2 snooping [RFC4541]
    DHCPv6 snooping [RFC3315]
DHCPv6 messages must be blocked between subscribers and the network so that false DHCPv6 servers cannot distribute addresses.
Router Advertisement (RA) filtering [RFC4862, RFC5006]
RA filtering must be used in the network to block unauthorised RA messages.
    Dynamic "IPv6 neighbour solicitation/advertisement" inspection [RFC4862]
There must be an IPv6 neighbour solicitation/advertisement inspection, as in IPv4 "Dynamic ARP Inspection". The table with MAC-address and link-local and other assigned IPv6-addresses must be dynamically created by SLAAC or DHCPv6 messages.
Neighbour Unreachability Detection [NUD, RFC4861] filtering
There must be a NUD filtering function to ensure that false NUD messages cannot be sent.
Duplicate Address Detection [DAD, RFC4429] snooping and filtering
Only authorised addresses may be allowed as source IPv6 addresses in DAD messages from each port.
    Source: http://www.ripe.net/ripe/docs/ripe-501
I've looked around in some configuration guides for some Cisco access switches but I can't seem to find any switch supporting these functionalities.

    See if this helps.

  • Cisco Prime LMS 4.x IPv6 support

Is there a document that describles the IpV6 support for LMS?

It's not documented in any one place that I have found.
Joe Clarke covered it in a post a post early last year. See here.
Per the release notes, I don't believe LMS 4.1 has changed that significantly.

  • IPv6 support in JDMK 4.2

    Hi,
We are working on enhancing our product to support IPv6. Currently we are using JDMK 4.2 with JDK 1.5. Wanted to know if there is any information about JDMK 4.2 support for IPv6?
    1) Does it support binding using IPv6 interface
    2) Can it accept SNMP request over IPv6 and send traps over IPv6 interface?
Or should we migrate our application to newer version of JDMK?
    Regards
    -murali

There is IPv6 support in the ASA version 8.2.
We just posted an IPv6 Quick Start guide at https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-15973 and would appreciate feedback on it.
The Public Servers features is a NAT/PAT feature.  The good news is that the immense address space of IPv6 eliminates the need for NAT, you can just use use access lists to set up your policy.

  • IPv6 support in IOS

    hi,
we have a Cisco 2851 router and bought the following IOS::
    System image file is "flash:c2800nm-spservicesk9-mz.124-25d.bin"
Cisco IOS Software, 2800 Software (C2800NM-SPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.4(25d), RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
I thought this version was supposed to have IPv6 support?
    TEST(config)#ipv6 unicast-routing
                                  ^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
    TEST(config)#
    which IOS should we buy?

I think you need the IOS  advanced IP Services.

  • E4200 IPV6 support (and the removal of it)

    Dear Linksys representatives,
Could you please provide some detail on why IPv6 was available in the first builds of the router but then got removed in later firmware versions and the official lecture is that IPv6 is not being supported at all.
I've had a nice little chat with one of your representatives and they could not clarify this at all. Actually, they say no Linksys devices EVER supported IPv6 period, which does not seem to be entirely true. Saw that 1.0.00 (build 13) for the e4200 actaully has IPv6 support in it and the current build has not.
Could you also make a sticky post about IPv6 support on all Linksys devices with wether they will be supporting it in the future or not? Depending on the outcome to this question I'm deciding to return my Linksys device or not, since I actually need to have IPv6 support for development of new soft- and hardware.
    Kind regards,
    Michel
    ps: happy IPv6 day!
    http://www.worldipv6day.org/

The E4200v1 and E4200v2 both support IPv6 in the latest firmware.  Do you still have a problem?  See also: http://home.cisco.com/ipv6 for a list of routers and the test suites that they have past.
All future home routers are expected to have IPv6.

  • IPv6 support for sx300 series?

    Hi all,
I'm wondering if we are going to be seeing some better IPv6 support on these switches? Maybe even some static IPv6 routing?
    Thanks.

Apparently it's on the roadmap for 2012, so with a bit of luck we'll see it some time then:
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2113913
    Oh, whoops, it's already 2013!
Seriously though, an update on where this feature request got to would be appreciated - is there anyone at Cisco who can give us an update?.  Perhaps there's a version 8.0 of software for these phones about to be released with new support or something?  v7 has been out there a while now.

    Hi Mahesh,
It appears that you already have IPv6 support (under the interface) with the current version of the IOS.  The IOS should be the same for 2620 and 2621 routers.

  • ACE IPv6 Support

We've got a CSS11500, and know that we'll eventually have to replace it with something that provides IPV6 support.
Does the ACE for the Cat6500 support IPv6? We've got a 6513 and could add an ACE (and upgrade to IOS and the Sup720s).
If not, does anybody know of a Cisco IPv6 path for content networking.

The word I got from Cisco is that the ACE-20 module will not support IPv6. It will be supported in the follow-on hardware module (ACE-30) in 2H 2011.
We are in the process of pulling out several ACE-20's in favor of a competing vendor as a result of this disappointing news.
