Cisco phone proxy will support on cucm 8.6 or not
Hi as per document i can see that Cisco phone proxy . Without using vpn connect . Customer want to keep configured Cucm on there Jabber or cisco mobile on the iphone and need to get connected when ever they have an internet access .
And also by keeping a small end router at branches havin only one cisco phone needs to connect to the corprate office using proxy.
Is that possible and also is it possible on 8.6 cucm version . Here am just attaching a document info which says version supported
Supported Cisco UCM and IP Phones for the Phone Proxy
Cisco Unified Communications Manager
The following release of the Cisco Unified Communications Manager are supported with the phone proxy:
•Cisco Unified CallManager Version 4.x
•Cisco Unified CallManager Version 5.0
•Cisco Unified CallManager Version 5.1
•Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.1
•Cisco Unified Communications Manager 7.0
I understand the VPN solution is a good one, but we have already 100 proxy phones deployed and from what I read I'd need to first set up a VPN phone on the cluster before deploying it in the field. This would be difficult to do with users all over the country. Or am I missing something?
I have a question about our ASA though if anyone can answer it. We have to move from an ASA 5510 to a 5520 due to the 100 UC proxy-phone license limitation (even though we have 70 phones it appears that a UC license is taken up for each TFTP server configured on the phone - primary and secondary). When I configured the 5520 I can register new phones no problem. None of the existing phones will register until the CTL file is manually deleted on each phone. Is there a way to seamlessly migrate to the 5520? Such as using the same certs, CTL file etc.. on the 5520? When I configured it it generated it's own self-signed key and CTL file. I did import the certificates from CUCM...

Cisco ATA 187 - will unregister from CUCM 10.5
Hello,
I've got some problems with my Cisco ATA 187. They keep unregistering from time to time. If you shutdown the Interface on the switch and no shut, it gets registered just straight away. According to cdp the device is pingable all the time, just the registration with the callmanager seems to be a problem.
Versions are:
App Load ID APP187.9-2-3-1
Boot Load ID 1.8.0.6
SW_Version ID 187.9-2-3-1
External Engineer told me that this series contains some kind of bug, but if I'll assign/configure the 2nd Port on that one, it shouldn't hung up. I've also tried this but without success.
Any ideas? :)
Thanks and regards
MarcMarc,
Yes the ATA 187 has always been a problem. I have had it doing the same thing with different versions of the Call Manager (starting 8.5). Anyways the only thing that made it bit stable for me has been to try and change the firmware. You can try to upgrade/downgrade the firmware on any one device that is having this issues and test if it makes any difference at all.
You can also search this forum it should come up with quite a number of threads on this.

Will cisco Jabber work without a precense server . with MAC laptops , I PHONE . ANROID PHONESHi Jonathan,
Thanks for your entry..I would be really great if you can answer my below as I am not getting any solution for this.
I have to setup a lab enviornment for demonstrationg the Jabber technologies for our client.i am really new to jabber technologies and as per my understanding its a Softphone that we can install in PC and Mobile and has the features such as IM,Presence and Web-ex.
the below link showing Jabber is supporting with Windows now.
http://www.cisco.com/web/products/voice/jabber.html
For my demonstration I only need to install Jabber on a windows PC and have to show the IM,Presence and web-Ex..
My doubt is what all software combination required for Jabber technologies??
1)Either CUCM+Presence+Jabber(What Versons??)
2)CUCM+Jabber.(Versions??)
We have 3 MCS(7816) in our lab and running CUCM version 7.0.If we need a later version for this to support ??We will manage to get the Demo Licence from Cisco.
I serached in google for good document but no luck.....Please give me a good documents for integeration and configuration for this requiremnets.

Cisco Phones hears ringback even after the mobile person disconnect
Hi am using CUCM 10 and h323 gateway 3 PRI .
I found that when i dial to mobile phone and just disconnect the call from the mobile , still the cisco phone rings .
I informed that service provider is not sending the RX disconnect (disconnect signal ) but they said that they are already sending it .
Please find the attached debug taken and dial peer configs attached .Hi, underCliff. Make sure to use a different SSID on both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. Also, I suggest try changing the wireless channel of your Router. You can use this link in choosing the right channel for you. http://forums.smallnetbuilder.com/showthread.php?t=7613 or http://www.cites.illinois.edu/wireless/speed.html

I got a new iphone 5c for Xmas and my laptop is registered with my iphone 4, which I no longer use or have hence the new phone lol. How do I remove the old info and register my new phone? Will it let me?
You do not register the phone with the laptop. If you are using the same Apple ID on the new phone as the old, you will have no trouble. Connect the phone and you can restore from a backup of the old phone, or just sync your new phone if it is already set up, with the laptop, managing your content in iTunes.

When Mig Workbench will support the JOIN syntax?
Oracle 9i supports the ANSI SQL standard. The current workbench
version converts the JOIN syntax into the (+) syntax. Does
anybody know if and when the Migration Workbench will support
the JOIN syntax i.e. not try and convert it?
Thanks
CostasHi,
Oracle 9i now supported ANSI standard outer joins. We are
currently planning our coming releases of the Workbench and we
would hope to include outer join capability in version 2.0.3 of
the Workbench . We have not finalised plans yet but it looks like
being Q1 next Calendar year.

Cisco SIP Phone 9971 will not register on CME 8.6
Hello,
I'm trying to configure a Cisco SIP Phone 9971,
but it won't register on CME 8.6, which is running on a 2811
The Phone shows this error message: Phone Not Registered.
And when I check the the Status Messages in the Phone, I see the following:
VPN Error: vpn is not configured
Actually, it shows all these 4 messages in a constant Loop:
12:01:59a SEP189C5DB6BD09.cnf.xml (TFTP)
12:01:59a No Trust List instaled
12:01:59a Updating Trust list
12:02:00a VPN Error: VPN is not Configured
It seems that this VPN Error is keeping the Phone from registering.
This is repeated for ever and the Phone never registers; at least that's what it appears.
However, when I do a sh voice register pool, I get the following:

But I still get the Phone Not Registered message on the screen!

How many 7920 phones can be supported on one Cisco 1131AG access point?
hi all,
who knows that how many 7920 phones can be supported on one 1131ag AP? Thanks a lot...Hi Alomar,
Hopefully this info will help;
Number of 802.11b Phones per AP
Before any discussion about network planning can take place, it helps to understand the basics of the overall network capacity.
The following network capacity guidelines apply to sizing the Wireless IP Telephony network:
No more than 7 concurrent G.711 calls per AP.
No more than 8 concurrent G.729 calls per AP.
Note These design recommendations assume that Voice Activity Detection (VAD) has been disabled on the Cisco 7920 Wireless IP Phones. Use of VAD on the Cisco 7920 phones can conserve bandwidth, but Cisco recommends that you disable VAD on all Cisco CallManager servers to provide better overall voice quality.
In addition to determining how much bandwidth is needed for an 802.11b VoIP call, you must also consider overall radio contention for a particular RF channel. The general rule is that you should not deploy any more than 20 to 25 802.11b endpoints per AP. The more endpoints you add to an AP, the more you reduce the amount of overall bandwidth and potentially increase transmission delays.
The maximum number of phones per AP depends on the calling patterns of individual users (based on Erlang ratios). Cisco recommends no more than 7 concurrent calls using G.711 or 8 concurrent calls using G.729. Beyond that number of calls, when excessive background data is present, the voice quality of all calls becomes unacceptable.
From this doc;
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/phones/ps379/products_implementation_design_guide_chapter09186a00802a0a05.html
Hope this helps!

Cucm 8.6 to 10.5 and cisco phone 7911
Hi,
WE will upgrade to cucm 8.6 to 10.5.
We have a lot of sccp 7911 phone.
Can we use this phone with 10.5 ?
Will we find the software for this phone in the 10.5 devicepack ?
If not can i install cmterm-7911_7906-sccp.9-4-2-1.cop.sgn to cucm 10.5
TanksYes, we have not removed any phones from the drop down
If you want to know what FW is included in a DevPack, read the DevPack documentation.
Same for device FW, if you review the info on downloads (see below), or FW documentation, you'll find compatibility
7911/7906 SCCP IP Phone load - Compatible CUCM Versions: 5.0.4, 5.1.3, 6.0.1, 6.1.3, 6.1.4, 7.0.2, 7.1.2 and above

hey apple users. if i deactivate my iphone because i got a new phone, can someome else put thier sin card in my old iphone and then it will work again? or does the phone stop working all together if i deactivate the phone on the support page?
Do this first:

UCCX agent phone behind CUBE phone proxy
Hello,
has anyone tested using an contact center express agent phone that is registered through cube phone proxy to communications manager.
I did not find exact information in release notes and design guide if it is supported or not.
Maybe someone can tell me if this deployment is working for an agent phone or not.
ThanksA parameter was added to CUCM 4 years ago to fix this same issue with consult-transfer calls from Unity Connection. I asked at that time why they couldn't do this same type of fix for UCCX consult-tranfers. I was told after some back and forth that it would be included in a future release... That was 4 years ago!!! I am hoping that the new 10.x fix works with non-agent phones and also shows the calling number in the missed calls directory the way the Unity Connection fix did.
CUCM parameter that fixed this issue with Unity Connection:

The datasheet for SX80 mentions 'Cisco Unified Communications Manager native support (requires Cisco Unified Communications Manager version 8.6 or higher)'. This is a bit misleading for customers / partners who are using CUCM version 9.1.1, because SX80 is not supported on CUCM 9.1.1. The following bug provides clear details of cucm versions which support SX80
https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCun04264
Support for Cisco TelePresence SX10 and SX80 on UCM
CSCun04264
Description
Symptom:
add support for Cisco TelePresence SX10 and SX80, a set of new products from CETG on UCM
Conditions:
Applicable to Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CallManager) releases 8.6(2),9.1(2),10.0(1)
Workaround:
NoneHi
Installing the firmware file does not add capability for a new type of device to CUCM, which is not natively present.
8.6.2.22900-9 by default does not have the capability for the 78XX series phone. In order to enable the phone on CUCM you need to install device pack on CUCM and then do a cluster reboot.
Following is link to compatilbility matrix for device pack
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/compat/matrix/CMDP_BK_CCBDA741_00_cucm-device-package-compatibility-matrix.pdf
Firmware file is only useful , if CUCM has the capability for the device and you want to upgrade the firmware.
So, yes, you will need to install the Devicepack you have mentioned above first to enable 7821 on 8.6.2 and then add the phone.
But ensure that installing the devicepack will upgrade the device defaults for other phones as well. You may want to take backup of your device defaults and revert those back to original before you go for reboot , in case you are not looking to upgrade other device firmwares as well.
