Cisco Prime Collaboraiton Standard Licenses

Dear Team,
I have a customer purchased Cisco CUWL PRO & Enhanced Licenses for 10,000 Users for Unified CM version 8.0 and now he is asking for upgrade to version 10.5. The question is :
1-since he did reinstatement for different type of licenses and already has the order, Should the customer entitle Cisco Prime Collaboration licenses by default or he has to purchase them separately?
2-Does the customer going to receive Cisco Prime Collaboration Standard (Porvisioning and Assurance only) ?, If so for How many license Users it comes by default?. If less than 10000 ,then how to order the remaining?.
Thanks in advance
Regards,

Prime collaboration standard is free and does not require any licenses. Advanced license is separate from any UC user licenses:
Cisco Prime Collaboration Packaging: Standard and Advanced Options
Beginning with version 10.0, Cisco Prime Collaboration is provided in two different offerings. Cisco Prime Collaboration Standard is included with all Cisco Unified Workspace Licensing and Cisco User Connect Licensing, and Cisco Prime Collaboration Advanced is available for upgrade. The Standard option is only available and compatible with Cisco UC 10.0. The Advanced option supports Cisco UC 8.x - UC 10.x. The Standard option enables provisioning of all voice and video services purchased and fault monitoring across voice and video for a single cluster environment. For deployments that require more advanced management, Cisco Prime Collaboration Advanced offers multi-cluster scale, additional automation, deeper diagnostic capabilities, and long-term reporting. This order guide addresses Cisco Prime Collaboration Advanced only.
Customers who are interested in Cisco Prime Collaboration Advanced may activate the “Advanced Evaluation” from within the Prime Collaboration Standard GUI, for a 60 day term, or may purchase a permanent Cisco Prime Collaboration Advanced. For more information about license installation, please refer to the Cisco Prime Collaboration Quick Start Guide 10.0 posted on Cisco.com under ‘Install and Upgrade Guides.

  • Cisco Prime NCS appliance & license

    Hi all,
I'm looking for getting a Cisco prime NCS appliance (PRIME-NCS-APL-K9). I'm a little bit confused regarding to the license scheme:
    1. Does the appliance has any license coming with it or we need to order the license separately?
    2. If I have an WLC 5508 (license support 12 APs) & 12 3500 APs, then number of devices counted will be 1 (WLC) or 12 (APs) or 13 (WLC + APs) ?
    Thanks for the help,

Cisco Prime Infrastructure for the  first time you may access the lifecycle and assurance features using the  built-in evaluation license that is available by default. The default evaluation  license is valid for 60 days for 100 devices and 150 interfaces. You will need  to purchase the base license and the corresponding feature license before the  evaluation license expires. Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.2 can be ordered using  the standard Cisco® ordering tools at http://www.cisco.com/go/ordering. More information about getting the  license files can be found in the Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.2 Ordering and  Licensing Guide

  • Cisco Prime 1.2 Licensing question

    Hi all,
I am try to design a wireless solution where we will use WLC, MSE, ACS and we want to hace map location of the ap.
It is a new solution, no a upgrading
For the use of map and location in Cisco Prime wich license is required?, just with the lifecycle can i do?
This solution is for a 120 ap´s, i list the license what i think that i need
    R-PI12-K9
    R-PI12-BASE-K9
    L-PI12-LF-100
    L-PI12-LF-50
    I hope be clear
    Regards,
    Sebastian

I beleive that with life cycle you should be able to do maps, although you will obviously need a base as well.
Also, I don't beleive that you can get ACS anymore, so you will be looking at ISE instead.

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Express, licensing

Are there any funcionatility limitation between each edition of the Cisco Prime Infrastructure other than supported number of devices?
Does it support turning APs on and off on a predefined scheduled?
I read in the manual "Cisco Prime Infrastructure Classic View Configuration Guide for Wireless Devices" that it is possible to Managing WLAN Status Schedules.  Does it require the assurance license feature set or will lifecycle license will be sufficient?

I believe you could create a scheduled Lightweight AP Configuration Template job and have it simply turn off the radios on the selected APs. Make it recurring (every night at a certain time) and add a complementary recurring job to turn the radios back on at the desired time.

  • Cisco Prime upgrade (Standard to Pro)

    Hello
Can anyone help answer a query we have regarding an upgrade we need to do on Prime Infrastructure, PI.
We are running PI version 1.3 on VMware in a standard deployment.
We want to upgrade to a Pro deployment.
My understanding is that the only difference between standard and Pro, is that additional VMware resources are needed.
On the software download site, there is a separate OVA image for Pro, however there is also a Prime 2.1 upgrade installer image.
Can an existing VMware Prime be upgraded to Pro by increasing the VMware resources and running the upgrade image or does it need a clean install
    Thanks
    Martyn

You can do a restore on the new VM if you want. I typically have not and I would export the maps from the old version, add the WLC's to the new PI and then import the maps. You can then repost licenses if your running PI 2.1 or earlier. PI 2.2 will take your original license from PI 2.0 & PI 2.1.  You would just need to download the license again or open a TAC case to obtain them.

  • Cisco Prime Infra 2.1 Standard Install using OVA File HD Requirements

       Hi guys,
I wanna install the Cisco Prime Infra Standard 2.1 using the OVA File but I haven't 900 HD Space continuous in Storage.
       Two questions
           01) The Virtual Machine allocate this space (900 HD) during the install or allocate dynamically as needed ?
           02) There is a option to install the Standard Version using less HD space ?
          Thanks
          My Best Regards
          Andre Gustavo Lomonaco

Initially we installed medium when Prime 2.0 came out, however about 3 months lately we needed to upgrade to standard/pro.  Upgrading the CPU/Core was seamless
Install a smaller OVA with enough cpu/cores for the standard and just add disk space later on
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/9871606/adding-disk-space-prime-infrastructure
Its not a recommended practice but there are work around...

  • Cisco Prime Collaboration Deployment with BE7K and VMWare license

Hello, I am looking for some help trying to figure out if Cisco Prime Collaboration Deployment can be used to upgrade our existing 7.1.5 cluster.  From what I have read there is a API problem with the VMWare license that comes with the BE7K.  But after reviewing the BOM/quote from my VAR it lists the foundation license which based of the release notes is supported.
    UCSS-U-VMW-FND-5-1
UCSS Cisco UC Virt. Foundation  Five Year - 1 server
Has anybody out there had expericne with PCD and BE7K'?
This is from release notes of PCD
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/rel_notes/10_5_1/CUCM_BK_P139675A_00_pcd-rns-1051/CUCM_BK_P139675A_00_pcd-rns-1051_chapter_010.html
Search for “Business Edition 7000” and it will state it is not supported with PCD.  It is because the licenses that the BE 6k and 7K are shipped with don’t enable certain VMware APIs that PCD needs.
    “Virtualization Software License Compatibility
Cisco Prime Collaboration Deployment is not compatible with all license types of VMware vSphere ESXi, as some licenses do not enable required VMware APIs.
The following are compatible with Cisco Prime Collaboration Deployment:
Cisco UC Virtualization Foundation (appears as "Foundation Edition" in vSphere Client)
VMware vSphere Standard Edition, Enterprise Edition, or Enterprise Plus Edition
    Evaluation mode license
The following are not compatible with Cisco Prime Collaboration Deployment:
Cisco UC Virtualization Hypervisor (appears as "Hypervisor Edition" in vSphere Client)-preloaded on Cisco Business Edition 6000 and Business Edition 7000
    VMware vSphere Hypervisor Edition
    Any help would be appreacted.

Thanks Jamie for repsonding, we haven't made any purchase's yet but I wanted to ensure we are purchasing a solution that won't lead to a lot of frustration.  We only have 1000 phones so we are pretty small and the BE7K seems to be a good fit and value.

  • Cisco Prime NCS 1.3 Licensing issue

    Hello,
I am installing Cisco prime NCS x 2 servers. I downloaded the licenses which are ordered allong with the devices as follows.
    Product Name                : L-PI12-LF-50-LIC
        Product Description         : L-PI12-LF-50-LIC:Prime Infrastructure 1.2 - Lifecycle - 50 Device Lic PAK
        Product Qty                 : 1
        UDI                        : PID: PRIME-NCS-APL-K9
The issue is, the NCS appliance was not started properly and then I used the CD which came along with the server (NCS 1.3). Now my system is up and running but it is NCS 1.3 and when i upload the licenses, it shows that the UID is not matching with the system. Is this because the licenses are issued for NCS 1.2 and my system runs on 1.3? If so, what do you suggest, do i need to download NCS 1.2, install it, add the license and then upgrade to 1.3?
    Thanks for your advise,
    Regards
    Jay

  • CISCO PRIME INFRA 1.1 License

Hai Recently, we are installing cisco Prime NCS 1.1  and we are facing some issue for License.
I would like to clarrify the below licneses.
    L-WCS-NCS1-M-K9
    L-PINCS11-300-U
      L-PINCSW11-300-U
We installed the second licnese and got 300 device limit. But we have 500 access points in our network. We are using NCS only for Wireless Management and not for Network Devices which is using LMS .
I am confused, we have additional 2 more licenses as above and why is that for??? can any one let me know these!!! Y we are using WCS-NCS license and it is having lonly 25 device limit support , which we cannot import since i already upload the second licnes. Also y this L-PINCSW11-300-u WAN license used for????

You can always remove the license if you installed the wrong license....You need to install your base first then your adder.  You don't need to use the LMS or WAN as this comes free with NCS 1.1.  The WCS to NCS migration comes with a free 25 ap base license.  You just need to make sure you have purchased the correct license to cover your 500 ap count.
Here is another thread regarding the license:

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.2 licensing

I have a customer that is running CiscoWorks 3.2 and they also have NCS 1.1 (upgraded from WCS 7.0).  They have found that it costs way more to upgrade CiscoWorks to Cisco Prime Infrastructure than it would be to just buy licenses after they finish upgrading NCS to Cisco Prime 1.2.
The main question about Cisco Prime 1.2 is how the licensing works, we need to know if the licensing will work the same as it did for CiscoWorks where they only needed one license for a full stack of switches.  They believe that Prime 1.2 will require a license for each switch in the stack, which will cause them to buy several more licenses than what they feel they can afford.
If anyone knows how the licensing works, it would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Have you gone through the below link
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/cloud-systems-management/prime-infrastructure/guide_c07-714720.html

  • Can i install Cisco prime infrastructure 1.3 with 1.1 license.

Can i install Cisco prime infrastructure 1.3 with 1.1 license. To be more precise it will be fresh installation
but the licenses I have is of 1.1.As per my overview from Cisco prime Infrastructure 1.2 NCS and NCS(WAN)
has been bundled into one service. But both were seperate entities in Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.1.

It doesn't matter if you want to make a new installation or an upgrade. The questions is the license.
The base license is necessary for network management nodes (devices). But to get updates for your system you need the additional to your Base License the Lifecycle License (which can be ordered for 12, 24 or 36 months).
The Lifycycle License is also based on the number of managed devices. In your case 50 devices. So you have that License - congratulations!
Otherwise order the Lifecycle License for 50 devices (L-N-PI12-50-M). This generates CON-PSUU-PI12LF50 for 12 months, list price 414,81$. Then Upgrade from 1.1 to 1.2, patch the system and upgrade to 1.3.
    Have fun,
    Chris

  • Cisco prime license confusion

Hi I have installed cisco prime 1.2 to manage router, AP, controller, switch and ISE
and I am confused wiht license
    I have this 3 item
    1. L-PILMS42-100
    2. L-PINCSW11-100
    3. L-PINCS11-100
I have already genereted and added item 3 on prime and it work
I gererated item 1 but I cannont add it on cisco prime, he dont reconnize the file
I am unnable to add my ISE on cisco prime
Do I need special licence fro ISE
Do I need to add the 3 license
    Please advise

Do you want to use Prime Infrastructure or Prime LMS to manage the Catalyst 2960 switches? In either case it is possible - simply add the devices manually or discover them. Procedure for PI is here. Procedure for LMS is here.
The ISE appliances are not manageable in any but the most basic sense as they are not a supported Cisco device (for either Prime Infrastructure or Prime LMS) and will be seen the same as a generic non-Cisco deivce. i.e., only SNMP polling and traps (and, with LMS, potentially syslog data).

  • Problem with implementing license in Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2

    Goodday,
For Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2 I downloaded an license from the license portal.
This concerns a eval/demo license, for an demo of Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2.
When selecting the the type of license you get a few options, from which I selected the basic, advanced and lifecycle evaluation licenses. This is the type of license that is required for our demo.
After completing the wizard I can download en implement the license.
Until this point everything goes as it supposed to be.
When i go to the Prime Infrastructure 2.2 appliance (running on VMWare ESXi 5.5.0).
When I go to the license section in Cisco Prime Infrastructure I can implement the license, however if I implement the .lic file I get the error “Unknown feature (PI_VM)”.
I have done implementing license files before, but this is the first time i encounterd this problem.
Who can help me with this error?
    Regards,
    Dennie Verhoeven

    Hi Dennie,
PI2X-BASE-LF-AS-US-VM-N-EVAL-90   >> I think you have used this product name while generating the license
Either you try generating a new license or  contact cisco license team to generate a new license
with the information  like below ::
    Product Name                : R-PI2X-K9
        Product Description         : R-PI2X-K9:R-PI2X-K9 : Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.x
        Product Qty                 : 1
        UDI                        : PID: PRIME-NCS-VAPL  SN: ANY:ANY
Serial no : with ANY:ANY will work as  starting from PI 2.2 , there is no node locking with license.
    Thanks-
    Afroz

  • Cisco Prime Licensing

    Hello,
We are trying to design a wireless solutions in our infrastructure and we would like to implement WCS as well.
As I have seen, this has changed to Cisco Prime.
However in my understanding, Cisco Prime is a mixture of LMS, CSM, WCS, QPM, NAM and a lot more.
What is the minimum license we need to obtain to get the WCS flavor of Prime?
Is there a wireless only with ISE integration license file?
    Regards,
    Nicos

The Prime Infrastructure offering that most closely maps to old WCS/NCS capabilities is achieved with Base plus Lifecycle license.
Please see the Ordering and Licensing Guide for more details.

  • Cisco Prime LMS 4.1, "License Server/Daemon Manager is down."

    Hello,
We having problem with Cisco Prime LMS running version 4.1.
When open Home page shows the next message: "License Server/Daemon Manager is down. Please check license.log for more information." (see attached)
The daemon server is stopped already and i can't restart it, see below:
    C:\>net start crmdmgtd
The Cisco Prime Daemon Manager service is starting.
The Cisco Prime Daemon Manager service could not be started.
The service did not report an error.
More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 3534.
    Thanks

It looks like you're seeing CSCte49301.  Follow the release note steps to solve this:
    Symptom:
The EssentialsDM daemon hangs in a Waiting to initialize state (as seen in the output of the pdshow command).  Additionally, one might see "Error connecting to JRM" in Resource Manager Essentials applications.
    Conditions:
This occurs on Windows servers after the patch for KB968930 is installed, and only if the Windows Remote Management service was started prior to starting CiscoWorks Daemon Manager.
    Workaround:
Shutdown CiscoWorks Daemon Manager with the following command from the server's command prompt:
    net stop crmdmgtd
    Delete the following two files:
    NMSROOT\MDC\tomcat\webapps\rme\WEB-INF\lib\ctmregistry
    NMSROOT\MDC\tomcat\webapps\rme\WEB-INF\lib\ctmregistry.backup
Restart CiscoWorks Daemon Manager with the following command:
    net start crmdmgtd
If that does not work, then the Windows Remote Management service must be stopped, and disabled.  Then, CiscoWorks Daemon Manager must be restarted.
