Cisco IP Multiservice Gateway, SIP

Has anyone used the Cisco IP to IP Multiservice Gateway as a SIP Session Border Controller

The Cisco Multiservice IP-to-IP Gateway facilitates simple and cost-effective connectivity between independent Voice over IP and video networks. Designed to meet enterprise and service-provider Session Border Controller (SBC) needs, the Cisco Multiservice IP-to-IP Gateway is an integrated Cisco IOS Software application .

  • Cisco 2911 Voice Gateway SIP PSTN Calls Fail

    Hello All,
I am having trouble with outboud SIP PSTN calls through a Cisco 2911 Voice Gateway.  2911 VG terminates PSTN SIP Traffic and connects to Avaya CS1000M via QSIG PRI Trunks. When calls are attempted outbound fron the PBX the caller gets a fast busy.  Debug ISDN q931 shows the call hitting the 2911 properly, debug voip ccapi inout shows the call matching the correct dial peers and debug ccsip shows the invite to the PSTN Provider SBC, however within the invite the "from" address incorrectly shows the calling number with the provider SBC address (see below).  does anyone have any insight on how to correct this?  Attached are VG config and Debug isdn q931, voip ccapi inout, ccsip messages and ccsip call.  Thanks in advance for any help!!

  • Cisco IP-IP Gateway for Videoconferencing

Does anyone have any experience of using the Cisco IP-IP Gateway in a video conferencing context? Are there any limitations to be aware of, as compared to the IOS MCM Proxy?

The Cisco Multiservice IP-to-IP Gateway facilitates simple and cost-effective connectivity between independent Voice over IP and video networks. Designed to meet enterprise and service-provider Session Border Controller (SBC) needs, the Cisco Multiservice IP-to-IP Gateway is an integrated Cisco IOS Software application .

Is it possible to disable SDP in 200 OK message going out to ITSP. They said that their PBX can't recognize 200 ok with SDP as reply to sip Options message.

    Oleh,
I am not sure you can do this..
    RFC3261 states the following:
The SIP method OPTIONS allows a UA to query another UA or a proxy
server as to its capabilities.  This allows a client to discover
information about the supported methods, content types, extensions,
codecs, etc. without "ringing" the other party.  For example, before
a client inserts a Require header field into an INVITE listing an
option that it is not certain the destination UAS supports, the
client can query the destination UAS with an OPTIONS to see if this
option is returned in a Supported header field.  All UAs MUST support
       the OPTIONS method.
If the response to an OPTIONS is generated by a proxy server, the
proxy returns a 200 (OK), listing the capabilities of the server.
The response does not contain a message body.
So it looks like your ITSP hasn't designed their system based on this RFC. When you send an OPTIONs message, the response has to include the capabilities the other party can support..

  • Connect Cisco CallManager to external SIP provider

I need to connect my CUCM 5.1 with sip proxy on telco side.IP phones
    will connect to CUCM.
The SIP server provide 90 lines with real numbers
    Following is the scenario.
    Cisco IP phones----------CUCM-------WAN connection to

Can anybody explain me how this will work, what will be the
configurations and if CUCM has the capability to control the calls
between IP phones and SIP server.

    Hi Asim
It is recommended to use CUBE (IP-IP gateway)
    Look following url for configuration.

  • CUCM route calls diferents gateways/sip trunks

Hi at all, I have CUCM 6.1.1 and I want to route calls throughs diferents gateways or sip trunks.
I planned to do with route groups, but I can not add on a route group a H323 gateway and a SIP trunk at the same time.
How can route calls in different ways?
In the CUCM page "Route patterns" I want to make alternative routes, for example, the number 6666 is on route "666X" through a "gateway/route list", but if I can not contact by going this route I need to go through the alternative route "XXXX" through another "gateway/route list".
How can I make by going first to one pattern and then the other pattern?
    Thanks!
    Fran

Ok thanks but one question more.... if I have a MGCP Gateway? Can I do this from my MGCP Gateway? or I need an H323 Gateway.
And another possibility.... I dont know if it's right....
Can I do this with Partitions and CSS?
    This is for example I 'll have a CSS "Global" with Partitions (Primary and Secondary);
It could go the route first to 666x Gateway with CSS "Global" and partitions (Primary and Secondary). This way I do not know if it is routed first through the Gateway of the partition as Primary and Secondary alternative partition that is served by the SIP Trunk.
Using the "Dial Number Analyzer" I get the second path XXXX (SIP Trunk) as an alternative route ...

  • Cisco Prime Collaboration and SIP Codes

I am trying to position Cisco Prime Collaboration with a Cisco CUBE router and the client wants to know if Prime will be able to do the following:
    1) Scan, index and alert on configurable SIP 4xx, 5xx, 6xx
    2) Look at acive inbound/outbound calls

    Hello Varda,
It seems as the 1040 sensors are not finding the TFTP server. The TFTP server list should not contain the ipaddress with values 32 or 92 in their octets,
    1. The 1040 needs to learn of the TFTP by DHCP option 150.
    2. Please make sure that it is set on your DHCP server.
    3. To confirm that the 1040 sensor is receiving the TFTP IP open a web browser and type http://  and see if the TFTP address field is showing the IP.
    4. If it is then you might also need to restart the TFTP service on the CUCM so that the 1040 can download the cnf and image files.
Attached is the userguide for 1040. Go through it and this should be able to resolve your issue.
This is a other  method to check the  sensor  is fine
Fist step install  download winagents tftp server ,
enter a Service Monitor Server   Configuration / sensor1040 and in TFTP server  enter    ip address(winagents tftpserver) and go to SETUP
in setup   put you ip address in PRIMARY SERVICE MONITOR  and push OK   you look the server write file in (TFTP server )
    Next STEP
Go to MANAGEMENT   and  add new sensor you need mac address remember second port in sensor is span port you can make a sencond file in the tftp server
    Next STEP
go to service monitor server and copy  file *.img CSCOpx/
    Next STEP
Search  you dhcp server switch     option 150 in put your ip address tftp server when sensor power off  and power on the sensor search tftp server and search files to autoconfig and register to service monitor when test is ok
its time to upload change winagent tftp server to  callmanager tftp server
    Hope this helps
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Cisco 2851 with multiple SIP registrars

I'm trying to setup up my 2851 to register with two registrars (sipgate.co.uk and voiptalk.org).
Looking at "show sip-ua register status" it seems that I have successfully registered, but oddly it is trying to use the authentication of each other on both:
    router1#show sip-ua register status
    --------------------- Registrar-Index  1 ---------------------
    Line                             peer       expires(sec) registered P-Associ-URI
    ================================ ========== ============ ========== ============
    100XXXX                          -1         465          yes
    8449XXXX                         -1         165          no
    --------------------- Registrar-Index  2 ---------------------
    Line                             peer       expires(sec) registered P-Associ-URI
    ================================ ========== ============ ========== ============
    100XXXX                          -1         165          no
    8449XXXX                         -1         2865         yes
So it looks like it's trying to register using 100XXXX and 8449XXXX with both registrars, which is wrong.
    I confirmed this using tcpdump.
I've been using this page to help configure the sip trunks: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios/voice/sip/configuration/guide/15_1/sip_15_1_book/sip_cg-multi-registrars.html
I have this as my sip-ua config:
    sip-ua
    credentials number 100XXXX username 100XXXX password 7 PASSWORD1 realm sipgate.co.uk
    credentials number 8449XXXX username 8449XXXX password 7 PASSWORD2 realm voiptalk.org
    nat symmetric role active
    nat symmetric check-media-src
    no remote-party-id
    retry invite 2
    retry register 10
    timers connect 100
    registrar 1 dns:sipgate.co.uk expires 3600
    registrar 2 dns:voiptalk.org expires 3600
    connection-reuse
    host-registrar
    protocol mode dual-stack preference ipv6
Am I missing something obvious? :/ What could I be doing wrong?

  • Cisco Unity Connection - Miu SIP Integration, All lines are busy

    Hi,
We have a CUCM/CUC Cluster since 2009 and we never had problems with accessing Voicemail. We configured a Secure Siptrunk between the CUCM Cluster and the CUC-Server.
    CUCM 8.5.1SU4/CUC8.5.1SU1
2 weeks ago we upgraded CUC from 8.5.1SU1 to 8.5.1SU5
Since this upgrade we had at 2 times no voicemail access from the IP-Phones registered on CUCM-Cluster (reorder tone) - in the log of CUC we saw that  all 144 ports become busy !!
    History:
Update CUC from 8.5.1SU1 to 8.5.1SU5 on Saturday 10/26
    - first outage on wed. 10/31 ; 1:48 pm
    - second outage on tue 11/6  10:26 am
After restart of the  CUC-Server  the system works normally - I think stopping and starting Connection Manager coiuld also be a workaround, but i did not verified this :

    Question:
do we have a  bug in the software CUC 8.5.1SU5 or is there another problem ?
    Any Ideas ?
    regards
    alex

    Hi,
we opened a tac case and it seems we run into a bug which is known in Version 8.6. (We run 8.5.1SU5)
    http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCuc22800
Cisco already have the fix available for version 8.6.2 ES52.
Cause we can not upgrade to 8.6 (Server Hardware not supported) we will wait for the Version 8.5 Fix.
Meanwhile I will change the SIP-Trunk between the Unity Connection Server and the Call Manager Server from TLS to non-TLS (described in CSCuc22800 as a workaround)
    regards

Please help me... I don't know what to do!

You need to contact service provider for this , after authentication challenge your sip provider is not sending any response.
Contact them and ask whether they had received INVITE with proxy authentication details or not.

  • Cisco VG202 voice gateway implementations

I have used the Cisco VG202 to replace Multitech units at some of my remote locations.
The phone systems at the remote locations are Avaya Partner systems.
What i encounter, after placing the Cisco units, is that the time displayed on the Avaya phones goes wrong.   Even if you manually correct it, time will go off within a couple hours.
Has ANYONE come across this?   TIme on the Avaya Partner system is adversely affected with the introduction of the Cisco VG202.

    Hi Peter,
This forum is for discussions about specific known bugs. You might find better discussion in the IP Telephony forum: https://supportforums.cisco.com/community/netpro/collaboration-voice-video/ip-telephony
Conceptually as an analog voice gateway the VG shouldn't generally provide any time information to an attached phone system. Is it possible the phone system is pointed to the VG as an NTP reference? In that situation the internal platform clock isn't terribly reliable and synch to an more reliable external NTP reference is recommended.  The only other possibility that comes to mind is delivery of a timestamp information along with callerid over the analog voice ports. In that situation the router again depends on internal clock. Configuring an NTP reference on the router will help to keep the router clock better synchronized.  These are all a bit of a stretch. The most likely, IMHO, is the pone system pointing to VG202 as NTP reference. In that case giving the VG202 a reliable NTP reference so the router can keep more accurate time would be my first approach.
    Hope this helps,
    Wes

  • Cisco 2801 (Voice Gateway + CUE)

    Hi there,
    I got two questions:
    1) When I try to login to Cisco 2801 I get the following lines: (I've already changed the default username and password!)
Cisco Router and Security Device Manager (SDM) is installed on this device.
This feature requires the one-time use of the username "cisco"
with the password "cisco". The default username and password have a privilege level of 15.
Please change these publicly known initial credentials using SDM or the IOS CLI.
Here are the Cisco IOS commands.
    username <myuser> privilege 15 secret 0 <mypassword>
    no username cisco
Replace <myuser> and <mypassword> with the username and password you want to use.
For more information about SDM please follow the instructions in the QUICK START
GUIDE for your router or go to http://www.cisco.com/go/sdm
    2) Is there any configuration example to configure CUE on Cisco 2801 (AIM Module)?
    Thanks.

    Hi there,
    1. The lines you reference are the default message of the day banner on the ISR routers. To remove the message, go into configuration mode and enter the command "no banner motd"
    2. Here's a sample configuration of configuring CME and CUE. The sample configuration should work on your 2801 ISR router. Feel free to give it a try and post here is you run into any issues or need clarification on anything.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps5520/products_configuration_example09186a008037f2a9.shtml
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Michael.
