Cisco/Linksys WRVS4400N email address length limit

I have noticed that when I try and enter in an e-mail address for alert logs that I am unable to using the web form provided as there is a length limit.
The only way I have managed to get around this is to use the firefox plugin tamper data - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/tamper-data/
I am using the latest firmware:
V2.0.0.8-ETSI
Are there any other solutions/updates/fixes available?

  • CISCO ISE 1.2.0.899 - Self registration email address field Limit

    Hi
I was wondering if someone out there can resolve an issue I am seeing, when a user goes to the self registration portal and enters an email address it only allows 24 characters to be entered, in the documentation it states that up to 48 characters can be entered. Is there a setting that i need to change to increase the character limit to above 24.
    Thanks
    John

    Hi Anas
That is not true, I had the same problem with ISE in our Network.
We are running 1.2.0.899, after all the troubleshooting I decided to upgrade the Patch on the ISE.
As part of that I have deployed patch 5, which has resolved the issue.
So please just download patch 5 for the solution.

  • EIM 4.3.1 - Length limit for email alias

    Hi all,
Is there a way to increase the length of the email address when creating the aliases? What we found is there's a 40 character limit for that field.
    Thanks!
    -JT-

    JT,
You have me at a disadvantage as I only know Exchange with EIM.
A server rule in Exchange can copy and forward, or simply forward. In the latter, the original no longer exists in the first inbox. When the agent replies, EIM can use the original mailbox as the one to reply to. The EIM mailbox can be hidden from the customer.
Doing this provides lots of useful things. If you have a number of original targets you can collate them, or you can split emails based on server rules to different inboxes that EIM watches and easily route to queues based on aliases. Lots of options.
    Regards,
    Geoff

  • Is there a limit to the number of email addresses in one message?

    Hello
Is there a limit to the number of email addresses in one message with Mac Mail?
I am trying to send out to c900 email addys and am being told my server does not recognise the email addresses. I will check with the folks hosting the email also.
    Many thanks
    Matthew Causon

Ooh, yes, 900 emails at once will absolutely not work (unless you get very very lucky).
If this is just a one-off, you should group the addresses into, at the very most, 50 addresses, and send batches. If you're doing this a lot, I would recommend using something like DirectMail.

  • When purchasing from itunes we exceeded the limit and think we remembered the answers and rescue email address is incorrect.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

  • Cisco Unity Express 8.x - sending voicemail to email address (CME+CUE)

    Hi Team,
I know might this is very common question for you all.
Can Cisco Unity Express send voicemail to an email address? If yes, any additional software license required for the same?
Could you plesae provide me the steps how to implement.
    Thanks,
    Nirmal

    Nirmal,
There is no extra license needed to support the email notification feature. There are two method available in CUE, IMAP or standard email notification.
With IMAP, the if the user deletes the email in their inbox, it will get deleted in their voicemail box. With standard email notification, no action taken by the user in with email will translate to their voicemail.

    Hi Clive.
As others have said, it's a phishing email. The from/reply-to address isn't BT (a spoofed Rogers internet address), the IP address of the sending machine is a Nigerian mobile (pretty much typical).
The click link is already reported as a forgery as shown by Firefox (and is not a BT site of course).
Again, as others have said - can you edit your post to remove your email address, and the Rogers one.

  • Linksys WRVS4400N Setup

The way that we have our network set up is that the internet comes into one nic card and that on a second nic card it goes to the WRVS4400N. In this, the DHCP is controlled by the server not the router – in a sense the server acts like the ISP. So with this in mind, our level 3 Linksys tech had us change Automatic Configuration – DHCP to Static. Now since I did not write down very good notes I am not sure what we set the static to. My thinking was as if you run ipconfig you get the default gateway. That is after you disable the routers DHCP. Unplug from the internet connection and then plug it into the #1 Ethernet port. This should let you have access the internet. Though I have not change the Automatic Configuration – DHCP to Static, I do currently have internet. I have tried to change Automatic Configuration – DHCP to Static and cannot save it as it is in the same range as the ip addresses. In response to this forum, I know that Linksys support engineers’ don’t monitor these forums and the chance of this getting answered is slim. It is at this time a note of reference for me to remember what I have done so far. If by chance anyone out there has set up a similar set-up, please PM me or post a response here.

Router configured to automatic configuration- dhcp and using ethernet port 1 - You have internet access with this setup because its just like your only extending your hardwired connection using the linksys router. Your internet connection is coming from our server  and then the server is connected to the internet. What is the IP address of the second nic card?

  • Cable length limit on the so-called "Internet" port?

Is there a limit on the cable-length when connecting an Ethernet cable to the so-called "Internet" port on a WRT54G router?
I assume this is a standard 10/100 Ethernet port, since I am connecting this to the Ethernet port of my DSL modem. Since the Ethernet standard defines a maximum cable-length of 100 meters when connecting any 2 Ethernet devices, I should be able to use a cable up to this length when connecting 2 Linksys routers together.
Here is what I want to do:
    DSL Modem-->Linksys Router-->Linksys Router
My first Linksys WRT54G router is connected to a DSL modem. I want to put a second WRT54G Linksys router in a different building, and connect them with a 100 meter Ethernet cable, connecting the remote end to the second router´s "Internet" port, and the other end into one of the first router´s available 10/100 ports. This will allow me to create 2 wireless signals, with 2 different DHCP scopes and 2 different SSID´s, basically allowing me to extend the range, with the 2 routers connected with a physical wire.
This works when connecting them with a short, 2 meter cable. Using a short cable I am able to associate with the second router´s SSID, get a DHCP address from that router, and then turn on RIP on both routers and have traffic route from the second router to the first one and out to the Internet successfully.
However, when I replace the short cable with a longer one, either 80 meters or 100 meters, I don´t get a link light between the routers. I do get a link light if I connect to a 10/100 port on both routers, but RIP doesn´t seem to want to exchange routes on the second router out anything other than the "Internet" port. Moving the cable back to the "Internet" port fails to produce a link light (unless I use a really short cable, which does produce a link light).
So my question is this: from a Layer-1 perspective, is the "Internet" port an Ethernet port that enforces a cable-length limit that doesn`t follow the standard 100 meter rule?
    --- Christer

well..the internet port is definitely an ethernet port...however, it is not supposed to limit the cable length .. try a 50 m cable and check whether it works...because my friend had a similar kind of an issue and it worked fine with a 50 m ethernet cable ..

  • AIR-AP1141N connected to Cisco linksys E1200

Does anyone know if it possible to get dhcp service to an AP1141N when it is connected to  > Cisco Linksys E1200 > cable modem?
The AP gets an IP for the BVI1 interface, the client associates but I get no IP assigment for the client.
    What am I missing?
You may be wondering why I am doing this considering that the linksys is already wireless router. It is just a test to see if it possible. The linksys provides IP's and internet access just fine when the AP is not in the mix.

At one time I had a netgear wireless router and I was able to make this work. I replaced the netgear with the cisco linksys E1200 and now I cannot get it to work.
Attached is the AP config that I used when the netgear was in use.
The only think that is different now is that the IP addr that is assigned to the BVI1 interface.
The default gate on the netgear was the same as you see here.

    Hi,
I would guess this is  an AIM valid Screen Name such as an Apple issued @mac.com account.
I would also guess you travel to other countries.
There have been several posts about @mac.com names and people who travel and use their Screen Name elsewhere having the name Suspended.
Can you Log in here  https://settings.aim.com/ ?
Is this where you saw the Suspended message ?
For AIM issued name the answer is to change your Password as this tends to prove you own the account.
This does not work for Apple IDs used as  AIM Valid Screen Names as AIM can't tell when the password is changed (They can only see it when you log in)
AIM's Suspended Account page has an email ([email protected]) on it to contact if your account remains Suspended.
However you need to be very clear that you have an Apple Issued Name and that you know that resetting the password that works for AIM Names and that you would like them to reset the account.
More recently this has been a sticking point.  It seems the Contact you get does not always know about the agreement that AIM recognises Apple Issued IDs as Valid Screen Names and that the AIM  servers can only view the passwords at specific times (or at least confirm them) so you changing it will make no difference and that they have to step in manually.

  • Cisco Linksys E3000 - Open DNS Error

I just purchased a Cisco Linksys E3000 and got it set up pretty much the way I want it. My only remaining problem is I wish to used Open DNS as my DNS server. On Line chat support says,"Please access router set up. Under the set up tab you will see the option for DNS1 and DNS2 please change it to 208.87.222 & 208.67.220 and save settings". I replied"I am on the basic set up page and currently I see Static DNS 1 thru 3 which are currently all zeros is that where you want me to put the new DNS numbers?"
I made the changes as directed, saved and also flushed the DNS cache in Windows and in Firefox, rebooted and everything worked great.
The problem is if the computer goes to sleep or is shut down when it restarts it cannot find the DNS server! What am I missing?
    Thanks

Thanks for your help. This one really has me baffled
As you can see below the static DNS is set to 3 adddresses for Open DNS and everthing works fine.untill either the computer goes to sllep or is shut down. Then the router can no longer locate a DNS server. The only way I can find to get everything working again is to zero out the address for Open DNS and reboot the router which somehow reestablises the DNS servers as:

You can also this below and I hope you have some idea of what is happening. I never had this problem before with any other routers on this system.
    Thanks,
    Chick
