Cisco Prime 2.0 - Nexus clients not discover

Dear all,
I've installed a Cisco Prime infrastructure 2.0 and it's working perfectly except for Nexus 7k : I canot see the wired client connected (useful for traking) while it's working fine on many other devices. The devices are managed with an inventoy collection completed (No data vailable in Device Details/ clients / current associated wired clients).
any idea ?

I have this problem too. I found this related information about supporting "clients and Users" for Nexus in PI2.x/LMS4.2.4.:

Nexus 7k and 5K in LMS 3.2.1. “When adding the Nexus devices to DCR, provide the “netadmin SNMP RO credential”. When other SNMP RO credential is provided, user tracking will not collect end host data. The Nexus device should be running NXOS 5.1(1), 5.1(3) or later. 5.1(2) is not supported.
Configure the device to map community with context using the below command: snmp-server context vrf, snmp-server mib community-map context
Please let us know what the progress is of the TAC case. I'm very interested.

    does anyone happen to know if that problem is fixed? My currently setup looks like this:
    1. Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1 with updated device pack.
    2. Assurance license
    3. ASA5510 which has enabled netflow. Netflow is being sent to Cisco Prime 2.1
    I do receive netflow raw data within Cisco Prime 2.1 but any graphical display of netflow data is not working. Does anybody has an idea where the problem is? Could it be that the graphical data is only displayed when sending netflow 1, netflow 5 or netflow 7?

    I want to download Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.2 OVA but I can't find it, there is just  "Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.2 Plug and Play for Virtual Appliance " . Is this the right OVA ?

    As an alternative, you can download PI 1.3 OVA, where you can find the same features and

    i've a problem in my Cisco prime Infraestructure, i've scheduled a IOS upgrade with a reload in the end, i forgot to permit in the equipment to do reloads from SNMP, and the question is all the job was done except the reload, bu in Jobs dashboard i still seeing that the job is in progress anda i can not abort the process.
    Anyone kows ow can i clean this job, from the job list, and why this happens?

    i've alreay added the snmp-server command.
    With Job i still have problems, qhen i try do abort the job i've the follwing error:
    "Selected jobs were not aborted. FAILURE : Exception occured while aborting the job : Job with job id 2752679 does not have any running cancellable tasks.-JOBM_042"
    The cancel option isn't enable.

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure Scheduled Configuration Archive not executing

    We have a deployment of Cisco Prime Infrastrcuture 1.3 (1.3.0.20).
    Configuration Archive is a feature that collects and archives the device configurations i.e. cisco switches.
    You have an option to schedule this to run, say daily, weekly etc. Once scheduled you can see it in the "Jobs Dashboard" and with the "next start time" of what you configured. I have a situation whereby  the time it is suppose to start - it doesnt - howevere flags the job as a "success". Not newe device configurations are archived and the "next start time" remain the same. Its almost like it is failing to execute, but some other process under the hood thinks that it was been executed correctly?
    Any ideas or experience that could help here would be appreciated!

    Some extra info that has just come to my attention.  At one point we were running (we're actually still running) CiscoWorks with LMS3.2 and Cisco NCS 1.x.  I merged these two things together into Cisco Prime Infrastructure (upgraded the licensing to get 450 lifecycle licenses to cover the APs + all of the devices coming from LMS3.2).  I followed all of the documented procedures to upgrade the NCS appliance to Prime Infrastructure.  But when I type "show application" from the CLI of the NCS appliance (now the Prime Infrastructure appliance) I see this:
    HQ-NCS1/admin# show application
    NCS             Cisco Prime Network Control System
    Is that normal?  Maybe this is my problem.  Should this output list "Cisco Prime Infrastructure" instead of (or in addtion to) Cisco Prime Network Control System?  When I login to the GUI it shows "Cisco Prime Infrastructure" and the GUI has changed considerably (menus are different) so I'm assuming that the application upgrades I launched from the CLI to go to Prime Infrastructure worked fine.

    From what you describe, it sounds like you have installed the Plug and Play (PNP) ova image. You need to install the Prime Infrastructure image.

  • Cisco Prime 1.3 applications dashboard not visible

    Dear all,
    I have added a flow exporter from 2 wlc 5508 in direction of our Cisco Prime, under system / data sources i see data from my controllers coming but status is down.
    Addtionally I cannot see under details dashboards the applications dashboard. even if i try to manage dashboards i cannot have applications.
    After checking our license with our reseller he said that we should have this netflow feature,
    But could you explain me why i cannot see the dashboards ?
    Do we need to install or configure a module ?

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1 to setup Discovered Devices in Dashboard Detail auto refresh in 3 minutes

    Hi all:
    I found out that the discovered devices (after successful scanning) in the main Dashboard Detail cannot or take very long time to auto-refreshing the status change.
    May I know is there any way by Command Line at the "Root" (I am using an OVA version) or by setting inside the Prime Infrastructure with GUI method to do scheduled Refreshing on the Dashboard Detail?

    I have tried using Designing Monitoring Template to set the Health Check Polling time from default 15 minutes to 5 minutes and also tried also 1 minute.
    The result is 5 minutes is working but 1 minute is not working.
    May I know any one can help on this?

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2 API not working

    Just upgraded to PI 2.2. API got error of "Access is denied to prime Infrastructure". Even assigned the user with 'Super Users' and 'NBI credential, NBI read, NBI', we still got denied error.
    We use Perl to access API. Any sample code for authentication and authorization in Perl? Now even URL of https://prime.nm.nd.edu/webacs/api/v1/data got denied error.

    PI 2.2 API changed authorization group for API access. We added "NBI Read" and "NBI Credential" to API user, and resolved the access issue.

  • Upgrading WCS 7 to Cisco Prime (CPI) 2

    I have read a few article and posts about upgrading WCS 7 to CPI 1.2 via NCS. However now with Prime 2.0 I was hopping I didn't have to use NCS.
    I can't find any migration guides or documents about migrating to 2.0 instead of 1.x.
    Can anyone point me in the right direction.

    Direct migration from WCS 7.x to Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 is NOT possible.
    in my work I had this problem.
    the only solution was to first install the NCS 1.1, after the patch 1.1.1.24 and then migrate to 2.0
    Backup WCS data , upgrade to NCS 1.1  and restore de data...
    install patch 1.1.1.24 , only then you can do the upgrade to version 2

    "We strongly recommend upgrading your WCS to 7.0.230.0 (for data integrity) or higher before attempting to migrate to NCS.
    Users will first need to do an intermediary migration to NCS 1.1.1.24, and then do an inline upgrade (or migration) to Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0"

    We having problem with Cisco Prime LMS running version 4.1.
    When open Home page shows the next message: "License Server/Daemon Manager is down. Please check license.log for more information." (see attached)
    The daemon server is stopped already and i can't restart it, see below:
    C:\>net start crmdmgtd
    The Cisco Prime Daemon Manager service is starting.
    The Cisco Prime Daemon Manager service could not be started.
    The service did not report an error.

    It looks like you're seeing CSCte49301.  Follow the release note steps to solve this:
    Symptom:
    The EssentialsDM daemon hangs in a Waiting to initialize state (as seen in the output of the pdshow command).  Additionally, one might see "Error connecting to JRM" in Resource Manager Essentials applications.
    Conditions:
    This occurs on Windows servers after the patch for KB968930 is installed, and only if the Windows Remote Management service was started prior to starting CiscoWorks Daemon Manager. 
    Workaround:
    Shutdown CiscoWorks Daemon Manager with the following command from the server's command prompt:
    net stop crmdmgtd
    Delete the following two files:
    NMSROOT\MDC\tomcat\webapps\rme\WEB-INF\lib\ctmregistry
    NMSROOT\MDC\tomcat\webapps\rme\WEB-INF\lib\ctmregistry.backup
    Restart CiscoWorks Daemon Manager with the following command:
    net start crmdmgtd
    If that does not work, then the Windows Remote Management service must be stopped, and disabled.  Then, CiscoWorks Daemon Manager must be restarted.

    I have Cisco Prime infrastructure 1.2 and when move to monitor >> clients tab it lists me all the clients in my network but their IP address list estates "not detected" ?

    Just an update that while this appears to have worked fairly well (as far as Cisco Management Planes go), there was one small 'gotcha' I've noticed so far:
    After the services came back up, the entries for our RADIUS servers did not function.  No, not because I didn't update the clients address record on the RADIUS server itself, but because the RADIUS server record(s) within CPI have a field called 'Local Interface IP' that still reflects the previous IP assigned to CPI.  A quick edit/save with the new interface fixes up the issue however.

    Hi ,
    Prime infrastructure uses MIB to collect the Mac address of the clients; this MIB collects
    the information per vlan.
    So we need to configure SNMP context for all vlans to view the wired client.
    Try configure SNMP context on devices , then delete and re-add the device and check the issue.
    For e.g:
    snmp-server group gcobergroup v3 auth context vlan-1
    snmp-server group gcobergroup v3 auth context vlan-71

  • Cisco nexus 6001 not a supported device on cisco prime infrastructure 2.1?

    I have installed Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2 and Prime Infrastructure still doesn't seem to support the Nexus 6001 platform? Can someone tell me if Cisco Prime Infrastructure will ever support the Cisco Nexus 6001 platform or is there any plans to support it in any future device packs? 

    The Nexus 6001 isn't currently supported in PI 2.1. There's no workaround except to wait for a device or product update that adds support. Right now I know the 9000 series is on the 2.2 roadmap but I haven't seen any reference to the 6001 and PI.
    Interestingly, Prime LMS does support both the 6001 and 6004. Reference.
