Cisco Prime Reports

Hi
I am new to cisco Prime infrastructure, want to understand the generation of the reports in report launch pad.
I have followed procedure as per the document, Report launch pad-->Report Type-->New
Need clarification on fields
Report Title- Report title should be suffixed with Virtual DomainName, can we mention the report title without any domain name and what difference does it make.
Connection Protocol-- I am unable to find the connection protocol field
Scheduling - How the scheduling will be done, based on the reporting period
Export Format- Default file locaion, where exactly it will be, how to find it.
Destination- can we extract report without marking the destination
Please help!

Wireless Network Utilization
This report shows the overall network utilization based on the aggregated port utilization of all controllers in your network. These statistics can help identify current network performance and help with capacity planning for future scalability needs.
Note Average utilization (%) is the percentage of utilization where utilization is calculated as ((Tx+Rx)/bandwidth).

I have installed Cisco prime infrastructure 2.2 and configured it.

Your layer 2 switches won't give you much of anything as far as traffic per VLAN as they do not have any interface to report against. The router (or layer 3 switch) which is the gateway for your VLANs can be queried to show the traffic for the Layer 3 Switch Virtual Interface (SVI). That shows up like any other interface in the performance reports.
I'm not sure what you mean by "per vlan session". Can you explain (preferably with an example of how you would do that from command line)?

Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.3 - reports

Hi all,
I am curious if anybody can help me with Cisco Prime reports. What I want to do is to create report of all my devices which will have information such as hostname, IP adress, . . . , an serial number. I found this task almost inpossible... When I look at the device work center tab and click on one of my devices I can see alll of the information I want (so good so far all infromation are available..but..)When I want to create such a report from all of devices in report section I pick up Detail Device Inventory and customize report which I want. Problem appears after report is done. The main ifnormation such as hostname, location an IP adress are in the first part of report and in the second part there are chassis information with serial number and other fields. But these two parts of report dont have any common field so it is impossible for me to match serial number to hostname..So if I dont want to click on every device in device work center and write down all of information I dont know how to do such a simple task...
I hope someone is able to follow my thoughts

If you create a separate service rule, you can have it fork TACACS authentication requests from that specific IP to a different Service identity and authorization process, where you can tell it to select a specific shell profile. Then all you have to do is create a separate shell profile for managing Prime and have that one selected. We do this with our UCS dvices, regular router/switch CLI logins, etc.
So for example:
UCS: TACACS request --> if match service selection rule "from UCS devices", go to UCS admin access policy --> if match ucs admin identiy reqirements, give UCS admin shell profile
PI: TACACS request --> if match service selection rule "from PI devices", go to PI admin access policy --> if match PI admin identiy reqirements (which are same as UCS), give PI admin shell profile
Default: TACACS request --> if match tacacs protocol from our IP range, go to default device admin policy --> if match defaul identy requirements, give default admin shell profile

Cisco Prime Rogue AP Report - No Rogues from 3702 Series AP's

I am running Cisco Prime Infrastructure (2.1) that manages a Cisco 5508 WLC (7.6). We have multiple version of AP's managed by this WLC to include 1142, 2602, 3702, etc...In Cisco prime when we run a Rogue AP Report. None of the Rogue AP's discovered by 3702's are displayed in the report. The Rogues show on the WLC though from all AP's. Cannot find a reason for this. Any ideas?

The Rogue alarm state always stays on "removed" once deleted

Once one of the alarm of rogue AP is deleted the newer rogue AP alarm changed to removed state even for different mac address.
Because of the removed state the detecting AP which detected the rogue is not displayed
Conditions:
1) Auto SPT is turned on
2) Prime 2.0 or 2.1
Workaround:
Click on refresh from network for each alarm in removed state or disable auto spt

Cisco Prime Collaboration Assurance IPPhone 3901 no serial number report

Hi All,
I have installed Cisco Prime Collaboration Assurance in my office and try to create phone inventory report , so far no problem , but when i add IPPhone 3901 there no serial number in the report , I have enable web access on the phone , i can see the serial number by click the IP .
any help ?

How can I get CDP neighbor information from access point reports in Cisco Prime 2.0? I have looked through all the reports and I cannot find a report that gives me the CDP neighbor information of an access point. I thought that information was in there, however I cannot seem to find it.

You can get this from an inventory report in PI (Select Report Type AP). Here is an example of PI 2.1 works for me. Once you export this into excel you can sort based on controllers & filter the single controller connected AP you want.

Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1 Not generating reports

Dears,
I am new to Cisco Prime. I installed Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1 for 60-days evaluation and i added routers, switches and APs. I configured SNMP community and telnet credentials. I can see clients on Dashboard, but when i go to reports and generate them for last hour, it displays "None Detected".
Please advise.

"Busiest Clients" report template on Cisco Prime & Aironet 1242AG

Yesterday I was trying to schedule a "Busiest Clients" report on our Cisco Prime physical appliance (PRIME-NCS-APL-K9, v2.1.0.0.87).
My goal was to monitor the busiest clients on a couple of old Aironet access-points. These APs have been installed in a branch office of our university that rely on 4 Mb/s SHDSL WAN connectivity and, as you might imagine, some saturation occurs when the classrooms are crowded.
Unfortunately, all the reports were empty ... there was only a "No data matches the specified criteria for the report” warning inside.
The Client Statistics task (Administration>Background Tasks) was enabled and I was able to run this report selecting a different floor area ... after a few tries I've discovered that this error occurs only when the old Aironet 1242AG APs are involved. If I select a floor area populated with the newer 1142 and 2602 models, the report template works as intended.
So, is there a way to fill a "Busiest Clients" report with data fetched from our old Aironet 1242AG APs?
Our WLC is a Cisco Wireless Services Module 2 Controller for Cisco Catalyst 6500 (WS-SVC-WISM2-K9).

Kindly try to restart the Dameon manager with the command line of the server
1> net stop crmdmgtd
and then start the daemon manager --> net start crmdmgtd (wait for atleast 20-25 minutes before login back to LMS and also see if any file do exist at location CSCOps\Objects\dmgtd\ready folder).
Get the output of pdshow after waiting for 20 minutes and stdout.log and stderr.log from CSCOpx\MDC\tomcat\logs.

Cisco Prime - Custom Inventory Change Report?

Hi,
Cisco Prime has this report:
Reports > Inventory > 24-hour Inventory Change
The problem is that the Report reports things that I don't want to track, like changes in "NVRAM Used", Interface Speed, etc...
Is it possible to configure Inventory Change so that it would not check some itens?

I saw that Syslog Automated Actions > Inventory Fetch has very useful configuratios, but I think that it is still not what I need. The screen you pointed out was related to messages from Syslog that triggers inventory collection.
What I need is in the image below.
All right, NVRAM changed it's current used size. For me, it is completely useless to know about that every day in my Inventory Change report. That information is flooding my report. How to remove it from future reports?

Can Cisco Prime send a peer to peer connectivity report

I'm trying to discover if we have any peer to peer wireless clients (not ad-hoc WLANs) talking to each other. I was asked to turn off peer to peer on the wireless network, so I need to find out if there are any clients talking to one another, and if so, what are they, etc.
I've looked through the reports and didn't see anything there.
We have Cisco Prime 7.2, 5508 WLCs and MSE.

I now have Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 running, and I don't see a report like the "Reclaim Unused Up/Down Ports" report that existed in LMS.
I found one called "Interface Capacity", but it only shows the number of ports that are "connected", "notconnect" or "disabled".
Does anyone know if a report of Unused ports exists in Prime Infrastructure 2.0 or if it will be available later on?

Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1 Custom Reports

Hi, I need to generate a custom Guest User report from Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1. It needs to have a couple more fields added to the existing "Guest User Association" report.
Is it possible to connect to the Cisco Prime Infrastructure Database and Generate custom reports? Is there any documentation on this?

• Alarms/events for client authentication issues (e.g. authentication failure) are displayed in PI.

Config comparison and archiving functionality in PI leverages these same features that were brought in from LMS, so need to defer to others in terms of whether this is a cross-platform feature in PI or is only supported on a subset of platforms. When is Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 released, and what does 2.0 offer?

We are running Prime Infrastructure 1.3 primarily for wireless management at this point. We have enough licenses to add all our switches, routers, and firewalls, but we're hesitant to do so until 2.0 comes out. While there are some features for backing up and configuring switches and routers, 1.3 still seems pretty limited in regards to non-wireless features. For example, nearly every report in 1.3 is for wireless controllers or AP's, there are no reports I've found relevent for switches and routers. I've read a lot of blogs, cisco posts, and white papers talking about how Cisco Prime Infrastrucure 2.0 will finally consolidate Prime into a truly all-in-one network management suite that can manage the entire Cisco environment. Does anyone know when it's officially being released? Does anyone have an tech sheets on what's new in 2.0, or what its capabilities are? I want to better understand what 2.0 has to offer, when it's coming out, how to upgrade, so I can start planning for the upgrade and eventually importing all our network devices to Cisco Prime for centralized management. Any useful information or links would be appreciated.

PI 2.0 is in Beta mode for testing in closed group already. However it may still take some time to get released on CCO for FCS.
I think it is expected to be released between aug-sep. BU has also started working on CPI 2.1, which you can see test uploads on CCO.
For what does it have for customers?
> As Cisco have a vision of one network Management software for both wired and wireless infrastructure, which started getting real partially with Cisco PI.
As WCS got evolved to NCS and eventually to Cisco Prime Infrastructure, but it doesnt yet have full Management capability for wired infra., which is there with LMS.
With CPI 2.x Cisco plans to blend entire LMS and WCS features together.
