Cisco SPA502 G - DHCP & Call problem
Good day.
I have many cisco spa 502G phone in my network which working correctly. But one phone doesn't working via DHCP. If I using static IP, I can ping phone, or login in on web-interface, but when i was trying upgrade firmware through Firmware Updater, I see error - upgrade failed, No Response From Spa. Phone firmware version is 7.4.3a .
End the most important problem is that phone can't work correctly with my asterisk-server. If i receive call from anybody, i can do this only system keys nearly phone-screen. I can't call from this telephone ((
Please, community help, and sorry for my english
Hello Sergey,
To wich firmware do you want to upgrade? For some firmwares you have to do this in steps, you can not go directly to 7.5.4 form the frimware that you are using.
When you put the phone back to DHCP can it be that the phone tries to get an ip adres that is allready in use. Chek the DHCP pool etc to check the leases. At our office some phones say that they are initializing network for a long time and when we check the problem is that the phone wants to get an ip adres that is allready in use.
You can check your other phones web ui to see if an duplicated ip adres is causing the problem that you can not use the phone with DHCP.
Kind Regards

Cisco Aironet 1600 - DHCP Offer Problem
Hi,
I have dhcp problem with our new AP:
I add an AP to our LAN.
I make a simple configuration with a WPA authenticate.
I can connect some equipment to this AP and our DHCP give an address correctly.
We use adptator to give wireless connection to old station with old operaing system (adaptator example : Netgear WNCE3001)
This adaptor connect to AP and receive an address from DHCP.
My problem is the equipment behind this adpatator send a DHCP request, our server send a DHCP offer but never arrive to this equipment .....
Same problem with another adpatator (TRENDnet and ZyXEL)
I think Cisco 1600 dont return correctly the DHCP offer, perhaps i miss some configuration.
Anyone can help me ?
Thx

Want you want is this client acting like something called a workgroup bridge (at least, that is how it is called when you have an Cisco AP fulfilling this role).
With the Cisco deployment you configure the AP as a workgroup bridge with multiple client MAC (and IP) addresses behind it. If the infrastructure where the AP should associated with is non Cisco you can use the "universal mode" where you can just use one (wired) client connected after the AP.
Now back to your Netgear client. I have not seen this client in real life, but if I read the manual I'm getting the feeling that this client does a little more than only bridging. At least there is no option to really configure the workgroup bridge stuff and the WLAN interface is being called "Internet adapter". There is also a option for an LAN DHCP server, which is kinda confusing as well if you ask me.
However, the thing that we can try is using a static IP address on the wired client side and test if communication is possible. Could you please give the output of the "show bridge 1" and "show dot11 ass" commands in that situation? Last but not least you can test if your configuration works after configuring "config network ip-mac-binding disable" on the WLC. -
hi, i am an iphone4 user from the United Arab Emirates. I got my phone as a gift last September and it was not bundled with any carriers and was a factory unlocked piece. Within one month of usage the home button started misfunctioning. It started registering double clicks as single, triple clicks, etc. (the usual complaint of many countless users of iphone from the time of the release.) I then kind of ignored this problem and continued using the phone.
With this problem still continuing, comes another one.
My friend gave me a call yesterday, and we were talking happily for a minute or so and suddenly without any reason my friend failed to hear me. Five minutes was spent trying to make myself heard to him. I tried and i tried and the only solution i could find was tapping the phone gently, but firmly. Then he was able to hear me but then after sometime it was back to the same problem.
The only solution i found was to tap in th sides.(please note that this is also a common problem with many who have call problems but no voice memo problems.) I tried adding and registering my device to my account but when i try to put in my iphone's serial number, they say that the device number is invalid.
Now i want to get a solution to this, but since this was a gift piece i do not have any invoice of any sort. I even checked itunes.com/support and was happy to find i still have warranty till september.
I am confused as to what to do as I was dissappointed to find even a single apple store in the UAE and do not know what do we get in terms of support. Could someone please help me?that is exactly the problem. I have no idea as in where this phone originates from. It was gifted to my Dad from a personnel who he was supplying for in the company. My dad then gifted it to me on my birthday. I asked my dad about the phone but he also does not know a thing. He also said that the other guy must have taken the invoice with him as he did not give anything to my dad.
I checked it in quite a few places (like SharafDG,eMax,Axiom etc., the local electronics suppliers) to track where this phone was originally purchased from( because these people usually take down the IMEI's of the electronic devices they sell), but they all could not help me.
Now i have no idea what to do and i do not want to spend huge amounts of cash for this matter as i am already in the warranty period. Anyways, thanks for your help in advance, but it would be helpful if you could try to get this solved for me. -
Decode Error in Cisco VCS for a call from Jabber to telyHD
Hi,
We have the following setup:
Cisco Jabber <---> Cisco VCS <---> telyHD (Our Video Product)
Now, the call works well when the call is intiated from telyHD to Cisco Jabber.
But, the call fails when the Cisco Jabber initiates the call towards telyHD.
The packet capture on VCS shows that there is a syslog message from VCS to Jabber indicating the following when 180 Ringing is received from telyHD:
Message [truncated]: tvcs: Event="Decode Error" Service="SIP" Src-ip="10.1.1.19" Src-port="5060" Dst-ip="10.1.11.11" Dst-port="25331" Detail="(User-Agent) Single header User-Agent appeared twice in message" Protocol="TCP" Level="1" UTCTime
Can you please help in troubleshooting this issue. I don't see multiple "User-Agent" headers in the 180 Ringing sent by telyHD.
I have attached the packet capture on VCS.I am also having the same issue. Can someone please respond? Thanks.

Hello.
I have owned a Nokia 6500 slide on the 3 network for just over a year now, it's a decent phone and I've had very few problems with it until recently. The current problem is that when I make or receive a call, there is no audio/volume. Once the call begins to ring or I answer, and it's connected, there is no volume. However, if I change it to loudspeaker, it can be heard perfectly normally as if it were played through loudspeaker (obviously). So in short, the "handset" option of the call is muted. I have checked the obvious thing such as settings and makings sure the call volume was high enough, but there is just no sound at all when on the handset setting of a call. To make a personal call I have to make it in loudspeaker and everyone can hear.
I also had a problem wiht my contacts, and I downloaded the latest firmware and it fixed that problem. However, the loudspeaker call problem has remained. Usual searching hasn't sufficed, I appear to be the only one wiht this problem. Hopefully somebody can help me out here.
Thanks in advance,
CamsTake it to the nearest Nokia Care Point. Probably your speaker is damaged.
Cheers,

Verizon is releasing another update tommorow: ED05 did not fix the miss call problem
I got two voice mails today that did not show as missed calls . I call Verizon technical support and ask to speak to a manager. He told me that several people are still having miss call problems and to expect a new update august 1 which is tommorow. I told him this is the last straw , if this new update doesn't work for me, they are going to have to give me a different phone or release me from my contract. This is so frustrating.
I called Verizon 2nd level tech support and they assured me there is NO ED06 update's said they haven't even finished rolling out ED05 yet. I think they just told you that to get you off the phone. I also have a Fascinate and have had problems and can't get them to replace my phone with a different device. I want the Droid Charge since it is the only other one that has the AMOLED screen that I originally chose the Fascinate for . They had a program that ended on July 28th the day that ED05 rolled out. They offered the Droidx, the Incredible 2, and the Droid Charge to replace the Fascinates that were having trouble. I had called to report my issues during this replacement program but was not told that it was going on and now they won't give me the Droid Charge because it has expired. I think since there are STILL issues-they need to bring this program back and allow us to get a different phone. I have been a customer of Verizon for 10 years and have 7 lines so I am REALLY disappointed that they can't work with me (or other customers ) especially since it is not something we did to the phone. It is a problem with either Verizon or Samsung. I don't know where to go from here but maybe if they hear enough from others that didn't have any success with ED05 they will start to replace them. I will probably go to a higher level to voice my concern. Let me know if anyone has any success getting a new device especially the Droid Charge.

Cisco ASA 5505 and DHCP Client Problems
Hi, i have a problem. I've connected my ASA appliance to an ADSL modem, and i dont get an DHCP address on the outside interface (e0/0). I use the asa-722-19.bin firmware.
I turned on the debugging for the DHCP client and could see that the ASA device was sending out broadcasts but a reply never came. Instead I connected the device to my internal network where the ASA got an address instantly.
I read somewhere that if I was to use ?ip address dhcp client-id fastethernet 0″, then I got an address from the ISP.
I tried looking for a similar command on the ASA5505 but I couldn?t find anything. I did however find a page on the Cisco site confirming my suspicions. It said some ISP?s require the client-id field of the DHCPDISCOVER request to be filled.
I've also read that this issue has beed fixed since a few weeks, now they have released version 7.2(2).22 where you can define ?dhcp-client client-id interface outside? in global configuration mode. Im running 7.2(2).19 and i cannot find any command like that in my appaiance. How do i fix my problem ? Or how do i get about recieving the 7.2(2).22 firmware update.
Regards !
LeifHi again! I thought I should share the solution that worked for me. I use software version 7.2(2) on this device. ASDM 5.2(2). In ASDM open configuration / Interfaces. Click in outside (my case 0/0) and press Edit. Then open the tab Advanced and set the correct Active Mac address. Fore some reason its empty by default and the ISP/modem don't like that. You will find the correct MAC address under the help menu / "About ASA". Im sure there is some another way to do this but this is a simple "how-to" that works with Swedens biggest ISP and their standard DSL modem.
When I used a Linksys DSL modem in bridge mode without the MAC address set I got an inside IP adress (192.168.x.x) from the modem to the ASA. After setting the MAC address I just had to do a renew and got the outside address right away. /Bjorn

Cable Sub-Interface in VRF - DHCP Intermittent Problem
I've configured multiple VRF's to support third party access to our cable infrastructure.
Of the 15 CMTS' I have configured, all of them work fine except for one which happens to be a UBR10K running 12.2.15.BC1b. The other CMTS' (7200's and 7100's) are running fine with an older IOS revision but I need the latest IOS on the 10K to support VLAN sub-interfaces.
The problem is occasionally, DHCP clients will obtain an IP address/netmask from within the proper VRF subnet, but the client is unreachable from the CMTS.
If we disable the IP address in question from CNR and have the client renew their IP, service is restored.
This is a big problem. Even though this only happens occasionally, when you have 8000+ users on a CMTS, 'occasionally' still works out to quite a few problem calls.
Sub-interfaces set up to use static IP addressing on the client experience no problems.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Cisco ASA 5505 Reset-I Problem with TCP State Bypass
Hello,
I have a Cisco ASA 5505 that functions as my primary firewall and a Mitel 5000 controller behind it. I have two external phone users that have been connecting through the firewall with no issues for six months until about two weeks ago. I am now seeing the following log entry on the phone trying to connect to the Mitel Controller.

My phones are designed to work with the Mitel 5000 and Mitel 3300 phone controllers. The 5000 will only use port 6800 for call control, while the 3300 will use 6801 (Secured Minet), 6802 (Minet SSH), and if those fail, port 6800 (Minet Unsecured). When the phones initiate a connection, they try 6801 first. If 6801 is unavailable, the phone controller adds the RST flag to the ACK packet. When the phone sees the RST flag, it is supposed to reset and use the next port (6802). The same process happens again for port 6802, then the phone knows to try 6800. The problem is that the ASA sees the RST flag now and terminates the connection at the firewall. Therefore, the phones never see the RST flag, and continue to try the connection with port 6801.
I have tried to use the TCP State Bypass feature to correct the situation, but the log shows that the connection is still being terminated immediately by the firewall. I am a novice when it comes to configuring the ASA. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as the company that I bought the phone system from is out of troubleshooting options. I do not think that I have made any changes to the firewall around this time. I have packet captures and logs from my ASA and I have wireshark data on the inside of my network. I need to figure out how to configure the ASA so that it ignores the RST flag and sends the packet back to the source.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Rizwan,

Cisco 876w: wlan client - routing problem
I configured a Cisco 876w to connect to an existing WLAN as a client. Now I would like to connect 3 PCs to the 876w which should be able to access the internet via the 876w.
Problem:
Being at the console (ssh) of the 876w, I can ping hosts in the internet (even with their name like www.google.com) but when I'm using a client PC, I can't... What am I missing here? Could it be a NAT problem?

Cisco SPA 112 outbound call issue.
Firstly, i applogize if i havent posted this in the correct section but this was my best educated guess.
Recently upgraded to a Cisco SPA 112 which works fine.. but only for a few days,
then If i try to call a number i get the dial tone but the number fails to
connect & all i hear is silence. If i hang up the phone to retry it fails to
disconnect correctly and i get no dial tone for several minutes. After leaving the phone
hungup for a few mins the dail tone returns but the same problem is still present.
A hard/soft reset of the 112 fixes the issue temporarily, but reoccures again withinn a few days.
Running Sipgate on lines 1 and 2 on Virgin media UK ISP.
Model:
SPA112, 2 FXS
Hardware Version:
1.0.0
Boot Version:
1.0.1 (Oct 6 2011 - 20:04:00)
Firmware Version:
1.3.1 (003) Dec 17 2012
Recovery Firmware:
1.0.2 (001)
Im no expert and now at a loss and could do with some expert help tbh.Dan, i will see how it goes over the next week or so with the updated F/W & shall report back, and thanks for the link as i wasnt sure how to save a syslog.
Should i set the verb as high as 6, or is that an over kill.
Gabriel, I have an FTP running on my sat receiver which i will attempt to use to catch the log, but as for the the "sipgate registration", when i loose conection my ata reports its still registered & the sipgate URL, isnt in real time as far as i can tell.
My ata would have normally shown its fault since my first post 6 days ago, but unfortunately a recent power cut has reset my testing period back to 1 day.
