Cisco Jabber Client for Windows 9.7 Can't Connect IPSec VPN Clients over two ASAs

Environment:
2 x ASA 5540s (at two different data centers) configured as a VPN Load Balancing Cluster
Both ASAs are at version 8.4(5)6
IPSec VPN Client version: 5.0.07.440 (64-bit)
Jabber for Windows v9.7.0 build 18474
Issue:
If I am an IPSec VPN user…
I can use Jabber to another IPSec VPN user that is connected to the same ASA appliance.
I can’t use Jabber to another IPSec VPN user that is connected to the different ASA appliance that I am connected to.
In the hub-and-spoke design, where the VPN ASA is a hub, and the VPN client is a spoke; if you have two hubs clustered together, how does one spoke communicate with another spoke on the other hub in the cluster? (How to allow hairpinning to the other ASA)

Portu,
Thanks for your quick reply.
Unfortunately, I do not have access to the ASA logs nor would I be permitted to turn on the debug settings asked for above.  I might be able to get the logs but it will take awhile and I suspect they wouldn't be helpful as this ASA supports thousands of clients, therefore, separating out my connection attempts from other clients would be difficult.
I can, though, do whatever you want on the Linux router.  Looking over the firewall logs at the time of this problem, I don't see anything that looks suspicious such as dropped packets destined for the Windows client.
As I said in my original post, I'm not a networking expert - by any means - but I am willing to try anything to resolve this.  (But I might need a bit of handholding if I need to set up a  wireshark andor tcpdump.)
Thanks again.

  • Oracle Client for Windows 2008 R2 server to connect to Oracle database 9iR2

    Hi,
We are running Oracle 9.2.0.7 on Sun solaris (64 Bit) 5.10 and trying to install client on new Windows 2008 R2 (64 - bit) server. (Before this 2008 R2 we were using Windows 2003 32 bit and 9iR2 client was working great.) I can't install 9iR2 clinet and I tried installing 10gR1, 10gR2 and 11gR1 but none of them worked. It is only allowing me to install 11gR2. When I installed 11gR2 client I am getting some 'overflow exception on an arithmetic operation' error.
1.) Do I have any choice for client installation or only 11gR2?
2.) Any solution for overflow error?
    Thanks,

  • Directory Caching issue with Cisco Jabber client for Windows

    Hi ,
I am facing cache issue with Cisco Jabber client for Windows. If I do any change related to modification or deletion of contacts in Active Directory/ Callmanager, it does not reflect in the Jabber. Because jabber takes the contacts from the locally stored cache file in the Windows system.
Every time I have to remove the cache file to overcome this issue, practically it's not possible to do the same with all the Widows users. As, if any employee leaves the company and still I can see his contact appears in the "Cisco Jabber client". I have not seen this issue with Android/Apple iOS.
Is there any automated way to remove the cache file?
Here is the detail of CUCM,Presence and Jabber.
    CUCM version: 9.1.x
    Presence          : 9.1.X
    Jabber              : 10.5 and 10.6

    Hello
On our environment we had to install a dedicated Microsoft Certificate Authority "just for Cisco Jabber usage" to house the
    Network Device Enrollment Service.
Our certificate for the CUPS were generated on this Certification Authority too.
I discussed this certificate matter with my colleagues this afternoon and nobody seems to remember how these certificates were deployed into the
Enterprise Trust store for the users.
But I think they asked all 400 users to accept the 3 certificates by answering "yes" to the popup instead of using a script deployed by GPO...
I wish you success with that deployment and really hope you have a technical partner that *Knows* this subject.
Our partner left us alone with that unfortunately.
    Florent
EDIT: If the "Certutil script method" works, please let me know. This could be useful in our own deployment.

Where can I download the Oracle 10g R2 clients for Windows 7?

    Welcome to the forums !
Pl identify exact versions of "10gR2" and Windows 7. The only certified combination is 10.2.0.5 on Win 7 Professional or higher. Home version of Windows is not supported. Using uncertifed combinations will result in the software not working as advertised.

  • Unable to install Cisco Jabber Video in Windows 8

When I attempt to install Cisco Jabber Video for TelePresence (version 4.6 and 4.7) in Windows 8, I get the following error message:
The error says: "The wizard was interrupted before Cisco Jabber Video for TelePresence could be completely installed. Your system has not be modified. To complete Installation at another time, please run setup again. Click Finish to exit the wizard."
The error occurs for 4.6 and 4.7. What can be done to resolve this issue?

    Hi Robert,
Is Windows 8 on a Surface Tablet or desktop/laptop?
If Tablet, this platform is not supported.  No ETA on when a version will be released to support this.
If desktop/laptop, then you need to update your video driver by visiting the website of the manufacturer, i.e. Intel, nVidia, ATI, etc. The latest video driver cannot be obtained by using the Microsoft update tool.  These drivers are usually generic and/or not the latest.
Once installed, this error should go away.
If installed and you still get the error, then this means your video card is unsupported and you will not be able to use this software.

  • How to create a VPN client for Windows Phone 8.1?

We have our own VPN client for Windows and Android. I would like to create a VPN client  for Windows phone 8.1. After referring these site I found that there are some third
party VPN plugins available for WP 8.1.
I checked OpenVPN but it is also not available for WP 8.1.
Is there any APIs available for creating a VPN client in WP 8.1 similar to
VpnService provided by Android SDK ?

The VPN APIs for WP8.1 are not open at this time.

    1. This is the forum for windows 9x
    2. There is no official client for 2008 (yet), but several posters have
claimed success with the Vista client.

  • NFSv4.0 client for Windows servers?

Does anyone know if there is an NFSv4.0 client that I can install on my Windows servers (2008 and 2012) to access a file system that supports the NFSv4.0 protocol?
I tried the native Windows "Client for NFS" but it appears to be using NFSv3 (client uses v3 MOUNT commands). I also tried a client from UMichigan, but it only supports v4.1 (separate protocol).
    Would really appreciate your help!

    Hi,
On Windows Server 2008, you can use Services for NFS with UNIX computers which are running NFS client or server software which complies with version 2 or version 3 of the NFS protocol. On Windows Server 2012, you can use NFS Version 4.1 Protocol Specification.
For more detailed information, you could refer to the articles below:

  • 64 Bit Client for Windows 7

We were running fine on a 64-bit Windows 7 laptop using the 5.0.07.029-k9 64-bit client, and a few days ago it stopped working.  It would just hang while starting/connecting.
I tried re-installing, which of course didn't work, but I was able to find a restore point around the 1st week of December that, when rolled back, worked.
It looks like Windows update did some updates at that point, specifically
    KB2761465 - IE
    KB915597 - Windows Defender
    KB2760416 - Office 2007
    KB2726929 - Office 2003
    KB2753842 - Windows 7 64 bit
    KB2758857 - Windows 7 64 bit
    KB2770660 - Windows 7 64-Bit
    KB2779030 - Windows 7 64-Bit
    KB2760497 - Word 2003
    KB2760582 - Outlook 2003
    KB2779562 - Windows 7 64-Bit
    KB890830 - Malicious Software Tool
    KB2754295 - Security Essentials
The PC is using Office 2003, not 2007.
I have downloaded 5.0.07.0440-k9.  It appears that this is the latest 64-bit client.
    Questions:
1.) Which, if any of these updates is the culprit?
2.) Is the 0440 version the solution?  The user wants to do the Windows Update again, but I am reluctant to break it again without a solution.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
I know that my answer doesnt really help to solve your question but thought I'd still metion it.
The Cisco IPsec VPN client is something that is nearing its end (or reached it already) regarding any updates or support from Cisco. I would start looking into possiblity to move into Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client (Newer versions are called AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client)
Heres a link to more specific information regarding the old VPN Client and its end of support
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/vpndevc/ps5743/ps5699/ps2308/end_of_life_c51-680819.html
I'm not totally sure (as I have barely tested the client software) but you might be able to test using another non Cisco VPN Client for your VPN Client connections if you are not going to move to AnyConnect
I think it was called Shrew VPN Client
Sadly the www.shrew.net site is down now so I cant even confirm this.

Currently, no Oracle software is certified for Win7. Rumor is that Oracle plans to certify only 11gR2 for Win7 - ETA is unknown. That said - there are some people who have been successful using the Windows 2008 version of Oracle s/w on Windows 7. Sometimes using the 'ignore system prerequisites' flag will work. A search in the forum will yield some info.
Not that I would recommend that operation in production.

No easy fix for a few reasons:
    1) Bootcamp requires a hybrid MBR for the partition table. That is: both an MBR and a GPT partition table at the same time with the GPT one having all partitions and the MBR one having only the ones that are relevant, but at most 4 of them (including the protective partition and the Macintosh HD one). Which leads us to:
    2) The MBR part of the hybrid partition table cannot work with 3TB hard drives. MBR is limited to 2TB.
I am working on a small EFI app that can boot Windows in EFI mode on a Mac and that would mean that you can go GPT only on your system. The progress of the app is slow due to the nature of EFI and for now requires that you do an unattended Windows install with slipstreamed graphics drivers, but we are adding VGA loading on top of EFI quite soon after the rest of the app stabilises. The status of the app is documented at:
Win7 x64 booting natively via EFI (no bios emulation)
Windows does actually successfully boot in EFI mode on most Macs (anything with a 64bit EFI should work), but does not have graphics support even if you load the driver due to the VGA pci registers not being set by the firmware. Furthermore, in Setup and Safe Mode, Windows uses VGA instead of GOP which is a failure by design since VGA is a BIOS standard and not really compatible without hacks with EFI. Other EFI implementations also add VGA compatibility at a high cost to the firmware complexity for the VGA cards available on the market that don't actually contain anything in their ROM except the VGA BIOS.
    My recomendations:
    1) Install on a second smaller hard-drive; or
    2) Wait for the EFI app to come out officially and use that to boot Windows Vista SP1 x64 and Windows 7 x64 (RTM and SP1) in the native EFI mode.
    3) Wait for Windows 8 which supports VGA-less booting acording to the AMD presentation at UEFI Plugfest.
