Cisco Secure Access Control Server for Windows 3.0

I have to rebuild a server using Cisco Secure Access Control Server for Windows 3.0 ... I cannot locate this software under "download software" in cisco.com ..
where can I download a copy for Cisco Secure Access Control Server for Windows 3.0 ?

Hi,
You can not download the ACS windows Solution engines softwares from the cisco.com > download pages as these s/w are not available there. You can only download patches and remote agent software.
In order to get any ACS software/ upgrade assistance you need to open up a TAC case.
Also, ACS 3.0 is not supported by Cisco anymore..getting support for this version or any 3.x is not possible.

Is this software licensed by server with an unlimited amount of devices that connect to it? Or do I license each device that uses it?

You can connect unlimited devices i.e."AAA Clients" to acs server.

  • Cisco Secure ACS 4.2 for Windows web-based Admin Console log in problems

    To Whomever Can Assist,
I am running two deployments of Cisco Secure ACS for Windows 4.2 and I can login into the admin web-console just fine.  However, when I create a new or test user that mirror my configuration that user cannot login to the admin web-console.  The user can login it to devices with the appropriate privileges, but can't administer his/her account within ACS.  This has proven very problematic and needs a remedy.  Thanks for the assistance.

    Bradbryant.dhs,
Where are you creating the new admin user who should have access to ACS web gui under internal users or administration.
Internal user and ACS administrator accounts are completely different.

  • Delete proxy config on Cisco Secure ACS 4.1 for Windows ?

We have a pair of ACS 4.1 servers (Windows Server 2003 R2). Let's call them ACS1 and ACS2.
We don't want either one of them to proxy to any AAA server, including each other. We're using mostly TACACS authentication.
While troubleshooting a general problem, I'm guessing that one of us did this on ACS1:
    pressed the Network Configuration button,
    saw the Proxy Distribution Table
    clicked (Default)
moved ACS1 from the AAA Servers column to the Forward To column.
So, essentially, we're telling ACS1 to proxy all requests to itself, which doesn't seem to make sense. I don't know for sure whether it should work when configured to "self proxy," but in that state, it does not authenticate anyone and gives merely "Internal error" as the reason.
If I change the configuration so that "ACS2" appears in the Forward To column, and I move "ACS1" back to AAA Servers and restart, ACS1 starts responding correctly to TACACS requests. Of course, ACS1 is just proxying all requests to ACS2, so having two servers isn't doing much good.
I cannot simply remove ACS1 from the Forward To column and leave it empty. The interface complains that it can't forward to zero servers. Of course, on ACS2, there are no servers in the Forward To column, since we never touched the Proxy Distribution Table there.
Is there any way to return the Proxy Distribution Table to its default setup, that is, no servers appear in the "Forward To" column?
We're planning to upgrade to version 4.2 very soon, so this question is mostly academic, unless the same problem exists in 4.2.
For full disclosure, I should mention that the problem we were troubleshooting was loss of connectivity to our Windows Domain Controllers from our ACS servers. We had missed adding some exceptions in our firewalls to allow for four new DCs. As far as we can tell from testing, connectivity to the DCs is now fine. The firewall rules group ACS1 and ACS2 together, so connectivity should be the same, and ACS2 authenticates users correctly.

    Hello Jeffrey,
By default the ACS 4.x Proxy Distribution Settings should have the ACS entry for itself on the Forward To box. Your ACS1 entry should be on the Forward To box.
The Internal Error message on the ACS should be highligthing a different issue on your ACS1. Also, the message stating that we cannot have zero servers on the "Forward To" box is expected.
Set your ACS1 for Full Logging Detail (System Configuration > Service Control) and configure the ACS1 entry under the Forward To box. Recreate the authentication issue and collect a package.cab file. If you have an ACS for Windows, under the ACS Installation folder look for the CSAuth folder > Logs and share the auth.log file with a failure timestamp for us to review the ACS logs when failing with Internal Error.
If this was helpful please rate.
    Regards.

  • Cisco Secure Access Control System vs ISE

Can someone tell me what the difference is between these two systems?  Is there a feature on one that I can not use on the other?

TACACS+ to begin.  No tacacs on ISE in its present form.  I'm basically transitioning all user radius based auth to ISE and keeping admin tacacs based auth on ACS.  ACS does DACLs, but only based on user or group membership.  ISE does DACLs based on very customizable rules and posture assessment.

  • Problem with Cisco Secure Access Server 3.0

    Hi All,
Please what is my problem? I use Cisco Secure Access Server Version 3.0 for Windows 2000/NT Servers to authenticate users on our wireless network. I however wish to assign monthly time limits to each user after which he/she will no longer have access until next month or the timer is reset. I tried this with the "User Usage Quota" under User setup. I set the Server to "Limit user to X hours of online time per Month" and enabled the "Use these settings" and also checked the box by the side of the option. I saved and restarted my server. Unfortunetly the settings did not work for all the users whose quotas I set.
What Am I doing wrong. Please assist.
    Chafe

Do you have your AP's sending accounting data? If not, ACS has no way of knowing how long they've been online?
You can utilize your ACS logging to see what your accounting looks like to confirm whether you are receiving accounting packets or not?

  • Access Control Server

    Hello,
This is my first post and I am not sure if its in the right area but I hope it is.
I am running a Access Control Server on my Windows 2003 AD domain with the Windows Agent connecting to my 2003 DC's. Everything is working flawlessely. I have since upgraded all our DC's to Windows 2008 forgetting about the ACS agent and now the agent has stopped functioning.
Is anyone aware if the ACS Windows Agent is supported by Server 2008 ?
    Regards
    Colin

    Hi Colin,
    welcome
For ACS questions I would recommend the AAA forum actually - but to answer your question: win2008 is supported as of ACS 4.2 patch 4:

  • Local Apple Software Update Server for Windows

Has anyone figured out, how to use Leopard's Software Update Server, as a local Apple Software Update Server for Windows?
As you may know, 10.5 Software Update Server downloads, not only mac updates, but the windows' version of them as well (e.g. Safari, iTunes for windows).
There has to be a way to use that new feature.

    {quote:title=Apple wrote:}
Software Update Server is capable of automatically mirroring updates between
Apple’s software update server and your local server to guarantee that the most
current updates are immediately available. Mac OS X Server also supports hosting
Apple updates for software running in Boot Camp, such as iTunes and QuickTime for
Windows. To ensure security, all updates are digitally signed by Apple.

No idea, how to get it running smoothly yet, however.

  • Problem with Office 2007 whenever I install the iCloud Control Panel for Windows

Sadly I have a Win7 laptop as my work hack and am using Office 2007.  Outside of work I use iCloud to sync calenders between various iOS/OS X devices however whenever I install the iCloud Control Panel for Windows Plugin my email no longer loads. Outlook starts fine and just sits there with an empty inbox waiting for mail to load.  I can't even open the iCloud Panel from within Control Panel either to set preferences!
Unistalling the iCloud plug-in resolves this but I really want to sync my iCloud calender with Outlook and can't see any other way to do it, plus it worked before and then just stopped.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

I tired everything that was suggested in the forum.  Tried IE and firefox to no avail. When I tried computers in stores both worked.  A friend of mine who has the 32 bit setup got it to work. Several folks have stated it is the compatability issue with 64 bit.  As a last resort, I loaded safari on my home computer, and yep, it works.  Go figure, apple product.
