Cisco ISE 1.1.1.268 Giving error (Report Generation failed. Cause: Null)

I have this issue and I would be very thankful if someone has the answer for this. When I am trying to access Operation > Report > Catalog > Posture > Posture Detail Assessment & clicking on any posture session detail icon. I am getting following attached errors.
1. Report Generation failed. Cause: Null
2. Cannot execute the statement.
Does anyone knows how to get rid of this error & to get access of posture detail.

The error message means that Active Directory server Reject the authentication attempt
as for some reasons the user account got locked.I guess, You should ask your AD Team to check in the AD
Event Logs why did the user account got locked.
Under Even Viewers, You can find it out

I just received instructions from the TMG software company to uninstall and install the PDF driver they use. This fixed the problem. Apparently upgrading to v7.01 damages the driver but reinstalling it corrects the problem.

you could create an ISE local user with a GUEST membership and provided you have your ISE password policy set so that it doesn't expire accounts, etc it would be a "permanent" guest account. we do something similiar. sponsors make temporary accounts while long-term or test guest accounts are created in the ise local identity store as guests and are processed the same way. you just have to ensure that the internal user store is part of your guest identity source sequence.

Hm, it looks like the file might be open in another application. If you see that file accesss is intermittently denied, you should try disabling the Microsoft FindFast utility.

How do I manually submit an error report when I receive a message, 'submission failed' after choosing automated error reporting?

Since Leopard is now out of production there will be no future updates so there is no point in filing an error report.

Cisco ISE 1.1.1.268 patch 4 (Authorization polices for company asset & non company asset)

Is there any way to differentiate company asset & non company asset machines as both use same AD credentials but only difference is company asset is domain joined machines & non company asset only use AD credentials.
We want to create different authorization polices for company & non company asset machines. What condition I can use under authentication & authorization which help us to differentiate them except certificate.
We want to do posture assetment for them as well.

Hello Tabish-
There are several ways you can do that. The easiest way (In my opinion) is to use PEAP machine based authentication for your domain computers while using PEAP user based authentication for non domain computers. Based on that a different authorization profile will be applied to the supplicant. For example, you can have a rule where if a computer is part of domain computers then it gets an throziation profile called Full_Access but if a domain user then apply authorization profile called Limited_Access. An important part of this solution is for your AD to be locked down where only certain users/admin's can add computers to the domain. Otherwise, by default, any domain users can add a computer to a domain. Putting some posture checks in between those would also not be a problem.
Some other methods are to use EAP-TLS with digital certificates but this requires that you have a PKI in place and every single domain computer is issued a digital certificate.
Some more advanced methods are EAP-Chaining where you can perform both machine and user authentication.

Itunes and quicktime both fail to launch, giving error reports

Getting a little ticked because ive been trying to get itunes to properly work.
To clarafy, i've done the following to try and fix this problem
Uninstalled itunes and quick time
Re-installed
Uninstalling just quick time and it almost loaded until it gave me the audio codec issue(i know i need quicktime for itunes to even work)
I've installed older versions of itunes (same issue)
I've tried loading up itunes on a different user account
Now i don't know what left to do (besides trying the msconfig, im in the process of doing that right now)
I need help guys
I'm really close to just taking back the ipod nano and getting something more windows compatable

Have you ever installed any of the following:
ACE & K-Lite mega codecs package, QT alternative, Storm codec, WinAVI video converter.
They are known to cause crashes with Quicktime. If you have one of them, you need to uninstall it.
You can get a clue to the presence of a problem codec by trying to run QUicktime preferences from the control panel. If you get an error message like this:
"An exception occurred while trying to run "C:\Windows\system32\shell32.dll,Control_runDLL "C:\Windows\system32\QuickTime.cpl"
You could have a problem codec, QUicktime does not install Quicktime.cpl in the system32 folder.
Then try the following method for removal of iTunes and associated components and Installer cleanup:
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime

Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program

we've just installed oracle9ias on a linux machine (after no end of troubles!) and tried some various things. everything appears to be working except for the request manager and parm.jsp.

I am working in migrating my cr application to 10th ver from the existing 8.5 where we have to explicitly make a query in query builder and then attach it. I was using dsn in ms odbc for oracle driver to connect the DB. Now in 10.0 i have removed the query file created using 8.5 query builder and trying to write directly to command editor. the report as stand alone is working fine. but when i try to generate the pdf using my vb application then on .export option it is giving error as "Logon failed.
Details: 01S00:[Microsoft][ODBC driver for Oracle]Invalid connection string attribute". i think the problem might be with cddb_oracle.dll or crdb_oracle.dll file as i am using a evaluation version of crystal report 10. as input to dsn i am providing

Well, you can migrate, you can not upgrade (semantics I suppose). E.g.; the RDC was deprecated in CR XI r1 and retired in CR 2008. Thus there is no way for you to upgrade to version 12 of the RDC as there is no such thing. So, from here, you have two options: migrate / port the app to .NET, or Java SDKs.

ISE CSR Generation failed

Hi,
I'm trying to generate a CSR on my ISE 1.1.1.268 ,I'm always getting this error "CSR generation failed: Invalid certificate subject DN length "
I followed cisco guide , and I used the ISE FQDN for the CN , but CSR generation is still failing ..
My ISE FQDN is : kam-ise-01.kamcorp.kam.com
here is the certificate subject i have used :
CN=kam-ise-01.kamcorp.kam.com, OU=IT, O=KAM, C=US, S=CA, L=NY
Any help please ..

I corrected the format. I think you were using only S. however the user guide says ST for state.

We have a known bug on this as well where ISE should throw a more meaningful error and say what was wrong
CSCuj28351 ISE complains about DN length when the problem is the format
Symptom:
ISE throws "CSR generation failed" with "Invalid certificate subject DN length" when you create a CSR on ISE
Conditions:
It happens not necessarily when the whole subject is too long but if the format is wrong also
For example if you enter "C=Belgium" instead of "C=BE", you will get this error.
State and country are 2 certificates field that requires code letters and not full name.
Workaround:
Correct your fields to match the right X509 format

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see you would like to turn off the Fax error reports on your HP Laserjet 200 Color MFP M276nw.
From the front panel of your LJ, please follow the path below:
Setup Menu > Fax Setup > Advance Setup > Allow Fax Reports > NO or Off
You should not receive anymore fax error reports.

1. CORBA
-requestTimeout
This is the default CORBA timeout which can be set on any BOE services through command lines in CCM. And this switch is in millisecond.
Registry CORBA Timeout
This is a default hard coded 10 mins timeout for CORBA. WebI and DeskI did get integrated into this regkey:
(1) Go to HEKY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Business Objects -> Suite 11.5 -> CER.
(2) Modify ConnectionTomeout from 600000 to higher value.
(3) Restart all services in CCM.
2. Infoview Java Application (For example, Tomcat) Session Timeout If a user idles in Infoview for longer than this timeout, the session will be killed automatically. The default session timeout is 20 mins. To change the default session time out for InfoView:
(1) Go to u201Cu2026\Tomcat\webapps\businessobjects\enterprise115\desktoplaunch\WEB-INF\web.xmlu201D

If you meet their sessions are not getting released when they log out, here are two things to check in web.xml:
(1) If the below configuration was set by true, that means they will have another session allocated to them once they begin to move around in Infoview after the user times out. If it was
set by false, the user have to re-logon after they times out.

(2) All sessions will be cleanup after they times out if uncommented the below configuration. If you are having issues with sessions staying in CMS, try to uncomment the below line and
restart tomcat.

3. Tomcat
ConnectionTimeout
The default value is 20000 milliseconds. To disable it, try to set the value to -1 as below:
(1) Go to u201Cu2026\Tomcat\conf\server.xmlu201D.
(2) Find line u201CConnector on port 8080u201D.
(3) Modify connectiontomeout = u201C20000u201D to ConnectionTimeout = u201C-1u201D.
4. Universes
Execution Timeout
(1) Go to Universe Designer -> File -> Parameters -> Controls.
(2) Check the value of u201CLimit execution time tou201D.
5. WebI
Connection Timeout
The number of minutes before an idle connection to the WebI Report Server will be closed. When Java Report Panel, it is now controlled by this timeout switch:
(1) Log into CMC
(2) Go to Servers -> WebI Report Server
(3) Set Connection Timeout
WebI Report Timeout
WebI designers have the ability to set a limit on how long a query can be run on a database before the query is stopped:
(1) Edit/Create a new WebI report using Java Report Panel.
(2) Choose Edit Query -> Properties.
(3) Now deselect/increase the "max retrieval time" value.
Swap Timeout
In Java Report Panel and you leave it idle for more than 5 minutes (Default), you will notice that you will no longer be able to save your WebI report into CMS or your report will take longer
to generate. This is because SwapTimeOut setting which controls the flushing interval of WebI temp files:
(1) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\default\WebIntelligence\Server\Admin\SwapTimeOut

Another kind of error, upgrading Cisco ISE 1.1.4patch3 to 1.2

I'm failing to upgrade our distributed ISE environment of 3 nodes.
Using ise-upgradebundle-1.1.x-to-1.2.0.899.i386.gz, MD5 sum is verified.
All nodes are running 1.1.4 patch 3 and the cluster is in sync.
Trying to upgrade secondary admin node first and get this error:

Pages in Cisco ISE 1.2 says Error code WAP00008.

When i am trying to access Cisco ISE
Pages Policy>Policy Elements>Dictonaries
i get the following error on firefox(MAC)
There was an error while parsing and rendering the content. (node.getAttribute is not a function)
Error code WAP00008.
Error on Chrome(MAC)
There was an error while parsing and rendering the content. (Object # has no method 'getAttribute')
Error code WAP00008.
it works fine on IE(windows) and firefox
but gives the same error on Chrome,
Any one else facing the same issue ?

This now seems to be across Firefox and Chrome on both Mac and Windows OS systems.. Cisco need to make sure there products can work with the updated browsers as customers cannot be expecetd to always roll back a browser version to fix a problem..... Does anyone know what the root cause might be for this issue ? Java plugins ? so customers can get a solution to allow administration of ISE across OS platforms and Browsers...
