Cisco Prime 2.0 and monitoring FWSM transparent context
Hi All,
We have FWSM and ASASM configured in mixed mode (routed and transparent) In transparent mode, there is no IP address linked to the interface.
Cisco Prime save just the admin context, not the global context and other context.
My question is: how to save multiple context using Cisco Prime when context are configured in transparent mode? .
Rgds
Silvere
Omer,
"You can schedule when Prime Infrastructure collects the configurations of selected devices and specify recurring collections by choosing Operate > Configuration Archives , then clicking Schedule Archive ."

Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for welcoming me to your expert discussion :) I feel to be in the right place, at the right time. Thank you also for answering question beyond your scope here, much appreciated. The information received will help me to go further as such I have submitted a 5 start rating for your first reply.
That sounds promising about the LMS part so yes, I stay tuned and wait patiently.
Ok, now let’s revert to the actual topic discussed here. Cisco Prime Service Catalog and Process Orchestrator solutions I have briefly read up on this on CCO (where elseJ) and picked out the following quote
---- Quote from the Cisco Prime Service Catalog Data Sheet
Today’s end users want self-service and easy access to IT tools and services.
Simultaneously, organizations are seeking ways to extend their cloud management
platforms beyond self-service delivery of virtual machines and infrastructure resources
while increasing their use of cloud-based solutions to enhance business agility and effectiveness.
Cisco Prime™ Service Catalog offers tremendous benefits to organizations that want to unify the ways in
which all types of IT services are ordered and fulfilled, not just infrastructure requests
---- un quote ---
I try to understand what (at high level of course) happens in the back ground when an order is raised and which vendor solution your product can interact with.
As mentioned in the quoted text, this service catalogue goes beyond the standard infrastructure.
Let’s say, a user wants to deploy a new email services, or in your example, extends or create a new web-portal (i.e. for HR to view and manage holiday, staff absence and benefits).
Your solution will need to interact somehow with the 3rd party vendor application that is capable building such portal I believe.
Without disclosing to many information, I assume the portal is linked to backend VM,s that spin up requested resources (and more magic of course). Perhaps I am mixing this up with another cisco product where a user can go on the portal and spin up virtual Firewalls, virtual Routers can be provisioned in now time.
Out if interest; Is this product also known as Mozart? (project code within Cisco?)
I hope query is ok.
Best wishes

NetFlow export is also supported on other Cisco switches when using a NetFlow Feature Card (NFFC) or NFFC II and the Route Switch Module (RSM), or Route Switch Feature Card (RSFC). However, check whether version 5 is supported, as most switches export version 7 by default.
You can check the below steps to diagnose the issue::
To verify that NetFlow is exported from a device to PI, follow the steps below:
1) Browse to Administration > Data Sources page. Check the value in column ‘Last Active Time’ for the ‘Device Data Sources’ table. If the table is empty or the value does not represent recent time, then
it is possible that the device is not exporting NetFlow or PI Assurance license is not applied / expired.
2) Login to PI console ( via SSH) as root user and run the command:
netstat –an | grep 9991 – Output of this should be like : udp 0 0 :::9991 :::*
Check the firewall settings on PI server using the command: firewall -L
1) Check the configuration on an IOS / IOS –XE device. Run the commands
a) sh running-config | inc destination
1) This should list the IP address of the PI SERVER ( along with other outputs if any)
b) sh running-config | inc 9991
1) This should list at least one entry.
c) If the above are fine, then verify that the flow monitor, flow exporter and the flow records are correctly configured on the device.
Refer to the URLs below to configure NetFlow export.

Cisco Prime 1.3 and email alerts
I want to create some basic alarms on our infrastructure. I want to monitor only specific ports on specific switches. I do not want to monitor client ports, only uplinks to distribution/core and server ports. Is it possible to get alerts only from specific ports from specific switches ? If it is can you please tell me where exactly I have to look in the documentation of the PI.
Predrag PetrovicHi,
as far as I know, this is not possible.
We configured our core switches to send link-up-down events as traps to PI. With this configuration, we got alarms only for link-up-down events on our core switches. We could not restrict it to specific ports, but this worked for us.

Cisco Prime 2.1 and 2.2
I got Cisco 2.1 Prime runnig with around 65 devices, I want to upgrade to 2.2,Cisco said the I need to start from scratch to move into version 2.2.
I dont want to lost all my configurations from 2.1, I want to migrate from 2.1 to 2.2
My question is:
Can I have both servers running under the same VM Host? if yes
Did anybody has a tech link?
ThanksHi,
You need the 1 VM for each server.
First, to be safe-side, you can 2 backups of 2.1; in case one get corrupted & you'll have another one to use.
Secondly, just export the (DCR) device list to the a .csv file; this will help you when you won't be able to use any backup, you can go ahead import the device list into prime, & prime will then collects the new data from the start. But you'll do it easily by this instead to re-adding the devices again.

Cisco Prime v2.2 and Catalyst 6509 SNMP "time out"
Good afternoon,
I have PI v2.2 up and running and my v2.1 data restored. Went very smoothly. I have all my WLC's added and re-sync'd, but when I'm trying to re-sync my 6509s, I'm getting an SNMP Connectivity Failed.
It states that the possible cause could be "SNMP request timed out. Verify device credentials and SNMP response speed from device."
I have verified the SNMP credentials, and they are correct.
Any ideas/suggestions?
Thanks,
John L.Hi!
Same problem here! We upgraded to v2.2 and after that we have had difficulties with 6509 with IOS 12.2(33)SXJ7. Catalyst 6009 and 6506 are both ok. Only this one says " "SNMP request timed out. Verify device credentials and SNMP response speed from device."
We have checked SNMP credentials and increased time-out value to 20 with no effect.
Is this again a product which has not tested with older switches at all...?

Select IP Interfaces
The sub interfaces that we wish to monitor are displayed (with the above steps). However, when we try to select the interface to monitor, the sub interfaces do not appear:

We do not see the sub interfaces, only 2 interfaces are displayed. We do not see the interface GigabitEthernet4/7 at all. What are we missing here?i couldn't find the appropriate MIB to monitor the call session

Cisco Prime Infra 2.1 for Wireless and Wired Management
Hi All,
I've two CPI 2.1 physical appliances running in HA mode. Currently they are used to manage Wireless infrastructure.
Now, we are planning to buy licenses and add wired devices to CPI.
We've two separate teams. Team-A manages Wireless only and Team-B manages Wired infrastructure.
Both teams want their own Admin accounts to access CPI and they don't want to use shared credentials. If Team-A logsin with their Admin Account, they should see Cisco Prime Infrastructure dashboard and if Team-B logs in with their own Admin Account, they should see CiscoWorks LMS Dashbaord.
How can we achieve this? I can create user accounts and provide access to the CPI, but I'm not sure how to specify which dahsboard they will get access to.
Thanks,
CJYou should consider merging team doing wired & wireless, it is difficult to manage these individually.
By any chance if you deploy 3850/3650, it is both WLC & Switch, so managing by two different teams does not make sense.

Dear Cisco Team,
I would like to know what are the main facts to choose Cisco Prime NCS.
And how many kind of monitoring system are there in Cisco.
Best Regards,
Thet HtarHi Thet,
Cisco Prime Infrastructure simplifies the management of wireless and wired networks. It offers Day 0 and 1 provisioning, as well as Day N assurance from the branch to the data center. We call it One Management. With this single view and point of control, you can reap the benefits of One Management across both network and compute.
Prime Infrastructure enables you to configure and monitor one or more controllers, switches and associated access points. Prime Infrastructure includes the same configuration, performance monitoring, security, fault management, and accounting options used at the controller level and adds a graphical view of multiple controllers and managed access points.
Read the below link for more detail::
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/prime_infrastructure/1-2/configuration/guide/pi_12_cg/ovr.html
You can download it from here and use it under evaluation period for testing::

Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.3 to 2.1
I have a Cisco Prime Infrastructure version 1.3 virtual appliance and we have a new Prime Infrastructure version 2.1 virtual appliance set up. I would like to get the wireless information put into the new server. This includes the WLC and APs and then the campus maps and the location of each AP on the map Im not sure if the heat mapping is a feature of Prime or if I have to set that up too. But I would like the heat maps.
What would be the easiest way todo this? Are you logged in with a cisco.com (CCO ) userid? I just checked it and it works fine for me.
