Cisco Provisioning Manager 2.1 bulk service area detailed configuring

Hi folks,
I'm really stuck and need some help desperately.
I have bought Cisco Provisioning Manager 2.1 for 5000 handsets and I have isntalled the product ok however I am now at the stage where I need to configure the service areas. I have some 45 sites which equates to about 350 service areas.
Service Area for each site with the following differences:
- Odd Device, Present CLI
- Even Device, Present CLI
- Odd Device, Restrict CLI
- Even Device, Restrict CLI
Can someone please advise me a way to bulk configure these detailed attributes with some tool or a let me know of a customer northbound API application that has been written to do make this painful exercise much less painful?
I estimate its going to take me 5 weeks full time to click through each thing and configure it..
Please help!
Cheers
Beau

You can bulk load (with batch provisioning) the Service Areas...  I did this by exporting my phones into a CSV file from Communications Manager, and then filtered it for the fields required for the SAs.  Then you just follow the instructions for batch provisioning that start here:  http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_unified_provisioning_manager/2.1/user/guide/infrstct.html#wp1051558
I hope that helps...

  • Cisco VPN connects but then no services are available.

    Where to start:
I have a situation where by my remote office, 5 machines, connects to head office via Cisco VPN client.
Recently we have been able to make a vpn connection but once connected we have no services available like connecting to servers, internet, network drives, voip phone or even pinging any of the services. We get an IP address on the virtual network adaptor created by vpn connection but then nothing.
After a hec of amount of troubleshooting I swapped out our router, Draytek Vigor 2820, for another 2820. Same problem. I then took my Draytek Vigor from home, that does work, to the office and it works perfectly fine using the 2600 router in the office. I then tried a dlink router and that worked in office as well. So it has something to do with the 2820 router. It has been working fine for months and now recently, having changed nothing on it, it has stopped working for us with Cisco vpn connection. Does anyone have any clues as to why and what I could do on the router to resolve issue or could it be something on the cisco side that needs changing? I have already updated firmware to latest version on router.
Any help / advice would be great appreciated.
    Regards,
    Ashley

Can you please share the configuration as there might be something that change after the upgrade that might cause the issue.

is it possible to configure this function now without problem?
if yes what are the ordered steps to follow?
    Thanks all.

  • Cisco Call Manager / Translation Patterns

We have a Cisco Call Manager in a large metro area with 10 digit dialing.
The problem is some of the numbers we dial in the digit still require a 1 because they are technically long distance.
Currently I have to add multiple rules to either add a 1 or not depending on the exchange. If the user adds a 1 when they don't need it they will get a "you don't need to dial a 1 with this number". If they don't add a 1 when they need it they get a "you must dial a 1 with this number"
I'm sure there is an easier way to do this especially because I only need to dial 10 digits on my cell phone no matter what.
    thanks,

There is no quick solution short of build specific route patterns based on exchange dialed when you have same area code requiring 10 or 11 digit dialing, this comes down to training and having users try both and having both 1[2-9]XX[2-9]XXXXXX and [2-9]XX[2-9]XXXXXX patterns defined.

  • Cisco FireSIGHT Management Center

    Dear All,
I would like to ask that, is it mandatory to have Cisco FireSIGHT management Center OR Sourcefire Defence Center to configure and manage Cisco FirePOWER/ Sourcefire IPS appliances ?
    Thanks & Regards

Adding to what adhogan mentioned - yes - except for the new ASA 5506 which, when used with ASDM 7.4, will allow ASDM-based setup.
Most use cases would still want to have an FMC though for always-on monitoring and archiving the data for retrospective analysis.
You do have the option of the small licenses that allow you to manage either 2 or 10 ASA module-based sensors. (FS-VMW-2-SW-K9 or FS-VMW-10-SW-K9)
For legacy Sourcefire 3D sensors (VMs or appliances) you need the full FMC/DC option.

We want to understand that what is the impact of this error and is there anything that we can do to prevent this error? Also want to know what might be the cause get this error?
Let me know if anything else is needed from my side
    show-tech file uploaded.

    Padma,
    TAC Engineer sent below mail
    Hi Amit,
I’ve checked through the show tech you’ve uploaded and have not found any indicators of errors for the error message you are seeing.
As I mentioned in the call, the error is a transient error from which the fabric interconnects can automatically recover from. The recommended action is to wait for a few (10-15min) to see if the error clears automatically. If the error does not clear then we will need to do further troubleshooting. This error on its own is not a cause for worry. As you have HA in your system the management services would have failed over the to the other fabric interconnect and would not affect your system performance.
We can leave the system under observation for a few days to see if other errors occur concurrently with this error.
I will upload show-tech logs here, find my reply below
Is the alert generated only for FI B or both FIs ->> Amit: Alert generated for FI-B only
Any change in cluster state corresponding to alert time stamp ->> Amit: Unfortunately when this error generating we are unable to see the cluster state because of timing. If you can guide / suggest from any other location I can find the state that will be helpful
Cluster physical link status ->> Amit: Cluster link is OK
Does FI have any core dumps ->> Amit: I don't have any idea about this. How can check this ?

    Please try below mentioned steps:
    1. Central Administration > Monitoring > Review job definitions > Look for following timer job "Application Server Administration Service Timer Job" > Disable
    2. Then open windows administrative services (services.msc), stop SharePoint Timer Service
    3. Clear SharePoint Timer configuration cache by following steps mentioned in below blog:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/jamesway/archive/2011/05/23/sharepoint-2010-clearing-the-configuration-cache.aspx
    4. Start SharePoint Timer Service and give it a few seconds so that the new XML files from the location you deleted then are re-populated.
5.Central Administration > Monitoring > Review job definitions > Look for following timer job "Application Server Administration Service" Timer Job > Enable

    Hello,
Could you be more specific about the version of OracleAS you are using?
    - which exact version ? (10.1.3.x, 10.1.2.x or 9.0/x)
    - which kind of Web Service are you developing? (J2EE 1.4/JAX-RPC or earlier version)
Also if you find bug in the documentation or product please send let the Oracle Support Service knows.

  • SQL SERVICES ARE MISSING IN CONFIGURATION MANAGER

    hi
We have recently migrated SQL2008 to SQL2012 enterprise edition on WINDOWS 2012,and everything is running fine.
Today i have just opened SQLCONFIGURATIONMANAGER for normal services checkup, but i couldn't find any SQL services in it expect integration services.i have checked in SERVICES.MSC and all services are running, this happened suddenly before it was alright(i
could see all the services)could some one please help me in finding the reason for sudden missing of the SQL services in CONFIGURATION MANAGER and way to get them back.
    cheers

OK, so that is strange enough and looks like permissions issue with the WMI. There is an article for SQL 2008R2, which you can check and see if the solution helps you somehow - http://www.mssqltips.com/sqlservertip/2492/why-is-sql-server-configuration-manager-missing-services/

  • User Profile Application and Managed Metadata services are missing

Running SharePoint 2013 servers on a set of 2012 R2 Servers.  One of our farm administrators deleted the Secure Store service account.  They recreated the Secure Store account, but after doing so, the Managed Metadata Service and User Profile Service
    are now unavailable.
When going to the User Profile Page, there is an error that says "Sorry, something went wrong."
When going to the Metadata page, there is an error that says "The Managed Metadata Service or Connection is currently not available."
There is an additional error that says "The Security Token Service is not available."
How can all three services be brought back online?

That specific event log error is as follows:

  • UCCX Application manager service are in partial

After upgrade the uccx from 8.2 to 8.5 then application manager services are show in partical state.
    Under UCCX service enginer.
application manager service are show ( PARTIAL_SERVICE).
I check the jtapi username and password are ok, I check the CTI route point and CTI port are registered.
Please can you help me on that how to resolved this issue.

    Hi Ketanpatani,
Please run the JTAPI and Data Resyn operation from the UCCX Admin-> CUCM Telephony subsystem and look out for any inconsistencies between UCCX and CUCM.
Make sure all the CTI route points\ Triggers in enabled state.
If you have a UCCX HA setup, make sure to run all the services are in master state in UCCX Node1 (for this you can just reboot the UCCX second node so that all the services are running in master state from first Node of UCCX).
    Thanks,

  • Content Distributor, deployment Manager and resource services are dead

    Hi,
I am using Fast ESP 5.3 product single node in a window environment. Recently during a SAM patch installation I have restarted ESP and post that I have found below three services status as N/A in System Overview. Even  the server was restarted
due to window patching. As these services are down I am unable to create any collection neither am I able to publish any search profile.
    Content Distributor
    deployment Manager
    and resource services
Strangely in nctrl status all services are displayed as Running.
These are the work around I have tried:
    killed processes from Task manager
    Restarted ESP
So is there any possible way to bring these services up.
    With Regards,
    Santanu Mishra

With reboot of the server the issue got resolved....
