  • Satellite C650-ICP Does it come with an internal mike?

I have had my C650-ICP for several months but have only just got around to trying Skype.
Internal mike not listed in the options for speaking. I was told when I bought the laptop that it had an internal microphone but no webcam.
However I cannot get the mike to work if there is one, so am wondering A. does this laptop version have a mike? and B.
If I have accidentally removed the software what should I be looking to install?

Sorry about the mixup with the model number, yes it is the C650-1CP.
The salesman did tell me it had internal mike (pointed to the two circles at the top corners of the screen frame) and that the computer was ready to go with skype (not a lot of point them installing it otherwise, or he would have tried to sell me a headset or something - it was about the only thing he didn't try to sell me).
If I could refer you to this thread where the lady or gentleman was told that he did not have internal mike when he had already used it:
    http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=60445&tstart=45
Is there a pm facility on this forum so I can ask him if he ever resolved the problem?
You see, it is difficult for me to know whom to believe, at the moment there are two for and two against!

  • External and internal mikes are not automatically switching over either recording or on voice calls

My laptop model name is HP Pavilion dv4-1100ea which is shipped with Vista Home premium 32 bits and has got service pack 1.
Restored the laptop to factory setting since then I am having the following problems; I had the same problem when my laptop was brand new and whenever I reset the laptop to factory setting I get the following problems:
    1. External and internal mikes are not automatically switching over either in middle of the recording using sound recorder or while the call in progress on voice calls (skype):
Using the sound recorder if I start recording the sound with external  mike  and in-between  recording if I  switchover from external mike to inbuilt mike and later on when I play back I can only hear the sound  up till where I used the external mike during recording, after the switchover to inbuilt mike I cant hear any sound.
But if I start the recording with inbuilt mike and in between recording  if I plug in  the external mike and later on when I play back I can only hear the sound up till where I used the inbuilt mike during recording , after the switchover to external mike I cant hear any sound.
So in brief both my external and internal mikes are working fine, only problem is that if I start recording (using sound recorder) or voice call with one specific mike, I have to continue with it till the end. I can’t switchover to another mike in between the conversation (voice call) or recording, if I do so, I have to select the mike manually in chat software but while recording I cant even select manually because in laptop, it takes the mike whichever is in current use as default mike in recording tab(sound window). The green tick automatically (in recording device tab) switches over according to the use of mike. Though the green tick in the recording tab is switching over automatically according to use of mikes, its not picking up the sound after switch over during recording.
    2. And also when I click on recording device tab in sound window and plug in external mike, though the green tick automatically switchovers from internal to external mike, while I speak both internal and external mikes volume meter respond to the sound inputs by rising and falling but if I take out external mike, green tick goes to internal mike and when I speak only internal mike volume meter respond to sound rising up and down not the external mike.
To resolve the issue I have tried following steps with no luck:
1.I have checked the mikes(internal and external) properties, the both mike shows to be enabled in general tab, in level tab the volume is set to 100 and in advanced tab , all options are selected.
    2. In device manager I have got only one audio driver named as “IDT High definition Audio CODEC”. I have uninstalled the audio driver and reinstalled it using scan for hardware option
    3. Uninstalled the audio driver in device manager and reinstalled the audio driver using recovery manager > advanced option> hardware driver re-installation.
    3. I have updated the BIOS(Insyde F.65, 12/02/2010).
    4. I tried to update the audio driver using below link but things went more worse so I did system restore (not factory setting though).

Sounds like you need to upgrade to the iPhone 5s
    The 5s has Touch ID
You can unlock your phone with your finger instead of typing in a key code
No swiping to unlock either, just touch the home button
You can enrol multiple fingers as well
Here is a video of it in action
    http://www.apple.com/iphone-5s/videos/#video-touch
Or wait and see what iPhone 6 has to offer
That being said, as desiel vdub posted if the phone is up to your face, the proximity sensor should turn the screen off
And when you lower the phone turn it back on again
Not sure about the phone locking when your on a call doesn't sound right

  • Recording from internal mike on MacbookPro

Trying to record to GB from internal mike, I get no bars on monitor nor anything is recorded. I'm sure all is connected, the internal mike monitor is showing working on the SYSPref audio level, but when I launch GBand I get nothing when I hit the record button. Help!

What have you selected as audio input source in GB's preferences?
Have you created a real instrument track?

  • No audio recording onn my imac with  internal mike?

I have no audio recording with internal mike. All sound preferences checked and input devices checked. tried PRAM and rebooting.

    Hi,
I take it you mean System Preferences > Sound > Input has the Mic Selected and the volume set high enough to make the Blue Bar move to about half way.
In the App you use to record does it have a place to Select the Input choice ?
Is the Internal Mic the devices selected ?

  • Cisco ASA and Internal Hosted Website

I have a Cisco ASA 8.4. I have an internal website for an application that they use both internal and externally (app.domain.com/app  is 10.0.0.3) The company that hosts their External Website and DNS created a record that points to http://app.domain.com/app to their public ip 1.2.3.4. Externally everything works great I have port forward for 80 working.  The problem is that when the users bring their laptops in to the office they are unable to get to the interanlly hosted website. I think the the firewall is having an issue letting the traffic back in. If i use the internal DNS and create a zone for domain.com with an A record for app.domain.com and point it to 10.0.0.3 the internal address..it works.  Of course when they try to access the external website it does not work. So if create an A record that points to the web hosts address, it kinda of works...parts of the website don't come up. I really think I there is something like a hairpin or u-turn that needs to be done. Oh by the way this is my first real experince with an ASA. The Symantec Gateway they had worked great. I looked in the config and there were no hairpin or crazy rules, just the standard port forward for 80.  Any ideas? I have tried several suggestions i found on the web, but none have worked.
    Thanks
    Nick

    Hi,
The main problem with such setup (from the ASAs perspective) is usually that the NAT for the server is configured from certain source interface towards some destination interface.
You might for example have this configuration
    object network WEB-SERVER
    host 10.0.0.3
    nat (inside,outside) static interface service 80 80
This would enable connectivity from the behind "outside" interface towards which the translation is configured but not from behind "inside".
I am not sure how different vendor firewalls handle this situation if you say that you only had the original Static PAT configuration towards the external interface.
If you wanted to enable connectivity to the public IP address from your LAN you would have to make a NAT towards the "inside" interface from the "inside" interface. And thats not all. You would also have to configure Dynamic PAT for the source hosts on the LAN behind "inside". The reason for this is that the ASA needs to see the whole TCP conversation between the client/server and since we PAT all the users to the ASA "inside" interface IP address that makes sure that ASA sees the whole conversation between the hosts.
So you could try this configuration on the ASA
    object network PUBLIC-IP
    host
    object network WEB-SERVER
    host 10.0.0.3
    object network LAN
    subnet
nat (inside, inside) 1 source dynamic LAN interface destination static PUBLIC-IP WEB-SERVER
The above configuration would essentially look for connections coming from behind "inside" interface from the source address belonging to LAN to the destination IP address of PUBLIC-IP and proceed to UN-NAT the PUBLIC-IP to WEB-SERVER and PAT the source address to "interface" (inside interface IP address)
You would also perhaps needs to add this command
    same-security-traffic permit intra-interface
This enabled the ASA to pass traffic through the same interface that the traffic arrived in. So basically do that Hairpin/U-turn
You can check the current configuration with the command
    show run same-security-traffic
Do notice that there is a similiar command with a different parameter at the end (inter-interface vs. intra-interface). So check that you have the correct one.
    Hope this helps
Let me know how it goes

  • Cisco ECDS & SNS "internal and external"

    Hello
I need an urgent help please , i have Cisco ECDS solution which will be integrates with Cisco SNS. I have two Cisco SNS (one will be internal and other will be for external).Based on the design and Cisco documents , i will have Cisco ECDS soluation (2 X Cisco SR , 2X SE,2X ACQ). My traffic flow , i will have two types for traffic flow:-
A-Internal , which will be from internal users.
    B-External , over internet.
My solution , i will put my two Cisco SR on DMZ.I will configure two SNS FQDN  "video.mycompany.com" and SR based on the IP address will disinguish if the traffic internal  or external. The question here :-
    video.mycompany.com 10.10.20.1 (SR IP address).
video.mycompany.com 10.10.20.2 (SR IP address as backup).
A-For SNS DMM pairing , how it will work?.On DNS ,SNS IP address will be SR IP addess , so the pairing will be done or i have to do other records on DNS. As i know the pairing done by FQDn for SNS and DMM.How can i do that , however the IP address of SNS will be the IP address of SR.
B-External SNS should use public IP address , or it can use any internal IP address?.because external SNS will map to SR IP address.
    Any Help Please.

So we actually figured this out today. The internal DHCP server was handing out a public DNS server along with the internal DNS. The internal DNS was timing out and the client was getting the external IP from the public DNS and it was receiving an unexpected cert from the router. Once we removed the public DNS servers from DHCP and only used internal DNS servers the issue went away. Makes sense after we realized what was going on.

  • Deploying Cisco ESA without Internal Mail_Server

    Hello Experts,
We have hosted our company email server  into an External Company (Mail Hosting Company),  and our internal Users are all connecting directly to that external company mail-server for accessing thier emails. we donot have anyother internal  Mail_Relay Server inside our company.
My Question is can we put any Cisco Ironport Email_Security  in this environment so that we have security for our emails ? without having any internal email-relay server ?

I think the answer is yes but it depends.  If the mail hosting includes the Internet mail gateway (your MX records point to the hosting company) then there's not much you can do about inbound protection.  If it is just hosting groupware and your MX records can point to your inhouse IronPort then you can do all the normal inbound protection (anti-spam, anti-virus, content checking, etc) and then pass it to the hosted groupware using SMTP as normal.  You would want to use TLS as you are likely going over the Internet to the hosting company.  Similarly for outbound protection, TLS from the hosted groupware to your inhouse IronPort which can do the normal anti-virus, content checking, encryption, etc.  You would have to factor in the extra bandwidth as all your mail will be flowing to and from the hosted environment.  Basically it is just lke any other installation with IronPort talking to groupware e.g. Exchange over SMTP but in your case that connection would be remote not local so you need to take appropriate steps (such as TLS) to protect the traffic.  But as I said at the start it depends on the hosted environment, what is being hosted and how much control you have over the configuration. Hope this helps.

I have a VPN clients which can connect to the VPN server and communicate  each other. I want to connect dedicated server to port FE 0/1 and all  VPN clients to be able to see and communicate with the server. How I can  connect the two networks?

Ideally, VPN connectivity is tested from devices behind the endpoint devices that do the encryption, yet many users test VPN connectivity with the ping command on the devices that do the encryption. While the ping generally works for this purpose, it is important to source your ping from the correct interface. If the ping is sourced incorrectly, it can appear that the VPN connection has failed when it really works. If ping works continuously then the problem can be that the xauth times out. Increase the timeout value for AAA server in order to resolve this issue.

  • Does the GC760AV/GC459AV w/ HP L1710 mon. have an internal mike? No reliable tech. support here.

I have a computer workstation that consists of a GC760AV/GC459AV w/ an HP L1710 monitor. I teach language and I need to be able to record my students. My other, older computers have a mic built into the monitors. I can't record, so I started to look for the mic. I can't find evidence that there is one built in.
    Can anyone tell me?

The "external IP address" which it resolves to is 82.98.86.161 www161.sedoparking.com - thank you for asking, I was previously assuming (incorrectly) that it was resolving back to the external IP address assigned by my ISP.
I'm still none the wiser as to why names are not being resolved at the linksys router for the internal network.

  • Can't record into Logic through the built-in mike

Hi guys, just faced a strange thing in Logic 8, want to record my voice through my MacbookPro's internal mike, so in Audio preferences I've put an in-built input, in System preferences put input and output to in-built speakers and mike, but I can't move the track level meter in Logic with my voice at all, and there's no waveform, no sound is going inside, i got just an empty audio region, while in the System's preferences window the level meter moves when I'm saying sth...What can it be?Anyone faced the same?
    Thank you

you need to select the build in microphone as the input in Logic Audio preferences as well.
it's the 1st on the drop down menu in Input Device Logic's Audio prefs.
And mute the output of the build in speakers or wear headphones

  • Record voice using internal microphone - How?

    Hi,
I have a voice tape recording which i want to record digitally to the computer so I can burn a CD. I tried quicktime but they want me to buy it and i have a vague memory of years ago using quicktime standard at the time and i could do it free. Any other suggestions as I rarely do this and dont really want to spend the bucks.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or assistance
    cheers
    Maxy

Well, you do have to use an application to record the input.
I believe you can use WireTap from Ambrosia Software for a 30-day trail period, fully enabled and free.

Also, although it will be more complex to set up, since GarageBand can record your voice (for a song or podcast), you should be able to use it to record simple audio input.
Also, you mentioned "internal mike," but you would get much better results if you fed the input through the iMac's audio input port, using whatever adapters are needed to convert the tape player output to the mini-stereo jack on the back of the iMac.
