This patch is not intended to be installed from CLI. You have to update this from the GUI of Cisco Prime Infra.
To install this patch from GUI :
>> Log in to the Prime Infrastructure server using an ID with administrator privileges and choose Administration > Software Update .
>> Click Upload Update File and browse to the location where you saved the patch file. Click OK to upload the file.
>> When the upload is complete:
a. On the Software Upload page, confirm that the Name, Published Date and Description of the patch file are correct.
b. Select the patch file and click Install .
c. You will see a popup message indicating when the installation is complete. You should also see a listing for the patch in the “Updates” table, with a “Yes” opposite the patch under the “Installed” column, and a “Yes” under the “Pending Restart” column.
>> Restart the server by first executing the ncs stop command and then the ncs start command, as explained in Running Commands.
Step 7 Verify that the patch is installed by logging into the server and choosing Administration > Software Update . You should see a listing for the patch in the “Updates” table, with a “Yes” opposite the patch under the “Installed” column, and a “No” under the “Pending Restart” column.
For more details check the Release notes for PI 2.1.1.

Software Images page in Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2 broken after installing patches
Earlier today we installed PI 2.2.1 POODLE Fix ( 1.0.0 ) and PI 2.2.1 Maintenance Release ( 1.0.0 ) on CPI 2.2. After reloading we get status 404 when navigating to Inventory > Device Management > Software Images.
Also found this error in Developer tools in Chrome:

Cisco Prime Infrastructure patch 2.1.1 - installed or no?
I’ve reinstalled new Cisco Prime using the newest ISO image version 2.1.0.0.87. After that I installed the patch file (pi211_20140630_01.ubf) for version 2.1.1 and rebooted the server. After that I don’t see any information in CLI that I have version 2.1.1 installed. When I type sh ver I still see version 2.1.0.0.87. The only information which confirm this information is a “Software update” site in GUI interface where status of the patch is "Installed". Is this normal behavior?
Regards
LukasPatch installed through ubf not showing info in CLI and login page
CSCup78886
Description
Symptom:
After installing the "2.1.1" patch (filename pi211_20140630_01.ubf) for Prime Infrastructure 2.1.0.0.87 through the Administration > Software Update page and issuing an "ncs stop/ncs start" sequence from the CLI, the version information on the Prime Infrastructure login page, the CLI output of "show version" or Help > About pages does not indicate version 2.1.1.
Conditions:
Workaround:
At this time, there is no workaround. Please confirm proper patch installation on the Administration > Software Update page. Column "Installed' with the value "Yes" and column "Pending Restart" with the value "No" indicate that the 2.1.1 patch is indeed correctly installed.

Cisco Prime Infrastructure patch 2.1.1 - HA issue
Hello,
I have a problem with the Cisco Prime Infrastructure patched to version 2.1.1. I did exactly what Installation Guidelines say:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/net_mgmt/prime/infrastructure/2-1-1/release/notes/cpi_rn.html
– Install the Prime Infrastructure 2.1.1 patch by using the Administration > Software Updates page on the primary server.
– Restart the primary server.
– Verify that the patch installation is complete. If you find the installation complete, decommission and reinstall the secondary server and add it back to the primary server.
I reinstalled HA server and I'm trying to add it to HA but I get "Failed to authenticate - Primary(xx.xx.xx.xx) and Secondary(xx.xx.xx.xy) PI version does not match"
Can you help me with that? What I'm doing wrong? or maybe this patch is not prepared to work in HA mode?
RegardsSymptom:
The installation instructions of PI 2.1.1 patch in a High Availability environment are not accurate and following these steps will result in the inability to re-pair the Primary and Secondary servers.
Conditions:
If the instructions are followed, then when the user attempts to re-pair the servers, an error will be encountered:
"High Availability Registration Failed - Failed to authenticate - Primary (x.x.x.1) and Secondary (x.x.x.2) PI version does not match".
Instead, the following steps have proved to work correctly:
1. Upload and install patch on primary.
2. Upload and install patch on secondary.
3. Stop NCS services on secondary
4. Stop NCS services on primary
5. Start services on secondary
6. Start services on primary
7. Re-pair HA servers from primary
Workaround:
Workaround 1:
On the secondary, go under root and issue:
# cd /opt/CSCOlumos/bin/
# ./hamode.sh primary
Answer 'yes' when prompted.
Go to admin user and execute
# ncs stop
After the services are stopped:
# ncs start
When the services are back up, login to the secondary GUI as you would login to a primary server
Go under Administration > Software update, upload the patch and install it.
Go to admin user and execute
# ncs stop
After the services are stopped:
# ncs start
When the services are up, go under root and issue:
# cd /opt/CSCOlumos/bin/
# ./hamode.sh secondary
Answer 'yes' when prompted.
Go to admin user and execute
# ncs stop
After the services are stopped:
# ncs start
After the message that services started successfully on the secondary, initiate a new High Availability configuration from the primary. Now the synchronization between the two servers should succeed.
Workaround 2:
Redeploy or reinstall the Primary server, restore the backup which was taken prior to applying the patch, reconfigure the High Availability and continue with the steps described in the Conditions section.

Can i install Cisco prime infrastructure 1.3 with 1.1 license.
Can i install Cisco prime infrastructure 1.3 with 1.1 license. To be more precise it will be fresh installation
but the licenses I have is of 1.1.As per my overview from Cisco prime Infrastructure 1.2 NCS and NCS(WAN)
has been bundled into one service. But both were seperate entities in Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.1.It doesn't matter if you want to make a new installation or an upgrade. The questions is the license.
The base license is necessary for network management nodes (devices). But to get updates for your system you need the additional to your Base License the Lifecycle License (which can be ordered for 12, 24 or 36 months).
The Lifycycle License is also based on the number of managed devices. In your case 50 devices. So you have that License - congratulations!
Otherwise order the Lifecycle License for 50 devices (L-N-PI12-50-M). This generates CON-PSUU-PI12LF50 for 12 months, list price 414,81$. Then Upgrade from 1.1 to 1.2, patch the system and upgrade to 1.3.
Have fun,

Error coming while installing Cisco Prime 4.2 on Windows Server 2008 R2
Hi,
I'm trying to install Cisco Prime 4.2 on Windows Server 2008 R2. While initiating the installation, message box "Error: csv not found" appears, and the installation terminates.
Is there any csv template need to be copied at any location before hand? Are you installaing LMS 4.2.4 directly ?
Looking at the error ,it looks like ...
If yes then you need to follow the below path:
The installation path of LMS 4.2.4 : LMS 4.2 > LMS 4.2.2 > LMS 4.2.4
Thanks-

Install wildcard SSL on Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.4
I'm trying to install a wildcard SSL on a Cisco Prime Infrastrucure 1.4.
I've manage to install this certificate on the Cisco 5508 WLC, however not so much success with the Cisco Prime.
There are alot of documentation regarding the installtion of CSR certificates however I could not find anything related to wildcard or public key certificates from Cisco.
I did find the following from a NetBoyers, I've tried this process however this seems to apply for NCS versions prior to 1.4 as it was unsuccessful
Any assistance would be creatly appreciated.I was able to follow the procedure in the Admin Guide to successfully import and use a CA-issued wildcard certificate (from GoDaddy) with unencrypted private key where the original CSR was not generated by the Prime Infrastructure server.
Prime needs to be defined with a record in your DNS serving the domain in the wildcard certificate. In my case I am using both an A record and cname alias.
Following a server restart the wildcard certificate appears fine in Chrome, Firefox and IE when I browse to https://prime.<my_customer's_domain>.
Below are the commands I used. You would need to have your own certificate and keyfile. My certificate includes the full chain - server certificate, intermediate certificate and root certificate in that order.

How to install cisco prime 2.1 on a empty HP server
Hi all,
i want to install cisco prime 2.1 using the physical appliance ISO File on a new empty HP Server, because we have no vmware environment.
After booting from the ISO File I receive the error "connot find kickstart file on cdrom". Because of this I am not able to install the software.
I have loaded the ISO image two times from cisco, so im pretty shure that the images is not broken.
Any Idea?
Thanks! If you have control of an HP Server, why don't you load VMware into the server? PI requires VMware and can't be loaded onto a "bare metal" frame.

Rgds,
Rebecca
God bless u all!!Hi Rebecca,
Well....at least you're getting there
I believe you'd need glabaladmin for the UI as admin is for cli;
User Accounts
For Prime Collaboration, you will be required to specify various passwords at different instances. This section is designed to help you specify appropriate passwords in several scenarios that demand your login credentials (applicable for both converged application and standalone Prime Collaboration Assurance and Prime Collaboration Provisioning applications).
•globaladmin- A superuser who can access both Prime Collaboration Assurance and Prime Collaboration Provisioning UIs.
•globaladmin password- Specify this password when you configure your virtual appliance for either standalone or converged applications. See Configuring the Prime Collaboration Assurance Virtual Appliance and Configuring the Prime Collaboration Provisioning Virtual Appliance. You are also required to specify this password when you log in to the UI (see Password Rules for root User and globaladmin).
In Prime Collaboration Provisioning, this password is synched with the password of postgres admin (to perform backup and restore operations). The password is then updated in the database and in the /opt/cupm/sep/dfc.properties file. You must log in as a root user to access the dfc.properties file.
Note If you plan to install both Prime Collaboration Assurance and Prime Collaboration Provisioning, ensure that you specify the same password for both applications during installation.
•CLI Admin Username—The default username is admin. However, you can specify the username of your choice.
•CLI Admin Password—Specify a password for the SSH CLI admin. This password is used to log in to the CLI to check the application status and perform backup and restore (see Password Rules for CLI admin).
The CLI is supported only through SSH; Telnet is not supported. You can log in through SSH using port 26 for Assurance and port 22 for Provisioning.
•Root user—A superuser who has all privileges in Linux shell.
•Root password—Specify a password for the root user (see Password Rules for root User and globaladmin).
Password Rules for root User and globaladmin
•Must contain at least one of each: lowercase letter, uppercase letter, number, and special characters.
•No character in the password may be repeated more than three times consecutively.
•Cannot contain non-ASCII characters, %, +, and &.
•Cannot be cisco or ocsic or any variant obtained by changing the capitalization of letters therein, or by substituting 1,!, or | for i, substituting 0 for o, or substituting $ for s.
•Cannot be same as the username, and cannot be the username reversed.
•Must contain from 8 to 80 characters.
•Cannot end with these characters: *, ; or #.
Caution We recommend that you write down the root password, as it cannot be retrieved.
Note•To change the root password, you must log in as root user and execute the "passwd" command, which prompts you for a new password.
•If you are planning to integrate Provisioning and Assurance servers, make sure that you adhere to the Assurance-specific globaladmin password rules while setting up / creating the password for globaladmin in Provisioning.
Password Rules for CLI admin
•Must contain atleast six characters.
•Must contain at least one of each: lowercase letter, uppercase letter, and number.
•Must not be the same as the username itself.
Installation Prompts
We recommend that you find out the values beforehand for the following parameters, as you will be required to enter them at the console prompts when you configure the virtual appliance:
•IP address—The IP address of the virtual appliance. If you wish to change the IP address, see
•IP default netmask—The default subnet mask for the IP address
•IP default gateway—The IP address of the default gateway
•Default DNS domain—The default domain name
•Primary nameserver—The primary name server. You may add a name server. To configure several name servers, enter y.
•Primary NTP server[time.nist.gov]—The primary NTP server. To enter a secondary NTP server, enter y at the next prompt.
Note Prime Collaboration 9.5 supports three NTP servers. To configure a tertiary NTP server, enter y at the next prompt, after you specify a secondary NTP server.
•Timezone—The timestamp that is displayed on the UI is the server time. By default, the configured timezone is UTC. For a list of supported timezones, see Supported Timezones for Prime Collaboration. You must use the same timezone for Prime Collaboration Assurance and Prime Collaboration Provisioning servers in converged mode.
•Username—The CLI admin username. The default is admin. However, you can specify the username of your choice.
•Password—The CLI admin password. This password is used to log in to the CLI to check the application status and perform backup and restore.
•Root user—A superuser who has all privileges in Linux shell.
•Root password—Specify a password for the root user.
•globaladmin—A superuser of the application who has all privileges, and whose account used for initial login to the application (UI).
•globaladmin password—Specify a password for the globaladmin.
•Network deployment mode-Select the network deployment mode you need. Specify E for Enterprise Deployment or M for Managed Service Provider Deployment (E/M).

Cisco Prime Infra 2.1 Standard Install using OVA File HD Requirements
Hi guys,
I wanna install the Cisco Prime Infra Standard 2.1 using the OVA File but I haven't 900 HD Space continuous in Storage.
Two questions
01) The Virtual Machine allocate this space (900 HD) during the install or allocate dynamically as needed ?
02) There is a option to install the Standard Version using less HD space ?
Thanks
My Best Regards
Andre Gustavo LomonacoInitially we installed medium when Prime 2.0 came out, however about 3 months lately we needed to upgrade to standard/pro. Upgrading the CPU/Core was seamless
Install a smaller OVA with enough cpu/cores for the standard and just add disk space later on

Its not a recommended practice but there are work around... -

Hello,
we are trying to install certificates from our CA on our Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.2
What we get from our colleagues is a file in .pfx format, containing an exportable key and the whole certificate chain.
On the prime server, using openssl 0.9.8, we exportet the key and converted the file to .pem.
When trying to install the certificate, we get the following error code:
prime# ncs key importkey key-nopw.pem newcert.pem repository certificate
INFO: no staging url defined, using local space. rval:2
ERROR: dowload of key-nopw.pem failed. rval:-200
Does anyone have an idea what formats can be used for prime ssl certificates and how to install them?
The official guide has only little information on how to make a csr and install the certificate.

Hi gurus, We got two DEV systems ("DEV old", "DEV new"). Basically "DEV new" is the copy of "DEV old". They copied the system about 3 months ago. During this period of time, we still developed on "DEV old". Now we were told to move to "DEV new". They
