Cisco SA520 IP alias broken after FW upgrade

We have a Cisco SA520 running on a Comcast 5 IP block. We just recently upgraded the firmware from 1.1.42 to 2.1.51 and now we are unable to use our IP aliases that we setup to route one server's traffic to a particular WAN IP Alias which is different from the rest of the network. Here is what we are trying to accomplish, and yes, it was working fine before the firmware upgrade:
"Server A"-> "External IP Alias A" (Email server)
"All other traffic on same subnet" -> "Default WAN IP" (computers and other servers)
Right now I have the WAN IP setup on the router to be the same IP as the alias we were using before, just to get the server on the right IP. Unfortunately that means all other traffic is on that IP now too.
I'd really like to separate the traffic on the network so we can keep all email traffic on its own WAN IP, and all other network traffic on its own WAN IP too.
What do I need to do to fix this? We originally had an IPV4 Rule in place which worked great. See the attached picture for an example of what worked before.
Thanks for your help!!

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem ! Although on a AS5350 running c5350-js-mz.123-4.T2.bin.
tried "isdn map address . plan isdn type national" on the serial interface. Did not work.
Also tried adding "isdn calling number ........" (8 digits). Did not work.
When debugging on SIP the CLID is being received from the SIP client.
Interesting that we have the same problem on the same software ? hopefully someone will give pointer as to which software that works or a workaround command.
Regards
Lasse

It looks to me like the client is sending the mount request, the server accepts and then for some reason the client thinks it has failed. I can't even see anything strange in the wireshark traces comparing the working client (3.5.6) to the broken one (3.6.2).
Anyone else using nfsroot successfully with the latest kernel?
    Any other ideas?
(by the way - despite my directory names, this is using nfs v3 for the rootfs)

refused unmount request from 192.168.1.86 for / (/): not exported
, but the /new_root bit is new and I have no idea where it comes from.
refused unmount request from 192.168.1.86 for /new_root (/): not exported
So I wonder if it asking for the wrong path.
That unmount issue will be solved by FS#32021.
Unfortunately, that doesn't help with mounting in the first place with 3.6.2

  • Spotlight and Time Machine broken after restore/upgrade

I've found a few similar threads to this but none of those solutions has worked for me.
Two things happened at nearly the same time, so I don't exactly know the source of my problem:
I upgraded my old MacBook Pro (approx. Oct 2010, 2.66GHz I think, 300GB-ish HD) from Lion to Mountain Lion
The hard drive on my old MacBook Pro developed a terminal fault, so I had to buy a new one (8GB, 750GB HD) and restore a month-old Time Machine backup from my external drive.
I can't remember whether my last Time Machine backup to my external drive was before or after I upgraded to Mountain Lion.
Now I'm on OS X 10.8.2 on this new machine and I have two problems that seem to co-exist for a lot of other people too:
Spotlight won't index: this is f***ing infuriating, I love spotlight and I use it all the time. When I first restored from the TM backup I think the old index restored with the backup as I did get a decent number of search results (both in spotlight and in MS Outlook), but new files didn't seem to get recognised. I tried adding my hard drive to the exclusion list and removing it again in an attempt to get it to rebuild the index, but all that did was wipe the old index without building a new one, so now I get no spotlight results whatsoever. I tried this solution and sadly it hasn't worked either. Basically I can't search for anything. Even applications (which I like to launch from spotlight) don't appear. All I get is "estimating indexing time", and it never gets any further.
Time Machine won't back up: the first time I tried to backup my new machine it got a few hundred megabytes in before stalling; then a few hundred kilobytes in the next time I tried; and now it just doesn't get anywhere at all. The external drive I'm trying to backup to is recognised fine, I can see all the other files on it, and Time Machine seems to know that it's there, but the backup gets nowhere.
There are reports of this kinds of crap all over the Apple Support forums, but no definitive answer, especially for 10.8.2.
I could really do with some help on this. I need a backup before I screw another laptop, and I need spotlight to survive day-to-day life.
    Thanks,
    Craig

Hi Craig - I had the exact same problem - I'm using an old early 2009 MacBook Pro upgraded to 8 Gb Ram, 1 TB internal Hitachi HD, 10.8.2 - tried the fixes suggested - got it to work with these steps- everybodies mileage is different but hopefully it works for you as well.
    a) I repaired disk permissions with Onyx (free utility)  and then  started  up with Command-R using Disk Utility to repaired/check the Volume (harddisk checked out fine but the volume needed some minor repairs )- Onyx repair disk permission seems to go deeper -had to reinstall some apps - don't know if this solved it-seems to bring it back to the default state - you might get away with doing all from Disk Utility (but starting up with  Command-R)
    b) restart from my internal hd
    c) downloaded the 10.8.2 combo update ( not the incremental shell update or whatever you call it which automatically gets installed with software update - combo update installs everything fresh from the .0 version)
    d) with  Onyx  I deactivated spotlight and erased the spotlight index
    d) restart
    e) started TM backup - prep took pretty long 30 minutes but then 450 GB got backed up in 6 hours to my external HD which is fast enough for me
    f) activated spotlight and 450 Gb were indexed in 9 hours or so
    g) for 2 days everything runs fast and very responsive
    best,
    Franz

  • Wiki icons broken after last upgrade?

Has anyone noticed that the wiki icons after the last update 10.7.2 are broken?
I just did a remote upgrade and noticed the links are now broken on the wiki pages..  I'll troubleshoot it from an apache perspective later tonight, but I was just curious as to if anyone else has run into this anomaly..

So after getting home from a business trip yesterday, I decided to look into this..   I found that screen sharing was also not working.
I rebooted the server and screen sharing started working again, as well as the icons are now also being displayed properly in the wiki's.  I wanted to get screen sharing working first as the server is in the basement, and I'd rather sit at my desk to troubleshoot   (Simply restarting screen sharing did not fix that problem)
If it happens again, I'll troubleshoot before rebooting.

  • Iphone 4G is broken after wifi upgrade to iOS 5.01

When i using wifi upgrade iOS 5.01, after reboot the iPhone, it say need connect the iTunes, but the iTunes say my iphone is broken.
    How can i do????  HELP!!!!
    My phone is 4G

Your iPhone (when it has not been tampered with, like a jailbreak) is not "broken".
    What happened is this:
the update to iOS5.0.1 done directly on the phone just downloads an update that is incremental and has the size of 38MB. This works fine, BUT
if you do the same update through iTunes, it downloads the full system file (about 700MB) and updates your phone with that, and it places the file in useraccount/library/itunes/iPhone Software Updates  and at the same time deletes the earlier iOS5.0 in there.
That iOS 5.0.1 file may then be later used to Restore the iPhone.
You guess: since the full file is not downloaded by iTunes, it deletes the old file but has nothing new to put in.
When you connect the iPhone it can not restore if that is necessary.
    This is what you do:
Download the full iOS5.0.1 file and put it in a "newname" folder, do not put it in the folder I said above yet.
Connect the iPhone to iTunes, Alt+click on the "restore" button and choose the file from the newname folder, after the restore you can Alt+Click on the iPhone Device and click "restore from backup" and choose a backup from just before you updated the iPhone, this will bring back all your data.
If all goes well, copy the iOS5.0.1 file to the folder mentioned above, keep the file in the newname folder for a while until you are sure that you do not need it anymore.

  • Failed to verify preflight file ... App Store broken after Mavericks upgrade

I upgraded my OS X to Mavericks and the install was very smooth. Since then, however, I cannot update any apps or purchase new ones in the App Store. I receive a message saying "Failed to verify the preflight file. It is not signed by Apple. The application will be available from the Purchases page." Unfortunately the same thing happens when I use the Purchases page as well.
Am I doing something wrong or did something break with App Store after my installation?

What worked for me was changing the certificate preferences in Keychain Access (open Keychain Access app and then go to preferences).
I just changed both of the first two options to 'Best Attempt', they were originaly at 'Require if certificate indicates'.
    Hope this Helps

  • Boot Camp broken after Yosemite Upgrade

    Hi.
After upgrading my 2012 rMBP to Yosemite, my boot camp with Windows 7 stopped working. Specifically:
    - I could not see the Windows partition when holding down the alt/option key at startup
    - I could not see an option to startup with Windows in the boot camp assistant
    - I could not see the boot camp partition in disk utility: all I could see was a partition "disk0s4"
    - there appeared to be some unallocated space in disk utility between the Macintosh HD and disk0s4 partitions.
After searching the Apple Support forum I followed the advice posted by Loner T. In summary I confirm the following actions solved my problem:
    - running Test Disk,  and confirmed that in my case I had not lost data, and that the "MS data" partitions were still there albeit they were marked as "deleted". I used the "Analyse" option to list candidate partitions, and then the "p" option to list the files in the candidate partitions. In my case there was only one candidate "MS data" deleted partition where I could successfully list the files which I could recognise as being from my Windows file system.
    - from Test Disk, writing down the start and end sectors of my Windows partition
    - running Gdisk, and following the instructions posted by Loner T to
              1) replace the bad partition information, which required my start and end sectors I had written down from Test Disk, and (following reboot)
              2) replace the MBR information which set my boot camp partition as bootable.
I'm not overly tech savvy myself but was able to follow the instructions posted. I can't offer any further advice myself other than to say it worked for my problem and that I recommend reading the posts from Loner T to diagnose your problem and hopefully fix it.
Good luck to all boot campers out there.

  • X/XFCE broken after recent upgrade

I just upgraded, and I am having some issues with X that don't match up with anything else posted recently.  I am running XFCE on a GeForce 9800 GT, and I have a dual-monitor setup.
    When I run
    startxfce
both screens start up fine, but the mouse is the X 'X' instead of a pointer, and when one window is open I cannot interact with other windows, or change between them with alt-tab or the like.  To get a terminal I am sshing in from another machine.
I have tried downgrading xorg-server and the nvidia package, with no result or I lose the ability to start X entirely.  Here is my xorg.conf:

I tried downgrading xorg-server-common along with xorg-server (both from version 1.13.0-3 to 1.13.0-2) and rebooted, with no change.  I do not have an older version of xf86-input-evdev.
I notice that xfce4-settings has been upgraded recently (10/20) but I do not have an older version of that either.

  • Gtk-window-decorator themes in XFCE/Compiz broken after recent upgrade

I allowed my arch linux upgrades to slide for a while - probably nearly a month - and just did a system upgrade and reboot today. After rebooting, I am stuck with GTK's default Adwaita window borders, which use a lot of real estate, and GTK3 apps like nautilus have a solid black border around the windows.
I have tried changing the theme with theme-switch2, I have rebooted a couple of times, replaced the window manager with xfwm4 and then gone back to gtk-window-decorator, all with no change. Other aspect of the theme - fonts and colors - work fine, but the window decorator theme just won't change.
The following commands have no effect:
    gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences theme Numix
    gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme Numix
Here is an example of the black box around nautilus.
Possibly unrelated, but when I start gnome-tweak-tool, which allows me to change the theme, I get the following message:

I am no expert in themes, so I am completely stumped by this whole problem. Any ideas anyone?

MikeDacre, there is a known issue whereby a change in GTK 3.16 means that Compiz isn't getting the frame extents for CSD windows. It's being discussed in the following Compiz branch: https://code.launchpad.net/~3v1n0/compi … rge/250015
I'm not entirely sure whether this is the relevant issue for you; my CSD windows don't have black borders but they do have a thin light grey border all the way around which negates the rounding of the top corners. You could try building Compiz from the branch I mentioned but just to warn you I've already tried and it didn't do anything for me. The bottom line is, the Compiz team need to fix Compiz for CSD and until they do, expect there to be problems.

  • Finder Alias Broken after Changing Router

I have two Macs in a network. The iBook uses the iMac as a server.
On the iBook I have some alias folders that point to the original folders on the iMac server.
I recently changed my router and the IP address of the iMac changed.
Now if I open the alis when the server volume is mounted then all is well. If I open the alias when the server is not mounted then the alias is flagged by the Finder as needing to be fixed. It looks as if the Finder is not finding the new location of the server volume. If I repair the alias then the finder will mount the volume and open the orginal.
I would have expected the Finder to automatically repair the alias since the name of the server is still the same.
    Any suggestions?
    Richard
iBook, iMac   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

The aliases you created are linked to an IP address that no longer exists. It's the same thing that would happen if you made an alias of a folder then placed that folder inside of another one. The link would be broken and Finder wouldn't know where it was.
Your only solution is to fix the links or create new aliases of the folders.

  • Netctl-auto@wlp3s0.service broken after wpa_supplicant upgrade

A few hours ago, I upgraded from wpa_supplicant-2.3-1 to wpa_supplicant-2.4-1. Subsequently [email protected] stopped working. After I started it, it would be reported as "active (running)" but fail to connect to any WIFI network (I wouldn't get assigned a DHCP IP address):

Notice the "Could not read interface...". I downgraded back to 2.3-1 and the problem went away. Could this be a wpa_supplicant bug (new bug in 2.4-1) or netctl bug (incompatibility with the new wpa_supplicant)?
There's nothing special about the profile files in /etc/netctl. In addition to the ones for wired network, I have a few files named like "wlp3s0-XXX" and they look like this (password crossed out):

    Description='Edward'
    Interface=wlp3s0
    Security=wpa
    ESSID='Edward'
    Key='????'

I'm having exactly the same problem.

This also break wifi-menu by the way, so the only option now is trying a manual wpa_supplicant connect. mtn: error while loading shared libraries: libboost_regex.so.1.33.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Yes, I am using compiz 0.8.2-1 from [community].
With the --debug option enabled, compiz says
compiz (core) - Debug: Could not stat() file /home/patson/.compiz/plugins/libcore.so : No such file or directory

Nothing works. No window moving, window resizing, no effects, no window borders, nothing.
mlocate can't find any file named "libcore.so".
Something's definitely wrong, but this needs further investigation.

  • [SOLVED] Thinkpad T430 brightness keys broken after firmware upgrade

    Hi.
I've upgraded the firmware on my Thinkpad to version 2.51. Since that I'm unable to change the display brightness via the Fn-Keys on the keyboard. What still works is writing values to /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:02.0/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness but of course that's not how it should be.
    Here's some dmesg output:
    [    7.638814] thinkpad_acpi: ThinkPad ACPI Extras v0.24
    [    7.638816] thinkpad_acpi: http://ibm-acpi.sf.net/

    [    7.639440] thinkpad_acpi: detected a 8-level brightness capable ThinkPad
[    7.639547] thinkpad_acpi: radio switch found; radios are enabled
[    7.639558] thinkpad_acpi: This ThinkPad has standard ACPI backlight brightness control, supported by the ACPI video driver
    [    7.639559] thinkpad_acpi: Disabling thinkpad-acpi brightness events by default...

[    7.641156] thinkpad_acpi: Console audio control enabled, mode: monitor (read only)
Any idea why it's broken and how it can be fixed?
    Thanks,
    Julian

Awesome, the acpi_backlight=vendor kernel command line parameter actually fixed it.
Does anybody know what exactly has changed and why this in necessary now?
Update: If you do this, you'll get error messages like this in your log/dmesg every time you press a brightness key:
kernel: thinkpad_acpi: unknown possible thermal alarm or keyboard event received
kernel: thinkpad_acpi: unhandled HKEY event 0x6050
kernel: thinkpad_acpi: please report the conditions when this event happened to [email protected]
The kernel command line parameter acpi_osi="!Windows 2012" also works and seems to be the better way to fix this.
    Bugreport at kernel.org: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51231
tl;dr: Firmware update introduced 101 brightness levels even though the hardware only supports 16 but Windows 8 requires this. Reducing or increasing the brightness by one doesn't change anything at all so the firmware will still report the old value as the new brightness thus it'll never actually change the brightness. But if you explicitly tell the firmware that you're not Windows 8, it will only report 16 brightness levels and everything works fine. Lenovo, seriously?

  • 602-OEAP Access Point broken after WLC upgrade to 7.4.100.0

    Hey all,
I have a TAC case open, but it doesn't seem to be making any progress....
I upgraded my 5508 controller from 7.2.111.3 up to 7.4.100.0
Most of my APs are fine. 3500s, 1100s etc.except for 602i APs. The APs associate, they update software etc, but they won't broadcast the WLAN.
An interesting thing, on the 602 AP, in the log, I see this:
*Mar 06 15:08:12.667: SSID remote, WLAN Profile Name: RemoteOEAP, added to the slot[0], disabled
So the AP is definately talking to the WLC and being pushed the correct WLAN profile.
    Another thing I noticed:
On the controller, the AP shows the the Admin status of the radios is showing DOWN, but the Admin status on the AP itself shows UP
I've done a factory reset on the APs to no avail. I have a 2504 WLC as well that i'm in the process of implementing in a DMZ specificially for these APs, and for testing purposes, I associated the 602 Ap to that WLC as well. This one is running 7.4.100.0 too, same results. It would appear to be a problem with this version of software?
    Anyone else had this problem?

Hey, thanks for taking a look at this. Unfortenately, that's not the issue in this case. The AP is set to "United States" and the WLC is only configured for US. Just so I'm looking in the correct place:
On the AP in the WLC, it's under the "Advanced" tab
On the WLC, its under Wireless -> Country correct?
The frustrating part is that the 600 really doesn't have anything that can be configured on it, which means troubleshooting is also limited.

  • Is alacarte broken after the upgrade?

any one having this issue? I think alacarte works with python 2.4. I installed python24 package but still I get no luck...
