CISCO ISE 1.2.0.899 - Self registration email address field Limit

Hi
I was wondering if someone out there can resolve an issue I am seeing, when a user goes to the self registration portal and enters an email address it only allows 24 characters to be entered, in the documentation it states that up to 48 characters can be entered. Is there a setting that i need to change to increase the character limit to above 24.
Thanks
John

Hi Anas
That is not true, I had the same problem with ISE in our Network.
We are running 1.2.0.899, after all the troubleshooting I decided to upgrade the Patch on the ISE.
As part of that I have deployed patch 5, which has resolved the issue.
So please just download patch 5 for the solution.

  • Self registration email from wrong Company Administrator

    Hi,
Self-registering users for a specific company (ie. Company1) receive 1st email confirmation re. successful registration from a foreign company admin (ie. Company2).  This is very bad!  This issue was not present in either our DEV or QAS environments. While troubleshooting we have tried removing the user admin role from the foreign company admin and self-registering again.  The foreign company admin changed to be a different foreign admin, ie. Company3.
    Thank you for your help.
    Sincerely
    Sumit.

One of the latest help pages says that the selfreg performed means an email goes to the user and the admin. So, that's why the admin gets it.
I agree that the end user should also get it - this might be a bug the SP15. I assume the email address is visible in the UME after self registration? Maybe there's a race condition and because you're using LDAP the email is being sent before the email address has been stored.

  • Cisco Unity Express 8.x - sending voicemail to email address (CME+CUE)

    Hi Team,
I know might this is very common question for you all.
Can Cisco Unity Express send voicemail to an email address? If yes, any additional software license required for the same?
Could you plesae provide me the steps how to implement.
    Thanks,
    Nirmal

    Nirmal,
There is no extra license needed to support the email notification feature. There are two method available in CUE, IMAP or standard email notification.
With IMAP, the if the user deletes the email in their inbox, it will get deleted in their voicemail box. With standard email notification, no action taken by the user in with email will translate to their voicemail.
Below are the links to the admin guide mentioned by Paolo.

  • Inactive Windows 7 supplicant tries to reauthenticate every 4 to 10 minutes in Cisco ISE 1.2.1.899

    Hi,
We have a dashboard windows 7 supplicant which is being used to monitoring the network activities. There is noone working with this supplicant so it goes inactive.
What we see in our ISE log, is the supplicant trying to reauthenticate itself every 4 to 10 minutes. It goes on like this the whole day. We dont want this continous behaviour afterall.
Swith port configuration looks likt this:
    interface FastEthernet0/31
    description 802.1x Poort
    switchport access vlan xxx
    switchport mode access
    switchport nonegotiate
    switchport voice vlan xxx

    priority-queue out
    authentication control-direction in
    authentication host-mode multi-domain
    authentication order mab dot1x
    authentication priority dot1x mab
    authentication port-control auto
    authentication timer inactivity 120

    dot1x timeout quiet-period 300
    dot1x timeout tx-period 10

    storm-control multicast level 10.00
    no cdp enable
    spanning-tree portfast

    end
Has anyone got this same issue? Is this an normal behaviour of an Idle'd supplicant? or other issue around ISE/Switch? Are there any switch configuration we missing to get rid off this behaviour?
    ISE Version: 1.2.0.899
    Patch Information: 5,6,8
    Help would be much appreciated

    Hi Jan,
Thank you for your reply. Indeed those timer values were not covered in the ISE design guide. We have implemented this timer to tweak the standard design. However we have finally discovered the solution for this issue.
"authentication timer inactivity 120" was the route cause of the issue. So when a workstation goes to idle, ISE tries to re-authenticate after 2 minutes because of this switch port configuration.
We have tried to expand the timer to 3600 and it worked, issue fixed. But you will have then every one hour the same result (not a big issue).
And yes, we have deleted all those timer values to keep the configuration simple as possible. Now we don't have the issue anymore.

  • Changing Registration Email Address

    Hi All
I have just downloaded DE and started my adventure with ebooks, so excuse me if this is a total newb question. I used an adobe account to regsiter DE to my PC I wish I hadn't because I probably won't the address much long. So can I create a new account on adobe and transfer DE to that new address?
I will soon be formatting my harddrive, so if I do that and then use the new email address will I lose access to the content I have added to DE with the old one?
    Thanks
    FJ

I wonder sometimes does anyone at Adobe actually give a crap about the people who buy their products? I have sent in a contact form about this issue twice and both been ignored. I have called support and no one has picked up. I just need to know if i can change the email address on my account without losing access to the files downloaded using that account/address. But as usual with Adobe, nothing is that simple. I have stopped using ALL adobe products over time because of the way they treat their customers. And if I had an alternative to this, I'd take it, but right now I don't.

  • Why does Adobe not allow to change product registration email address?

I am unable to do so and neither is Adobe.

    Hi Pu Koh,
We do plan to have this available for Creative Cloud members but starting with the current version and only versions that were available when you subscribed.

  • Cisco ISE functionally and license

    HI.
I wanna configure the following on Cisco ISE 1.2.1.
Self-registration portal for guests (SSID: guests)
802.1x user certificate check (Cisco NAM supplicant) for employees (SSID: Corporate) (EAP-TLS)
Self provisioning portal (to deploy BYOD certificate and give access for BYOD devices) for BYOD devices (SSID: Corporate) (PEAP, MSHAPv2)
Can I configure these things with PLUS license or do I need Adv or Wireless? I am not sure if one of these requires profiling functionally.

With plus license all the above items should work.
Here is what plus license supports:
    Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
    Profiling
    Endpoint Protection Service (EPS)
    TrustSec SGT
For more info, refer ISE license section:

  • Cisco ISE - expired demo license alarm

    Hi,
We are implementing Cisco ISE 1.2.0.899 and have an alarm reporting expired license. This alarm refers to the Advanced License demo and is therefore a false positive.
This issue is that we cannot remove the demo icense and stop the root cause of this false positive alarm.
    Does anyone has an idea?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Cisco ISE: How to identify/inactive old users?

    Hello,
I want to get all users / mac-adresses which haven't connected to out network since 180 days.
    How can I query that?
The report "Dormant Users" dont seems to be the right way: it displays current associated users which are inactive...
How can I purge Cisco ISE : cleaning it from useless, old, inactive mac-addresses?
Thank you very much for any answer

The only thing I could find was purging data in the MNT node.  The default is 90 days.  This doesnt apply because the profiles are store on the policy node.  I dont think you can in an automated form.
You could change the MNT to purge after 210 days and then run a report to see which macs have not authc in the passed 180 days.  That will require excel and some scripting.

  • Cisco ISE - Not use FQDN in url-redirect parameter

    Hi,
I am using Cisco ISE Central Web Authentication for Guest Wireless. Clients are redirected for web authentication to: https://ip:port/guestportal/gateway?sessionId=SessionIdValue&action=cwa as it is specified by the url-redirect parameter in the Authorization Profile.
The “ip” field in the url is now replaced by the FQDN of the Cisco ISE, but I want to use the IP address instead of the FQDN. Is there any way to do that?
As far as I know in version 1.2 you can use the “ip host/no ip host” command to indicate what you want to use in the URL. However my Cisco ISE is running version 1.1.1.268.
    Thank you very much.
    Joana.

Available in 1.2, and available as a "bit of a bodge" in 1.1.x  (read "a lot of a bodge")
If you only have one PSN then you may be able to get it to work, but after that you lose the ability to get the session to be pointed automatically at whichever PSN they hit initially so it would break.
Copy the settings that are applied when you use CWA, then create your own based on the same settings but using the ip address pasted in there instead.

  • I want to integrate SMS gateway to Cisco ISE 1.2 and my question is SMS notifications are supported for Guest self−registration

I want to integrate SMS gateway to Cisco ISE 1.2 and my question is
SMS notifications are supported for Guest self−registration Services ? or it should be done by Sponsor

I'm not sure I understand the question.  Do you want to log in to the Sponsor Portal using AD credentials?
Create an Identity Source Sequence using AD as an Authentication Source.  Go to Administration > Identity Management > Identity Source Sequences.  Either Edit or +Add a Sequence and choose from the Authentication Sources shown.
Then choose that Identity Source Sequence by going to Administration > Web Portal Management > Settings.  Double-click Sponsor from the Left Menu and click Authentication Source.  Choose the Identity Source Sequence.  Click Save.
    I hope this helps.

  • Cisco ISE users self-registration Time Zone

    Hello, everyone!
I'm configuring ISE Guest portal and I wonder why I need to choose time zone while in self-registration? Where is it used? And how can I disable this parameter from the self-registration page?

Time profiles provide a way to give different levels of time access to different guest accounts. Sponsors must assign a time profile to a guest when creating an account, but they cannot make changes to the time profiles. However, you can customize them and specify which time profiles can be used by particular sponsor groups. Beginning with Cisco ISE 1.2 time profiles are referred to as the account duration in the Sponsor portal.
Cisco ISE 1.2 includes these default time profiles, which replace the profiles available previously:
DefaultFirstLoginEight—the account is available for 8 hours starting when the guest user first successfully connects to the Guest portal. This replaces the DefaultFirstLogin time profile.
DefaultEightHours—the account is available for 8 hours starting when sponsors first create the account. This replaces the DefaultOneHour time profile.
DefaultStartEnd—sponsors can specify dates and times on which to start and stop network access.

  • Self-Registration Portal Cisco ISE 1.3 Keeps Going Back to Auth Page

We upgraded our Cisco ISE from 1.2.x to 1.3.x.  The migration was successful, and everything appears to be correct.  I see that our customized portals were brought over as well.  We've created a new customized guest portal.  We've updated the authorization profile to reflect the new portal.  When a user goes through the process of registering, they register successfully, and then use the registration information to sign in successfully.  However, when they attempt to browse to a web page, they are redirected right back to the authentication page.  I've checked the SSID.  It's set for L2 mac-filtering, Radius NAC, and for our ISE ACL.  For the authentication security, CoA is enabled.  When the upgrade was completed, I did follow all of the post-migration tasks.  Can anyone give me any ideas why users are being redirected right back to the auth screen, once successfully authenticating, and not able to get to any internet sites?  Thanks for your help!

  • How do I skip the Device Registration Portal for Cisco ISE web portal

I have set up a sponsor and guest portal system for wireless guest access to the internet using ISE v1.2.0.899 virtual and WLC 5500 runninng 7.4. After logging into the intial page, the guest user is directed to the Device Registration Portal. Entering a MAC address value puts the user in a continuous failing loop. But, if they just hit the "continue" button at the bottom of the page, they will be directed onward and have internet access as was intended. I have no requirement for guest users to register their devices. What do I need to do to remove the device registration portal from the log on sequence for guest user access? Thanks!
