Cisco Prime 1.2 (MAPS/FLOOR PLANS)

Hi All,
Does anyone have any idea on how to import and scale correctly campus, building and floor diagrams into Cisco PI?
I have tried several times via the editor to rescale and it just doesn't work.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

  • Updating Cisco Prime Infrastructure Campus Maps

Our campus has changed significantly since we first created our maps, so I decided to edit the existing campus. Couldn't do it...got an error.
So, I created a new campus with a new campus layout image. I'm trying to move the existing buildings from the old campus to the new campus, but when I try I get the following error.
Error(s): You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:
Error:Unknown Exception Occurred. If the problem persists please send logs to the Tech Support.
Error:Detail: Row was updated or deleted by another transaction (or unsaved-value mapping was incorrect):[com.cisco.server.managedobjects.servicedomain.ServiceDomain#50255481]
As an additional note, I can a new building to the new campus and I can also move a building that has no floor plans in it yet. Pretty poor if this error means I'm going to have to duplicate my entire campus.
    Any ideas?

  • After Update Cisco Prime Infrastructure from 1.3 to 2.0 imported floor plans has black background

    Hello everybody,
we have updated cisco prime infrastructure from 1.3 to 2.0. When we now import a floor plan (autocad-file, dwg-format), the background from finally image, that is show in prime, is black. Previous imported floor planes has a white background. We also tried to import a previous imported floor plan again, the background is now black. Is there a possibilty to change the background to white? Thanks

    Hi,
Look no further, these issues are related to know bugs. It seems that autocad files have multiple issues with PI 2.0, Only feasible way is to convert them to JPGs and import them. Lets hope these will get fixed to the level they where at PI 1.3.
CSCuj63017, PI 2.0 dwg(AutoCAD file) import reports Tailormade is for Demo use only
    Symptom:
When dwg files are imported to Prime Infrastructure, they report
    "For Demonstration Purposes only
    Tailor made software"
    Conditions:
    Prime Infrastructure - 2.0.0.0.294
Use of dwg (Auto cad) files
    Workaround:
    None at this time
    Further Problem Description:
CSCuj94500, Loading DWG floor maps on PI 2.0 appears in black background
    Symptom:
On PI 2.0 when we try to import autoCAD .dwg file to map, the map appears in black background.
    Conditions:
On PI 2.0 when we try to import autoCAD .dwg file to map
    Workaround:
use 3rd party tool like Draftsight or AutoCAD Trueview to change the file to .jpg and import again to PI, after that the map appear in white background in PI 2.0.
    Further Problem Description:
However, the same .dwg file when we imported it to PI 1.3 appear in map with white background.

  • Cisco Prime NCS Mapping Question

I am trying to setup maps within Cisco NCS for a building.
I have done this many times in the past but it has always been with very straightforward rectangular maps.
This time I have a building which is separated into two parts - an office area and a warehouse (high ceiling) type of area.
The issue I am trying to get around is that they are connected through a long wall that  bends across the length of the entire structure (image below of whole space.)
If I just use the below map for the entire dimensions of the building the problem is that I can only set one ceiling height which isnt the case at all since the warehouse ceiling is much higher than the office area.
If I split these out and try to use two separate areas, I have to overlay them somehow to get them to line up properly, but then NCS gives me an error that the two areas are intersecting.
I am kind of at a loss on how to proceed from here but maybe there is an easy solution I am missing.
Anyone have any ideas on how to accomplish building this floor plan in NCS prime?  In the image below the L-shape turned on its side is the warehouse area.  And the office area is the lower part in an upside down Z shape.
    Thanks,
    Tim

Well, now that I have upgraded to Prime Infrastructure I still face the same problem.
Since it's been over a year I thought I'd see if anyone has come up with any people have any new ideas for me?
    Thanks,
    Tim

  • Cisco Prime 1.3.0.20 Maps

    Hello All,
This is to see if I am the only one disappointed with the Mapping portion of Cisco Prime Infrastructure: my disappointments are as follows:
    1. The Map can only be zoomed up to a certain size, under WCS and NCS we could almost zoom indefinitely into the map.
    2. The edit map sizing tool bit and its working has changed and quite difficult to use, the tool tip has changed into a small square, and uses double click which are not as intuitive as before, why change a working thing?
    3. Printing the Map is almost like priting the screen, when you say print you are telling it to print the map and not how it appears on your screen, for there are other tools like snagit or greenshot.
These are serious concerns for my team, are you experiencing this?
    Prakash

Very similar issue at least.   The planning tool, which is reliant on the maps, is very difficult to use.  It is very difficult to scale maps for use in the planning tool.  Obviously this is important to calculations and placement of the AP's and also coverage computations.

  • Cisco Prime and Maps

    Hi
When you create a map in Cisco Prime and place the APs, does this effect in any way the RRM configuration on the AP's? or there power\channel selection?
Or are the maps a purely passive tool?
    Thanks in advance

RRM operates at the controller level.  Prime maps are passive only and have no impact on RRM.  The maps are more of a visual/graphical tool for heatmaps and planning scenarios.

  • Using a floor plan as a map to show in OBIEE 11g

    Hi,
I have a floor plan of a shopping center and would like to highlight facts such as revenue over each shop on the floor.
Does anyone know how you would create the spatial information that would be needed to map out the boundry of each shop on the shop floor - as this isn't something that you going to be able to get from something like Google Maps for example.
Is there a seperate application that has to do this?
    Thanks
    Ben

find out the coordinates of each shop boundary and after getting boundary coordinates. apply html tag(fmap and href) , you can show the result according to boundary

  • Class Map Statistic Dashlet in Cisco Prime Inf. 2.1

    Dear All ,
I installed the demo version of Cisco Prime infra . 2.1 and I saw that there is a specific Dashlet to monitor QOS class map .
As we have some policy-map configured  , it could be very interresting.
After a day spent on Google .. I didn't found how to configure it ..  I found that Cbqos must be enabled on the switch/router
So I did it by entering the following cmd
    snmp-server ifindex persist
    snmp mib persist cbqos
But nothing .  I also deployed the Cisco monitoring template for class map statistics .
Do I need another cmd to be entered  or any other device or appliance from Cisco .. ?
    Thanks a lot
    Marc

PI 1.2 definitely does not include all the regulatory compliance features of LMS. Reference.
Even though the document says PI 1.2 will do baseline compliance, I haven't figured out how they expect you to do that.

  • Creatng New Objects in Cisco Prime Wireless Planning

Does any one know if it is possible to create new types of Obsticals in CISCO Prime?
My new buildings are laboratories that have various thicknesses of concrete walls boht internal and external that I can get Db loss figures for. I would really like to be able to add these in to Prime so I can more accuratly predict covereage early on in the design.
    Cheers

    Hi Deb,
I would do a fresh install of PI 2.0 & go from step 5 onwards. Even though customer purchased PI 1.2 he is entitle to go to PI 2.0 or any other upgrade. You can talk to TAC & get any licensing  if any differences what was purchased & what is required in PI 2.0.
These migration will be not smooth as far as  I know. Also you are not gaining any thing (since you are adding maps fresh & no data migration)

  • Network topology map Cisco Prime Infrastructure

Hi just want to inquire if it is possible to create a network topology map on cisco prime infrastructure's dashboard that will display both wired and wireless devices or do we need another cisco product to accomplish it.
    Thanks

At long last, Prime Infrastructure 2.2 was released yesterday (17 December 2014) and now includes the Topology map feature:
"Cisco Prime Infrastructure provides a visual map that allows you to view the physical network topology, including the network devices and the links that connect them. The topology maps have indicators that show the current alarm status of network devices and links. By using the network topology maps, you can easily monitor your network by viewing alarms and viewing the interconnection between the devices." (Link)
I'm migrating a system now and will open a new thread with first impressions.

  • Cisco Prime 1.2 - cannot delete "Unassigned" Campus

    Hi,
has anybody an idea how to delete Unassigned Campus?
I went through I think all documentation and they are speaking that only "System Campus" cannot be deleted, but not a single word about "Unassigned" campus.
All the campuses below behaves like a child of Unassigned campus. I know it's just cosmetic issue, but still I would like to get rid of it.
    I attached a screenshot.
    Thanks!

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure MESH LINK ISSUE

    Hi,
a Customer of us has a trouble with cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.2.0.12 and AP mesh link.
There is an huge database ( i suppose the issue can be here ) and when we display some map ( each floor has about 6 RAP and 24 MAP ) we cannot see the MESH information and link draw.
The only way to dipley them is to disable "refresh from network": this way I'm able to show these link..... until a click before.
What i noticied when all was working fine, after i click to some floor:
    1) the software started to show the map with normal color and no mesh info displayed ( just ap and coverage cloud )
    2) after few time ( less than 1 second ) the map was becoming a little bit lighter and the mesh info was merged to the map
We are missini the second step
Anyone had the same issue ?
    best regards
    Luigi
PS: I opened a case with WCS version 6.0 ( same issue ) but, after some months, no risult. The last version working fine was WCS 5.2

Just to add some more informations:
    - disabling "refreshj from network" ( building properties ) the link and mesh info are showed
    - while I'm on a floor, after some refresh, i loose the mesh link draw and, if i click on an AP, i loose also mesh info in the popup. It' s like, after some refresh, the AP are no more recognized as Mesh ( !?!? )
    regards
    Luigi

  • Cisco Prime 2.0 to conduct a Predictive Survey

I´m looking for where are made the "Planning Mode" to conduct a predictive site survey in Cisco Prime 2.0  but I can´t find. I´ve already read a lot of documents but I was just more confuse.
I knew that in previous versions you could enter in "Planning Mode".
Someone know where is this inside the Prime 2.0 ?

If your familiar with WCS or NCS, then change the theme from lifecycle to classic mode. You can change this by clicking on the top right in the GUI by the login name:
Prime Infrastructure provides two different graphical user interfaces (from which you can switch back and forth by clicking the downward arrow next to your login name):
Then you can follow this guide.
