CISCO SPA-504G & CISCO SPA-525G plug nad play???
Hi,
we have CCM 7.1.5 and I need to add about 100 new phone/users. we received good price for this two phones CISCO SPA-504G & CISCO SPA-525G.
This one look and I think is the same linksys spa 942 phone, and for that one I need to do provisioning to get them to work.
Are this two phones CISCO SPA-504G & CISCO SPA-525G, "plug and play" does CCM recognized them like other Cisco phones (like 7941....)

Sounds like you need to adjust the dial plan string under the relevant Ext tab on the admin web interface of the phone.

Cisco SPA-504G: Retrieving Broadsoft Personal directory does not display first and last name
Hi,
We are using the Cisco SPA-504G on BroadWorks Release 17.sp3. We are using the feature to lookup the different BroadWorks directories through the 'dir' button on the Cisco phone. For configuration you have three choices for telling the phone which directory it needs to retrieve:
- Personal
- Group
- Enterprise
This can be found by going to Voice -> Phone -> Broadsoft Settings in the web GUI of the phone (admin & advanced mode).
When retrieving the Enterprise or Group directory everything is working OK. I can see the names and the corresponding phonenumbers of the users.
When retrieving the Personal directory I only see the phonenumbers and not the names of the entries. This is probably due to the fact that the XML output of the Personal directory is different compared to the Enterprise/Group directory. Personal directory is like:
<Personal><startIndex>1</startIndex><numberOfRecords>2</numberOfRecords><totalAvailableRecords>2</totalAvailableRecords><entry><name>Name X</name><number>0123456789</number></entry><entry><name>Name Y</name><number>0987654321</number></entry></Personal>
Result of requesting: http://xsp.domain.tld/com.broadsoft.xsi-actions/v2.0/user/[email protected]/directories/Personal
Group directory is like:
<Group><startIndex>1</startIndex><numberOfRecords>1</numberOfRecords><totalAvailableRecords>1</totalAvailableRecords><groupDirectory><directoryDetails><userId>[email protected]</userId><firstName>FirstName</firstName><lastName>LastName</lastName><hiranganaLastName>LastName</hiranganaLastName><hiranganaFirstName>FirstName</hiranganaFirstName><groupId>BroadWorksGroupID</groupId><extension>9999</extension></directoryDetails></groupDirectory></Group>
Result of requesting: http://xsp.domain.tld/com.broadsoft.xsi-actions/v2.0/user/[email protected]/directories/Group
As you can see the name of a user in the Personal directory is defined by <name></name> and the name of a user in the Group directory is defined by <firstName></firstName> <lastName></lastName>.
So it looks like the phone is not capable of parsing the XML output of the Personal directory request. And to me that looks like a bug.
Anyone that can acknowledge?
Kind regards,
Bart Derks

Is there a "Cisco Recommended" wireless headset for the SPA 504G Phones?
Hello, Is there a "Cisco Recommended" wireless headset for the SPA 504G Phones?
Please let me know. Thank you, PaulHi Paul,
My recommendation would be the "Plantronics Savii 700 series" which have worked consistently and without issues, you need the HL-10 Handset lifter with them which work with the SPA-500 series.
The Savii series come as DECT for when you are using it with a phone (Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better reception than Bluetooth) and Bluetooth for when you have it synced with a computer at the same time, it also comes with combination headset connectors so you can have one over the head, or around the neck or even just hanging over the ear.
I fully recommend them with the 500 series phones.
Cheers,
David. -
Cisco SPA 504G dialling out.
Cisco SPA 504G. After reset to factory defaults, I now have to add 1 to any 10 digit phone number to dial out.
How can I avoid this additional 1 before every number. What setting do I have to change on the phone. interface. [email protected]Sounds like you need to adjust the dial plan string under the relevant Ext tab on the admin web interface of the phone.

Temp Workaround for Bug CSCun19415 - SPA 504G Transfer stopped by incoming calls
We have found that if you turn the CW Setting (User, Supplementary Services, CW Setting) to "No", then this provides a workaround for this issue. Obviously, there is a loss of functionality of the Call Waiting feature on all lines since this is a macro setting for the phone. However, until a bug fix for this issue (it is NOT an enhancement) comes out this does provide a good workaround. This also provides a workaround for the discussion on this support forum labeled "SPA 504G Transfer stopped by incoming calls".
Bob ConnerAt least in our case this is not a valid workaround, for we need our operator (only one person) to know how many calls are waiting.
I agree completely: it is a bug, and not an enhancement. The second incoming call interrupts and aborts the transfer process associated to the previous call. It is amazing that so many firmware upgrades has been released since this behaviour was detected, and it is still here unresolved.
My only workaround is using an old Linksys SPA942 (which works as expected) or another brand's model.
My need: A multi-line SIP terminal for an operator to distribute the calls. And, as bizarre as it may sound, this cannot be addressed with CISCO (at least with 50x series).

How I activate different voice message on spa 504g with UC320w
Hi:
I am configuring a system for a small office with 504g and uc320, on 504g, I press the vmail button, enter the option for recording message for different senarios, like " out of office", " I am busy", ...." greetings", now the question is how I activating any messages as I wanted with spa 504g, I can only use "greeting.." messages now, it must be a default message..
Regard.Hi Rex,
The 'Temporary greeting' is just that a temporary greeting. Typically, people will use it to indicate they are out of the office and when they will return. When the user returns to the office, they delete the message then the standard 'Unavailable" message. Unfortunately, there is a bug and the 'Busy' greeting is never used.
As long as the 'Temporary Greeting' exists that is the greeting the user will hear. If the customer requires more advanced features from voicemail then perhaps they should look at the UC500 series.
Hope this helps.

I have an LC/APC fiber patch cord infrastructure and I want to connect it to Cisco Catalyst 6500 & Cisco Access 3750 Switches. what type of transceiver should be used?
I read a note on Cisco website stating the following for Cisco SFP+ transceivers:
Note: "Only connections with patch cords with PC or UPC connectors are supported. Patch cords with APC connectors are not supported. All cables and cable assemblies used must be compliant with the standards specified in the standards section"Thank you, but my question is that I have a single mode fiber patch cord with LC/APC connector while cisco stating a note that only use LC/PC or LC/UPC type of connectors with SFP+ transceiver.
So what type of transceiver should I use to connect LC/APC patch cord to cisco switches? Is there another type or SFP+ still can be used? -
Is there a Cisco AireOS to Cisco IOS XE conversion tool?
Hi,
We're currently migrating some AireOS WLCs networks into 5760 IOS XE.
Is there a tool or procedure available to converte an Cisco AireOS configuration into Cisco IOS XE?
I'm currently looking into the the "Cisco AireOS to Cisco IOS XE Command Mapping Reference, Cisco IOS XE Release 3SE" document and I was wondering is there is an easy way to do this
Kind regards,
VascoThere is not real tool that does this conversion. It's best to treat this as a Greenfield implementation.
Thanks,
Scott

Re-Paired Cisco DMM and Cisco Show & Share
Hi ...
guys ... do anyone have experience to re-paired Cisco DMM and Cisco Show & Share ? I do re-paired it, but it doesn't success. First i pair Cisco Show and Share with Cisco DMS it success, but when i pair Cisco DMM with Cisco Show and Share it doesn't success (the proccess took so long about 30 minute i do ctrl C and it says failed to install certificate from Cisco Show and Share).
Anyone have idea ?
BRAvoid Pairing Failures
•Pairing fails when you complete these steps in the wrong order. You must use AAI on your Cisco Cisco Show and Share appliance before you use AAI on your Cisco DMM appliance. Do not reverse this order or try to use AAI simultaneously on both appliances.
•Do not use the POP option on the pairing menu. Doing so may cause Cisco Show and Share to fail. If you accidently choose the POP option, you will need to re-pair the Cisco Show and Share and DMM appliances.
Pair Your Appliances
Procedure
Step 1 From the appliance that runs Cisco Show and Share 5.2:
a. Log in as admin to the Appliance Administration Interface (AAI).
b. Choose APPLIANCE_CONTROL > PAIR APPLIANCE.
c. Choose DMM.
Warning Do not choose any other option than DMM.
d. Enter the fully-qualified domain name (FQDN) for your Cisco DMM appliance.
This is the DNS name. Do not enter an IP address.
e. Press Enter.
Your Cisco Show and Share appliance receives and successfully imports a digital certificate from your Cisco DMM appliance.
Step 2 From the appliance that runs Cisco Digital Media Manager 5.2:
a. Log in as admin to the Appliance Administration Interface (AAI).
b. Choose APPLIANCE_CONTROL > PAIR APPLIANCE.
c. Choose SHOW_AND_SHARE.
Warning Do not choose any other option than SHOW_AND_SHARE.
d. Enter the fully-qualified domain name (FQDN) for your Cisco Show and Share appliance.
This is the DNS name. Do not enter an IP address.
e. Press Enter.
Your Cisco DMM appliance receives and successfully imports a digital certificate from your Cisco Show and Share appliance.

Difference between Cisco DCNM and CISCO Fabric Manager
Hello Everyone,
I am new to Cisco SAN and just would like to know the differences between cisco DCNM and Cisco Fabric manager and which one is latest as of now.
regards
VINAYHi Viany,
Fabric Manager was renamed DCNM starting at 5.2.
Fabric Manager only monitors SAN Fabrics, while DCNM 5.2 and above can monitor both SAN Fabrics and Ethernet LANs.
