Cisco IP-IP Gateway for Videoconferencing
Does anyone have any experience of using the Cisco IP-IP Gateway in a video conferencing context? Are there any limitations to be aware of, as compared to the IOS MCM Proxy?
The Cisco Multiservice IP-to-IP Gateway facilitates simple and cost-effective connectivity between independent Voice over IP and video networks. Designed to meet enterprise and service-provider Session Border Controller (SBC) needs, the Cisco Multiservice IP-to-IP Gateway is an integrated Cisco IOS Software application .

RV320: Need to use as gateway for multiple subnets
We just purchased an RV320 as a replacement/upgrade to an RV042. Our Internet connection was upgraded to 200Mbps and the RV042 wouldn't handle that throughput.
Our internal network has 4 subnets, all connected via a layer 3 switch. The RV320 is connected to one of those subnets and is the default gateway for the entire network.
The RV042 had a "multiple subnets" setting that allowed it to perform NAT for the directly connected subnet and the other 3 subnets in our network. We would just add the other networks to the list in the RV042 and everything was fine.
The RV320 doesn't seem to have the same functionality (or am I missing something?). It looks like there is some sort of multiple subnet support, but when we try to add another subnet the interface seems to be asking us to define a single IP address in that subnet (an IP address for the router?) as if all subnets will be directly attached to the router using VLANs (which is not the case in our network).
We can set up the "advanced routing" option to define the other 3 internal subnets and how to route to them, etc. but will the RV320 perform NAT for the other subnets without any adidtional configuration?
Can anyone shed any light on this?
Many thanks!Precept,
My name is Ismael, iam with Small Business Support Center. I like to start by asking is there a particular reason that the switch is handling Layer 3/or DHCP? Normally when an RV042 is implemented you would need a Layer 3 switch as the RV042 only supports one DHCP scope.In addition all The RV0XX series does not support 802.1q VLAN.
With RV320 you can setup multiple subnets under advance routing and still allow for it to pass DHCP for all of your 4 subnets and create 801.2q Vlan subinterfaces . Setting RV320 in this manner can create an ease in managing the network.
If you are considering the RV320 to do Layer 3 / DHCP simply create your 4 Vlans or subnets. Add them to the DHCP scope and enable DHCP server for all subnets. Switch would have to be configured to Layer 2 for this to work. The link below is a knowledge portal that could assist in creating DHCP and Vlans. Hope this helps you.

Cisco 2911 Voice Gateway SIP PSTN Calls Fail
Hello All,
I am having trouble with outboud SIP PSTN calls through a Cisco 2911 Voice Gateway. 2911 VG terminates PSTN SIP Traffic and connects to Avaya CS1000M via QSIG PRI Trunks. When calls are attempted outbound fron the PBX the caller gets a fast busy. Debug ISDN q931 shows the call hitting the 2911 properly, debug voip ccapi inout shows the call matching the correct dial peers and debug ccsip shows the invite to the PSTN Provider SBC, however within the invite the "from" address incorrectly shows the calling number with the provider SBC address (see below). does anyone have any insight on how to correct this? Attached are VG config and Debug isdn q931, voip ccapi inout, ccsip messages and ccsip call. Thanks in advance for any help!!

Please i need ur help ASAP -
1)
I am going to connect all mgmt ports of server to this access switch (L2; 2960x) like below. Then I have a management port in 2960x (FastEthernet / L3 port). As you can see below, even though one of Core switch is down, I am able to access through the other Core switch for mgmt SW. Do I need this FastEthernet port of 2960X?
Core Pri ------- Core Sec (Core Pri 192.168.1.2 / Sec 192.168.1.3 / HSRP VIP 192.168.1.1)
mgmt SW ----- (FastEthernet0) ------ Goes to where? I don't have RAS (Remote Access Server)

servers' mgmt ports

2) From server side, server put default gateway (192.168.0.1) so if destination is not known, it dumps all to default gateway. This is L3. I understand this. What about L2 default gateway from switch itself? The L2 access switch supports "ip default-gateway" command. I know that without this command still servers do not have any problems to connect to network. Then this command is for switch (2960x) itself? i.e I log into the switch and ping google.com then switch will try to resolve through DNS, but if DNS is not set up in the switch, it sends all traffic to "ip default-gateway"? Is it right?
3) If L2 (Access) switch has multiple data vlans and mgmt vlan (10.0.0.0/24 10.0.10.0/24 192.168.0.1). Then what will be the "ip default-gateway" for this switch?
Thanks for your time and knowledge.
======================== Reference from Cisco regarding ip default-gateway --------------------------------------
How to configure the ip default-gateway command on a Cisco 3550 series switch
VERSION 2
Resolution
To define a default gateway when IP routing is disabled, issue the ip default-gateway global configuration command. Then, enter the IP address of the next-hop router interface that is directly connected to the switch where a default gateway is being configured.
The default gateway receives IP packets with unresolved destination IP addresses from the switch. Once the default gateway is configured, the switch has connectivity to the remote networks with which a host needs to communicate.
Note: When the switch is configured to route with IP, it does not need to have a default gateway set.
For more information, refer to Assigning the Switch IP Address and Default Gateway.

Oracle optimizer and heterogeneous services (Transparent Gateway for ODBC)
Hi everyone!
We have the following configuration:
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - 64bit Production.
Oracle Database Gateway for ODBC 11.2.0.2.0 on the same machine as Oracle DB.
Non-Oracle DB installed on a different hardware accessed through Oracle Gateway for ODBC via dblink.
Now, we have to query the remote non-Oracle system and retrieve some data. For the sake of brevity let's suppose we have the following table in our non-Oracle DB:
create table test (
ip_address varchar(15),
start_time datetime,
end_time datetime
And we run the following SQL query against the remote table on our Oracle DB:
SELECT start_time,end_time,ip_address
FROM remote_table@db_link
WHERE
end_time >= to_date('2011-10-11 00:00:00','rrrr-mm-dd hh24:mi:ss')
OR (
end_time IS NULL AND start_time >= to_date('2011-10-11 00:00:00','rrrr-mm-dd hh24:mi:ss')
AND start_time <= to_date('2011-10-12 00:00:00','rrrr-mm-dd hh24:mi:ss')
AND ip_address = '127.0.0.1';
But, having query monitoring on the remote DB enabled, we see that the actual query on the remote site looks like this:
SELECT "START_TIME","END_TIME","IP_ADDRESS"
FROM "REMOTE_TABLE"
WHERE "IP_ADDRESS"='127.0.0.1' AND "START_TIME"<=?
All references to END_TIME column are gone from WHERE clause for whatever reason.
However, Oracle execution plan shows us the following:
| Id | Operation | Name | Rows | Bytes | Cost (%CPU)| Time | Inst |IN-OUT|
| 0 | SELECT STATEMENT | | 1 | 27 | 200 (0)| 00:00:03 | | |
|* 1 | FILTER | | 1 | 27 | 200 (0)| 00:00:03 | | |
| 2 | REMOTE | REMOTE_TABLE | | | | | DB_LINK | R->S |
Predicate Information (identified by operation id):
1 - filter("END_TIME">=TO_DATE('2011-10-11 00:00:00','rrrr-mm-dd hh24:mi:ss') OR
"END_TIME" IS NULL AND "START_TIME">=TO_DATE('2011-10-11 00:00:00','rrrr-mm-dd hh24:mi:ss'))
Remote SQL Information (identified by operation id):
2 - SELECT "END_TIME","IP_ADDRESS","START_TIME" FROM "REMOTE_TABLE" WHERE
"IP_ADDRESS"='127.0.0.1' AND "START_TIME"<=:1 (accessing 'DB_LINK' )
This actually means that Oracle CBO decided that it will apply filter on END_TIME column after having retrieved the data from the remote site. We don't want this behaviour but have no idea how to affect execution plan in this case.
So, the question is: How can we force Oracle CBO to not change the initial query and pass it to the remote site "as is"? Is there any way we can achieve this goal?
Edited by: user12024904 on 28-Oct-2011 04:05Hi,
Our Oracle DB and Gateway are running on the following system:
HP-UX B.11.31 U ia64
The following SQL code is executed in SQLPlus:
SELECT start_time,end_time,ip_address
FROM ip_acc_complete@gr_link
WHERE
END_TIME >= to_date('2010-10-21 00:00:00','rrrr-mm-dd hh24:mi:ss')
OR (
END_TIME is null AND START_TIME >= to_date('2010-10-21 00:00:00','rrrr-mm-dd hh24:mi:ss')
AND START_TIME <= to_date('2010-10-22 00:00:00','rrrr-mm-dd hh24:mi:ss')
AND IP_ADDRESS = '127.0.0.1';
Gateway debug trace shows the following:

The non-Oracle DB is CopperEye Retrieval Server with its own custom ODBC driver.
CopperEye query log shows that the following query is received from Oracle Gateway:
01/11/2011 14:26:31 - NEW QUERY :
SELECT "END_TIME","IP_ADDRESS","START_TIME" FROM "IP_ACC_COMPLETE" WHERE "IP_ADDRESS"='127.0.0.1' AND "START_TIME"<=?
which complies with the information in Oracle Gateway trace file.
So, it seems that it's Oracle DB decision to split the original WHERE clause into two parts, delegate one part to the remote site, retrieve the data and then apply the remaining filter locally. -
After I uninstall Cisco UC Integration(TM) for Microsoft Lync 8.6 from my computer and reinstall Cisco Jabber 9.2(3), I found my Jabber got the same interface of sign in with Cisco UC Integration(TM) for Microsoft Lync. it let me input the TFTP,CTI,CCMCIP server adress, instead of choosing the presence server and inputing the presence server address and domain.
after I sign in, it is aslo like Cisco UC Integration(TM) for Microsoft Lync, there is not the side button of contacts list, I can only search the person to call and can not send message or chat any more.
I tried many times to uninstall and reinstall Jabber,i failed, except I install Jabber 9.1(3), it works well. but I try to reinstall 9.2(3) again, it goes back like Cisco UC Integration(TM) for Microsoft Lync,why?
Thx.Hi,
You probably had CUCILync 9.2 installed previosly, and since CUCILync 9.2 is based on Jabber phone mode, the interfaces are the same. (You have Jabber phone mode nterface now)
These settings are written in jabber-boostrap.properties file and Jabber reads them from here.
That file is stored here:
C:\ProgramData\Cisco Systems\Cisco Jabber
If you delete thise file, interface should change.
If you want to install Jabber and avoid such things, do this with option clear=1
- msiexec.exe /i CiscoJabberSetup.msi CLEAR=1 ...

Error fetching data from a foxpro db using Oracle Gateway for ODBC
Hi.
I have an 10.2.0.1 database an a 11.2.0 Oracle Gateway for ODBC installed and configured.
The dblink test works fine, I can connect with the foxpro database because if I execute desc centros I can see the
columns of table centros.
The problem comes when I try to execute Select * from centros@fox1;
A syntax error is returned ([Microsoft][ODBC Visual FoxPro Driver]Syntax error. {42000,NativeErr = 200})
I paste down the output of the trace file with HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL=255
If I run select codcen from centros@fox1; another error is shown. Tell me if you want the other trace file.
select codcen from centros@fox1

Only 10.2.0.4 or 10.2.0.5 can be used as the Oracle database HS kernel requires a gateway compatibility patch and this patch is included in 10.2.0.4 or 10.2.0.5 Oracle database patch set.
Then another error in the trace is that for each column description you have an error:
hgopoer, line 233: got native error 0 and sqlstate HY091; message follows...

It seems it is not critical as DG4ODBC continues, but a more detailed analysis would require an ODBC trace.
When looking at the table description it seems the column names are all in lower letters, for example: solar. So commonly Dg4ODBC needs to quote the names

and according to the trace the FoxPro ODBC driver doesn't like these quotes and reports a syntax error.
So this explains at least why select codcen from centros@fox1 will fail. In general the Oracle database is case insensitive and translates all object names to upper case and the select it will pass to the foreign database would be similar to:
select CODCEN from CENTROS => which will fail as FoxPro is case sensitive. So the error message ORA-00904 (missing column name) is correct and the statement you need to use is:
select "codcen" from centros@fox1;
But this might lead again to the Syntax error you got earlier => You need to check which sign (single quote, back tick, double quote) Foxpro uses to quote object names and then set the gateway parameter HS_FDS_QUOTE_IDENTIFIER accordingly.
To check which character can be used to quote column/table names you might use the Microsoft ODBc test utility which was distributed in the old MDAC 2.8:

Gateway for informix: Unsupported Informix Server and other errors
I set up the Database Gateway for Informix on WinXP 32 to connect from an Oracel 10gR2 Database to an Informix Database (Infomix Online Dynamic Server V7.31UP1).
The basic connection seems to work (giving a wrong password in the database link results in an appropriate error message), but the test-statement "select * from DUAL@DLTEST" (and any other select) results in the following error message:

What's going wrong ?
Regards KlausHello,
I downloaded the gateway package of Oracle version 11.1.0.6.0, and installed Informix gateway driver. I made the necessary settings, and i have exactly the same problem, as described above.
I receive error message "OracleODBC Informix Wire Protocol driverUnsupported Informix Server version.OracleODBC Informix Wire Protocol driverInvalid attribute in connection string: ArraySize.OracleODBC Informix Wire Protocol driverInvalid attribute in connection string: TruncateOversizedColumnValues." when trying to set up a connection from Oracle to Informix 7.3. I read here, that there is a patch of Informix gateway: fix 6799360, which is unfortunately not available for for download for Windows XP. I cannot search MetaLink for this problem, because I just would like to test this Oracle feature, I did not buy Oracle license.
Does anybody know about this patch? Can anybody help how could I make working this Informix gateway?
Thanks for help, Gyula -
Groupwise 7 Gateway for Exchange
I am testing the Novell Groupwise Gateway for Exchange SP2. I have already tested the API Gateway but wanted to try the newer version because it will be supported for awhile. I downloaded the install and went through all the instructions. I am using Groupwise 7.0.1 and Exchange 2003. The install went fine and the configurations are correct but I must be missing something. When I go to start the Gateway Application it starts then stops. I checked on the GW MTA and it says the link is Closed. The reason the link it closed it says can't create directories. I checked the Gateway application and it shows Groupwise link closed and other link Open. I logged into a ws as the same user to check the rights and I was able to create a new directory in the domain directory. I changed the logging to verbose on the Exchange Gateway to see if I can see an error and it says trying to re-establish GW link.

Oracle gateway for Oracle 10g DB on Windows 64 bit server
Is there any place that I can find Oracle dateway for Oracle 10g DB on Windows 64 bit server? I can only find Gateway for Oracle 11g on Windows 32 bit server. Please help me to identify this. Thanks.
yingkuan:
Thanks a lot. The link tells the details. It seems that Oracle has not release Gateway for Oracle database 10.2.0.x on Windows 64 bit server. Probably they don't do it.
So under this circumstance, if I want to install Gateway (32 bit) on Oracle 10.2.0.3 DB on Windows 64 bit server for Teradata, I probably have to install Gateway software in another Oracle Home, then configure it right. Please give more advice on this. 32 bit Gateway will work for 64 bit database? -
Problem with "Database Gateway for SQL Server"
Hello,
i am testing the different technologies for connecting an oracle database with a sql-server database.
The way using 10g-generic-connectivity with ODBC works fine, but the 11g-DG4MSQL makes problems.
Environment:
Server PEGASUS (32bit Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2) with Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.4.0
Server OBELIXUS (32bit Windows 2000 Sp4) with MS-SQL-Server 2005
On PEGASUS i have installed the gateway in a new oracle home directory:
"D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1" => home directory of 10g
"D:\oracle\product\11.1.0\tg_1\" => home directory of the gateway

How mentioned above, the access from oracle to sqlserver using MSSQL(10g hsodbc.exe) works fine.
But when trying to acces the sqlserver using MSSQLDG (11g dg4msql.exe) I get the following error:

In the LISTENER.ORA from 10g, you must only refer to the database and hsodbc 10g
D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\NETWORK\ADMIN\listener.ora:
SID_LIST_LISTENER =
(SID_LIST =
(SID_DESC =
(SID_NAME = PLSExtProc)
(ORACLE_HOME = D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1)
(PROGRAM = extproc)
(SID_DESC =
(GLOBAL_DBNAME = INTEGRAT)
(ORACLE_HOME = D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1)
(SID_NAME = INTEGRAT)
(SID_DESC =
(SID_NAME = MSSQLTEST)
(PROGRAM = D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\bin\hsodbc)
(ORACLE_HOME = D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1)
LISTENER =
(DESCRIPTION_LIST =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC1))
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = pegasus.cursor.de)(PORT = 1521))
===========================================================
Then you have to create a new listener (new name) in the gateway oracle_home on a different port than instance database:
D:\oracle\product\11.1.0\tg_1\network\admin\listener.ora
SID_LIST_LISTENERGTW =
(SID_LIST =
(SID_DESC=
(SID_NAME=DG4MSQL)
(ORACLE_HOME=D:\oracle\product\11.1.0\tg_1)
(PROGRAM=D:\oracle\product\11.1.0\tg_1\BIN\dg4msql)
LISTENERGTW=
(DESCRIPTION_LIST =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = pegasus.cursor.de)(PORT = 1522))
To start it, use the command below:
D:\oracle\product\11.1.0\tg_1\bin\LSNRCTL start listenergtw
===========================================================
D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\NETWORK\ADMIN\tnsnames.ora:
match the DG4MSQL with the listener on 1522 port
HSODBC match with binary10g on listener 1521 port
MSSQLDG =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = PEGASUS)(PORT = 1522))
(CONNECT_DATA =(SERVICE_NAME = DG4MSQL))
(HS = OK)
MSSQL =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = PEGASUS)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA =(SERVICE_NAME = MSSQLTEST))
(HS = OK)
Try to configure and let me know your feedback

Oracle 9i on LINUX Transparent Gateway for SQL Server
Does anybody know if there is a Transparent Gateway available for Oracle 9i on LINUX to connect to SQL Server? I have run the installer and cannot seem to find the install options for any Transparent Gateways. I am familiar with their location in the universal installer as I have installed the Oracle/SQL Server Transparent Gateway with Oracle in WinNT. Perhaps Transparent Gateways for Oracle/LINUX are not available?
Thanks in advance.I have the same issue - we want to upgrade our 9.2 to 10g Linux, and need to maintain connectivity to some legacy sqlserver databases. I can't find any mention of tg4msql for linux. What gives? Anyone know the answer to this? thanks, michael

SharePoint 2013 and SAP connectivity / SAP Gateway for Microsoft and Duet Enterprise 2.0
Hello,
we are investigating the connection possibilities of SharePoint 2013 with SAP.
The basic scenario in our cases involves the transfer of documents and/or metadata from SharePoint to SAP possibly through a Workflow in SharePoint.
From my research the most promising official (no 3d-party) interfaces that can be used are the Duet Enterprise 2.0 and the SAP Gateway for Microsoft.
From my understanding both interfaces allow only the consumption of Data from SAP to SharePoint and not vice versa. Moreover the interoperability of documents seems not be supported. Are CRUD operations from a SharePoint native lists to SAP supported?
Can someone please clarify this topics?
I have found lots of documentation concerning the interfaces but not a clear answer to this questions.
Many thanks in advance!
IoannisHi Ioannis,
It seems that there is no built in method to get data from SharePoint list in SAP.
As a workaround, we can export SharePoint list to excel and then use that spread sheet as a source data in SAP.

http://scn.sap.com/thread/3472110
As this issue is regarding to SAP, I recommend you to ask the question in the SAP:
http://scn.sap.com/welcome.
More experts will assist you, then you will get more information relation to SAP.
Thanks,
Victoria

Third Party Payment Gateway for Physical Services
I am very curious to learn on the validity of Integrating a Third Party Payment Gateway for offering the Physical services to the app users.
One of my clients need to integrate a Payment Gateway for the User registration where the User's will be offered to play a physical shooting game upon registration with the app. What is the likelihood of the app rejection in this kind of scenario ?Hi Ahmed,
I don't understand what exactly you need to do on your CSS because, from what you explained, the original URL and the second one are the same, and both requests are even done using SSL.
Can you be more specific on what are your requirements?
