  • IOS8 is too slow on iPad3! Can I restore to my 7.1.2 backup without resetting to factory defaults?

IOS8 is too slow on iPad3! Can I restore to my 7.1.2 backup without having to reset to factory defaults? I have both iCloud and iTunes backups....

    No.
Apple has no support or provision for reverting to a previous iOS version.
Try a reset of your iPad by holding down the power button and hone button simultaneously until your iPad screen goes black and the Apple Logo reappears on screen, then let go of the buttons.

  • Satellite L300-20D - Reset to factory default - How?

    Hi,
My Laptop is Kind Of Messed Up At The Minute And I Am Looking To Reset To Factory Defaults.
Can Anyone Tell Me How To Do This?
    Thanks.

    Hey,
The exact procedure for HDD recovery is described here:
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm
But therefore the original OS from Toshiba (Vista) must be installed. If you have installed another OS you have to use the Toshiba recovery disk that you created.
The installation from Toshiba recovery disk you can start if you boot from CD/DVD drive. Then follow the screen instructions to install Windows.
Its very easy because all drivers and tools will be installed automatically.
Please send some feedback if it worked or not. ;)

  • E3000 needs to be restarted regularly, sometimes resets to factory default

My E3000 needs to be restarted at least once a week. Pings to the router will slowly lag over time and reach 700+ after several days from my wired desktop. Sometimes during the restart the router will also reset to factory default settings.
So far I've installed the 1.0.02 (build 4) firmware and done the restart while holding the button. The new firmware has greatly improved my wireless performance but I have no idea what to do next.

Follow the below mentioned settings and then check.
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter. Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case. Click on the Wireless tab > Click on Advanced Wireless Settings Change the Beacon Interval to 75,Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304,Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 and Click on Save Settings.

My airport extreme (generation 5) was set up using wifi and has worked flawlessly (on macbook pro 2 iphones and window 7 HP pc)until recently. I have reset to factory defaults over and over but still cannot get on the internet. However I can then take my DSL cord and insert it in a different Ethernet port other than the WAN port and I can get internet on my Mac and iphones but only wifi on my husband's PC.  I hate to spend another $179 if this is just something I'm doing wrong. Please help

I'm having a bit of trouble confirming that the ZyXEL is a combination modem & wireless-N router. If it is, then you really won't get any advantages of using the 802.11g AirPort.
If the range of your ZyXEL is limited, you may find that doing either or both of the following will help: 1) Move the ZyXEL so that it is higher vs. lower in the room, that is away from any closed areas or placed in a metal cabinet, and 2) Changing radio channels. The latter is especially important in you live in an area where there are a number of competing Wi-Fi.
A good utility to find out, is iStumbler. You would use this to find these other Wi-Fi and find which have the strongest signal value. Those that do, you would also want to note which channel they are operating on, and then, change yours to one that is at least 3-5 channels away. So, for example, if you find strong ones on channels 1 & 6, change yours to 11.

  • I have disabled ipod touch.. how can i unlock without resetting to factory default?

i have a disabled ipod touch. how can i unlock with password without resetting to factory default?

You can rstore from backup but you must restore the iPod
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • RVS4000 resets to factory defaults

I just installed a new RVS4000 router (firmware V1.3.0.5), configured it to my LAN, saved the setting and created a configuration backup. 4 times now in less than a week I lost access to the internet only to find the router reset to factory defaults.
I can restore from the backup, but a day or 2 later and it resets again.
Any suggestions - or do you think it's a hardware problem and I should return it for replacement?

Please give this a try. First you need to upgrade to the latest firmware version(1.3.2.0). After upgrading to the latest version of the software the next step is to reset the device back to factory defaults. Then after the reset to factory, load the device manually. Next step after loading manually is to save your config file. This should take care of the reset back to factory default issue. If this does not take care of the problem please call into the support center. The number to call is 1-866-606-1866. Also please if you have to call in let the support center engineer know the steps you have already taken.
    Thanks

  • Why WRT610N Automatically Reset to Factory Defaults?

I have been using the WRT610 for few months, this router and others such as NAS, W1Max Modem, Switches power source connecto thru Belkin Power Surge Proctector.  This few months I found many times the router automatically reset to factory defaults after power down and up.  I have long history with Linksys products and this is the first ever router that automatic reset itself to factory defaults and I can find out why.
For quick power on off I always power down the entire power source at Belkin on/off switch and always wait at least more than 5 seconds, but many times after the power on/off I found cannot connect to the router and all I found are the router reset to factory defaults, any one can explain why and how?

I have finally got the time to upgrade the firmware and it turn out to be the same version as my router existing firmware.  The reason I did that because the router reset itself to faultry setting again.  Wonder anyone has such experience as mine?  I roughly recorded it almost once per month the router reset by itself.

  • I have a cp1215 has started to be extra slow have reset to factory defaults and reinstalled driver

I have a cp1215 has started to be extra slow have reset to factory defaults and reinstalled driver on the computer etc....
I think where it is taking the most time is in the deleting from the print queue.  I have an HP desktop computer with 3gb ram on windows xp. even if all I am doing is printing a test page with no other programs started it takes for ever to print a page.
    any help would be appreciated

    Hi Mikeryan,
Have you tried turning off bidirectional communication?
Open your printers and faxes folder, right click the icon for your printer, and choose printer properties.
Go to the ports tab, and un-check "Enable Bidirectional Communication".
Restart your computer, and try printing to see if the issue has been resolved.
    Hope this helps

  • WRT160Nv3 has resetted to factory defaults himself

Hello, today I got up and discovered that my WRT160Nv3 router has resetted to factory defaults himself, the name of the Wifi network was "linksys" and all configurations were the defaults...
That's normal? This is the first time it happens.

I've never had that happen....and I don't think it's normal. Make sure you're using WPA or WPA2 wireless security and don't use "admin" for your router password. Also make sure your router is not over heating and is well ventilated....at least 2 feet away from other electronic devices.
Search the forum/board as I'm sure other people have had it happen.

  • Cisco PIX-515e reset to factory defaults

    Hi,
I have a cisco PIX-515e which i have connected to a emulator through the console port, and im having trouble erasing data from it.
I can get into 'pixfirewall' mode and 'monitor' mode but thats as far as i get. i have tried 'write erase' and 'configure factory-default' in both modes to no success.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    thanks,

this is a little late over a year, you probably alreay figured it out. in monitor mode.
    set your interface
monitor> int 0          (this doesnt matter much as long as the interface is valid)
next set the ip address of our pix
monitor> add 192.168.1.50     (this just sets the pix int 0 to this ip address)
    now set the tftp server
monitor> server 192.168.1.79     (this is the ip address of my pc with a tftp server)
    set the gateway
monitor> gateway 0.0.0.0      (i had much trouble with this but until i set the gateway to this it didnt work)
now back to your pc assuming you have a tftp server installed.
download the necessary recover tool at (subject to change probably) make sure you put it in your default directory of your tftp server.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/vpndevc/ps2030/products_password_recovery09186a008009478b.shtml
    this is key probably
if you have the wrong tool the image will download successfully to your pix but it will not do anything just stop
after the file has been received.
so if your unsure try all the images.
    now back to the pix
to initiate a file download you have to declare it so
    monitor> file np62.bin
and then to start the download
    monitor> tftp
see below.... (entire session via console cable)
    monitor> int 0
    0: i8255X @ PCI(bus:0 dev:14 irq:10)
    1: i8255X @ PCI(bus:0 dev:13 irq:11)
    Using 0: i82557 @ PCI(bus:0 dev:14 irq:10), MAC:
    monitor> add 192.168.1.50
    address 192.168.1.50
    monitor> server 192.168.1.79
    server 192.168.1.79
    monitor> gateway 0.0.0.0
    gateway 0.0.0.0
    monitor> file np62.bin
    file np62.bin
    monitor> tftp
    tftp [email protected].....................................................
