Dears,
we will purchase Cisco prime infrastructure, i need to know if it is usefull and if it has problems or not? coz we purchaedLMS from 2 years and it is hanging all the time.

I had the same mapping issues you're talking about. I fixed it by going into the main maps summary screen and choosing export from the drop down in the top right. If you export the maps and then reimport them the zoom level is fixed. I'd try this on one map first to make sure everything looks okay and then you can do multiple maps and or buildings at a time. I had all 100+ maps of ours updated in an hour or so doing this and all the AP locations were still fine. Make sure you log in to Prime using root so you can export/import using the XML option.

Cisco Prime 2.1 problem with API/Client

Hi,
im having a problem with the API output i get from Cisco Prime Infrastructure. The URL im trying to GET info from is:
https://<URL>/webacs/api/v1/data/Clients
The output shows that im missing data from a specific ID. Example:

Any idea how to solve this issue, how can i find the client that is causing this problem? In my script im reading all the clients in the network to a third party application. But right now its hard to get this output in a smart way. It might be resolved in 2.2, but it feels like the data i corrupt in some way so i doubt that this error is related to the version?

I have also run into this problem on two different Prime 2.1-systems when trying to get all Client-data available. I haven't figured out a way to fix it more than making small calls (.maxResults=100) then trying to pin-point and skip the ID giving the error. I've been using 2.2 for a while now but haven't tested the Client-API that much yet. I'll experiment some more on it and see if I can recreate the problem to see if it's related to the version.

Problem with implementing license in Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2

Goodday,
For Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2 I downloaded an license from the license portal.
This concerns a eval/demo license, for an demo of Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2.
When selecting the the type of license you get a few options, from which I selected the basic, advanced and lifecycle evaluation licenses. This is the type of license that is required for our demo.
After completing the wizard I can download en implement the license.
Until this point everything goes as it supposed to be.
When i go to the Prime Infrastructure 2.2 appliance (running on VMWare ESXi 5.5.0).
When I go to the license section in Cisco Prime Infrastructure I can implement the license, however if I implement the .lic file I get the error “Unknown feature (PI_VM)”.
I have done implementing license files before, but this is the first time i encounterd this problem.
Who can help me with this error?

Either you try generating a new license or contact cisco license team to generate a new license
with the information like below ::

Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 and ASA 55xx platform problem

We recently upgraded to Prime Infrastructure 2.0 with the hope being able to manage our ASA's from PRIME (and complete an LMS migration).
When I attempt to add ASA's to prime i get the following collection errors:
Unable to collect processor and RAM information.          Processor and RAM information.          Unexpected error. See the log file inventory.log for details.
In the logfile I get the following XML parsing error on the MIB:

To me it seems that the ASA returns a value that is bigger then int32 and thus causes an overflow? Any clues? Workarounds to add an ASA to Prime without checking these MIB'S?

does anyone happen to know if that problem is fixed? My currently setup looks like this:
1. Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1 with updated device pack.
2. Assurance license
3. ASA5510 which has enabled netflow. Netflow is being sent to Cisco Prime 2.1
I do receive netflow raw data within Cisco Prime 2.1 but any graphical display of netflow data is not working. Does anybody has an idea where the problem is? Could it be that the graphical data is only displayed when sending netflow 1, netflow 5 or netflow 7?

Cisco Prime Unified Operations Manager 9.0, "Service Level View" problem.

Hello to all.
Hope this mail finds all of you well.
I have a problem with a CUOM Prime 9.0.
The customer's infrastracture is a cluster CUCM (VM), 9.1.2.
The CUCM cluster is up and running and all the cisco devices can be discovered.
The customer wants to use a Cisco Prime Unified Operations Manager 9.0 in order to monitor all the Cisco devices.
Also, in the CUOM server have been installed the browser "I.E 8.0" and the browser "Firefox Mozila" (Firefox Setup 10.0.5esr).
The problem that I faced is that the page "Service Level View" can not be displayed.
When I try to use the "Internet Explorer" the loading bar is being displayed, but can not be completed.
When I try to use the "Firefox Mozila" a message is being displayed and prompt me to install the last Flash Player,
which is already installed.
Can anybody help me on that problem?

Finally, the solution of the problem was:
1-stop the daemon manager “net stop crmdmgtd”
2- Delete the xml files available under(please take backup from them) :
CSCOpx\objects\sir\work
CSCOpx\objects\topo\work
3-Start the daemon manager net start crmdmgtd (wait for 20 minutes until all process are up )

Problem Exporting Backups from Cisco Prime LMS 4.2 deployed as software appliance

I'm trying to backup a Cisco Prime LMS4.2 based on soft appliance. I have the backup stored on destination disk://localdisk/backup/, but i can't export it via FTP to external server. When I perfrom the transfer only the folder is stored in the destination path, the files aren't included. I think that i have to compress files on the backup folder as .tar file using linux shell, but i can´t find the backup folder from this shell.
It´s correct my procedure, if not What is the procedure and commands to export a backup to external server via FTP?

Hi Dave,
If your Goal is to upgarde the IOS of the devices via LMS then MANUALLY download the IOS Image from cisco.com
and use the FILE SYSTEM option to add the Image in the Software Repository
Then try to upgrade the IOS and see how it works.

Replicate in the Master controller and creation of new user with cisco prime infrastructure 2.1.

We have multiple controllers Cisco WLC 5508 (all running software version 7.6.120.0) distributed in various buildings and a controller in other control building (also Cisco WLC 7.6.120.0 5508) operating as Master and backup of the buildings's controllers .
Each building is radiated such an SSID that is used as a validation of the user connected to that SSID web portal each controller (in the WLAN, Security -> Layer 3 -> Web Policy), using the local database to validate the user.
The problem is that the local database of users is not being replicated between controllers buildings and the Master controller, so if you drop the controller of a building, the Master controller begins to provide service to the buildings access points, but the equivalent radiated SSID cannot able to validate users.
I need know if it's possible through Cisco Prime Infrastruture 2.1, first replicate in the Master controller on the basis of existing controllers buildings each local data and, second, that the creation of new users are automatically perform both the controllers like to the Master .

As noted earlier, it is not advisable to use the root user to log in for normal use. New users and groups can be created by navigating to Administration > Users, Roles & AAA as shown in the preceding figures. It would help to chalk out what are the various levels at which you want to distribute the users, and to create those roles first. It doesn’t really matter whether you create users or groups first. New users can be easily added by going to Administration > Users, Roles & AAA > Users > Add Users > Select “Add Users” from the drop-down on the right side. Once you get into the add user workflow, fill in the username, password, and local authorization for this user as shown in the figure below.
A virtual domain can also be assigned to the users when you define their roles by selecting the virtual domain on the left side and moving it to the right side as shown in the image below (left).

Cisco Prime Collaboration Assurance IPPhone 3901 no serial number report

I have installed Cisco Prime Collaboration Assurance in my office and try to create phone inventory report , so far no problem , but when i add IPPhone 3901 there no serial number in the report , I have enable web access on the phone , i can see the serial number by click the IP .

Cisco Prime Collaboration Deployment with BE7K and VMWare license

Hello, I am looking for some help trying to figure out if Cisco Prime Collaboration Deployment can be used to upgrade our existing 7.1.5 cluster. From what I have read there is a API problem with the VMWare license that comes with the BE7K. But after reviewing the BOM/quote from my VAR it lists the foundation license which based of the release notes is supported.

Has anybody out there had expericne with PCD and BE7K'?

Search for “Business Edition 7000” and it will state it is not supported with PCD. It is because the licenses that the BE 6k and 7K are shipped with don’t enable certain VMware APIs that PCD needs.

Can't import images in cisco prime infrastructure 1.2

- Any job , trying to import images, in my cisco prime infrastructure fails with :

Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 and Cisco ASA

We've recently installed trial version of Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 Express. We hoped that it already supports Cisco ASA 55xx series (especially 5505, we have pretty amount of them). But we had some problems with PI and asa durind the exploitation process.
First, I've added ASA to PI, and Inventory Collection Status is Completed, but I can't see CPU and RAM utilization graphs. Inventory.logs are non-informative.
Also, config backup is success, but when I try to watch the backuped configuration at Configuration Archive PI says "Failed to fetch raw configuration". And so on.
ASA version is 5505, image is 9.1(2).
So, I have a question: is it possible to manage ASAs with PI 2.0?
UPD: I've just tried to upgrade asa to 9.1(4), and behavior of the equipment is quite the same. Seems we shall wait for 9.2 to be released.

Have you downloaded and applied the latest Device Pack updates?
PI enhanced ASA support after the initial 2.0 release and the Device Packs incorporate that change.
The README file for Device Packs explains how to install them. (A bug currently does not allow the direct download in PI so you need to follow the method for installation from local storage after you manually download. Here is a link to the download location.

Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.2 on Windows Server/Hyper-V

In Entriprise environment while designing a BYOD solution we need to integrate ISE3315 with CPI 1.2. I know that Cisco ISE software either runs on 3315 platform or other option is virtual appliance (which is VMware based). Now problem is that we have Hyper-V environment as standard so I need to go with ISE-3315. Here my concern is to I install CPI 1.2 on Hyper-V, or on a Windows Server (2008 or 2012) based machine. Is that doable?
Any help, suggessions would be warmly welcomed.

Cisco Prime LMS will slowly be phased out in favor of Cisco Prime Infrastructure and hence there are no new mainline releases are planned to provide support to new Hardware or virtualization support.
However, Prime LMS do support Hyper V Virtualization (As an installable in Windows 2008). Please note that Virtualization technologies like, VMWare and Hyper V virtualization systems are not supported in LMS 5000, and LMS 10000 Devices license, in Windows. VMWare Systems are supported in LMS 5000, and LMS 10000 Devices license in Soft Appliance. Virtualization technologies like, VMWare and Hyper V virtualization systems are not supported in LMS 5000, and LMS 10000 Devices license, in Windows. VMWare Systems are supported in LMS 5000, and LMS 10000 Devices license in Soft Appliance.

I have setup Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 and, though I have added manually my 4 network cores as devices without any problem, I can't get a single trap or a single SNMP information to be pushed into my Cisco Prime Infra.

Basically all traps are enabled but absolutely nothing is showing up in my Prime Infra except that my 4 devices are "Reachable".

Hi Jeremy,
SNMP traps are shown in the events and alerts section of PI.
SNMP config looks fine. Can you run the SNMP debug (debug snmp packets ) .check the logs and see if the device is actually sending the TRAPS to the PI server.

Cisco Prime 2.1 HA and NFS backup

Hi,
I've just configured my Cisco Prime with the external NFS backup server using instruction from the Administration Guide,

all works fine but I'm wondering what about HA server? Should I configure all the same steps I did on a primary server?

No, this instruction is for how to configure backup server and how to configure Cisco Prime to be able to use NFS for backup files. It works, I did this and there was no problem during the configuration. The only thing I'm wondering is that I did this on the primary Cisco Prime and not on the HA CP server. So what will hempen if the primary fail and the HA switch over as a primary? Should I configure the same repository on it, should I enable NFS on the HA server also?

i am currently try to explore cisco prime Infra 1.3 and facing some problem.
1 : i have set the admin password at startup config but this password is not working(i am pretty sure that i have enter the same password)
2: Can i change the prime lan infra clock setting from it,s GUI
3: i am not able to see the end client assosiate to a cisco switch(C3750 )
4: i want to know can i use cisco infra to monitor broadcast on a switch port level.(suppose switch 1's port 10 client making broadcast ,can i monitor that)
is there is any training videos avialable for cisco prime infra 1.2/1.3 .
What else we can do at monitor level with the help of cisco prime infra 1.3
