Cisco PCA preferece settings

Hi,
I am having a strange issue with Cisco PCA.
I will login to the cisco PCA and then set the phone number to internal dial number in the options under preference>>personal and save it.
I will come to the messages in the Inbox and click on the Speaker icon, the message plays on the phone. However if i logoff and login back and click on the speaker icon right next to the message then the phone number will automatically changes to the 10 digit primary number which is in Profile page (Gives error the "The specified phone number cannot be dialed bcoz it is restricted by your class of service") but will not be the number set in the options under preference>>personal.
Can some one tell me if they have any solution for this.
I am using 4.2(1) cisco unity.

    Hi,
    Need help in Cisco PCA issue.
    I have unity 4.2.1, one of my user is using a Win 7 PC, When we launch the CPCA some messages are having play option and others have the play option grayed off. When logged out and login back it works. This is intermitant. I would like to know if there is any compatibility issues are do i have to do some special browser settings on the Win 7 PC. I works fine on the win xp PC.

    Since you have confirmed that the "play" button of the media master control on Cisco PCA works on Windows XP machine, the problem is most likely on the client machine running Windows 7.
    This behaviour is possible if the network configuration is interfering with COM and DCOM  operations. verify that DCOM communication is enabled on the subscriber  workstation. This is because the Media  Master control bar relies on DCOM communication to communicate with the  Cisco Unity server.
    Apart from these, verify that there is no PIX Firewall between the  subscriber workstation and the Cisco Unity server. The Media Master  control bar does not work through a PIX Firewall. Disable virus scanning  services and VPN Client software on the subscriber workstation, as  applicable.

  • Cisco PCA Java error

    Has anyone seen the following error popup when accessing their Cisco Personal Communications Assistant?, "initMMApplet: InitMMAApplet Instance failed to get instance". We are currently on Cisco Unity Connection Version 2.1(2)ES19. It looks like it happens with anyone who has Java Version 6 Update 10. Anyone who has Update 4 or 7 seem to be ok. The error window does not stop you from proceeding to use the Assistant once you acknowledge it. Just throwing this out there to see if someone has run across this.

    Generally Java Plugin-specific error or warning messages are pop-up alerts that occur on pages that load the Java plugin to integrate the Media Master in a web page. These messages typically appear the first time that the Java plugin is loaded when you navigate to a page that contains the Media Master.

  • Cisco PCA contacts not importing all of them

    Trying to get contacts imported into Cisco PCA (Cisco Unity Personal Communications Assistant) so we have certain users call by voice command...
    I am able to get most of the contacts in, but only about 50% will import from Exchange.  I cannot figure out why others are not importing.  I cannot find anything obvious different between the contacts.

    So after much back and forth with TAC and getting the right people involved, there's a hard limit of 150 on Cisco's side.  We are putting in a PER with our partner, but I'm guessing this is a "don't hold your breath" situation  Its too bad this isn't documented anywhere and wasted a lot of my time and their time.

  • Cisco ACS Group Settings per NDG

    I am trying to figure out if there is a way to make certain settings that fall under a group configuration such as:
    Usage Quotas,
    Time of Day Access,
    Max Sessions
    to apply differently depending on which network device group the user is coming from.
    So for example if Jsmith belongs to group Staff and is coming from the VPN he will have one time of day access rules configured, where if he 802.1x's on a device in another NDG he gets another time of day access rule?
    I know you can apply ACL's based on the NDG the user is coming from, but it seems like the other options I mentioned above should be able to be controlled by NDG as well.
    We are running v3.3 of ACS.
    Any suggestions?

    I dont think so that is possible. You have option of NAP where in you can define what database to be used for specific user. Or if users comes from wireless use AD and if users comes for VPN use RSA DB.

  • Cisco PCA error when saving "Notification Device"

    When clicking save on the notification device I get this error "Error saving notification device - Number of Rings before hanging up is invalid.
    Please enter a number greater than zero." I do not see anywhere to change the number of rings.
    I just upgraded from 6.1 to 7.1(3)ES26 Unity connections. When I make changes in Unity itself it works fine. The changes appear in PCA .

  • Cisco Unity - Greeting settings

    Hello,
    I have the following situation, a manager will forward his phone to his assistent. His assistent has her phone "Forward All" to Voicemail. But when they do this they hear the standard unity greeting and not the personal greeting.
    I've checked in the greetings settings and activated the internal one , but that doesn't seem to work.
    The only way we can get this to work is to put the full e.164 number in the forward, it seems to trick the unity to act as a external caller.

    the "Forwarded Route" was no good, that seems to edit the option for everyone
    So we have 2 phones:
    Phone 1: Manager number 1234
    Phone 2: Assistent number 1235
    Phone 1 is forwarded to Phone 2 in a "Call Forward All" to "1235, at this time Phone 2 has a call forward all to the voicemail checkbox
    From the moment someone calls Phone 1 he is directly transferred towards Phone 2, Phone 2 is also forwarded to voicemail, so the original caller will reach the voicemail of Phone 2, but the original caller doesn't hear the personal greeting, he hears the standard cisco unity message of: "Hello , Welcome to cisco unity, from a touch dialpad ......, and we want it to just play the self recorded greeting of the user of Phone 2

  • Cisco 1310 Roam Settings

    I am trying to optimize my roam settings on a Cisco 1310 operating in WGB mode.  The WGB will roam around and connect to various 1310s configured in LAP mode.
    There are some optional settings that can be set including changing the beacon retries, data retries and also the RSSI level to force the WGB to roam if the RSSI reaches a certain level.
    Does anyone know of any issues with these settings? For instance, I run my network at 9Mbps and want to force a roam when the RSSI reaches -77dB or worse.
    Is it better to force this parameter or to just use default Cisco settings?
    Thanks for any help you can provide.  Cisco does detail the changes you can make but they don't go into much detail about the reasons for making changes to these options.

    It depends a lot on the moving speed of the device. We've seen 10km/h WGBs and 80km/h WGBs mounted on trains.
    It also depends on the coverage density. I never saw 2 situations where the same settings would work. It's more like a "try and see if it gives good results".

  • Cisco Prime Decryption Settings - Import Certificate

    Hi there,
    I have exported a PFX from a Windows server and converted it to PEM with an unencrypted key file as pem format also. I have done this many times before for Linux based appliances with no problems so i know the format is correct. 
    When I go to Decryption Settings and try to import the certificate it is giving me this error: certificate:The certificate to be used by the TLS decryption engine must be enabled as a certificate authority
    I have added the root certificate of this certificate chain and the intermediate to the root authority section in Prime (Configuration > Certificates) but it still gives me this error. I could see one post on the Internet with a similar error and he had converted it from PFX to PEM like myself. 
    If anyone has any tips that'd be great.

    It's actually the root certificate that is meant to be uploaded to Prime not a standard certificate as it turns out (I got replies from a TAC case). 
    The solution is to use the root certificate from a Windows certificate authority server in a domain environment or use the self signed certificate that Prime can generate. The root certificate then must be installed onto any machines that are using web filtering or else they'll get a certificate warning/error when they start web browsing. If there's a certificate authority server and all your machines are joined to the domain then the certificate will more than likely already be trusted by PCs. 
    Haven't got around to trying this yet though.

    I am having issues sending out email.
    Taken from CWMS administration guide:
    Step 5 
    #If displayed, enter the Username and Password credentials for the system to access your corporate mail server.Emails from the system are sent by admin@<WebEx-site-URL>. Ensure that the mail server can recognize this user.
    Is there anyways to use other username instead of admin?
    Reason being [email protected] is currently being used by our company and it is also a mailing list mail address

    Webex site URL: webexweb.bsb.com.cn   |  IP addr: 18.2.0.7
    After they re-add all related hostname&IP mapping (EXSi server, vcenter, webex VM, webex Admin&Site URL) to the DNS server (11.4.0.8), webex site URL is now accessible, the page which asks me to input user ID & password to login.
    However, when we input the webex site URL (webexweb.bsb.com.cn) in Browser, we are automatically redirected to webexadmin.bsb.com.cn (host name of the virtual machine that hosts the webex), is that expected behaviors for webex site URL?
    Besides, we are now planning to change the mail server on webex, but we found that it did not allow us to input IP address of mail server, only FQDN name of mail server is valid for input. Is that a bug ? Why it does not allow us to input IP address for mail server?

  • PCA - GLPCA/GLPCT - Transaction curr = 0, all other currency equal $$$$$

    Hello all, i have a issue i need help on.  I have a document that was created in 2004.  Within the tables, i see the document has a zero value for Transactional currency - TSL, but i have over million dollars in both Comp code (HSL) and Profit Center currency (KSL).  The Business Transaction is PRC5 - Profit Center document entry.  When i look on the system, it doesn't have a reference document number like all my other postings.  Now i was thinking it was entered thru 9KE0 transaction, however i can not get past entering in a Transactional currency and the system populates the other currencies.  We just upgraded to ECC6, and at the time of this entry, we were on 4.6, so not sure if that transaction was different and allowed posting only in a cretain currency type.
    Has anyone every had this issue before, and how did they fix it.  I don't believe it is a currencty translation, as that PC is only been posted to in USD.

    I have a problem with Cisco Meeting Place Express and Exchange Server synchronizing.

    When I type the button test, I receive “Authentication error. Check the authenticated access to the Exchange Server for Microsoft NTLM authentication scheme.”
    My Exchange Server is synchronized with MS Active Directory. As far as I know, Kerberous is used for authentication. So, how can I enable NTLM authentication scheme on AD? Are there any other options for Cisco MPE and Exchange synchronization?

    I have corrected domain name in configuration after your advice. Cisco MPE Exchange Configuration is working very well now. I’m able to start a meeting from the outlook calendar and send messages to meeting participants.

    We having single network total 3 L3 switches in server mode and 80 L2 transperent and claint modes  switches, Total switches are same vtp ,L3 ip address 10.66.1.1,1.60 and 1.120,on cisco works topology services showing only 10.66.1.60 switch details and some other switches showing but it s not showing total network,I configured on cisco works snmp settings . any other configuration required.all switches are enabled cdp .Total Network 10.66.1.0 series.

  • Cisco Emergency Responder 8.5.1 - Onsite Alert Email

    Good Day,
    I have a client with CER 8.5.1 and they currently have 2 Onsite Alert contacts configured.  The first one in the list is working correctly, and the other day when they had a 911 call placed it correctly sent out an email advising.
    The second entry did not get an email.
    I have gone through and checked the Cisco ER Group Settings, and have ensured the correct email address is present, but yet my client cliams that emails are not coming through for the one user.
    If the SMTP server was incorrectly configured than the first entry would not work, right?
    Does anyone know if there is a log that reports if/when emails are sent out, some proof that the system is in fact generating an email and sending it to Exchange?

    You can find logs on the attempted smtp messages by going to CER Serviceability.  Go to System logs, CER Server, and then look at the systemout.log files.  Do a search for the @domain.com of the full email address.  I'm not sure if you will see a failure response, as I don't have any failures to report, but you'll at least see the attempts.
    Are the two addresses in different domains?  Depending upon how the smpt relay is set up, it may allow messages to be sent internally, but not externally or only externally or not internally - something to discuss with the mail administrator.

    i know i can suppress the alarms, but can anyone tell me why this is generated?  how is it when Cisco PCA can manage the device, i get authentication issue on SNMP v2c ?

    Even I am facing this issue.
    The server is in managed state in Device Work Center. But still observing the Alarm " SNMP  entity has received a protocol message that is not properly authenticated.".
    Also it takes 15 to 20 minutes for an alarm to get cleared.
