Cisco Prime UTC/GMT Lobby Ambassador

After creating guest user credentials via Cisco Prime Lobby Ambassador, you receive a summary page(attached) that list the start time and end time.  The issue is that the times show up in UTC instead of GMT, does anyone know how to change this?  PI v 2.1  Thanks.

  • New to Cisco Lobby Ambassador

I want to be able to tie the registering users into the visitor registration section of a segregated guest network. I want to have a link that would appear in the front end after you register a visitor which would direct you to this program which is the lobby ambassador. Any non guest user could be able to register a guest and be provided a temp logon for the guest for a period of time.
Anyone has an idea of how I can achieve this using a Cisco lobby ambassador

You should be able to expand it to something bigger.  On the controller go to Security, AAA, General.  Increase this number, it will require a reboot.  I'm not sure the maximum you can increase it to (could be controller dependent).

  • Prime Lobby Ambassador defaults scheduling guest users

    Hi.
I'm actually testing Prime Infrastructure and one important thing there for me is the Lobby Ambassador feature.
I want to give our colleagues from other sites the possibility to create guest accounts on their own, but with some defaults already set. They should only be able to create accounts with a lifetime of 14 days ( not editable ), but with the possibility to schedule the accounts.
If I now set the defaults of the Lobby Ambassador to 14 days lifetime and make them not editable, the Lobby Ambassador can’t schedule the guest user. If they choose “Schedule Guest User” from dropdown, they get the message “The creation will be scheduled 5 minutes after the current server time.”
Is there a way to get that working?
Best would be to have the defaults partially not editable, so that you can make some things default ( e.g. lifetime, generate password, controller config group ) and some things editable ( e.g. description, disclaimer, scheduling ).

If I'm incorrect, someone please pipe up as I don't believe I was ever able to find a way either.

  • Cisco prime Infrastructure guest user schedule

    Hi All,
What is the procedure to follow to create a Lobby Ambassador account in Cisco Prime, who can create a guest user and schedule the new password generation everyday for that guest account.
We want the Guest Account to be created once with one username (Ex: Guest 1) and everyday, a new password should be generated for Guest 1 and the credentials should be mailed to a network admin.
And how should I create lobby ambassador account in CPI? I know the prcedure for WLC.
    Thanks,
    CJ

You can find information on creating a Lobby Admin here:

  • Cisco Prime WLC mismatch due to expired guest voucher

    Hi Cisco Community,
a customer of mine likes to administrate his guest vouchers via lobby ambassador accounts on Cisco Prime.
Unfortunately if one of these Guest Vouchers expires Cisco Prime shows up an Audit Mismatch because this Voucher isnt present at the Controller but still present at Cisco Prime.
I have already tried to execute the Background Task -> Guest Accounts Sync manually but this doesnt solve the issue.
I will add some Screenshots for explanation.
    1. I deploy the guest voucher to our WLC´s
    2. The guest voucher is visible at the controllers security configuration tab.
    3. The guest voucher reaches its validity period and disapears from all the controllers.
4.Then only one controller shows up a configuration mismatch.
After executing the Background Task -> Guest Accounts Sync manually this voucher will be shown as "Expired"
But the mismatch still remain between Controller and PI
Why is this happening and why does it happen only at one of the controllers??
How am I able to fix this issue?
    Thanks for your support
    regards
    Benedikt

Since it has been a while, you might be better off opening a TAC case.  If PI doesn't get the config refreshed from the WLC, thats when you get the error your showing.  So maybe run the background task just on that one WLC and see if it fails or you get an error.
    Thanks,
    Scott

  • Customize Lobby Ambassador View

    Hi all,
I have a problem with the following situation:
    - Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 (2.0.0.0.294)
    - Cisco ACS 5.4 (5.4.0.46.0a)
    - 2x Cisco WLAN Controller 5508 in SSO mode
    - x APs 2600 Series
All devices are configured properly, I can see the WLC on Prime, etc.
Prime and WLC are added to ACS for TACACS+ Authentication.
Admin users are able to login to Prime with full feature set (root permission).
Lobby Ambassadors can also login to Prime for Guest User creation.
Therefore I have created two Shell Profiles on ACS.
Now I want to create WLAN Guest User with Lobby Ambassador Account (TACACS-authenticated!).
I want to customize the Default Guest User Creation page with a company logo and some default settings (WLAN Profile, Apply to Controller List, set "generate password" to fixed, etc.) to fixed values.
Only thing what Lobby Ambassador can change should be setting the password period (with hours or using calender), guest user name and description.
If I configure a local user on Prime, I can customize the page.
However if I use TACACS user, I am not able to use the customized page.
Can anybody help me with this issue?
    THANKS a lot!!!!
    edit: problem solved by workaround...

    BR, Stefan

You will not be able to unless you build a back-end that does it and sends the commands to the WLC. Other than that, you can't customize the lobby ambassador page.

    Hello,
The logo on the page which would be printed with the guest user credentials can be customized. It can be done from:
Administration > Users, Roles & AAA > Users > Click on the User name for 'Lobby Ambassador' > Click on the 'lobby Ambassador Defaults' tabs & scroll down to see the 'update Logo' option.
The details of the emails/credentials format can't be customized.

  • Issues with Cisco Prime LMS 4.2.3

    Hi,
I'm trailing Cisco Prime LMS 4.2.3 Soft appliance on ESXi before I deploy it into a live environment and am having some issues.
I've upgraded to version 4.2.3 and the box was working fine after the upgrade however on power it up today the Apache service will not start.
If I look at the LMS application I see this for the Apache service.
"Apache                Administrator has shut down this server   0 "
I have tried to starting it.
    CiscoLMS42/admin# application start Apache
    % Application failed to start
    CiscoLMS42/admin#
If I run an application operation debug at the same time I get the following output.
    CiscoLMS42/admin# 6 [5343]: application:operation cars_install.c[1145] [admin]: Application initialization initiated for appname: Apache, operation: 0

I'm at a complete lose as to where to look next, failing anything else I'll have to rebuild it, but it would be nice to know how to get the Apache up and running again.

  • WCS Lobby Ambassador and Monitor User

I'm running our WCS authentication through ACS with TACACS and it's working fine.  However, I currently have my Help Desk setup with a monitor user so they can login and view WCS, but this does not give them the Lobby Ambassador of course.  How can I get a user to have both WCS and Lobby access with having to login with seperate user identities?

It's either admin either lobby account, you can not have both, the http pages are completly different and dont intermix.
Your solution is to have 2 users on your TACACS where one is the admin and one the lobby.

  • Cisco Prime Assurance install Help..!!!! :( :(

    Hi all,
We would like to bring cisco prime assurance 9.1 in to our Organization
Guys could you please provide me install guide or screen shot of the  application for the assurance version 9.1 and I wanted to know the prerequisite  for this application like server requirement etc
We are having a UCS in which we can run a VM machine but I wanted to know is  cisco prime is installed on windows server 2008 ent edition R2,R1?
Or it has any OVI template like CUCM or how do I install and integrate  it?
Please help me to proceed in this case..
    Rgds,
    Rebecca
    God bless u all!!

    Hi Rebecca,
    Well....at least you're getting there
    I believe you'd need glabaladmin for the UI as admin is for cli;
    User Accounts
For  Prime Collaboration, you will be required to specify various passwords  at different instances. This section is designed to help you specify  appropriate passwords in several scenarios that demand your login  credentials (applicable for both converged application and standalone  Prime Collaboration Assurance and Prime Collaboration Provisioning  applications).
•globaladmin- A superuser who can access both Prime Collaboration Assurance and Prime Collaboration Provisioning UIs.
•globaladmin  password- Specify this password when you configure your virtual  appliance for either standalone or converged applications. See Configuring the Prime Collaboration Assurance Virtual Appliance and Configuring the Prime Collaboration Provisioning Virtual Appliance. You are also required to specify this password when you log in to the UI (see Password Rules for root User and globaladmin).
In  Prime Collaboration Provisioning, this password is synched with the  password of postgres admin (to perform backup and restore operations).  The password is then updated in the database and in the /opt/cupm/sep/dfc.properties file. You must log in as a root user to access the dfc.properties file.
Note If  you plan to install both Prime Collaboration Assurance and Prime  Collaboration Provisioning, ensure that you specify the same password  for both applications during installation.
•CLI Admin Username—The default username is admin. However, you can specify the username of your choice.
•CLI  Admin Password—Specify a password for the SSH CLI admin. This password  is used to log in to the CLI to check the application status and perform  backup and restore (see Password Rules for CLI admin).
The  CLI is supported only through SSH; Telnet is not supported. You can log  in through SSH using port 26 for Assurance and port 22 for Provisioning.
•Root user—A superuser who has all privileges in Linux shell.
•Root password—Specify a password for the root user (see Password Rules for root User and globaladmin).
Password Rules for root User and globaladmin
•Must contain at least one of each: lowercase letter, uppercase letter, number, and special characters.
•No character in the password may be repeated more than three times consecutively.
    •Cannot contain non-ASCII characters, %, +, and &.
•Cannot be cisco or ocsic or any variant obtained by changing the capitalization of letters therein, or by substituting 1,!, or | for i, substituting 0 for o, or substituting $ for s.
•Cannot be same as the username, and cannot be the username reversed.
    •Must contain from 8 to 80 characters.
    •Cannot end with these characters: *, ; or #.
Caution We recommend that you write down the root password, as it cannot be retrieved.
Note•To  change the root password, you must log in as root user and execute the  "passwd" command, which prompts you for a new password.
•If  you are planning to integrate Provisioning and Assurance servers, make  sure that you adhere to the Assurance-specific globaladmin password  rules while setting up / creating the password for globaladmin in  Provisioning.
    Password Rules for CLI admin
    •Must contain atleast six characters.
•Must contain at least one of each: lowercase letter, uppercase letter, and number.
•Must not be the same as the username itself.
    Installation Prompts
We  recommend that you find out the values beforehand for the following  parameters, as you will be required to enter them at the console prompts  when you configure the virtual appliance:
•IP address—The IP address of the virtual appliance. If you wish to change the IP address, see
•IP default netmask—The default subnet mask for the IP address
•IP default gateway—The IP address of the default gateway
•Default DNS domain—The default domain name
•Primary nameserver—The primary name server. You may add a name server. To configure several name servers, enter y.
•Primary NTP server[time.nist.gov]—The primary NTP server. To enter a secondary NTP server, enter y at the next prompt.
Note Prime Collaboration 9.5 supports three NTP servers. To configure a tertiary NTP server, enter y at the next prompt, after you specify a secondary NTP server.
•Timezone—The  timestamp that is displayed on the UI is the server time. By default,  the configured timezone is UTC. For a list of supported timezones, see Supported Timezones for Prime Collaboration. You must use the same timezone for Prime Collaboration Assurance and Prime Collaboration Provisioning servers in converged mode.
•Username—The CLI admin username. The default is admin. However, you can specify the username of your choice.
•Password—The  CLI admin password. This password is used to log in to the CLI to check  the application status and perform backup and restore.
•Root user—A superuser who has all privileges in Linux shell.
•Root password—Specify a password for the root user.
•globaladmin—A  superuser of the application who has all privileges, and whose account  used for initial login to the application (UI).
    •globaladmin password—Specify a password for the globaladmin.
•Network deployment mode-Select the network deployment mode you need. Specify E for Enterprise Deployment or M for Managed Service Provider Deployment (E/M).

  • Lobby Ambassador - WCS Logging of Guest Account Creation

    Hello all,
If I am user "admin-ken" and I setup an guest user account "guestuser1" via the WCS controller templates > Guest User (which takes me into lobby ambassador), is there a log file that indicates that "admin-ken" had setup "guestuser1" guest account?
    Many thx indeed,
    Kind regards,
    Ken

    HiKen,
    Hope all is well :)
    Maybe this is what you are looking for;
    Logging the Lobby Ambassador Activities
The following activities are logged for each lobby ambassador account:
•Lobby ambassador login: WCS logs the authentication operation results for all users.
•Guest user creation: When a lobby ambassador creates a guest user account, WCS logs the guest user name.
•Guest user deletion: When a lobby ambassador deletes the guest user account, WCS logs the deleted guest user name.
•Account updates: WCS logs the details of any updates made to the guest user account. For example, increasing the life time.
Follow these steps to view the lobby ambassador activities.
Note You must have superuser status to open this window.
Step 1 Log into the Navigator or WCS user interface as an administrator.
Step 2 Click Administration > AAA, then click Groups in the left sidebar menu to display the All Groups window.
Step 3 On the All Groups windows, click the Audit Trail icon for the lobby ambassador account you want to view. The Audit Trail window for the lobby ambassador displays.
This window enables you to view a list of lobby ambassador activities over time.
    •User: User login name
    •Operation: Type of operation audited
    •Time: Time operation was audited
    •Status: Success or failure
Step 4 To clear the audit trail, choose Clear Audit Trail from the Select a command drop-down menu and click GO.
