Cisco SRP520 Router with NexStar FX NAS
How do i get the Cisco SRP520 Router to assign the external IP to my NexStar FX Nas,
i have a Harddrive in the NexStar FX Nas,and the files is setup to FTP, but i cant access it from a diffrent network, if i'm connected to the network it works but asoon as i use a diffrent network it doesnt pick up... i also have a working dyndns account setup on router can i use the dyndns account to ftp?
for Example: ftp://site2.dyndns.org
Hi Ruan,
Just create a port forwarding rule for application you wish to expose to the internet.
Network Setup > NAT > Port Forwarding.
The Admin Guide has more detail if you need it.

Cisco 2600 router with 4A/S module can be terminal server
I have a cisco 2600 router with 4A/S module, can it become the terminal server? If yes, which kind of octal cable should I choose to connect to other cisco routers console ports? Thanks a lot
The commands mean that R1's console is connected using the first RJ-45 cable and is available on port 2001, R2's console is connected using the second RJ-45 cable and is available on port 2002 and so on. Remember that the ports are numbered as 2000 plus the line number. Hence, the first port is 2001. If you have more than eight devices and have connected a second CAB-OCTAL-ASYNC cable then you need to add a similar configuration line with the port numbers starting from 2009 till 2016.
In your configuration u configured 9 ports. So please add second cable for another 8 ports.
To connect to the console of a device, telnet to the terminal server router's loopback address and specify the port number associated to the device. For example, to connect to console of router R1 (from our example) type telnet 192.168.12.1 2001 in the Run dialog box from your PC.

Cisco 3925 router with an ATM E3 card that never goes down!
Hi all,
We a Cisco 3925 router with an ATM E3 card (NM-1A-T3/E3) configured as below with 1 PVC. we see that the ATM subinterface we created for the PVC never goes down! not even when the WAN link is down! The problem with this is we are tracking the line protocol of the ATM sub interface to have VRRP failover to standby router. But because of this issue only BGP goes down whenever the WAN is down & line-protocol of the Subinterface remains up, the failover never happens & site is down. We can configure VRRP to track reachability of a BGP route as workaround but I would like an explanation or troubleshooting steps to check whats the trouble with current setup?

Thanks a lot in advance!Your router has some configuration on it already and it would help us give you better advice if we knew what is already in the configuration. So would you post the output of show running-config (if there is sensitive information like addresses and passwords you can mask them out.
Changing the configuration register was a good start. I have a couple questions/observations that may help you get started. I notice what appears to be the same public IP address on Gig0/0 and on multilink. Did you get that address from your ISP? If so what kind of connection do you have to the ISP?
In your description you tell us that Gig0/0 is connected to a small switch, which I assume is for the LAN of your network. But that also is the interface where the public address is configured. So I am confused whether this interface is for LAN or for connecting to the ISP. Can you clarify this?

I have a new iPhone 4s. I have a home wi-fi network using Cisco Linksys2000 router with all settings per this article - phone will not see network if set to 5 GHz channel width - solution?? 2.4 works but is not optimal with other devices in home (computers; tivo). Have others seen this? Any advice is much appreciated.
Stephen Spark is right - your best alternative is to use a simultaneous dual band wireless router like the AirPort Extreme. Your Cisco Linksys2000 is not a dual band router, meaning that it will be constrained to operate at the slowest speed of all the devices on your network.
The AirPort Extreme's dual networks will support all your 802.11n devices as well as all your 802.11b/g devices on both the 2.4 and 5 GHz frequencies simultaneously. -
Cisco 2811 Router with 3 ADSL card and load balancing
Dear All,
I have few queries:
1. Does Cisco 2811 Router support 3 ADSL card?
2. We are the ISP. I want to do load balancing with 3 dsl
line on Cisco 2811 Router.
Please send me the linke for this configuration.
Thanks/Regards
Atulhi
In 2811 you have 4 HWIC and 1 NME you can install 1-port ADSL WAN Interface Cardon the HWIC slots.
Also just enable 3 default (equal cost) routes towards the interfaces which will take care of the load balancing.
if you need more info and inputs do post out with ur requirements along with network topology in place at present..

I installed NM-2fE2W module on the 2811 router on the bottom which I guess is slot 1.
It shows up in Sh diag as disabled how can I correct this? I have the same IOS as on packet tracer 6.1 ver 12.4 (15)T. I have tried upgrading the IOS and downgrading IOS.

Hello,
I have a question regarding the power consumption of a Cisco 2951 router with an AC-PoE power supply (without PoE boost).
In fact in the table (n°7) of the Cisco 2900 Series ISR (G2) datasheet, that sum up the power consumption data for Cisco 2900 series routers there is the line : "Maximum Power with PoE Power Supply (Platform Only) (Watts)", and I would like to know what is exactly the meaning about the mention "Platform Only".
Thank you for your help, best regards,Hi @francois.trarieux,
This is the maximum power that is consumed exclusively by the router from the PoE PS (Power Supply). The power capacity that the PoE PS gives to other PoE devices (IP Phones, Cameras, APs, etc) is specified in the line below "Maximum End-Point PoE Power Available from PoE Power Supply (Watts)" of the datasheet.
HTH.

I am quite new and haven't worked before with Cisco router. I have a Cisco 3620 router with only one ethernet interface (FastEthernet 0/0).
I want to configure it so that the router will have ip address of 192.168.2.2 (255.255.255.0). I am not using DHCP so all the machines in the network are configured manually.

Can someone give advise on what should I use for default-gateway, default-network and route?
I want to use name-server which has class B ip address. 131.x.x.x.
If my router can route all the traffic to 131.x.x.y (gateway in the same LAN as router) then I can connect to Internet.
Can someone tell me how to do this?
Regards,
Amar.Hi
i feel u need to have 2 ethernet interfaces in your router to have the reachability to the 131.x.x.x series from your local lan which is in 192.168.2.x series..
eventually u need to deploy nat to have this kinda access in place...
if you got to have that you can configure one of your interface on 131.x.x.x series and configure it as a nat outside interface and keep faeth0/0 as ur inside interface.
you need to configure up a access list and also the necessary overloading to achieve the connectivity.
i think this link will def help u out to find more details about the scenario and config details about which i m mentionining over here..
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk648/tk361/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094831.shtml
And again you can have the ip reachability using normal static ip route in your box..pointing to the ip which can be used to go out to the public/outside world..

Dear Sir,
I have a Cisco 3620 Router with 32 mb Dram and 16 MB flash.
Which IOS will support IPV6 addressing on this Router.
Thanks/Regard
AtulHello Atul,
the only way to get the IOS is to download it from CCO, or to get it from a reseller or partner.
Here is the link to the CCO download file:
c3620-is-mz.122-15.T16.bin
http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Software/Iosplanner/Planner-tool/iosresult.cgi?get_crypto=&data_from=&hardware_name=3620&software_name=IP%20PLUS&release_name=12.2.15T16&majorRel=12.2&state=:HW:RL:SW&type=Early%20Deployment
Obviously, your access level needs to be sufficient to download the IOS...

Configuring IP SLA in cisco 3925 router.
HI Team.we need to configuring IP SLA in cisco 3925 router with c3900-universalk9-mz.SPA.151-4.M4.bin ios. For Monitoring purpose. Earlier we have used the rtr command for the same. Now we are going with new Cisco 3925 router. with the above mentioned IOS. Pls suggest whether we can configure the IP SLA in the router with Licence. Or We need to buy the licence for the ame.
Posted by WebUser Ramkumar Selvaraj from Cisco Support Community AppHi
I think the command has been updated - rather than 'rtr responder' it's now 'ip sla responder'.
I don't believe you need any particular feature set.
Also, this is a 'Contact Center' forum - you would get more responses in other places.

Cisco Terminal Server with Meditech lab analyzers
We are having trouble configuring a Cisco 2610XM router (with an NM-16A) for use with various Lab blood gas analyzers that send data via rs-232 to our Meditech C/S health information system. We were hoping to replace our existing Annex and 3Com term servers with the more familiar Cisco term servers but we cannot get it to work quite right.
We do have the Lab analyzer sending date to Meditech, but in the data stream there is a null character (ASCII 0) following the CR character (ASCII 13) when we are expecting ONLY the CR.
Any ideas on what we can do to fix this?
Thanks, in advance.

Does Cisco 857 router support Easy VPN?!!
Hi,
I've a Cisco 857 router with a 12.4(6)T IOS.
I want to configure it to act as an Easy VPN server, to allow my remote clients -using cisco vpn clients- to access the internal resourses behind the router.
Is it applicable with this router model?!!
thanks and regards,
AlaAla, upsolutely, you would probably need advance k9 security image, check at software advisory tools and slect software features for your platform.

Cisco 877 router - Cisco IP phone won't register with SIP provider
Hi all,
I'm having a problem with a Cisco SPA504G phone not registering with the SIP carrier over the Internet. We've recently rolled out a Cisco 877 router onto a new NBN business connection and can't get the pre-configured IP phone to register.
When we tested the phone with the NBN-provided Netgear router, it worked fine, as it did with the previous Cisco 1841 router we were using on a different link.
The way it's setup is using VLANs to define the internal subnets, which are then assigned to the physical interfaces (since the 887 doesn't allow IP assignments to the interfaces directly).
VLAN 100 is the internal network and has a SBS2011 server – assigned to F0 – IP range is 192.168.1.0
VLAN 200 is the guest network and has Internet access only – assigned to F1 – IP range is 10.1.1.0
VLAN 500 is the WAN network and connects to the NBN upstream box – assigned to F3 – external IP address assigned by DHCP
I've been playing around with access lists, nat rules, basically everything in my limited Cisco knowledge to try and figure this out, but to no avail. I have even configured what I believe is unrestricted access to IP, UDP and TCP outbound and inbound to all VLANs and still can't get it to register.
Tried isolating the issue by creating a new VLAN and assigning it to the spare interface and basically allowing everything in and out, but still no luck.
The problem has to be something on the router – probably some small line of config I haven’t removed or added.
I am going to pull my hair out soon, so would really appreciate some assistance from the Cisco gurus out there.
My client has just purchased about 10 of these handsets from their provider so I need to fix this ASAP. The guy who provided them wasn't very helpful, and basically said I'm on my own once we tested using the NBN-provided Netgear router.
Happy to post my config as well.

Configuration Issue with my Cisco 871 Router
Hi all,
I am a newbie to the Cisco IOS.
I got a Cisco 871 Router that I'd like to use for internet connection. My LAN network is 192.168.1.0/24 and the ISP has assigned us the IP 41.212.79.108/24 and gateway 41.212.79.1.
With my current configuration, I can hit the router - 192.168.1.1 - and it's WAN port - 41.212.79.108 - but not the gateway.
Below is my current config:

I'll appreciate any light you can shed on what am missing.2 wireless routers can not communicate wirelessly with each other.
You need to connect cable between 2 routers and use the second wireless router as access point.
Follow this link to connect Linksys router to another router.
Some of your devices are getting same IP address. This might be the issue with DHCP server of the router. You can try DHCP reservation on the router so that each device will get unique IP address. -
What are the ideal settings for my TC with Shaw's Cisco DPC3825 router/modem
My old 2nd Gen Time Capsule crapped out and now I am about to set up my new 2TB TC. My provider is Shaw Communications and they have upgraded me to their Broadband 100 Mbps service. This came with a new modem/router combo made by Cisco and is model DPC3825. Before I start plugging things in I'd like to know what are the ideal settings such that I gain the most of the BB100 service. Should I be setting the Cisco modem/router to Bridge mode or the TC? Should I have Shaw disable anything? Any insight is greatly appreciated.
Unless you specifically need to have the TC perform as the main router for your network, life will be a lot easier if you configure the TC to operate in Bridge Mode.
Whether the Cisco modem/router or gateway can possibly be configured to act as a simple bridge mode modem is one thing to consider.
Whether Shaw would support you in the event of any connection difficulties with the modem/router configured this way is another.
Since Shaw is your provider, it might make sense to talk with them about best practice as far as configuring the DPC3825.
Once you have that information in hand, you will then have the answer on how best to configure the TC.....which will very likely be in Bridge Mode.
