Cisco MSE CMX dashboard

Hi,
I have some problem with CMX dashboard configuration, I followed the configuration guide (http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/mse/7-6/CMX_Dashboard/Guide/Cisco_CMX_Dashboard_Config_Guide.html) and can't understand, how do I add a map to CMX dashboard to define points of interest, all I can see is only gray screen with button "Update Floors Maps" and when I press it - nothing happens. However CMX analytic works just fine, and maps fully syncronized with cisco Prime

"The maps and location data for the campus, building, or floor are uploaded to the Prime Infrastructure and synchronized with the Location MSE. The CMX Dashboard displays these maps."
Well, it doesn't, I don't see any maps which I created in cisco Prime and syncronized with MSE
"Click the white triangular icon in the right pane located at the left side of System Campus."
There is no System Campus when I click on white triangle

Cisco MSE CMX problem

hi all,
When I tried to configure CMX on my MSE after adding the license i follow these steps:
Choose Mobile Concierge Service > CMX Dashboard Configuration.Choose the Location MSE that the CMX Dashboard MSE gets the maps and location data from. It can be the same MSE or a different MSE.
after I open Mobile Concierge Service I found that CMX Dashboard Configuration not appeared
kindly find attached screenshot from my MSE.

Cisco MSE not detect the specific place

Hi all,
I have a Cisco MSE 7.6.100 with Cisco PI 1.4 and Virtual controller 7.4.121 and 3 APs (3600,3600 and 1600) to make the MSE to detect the location in accurate but I found that when I moved from Area to another Area (each area is covered by AP) the wireless client not associated on the New AP that is on the new Area which reflect on the accuracy of the Location detection.
this scenario is made to test MSE-CMX feature.
please advice to solve this problem.

If you have issues you handover you need to make sure that the overlapping between the channels is proper and the 50 % overlapping is there.
When designing a WLAN, overlapping RF cell coverage is necessary to provide for seamless roaming. However, the overlapping coverage cells should not have overlapping frequency space. In the United States there are only three channels (1, 6 and 11) that do not share frequency space. RF is a half-duplex medium that allows for the transmission of only a single radio on any frequency channel, therefore when three or more 2.4 GHz APs are needed to cover an enterprise facility, only the non-overlapping channels of one, six and eleven should be used.
802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi radios can transmit in the 2.4 GHz band with a total of fourteen available channels. In the US only eleven of those channels are legally available and only 13 are available in Europe.
within the 2.4 GHz band, only three channels have non-overlapping frequency space: channels one, six and eleven.

If possilble yuou can download the virtual MSE and that has an eval license so you can use it for 60 days I believe.

Can cisco MSE(mobility service engine) configured to work with non-cisco access points?

I understand that access points can be configured to forwards all the probe requests to cisco wifi controller. cisco MSE(mobility service engine) gets the probes from wifi controller to find the location of the mobile devices.
My question, can cisco MSE(mobility service engine) be configured to work with non-cisco access points?

No and the reason why is the NMSP communication from the MSE to the WLC. Other vendors don't support this so there is no communication happening.

Is Cisco Prime required to use Cisco MSE?

I recently purchased a Cisco MSE 3355 with locator licenses. I have 2- Cisco ISE's and 2 - WLC 5508s.
Is it required to use Cisco Prime in order to see the location services that the MSE is providing?
If so, what type of license do I need?

Can we install CISCO MSE in MS Hyper V ?
the minimum requirment for the MSE server is a dual processor server, can we install it on a server with single processor ?

I have fixed this problem successfully.
The problem was with the referral attribute of the cfldap tag.
After adding this (referral="yes") attribute to my code I am able to login into my website.

Cisco MSE Best Practice

Hi there,
I have two MSE 3355, MSE-1 for wIPS and MSE-2 for Location.
In the PI (Prime Infrastructure) site maps reports I can't look the wIPS attackers from the MSE-2 Location. It is possible to do this without having the wIPS license in the same server? How can I interoperate the wIPS attacks reports from the MSE-1 to the MSE-2 location base server? What is the best practice for this scenario?

Using TACACS+ with ACS especially gives you all of the AAA's - this is better/best practice for mgmt access to Cisco devices imho.

Could I use MBSSID on Cisco 851W? Feature Navigator Says "Yes"

I have looked at the Cisco Feature Navigator and according to the output with IOS 12.4(15)T1 thru T13 there is support for multiple SSID's and the feature "Multiple Basic Service Set ID" should be supported.
When I try to invoke that command mbssid on my Dot11 interface I get 'Invalid' response.
? Help shows no commands like this either.
Am I missing something here? Is the Feature Navigator misleading me or am I doing something wrong?
All I want to do is broadcast both SSID's that I currently have configured. Currently only one guest mode SSID is allowed and broadcast.

Hi Daniel,
MBSSID feature is not supported on 851W. You can verify this by entering the command "show controllers Dot11Radio 0" on your router which will give you the number of MBSSIDs supported is 1.
You can also refer to the data sheet given below:

Hence you can broadcast only one SSID at a time on 851W.

Cisco ASA models features

Hi,
I am little confused with different models of Cisco ASA Firewalls. I am trying to understand the real benefit of ASA Next-GEN ASA Firewalls. I understand the next-gen has visibility up to layer 7 but:
- with CX the previous gen of ASA Firewall had same or similar capability?
- Is CX removed from Next-Gen FW?
- Is AVC something apart from CX and new featue in the Next-Gen FW?
- What is the real advantage of upgrading to next-gen FW from older gen ASA Firewalls?

Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) is partly a marketing term. Wikipedia has a definition (as does Gartner and a host of others). Typically it's understood to mean something more than a simple stateful firewall that only looks at packets up to the TCP session level.
Cisco ASA has had add-on features for years like IPS modules and the ability to use Identities in access-lists that could arguably called NGFW. More recently they had the CX module (now Approaching End of Sales). It had several NGFW features including AVC, Web Security Essentials (WSE) and IPS.
The current product lineup include the FirePOWER modules with technology acquired from Sourcefire being developed and integrated into the Cisco security portfolio, including ASAs. Those also have AVC (basically the ability to look deep into a flow and determine application-specific (or even "microapplication") information. You leverage that with the addition of IPS, Web filtering and/or Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) licenses on the FirePOWER modules.
The advantage is that you are able to protect your enterprise from modern-day threats. With the vast majority of malware being exploits from web pages (or at least carried over http/https), the traditional firewall with a rule allowing, say, only http from inside clients does nothing to protect against those threats. Client side anti-malware software can help, but it may be too late once the malware has been identified.

I installed MSE virtual appliance 7.4.100 and cannot add it on the PI 2.0
I tried to reboot the MSE i found this log
