Cisco SX10 - Does presentation HDMI support stereo audio

Hi All,
I have an SX 10 installed, when sending audio in a presentation it only plays one channel of the audio (mono) not both, is this normal?

Hi,
i have also noticed that part, but surely your left and right channels should then be combined into one channel.
What is happening is that only one part (Right channel) of the audio clip is played during a presentation.

  • Does tv@nywhere support stereo line-in?

I  noticed that as of now it doesn't support stereo from a cable input but I'm just hooking up my ps2 to it (the card hasn't come yet).  I've got an adapter to convert the 2 rca audio outputs into a single stereo headphone jack... I know it'll work if I plug it directly into my soundcard but my question was...
Would I get stereo output still if I hooked it into the tv card and then the tv card to the soundcard?

There has been so much talk about stereo, that I am inclined to believe that it is useless to try to get true stereo from the MSI tv-tuner card regardless of what you try.  (new drivers, old drivers, Inputs from PS2, DVD or VHS).    At one time, I was sure I had stereo, but I can never get back to the one configuration I had at one time.  I have given up trying.

  • Does line-in support stereo?  How?

I'm trying to do something simple. I just want to run my XM radio (Pioneer Inno2) into my Mac and play the audio through the speakers. I don't have a good stereo anymore or I'd use it; my Mac speakers are pretty good, though. I'm using Audacity to monitor the input so I can hear it.
Trouble is, I only get audio in on the Left channel (Audacity plays it back as mono through both channels, though). Why is this? I'm using a standard 1/8" stereo mini-plug cable to go from the line-out on my XM's cradle to the line-in on the back of my Mac. I also tried using the headphone jack on the radio just to make sure it's not a problem on the line-out port on the cradle. No difference. Help?

Thomas Bryant, your posts helped me remember things, including the fact that I still have a license for CD Spin Doctor as part of Toast Titanium 5.2.1 so I opened it up. Through that app, I get stereo in.
So, it appears that the issue is with Audacity, both the current stable and beta releases. Anyway, thanks for helping jar my memory!

  • Does Presentation Director support rotated monitors on nVidia cards in a T61?

I'm finding it doesn't. Some of the people here have extra monitors they like to rotate 90 degrees. Presentation Director is not happy.
    Any ideas?

  • Does AppleTV/HDMI support interlace ?

I´m on the way converting my home recorded videos to AppleTV format using handbrake and i wonder if i should use the decomb/deinterlace function or not?
My videos are PAL 576res interlaced. And i guess if AppleTV shows it in 720res on the TV won´t interlace?
At least i don´t know how this should be able to work.

I'd be interested in knowing an answer to this too. My guess is yes, because it'll just output whatever you give it, and then it's up to your TV to detect the interlaced image. It works with my Samsung Smart TV playing a PAL interlaced video converted using VisualHub to MP4, but it would ease my mind to know if the Apple TV does the same before I fork out the cash (even though it is cheap).

  • Does 6120c support stereo playback..?

hi i just bought nokia 6120 classic few days back , yesterday i first time tested mp3 play back quality with provided hs 47 headsets , But i am getting very bad + noisy mono sound quality and i know i have placed very hight quality mp3 files which are ofcourse stereo , i want to know does nokia 6120 support stereo mp3 play back , i also tested the same tracks in LCG jukebox again phone is giving me very bad sound quality , is it my head set problem or phone is producing this kind of sound quality ???
    thanks

    Hi ac361,
As Bob Wohl pointed out, Strobe Media Playback runs in Flash Player, and is built on Adobe's OSMF.
For an HTML5 based video player, a good option for you might be OVP (Open Video Player).  OVP was part of the inspiration for OSMF, so OVP and OSMF have similarities.  However, a significant point of difference is that OVP is not Flash only.
The OVP project was recently extended to now have an HTML5 implementation.  The OVP HTML5 landing page here:

  • No HDMI or Optical Audio on my TV - how to connect Apple TV

I am trying to set up my new 3rd generation Apple TV to a 1st generation HDTV that has only one HDMI input abd no optical audio inputs. The single HDMI input is connected to my cable box.
So what is the best work around for me to connect my Apple TV to mey TV?
    thank you!

There are many HDMI switches out there. Any advice on which ones are best?
I cannot personally recommend one as I have no need to use one.
Read reviews for the ones in your price range.
Also, does the HDMI switch transmit audio?
It absolutely should but be sure to read the reviews and specs for the specific one you are purchasing. Like anything else, I am sure they are some junk switches out there.

  • Does the HDMI cable carry both video and audio? U

Does the HDMI cable carry both video and audio?
If so what is the purpose of the separate optical audio connection?
Just a little confusion setting the Apple TV Up with my AV receiver.
    TIA.

You would use both HDMI and optical by connecting the former to a TV and the latter to a receiver that doesn't have an HDMI input so that you could play the audio through your stereo system.
You can use the HDMI alone, typically directly to the TV or through an A/V receiver, as HDMI does carry both video and sound.
For the year prior to the disastrous 4.4 updates a couple of weeks ago, you could use optical alone to add AirPlay music capabilities to your stereo system, so that you could stream music from iTunes and devices like the Touch and iPhone to your stereo. The 4.4 update broke that capability, requiring the use of HDMI for no reason. Lots and lots of people have been complaining about that bug, as it effectively bricks the Apple TV for anyone who bought it for this purpose but can't use the HDMI connection.

You can connect the audio from your iMac to your TV using a mini jack (like headphones plug) to rca (regular red and white audio connectors used on every TV,DVD, etc) cable.
On your TV, you need to be able to set the audio for the HDMI input you will use to "analog" and connect the rca end of the cable to the analog inputs on your TV.

Dave I'm glad to say that it works perfectly but I'm embarrassed to say that my 12 year old nephew hooked it up in about 10 minutes.
If you have the Kanex Mini DisplayPort cable it will work, what confused me was changing the display settings in System Preferences,
and dragging the mac screen from the mac onto the tv. Sorry I cant be more helpful but you have the right cable now you need a 12 year old nephew.
    Good luck Derek

  • How can I play music on my macbook pro (OSX Lion) through a Pioneer receiver. I've connected them with a mini display port to HDMI cable with audio support bought at the Apple Store, but there's no sound coming through. thanks

How can I play music on my macbook pro (OSX Lion) through a Pioneer receiver? I've connected them with a mini display port to HDMI cable with audio support bought at the Apple Store, but there's no sound coming through. There are 4 HDMI-in ports on the receiver - BD, DVD, DVR/BDR and audio. In my system preferences for sound, the receiver doesn't show up as an output option. Can anyone please advise. (ps, this is my first time posting a question, so I hope I can find your answers!) thanks, JP downunder

For sound, try the audio output port and connecting to the RCA  audio input ports on your Pioneer receiver.  Use something like this:

  • Does Cisco MOC RCC Plug-in support Windows 7 64bits?

    Hi,
I tried to install the Cisco_MOC_RCC_Plug-in.msi on a Windows 7, 64 bits. (CUPS is 7.0.8, the plug-in is coming from the CUPS server)
I use the command line, I receive the installation windows, do a complete install. But, after I don't see the Cisco Phone Selection tab in the MOC.
The same steps works properly on Windows XP, 32 bits.
I verified the Cisco document but they never mention the OS supported by the RCC plug-in.
Does Cisco MOC RCC Plug-in support Windows 7 64bits?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Actually, it is mentioned on the CUPS server itself on the page of the plug-in download (CUPS Server admininstration > Applications > Plugins > ..).
    Here is a copy/paste from CUPS 8.0.4.x -
"The Cisco Unified Presence Microsoft Office Communicator (MOC) 2007  Remote Call Control plugin allows MOC users to select which phone line  they wish MOC to control. When installed, the plugin will expose a CUP  web page within the MOC application where users can change their current  MOC phone line of control. This version is supported on Microsoft  Windows XP/Vista"
Although it doesn't mention windows 7 (32/64) (meaning dev team haven't tested it to certify), please feel free to give it a try.
    Thanks

  • Why does compressor settings of aac audio, stereo, create 2 channel mono from 2 discrete audio channel movies?

Why does compressor settings of aac audio, stereo, create 2 channel mono from 2 discrete audio channel movies?

well depending on how your audio is brought into your system you can select it as two streams of mono or a stereo pair. In reality, unless it's mixed in stereo, that's just two streams of mono locked together. Other streams brought in via other means, can have a lot more audio channels, e.g. 8, 16, 24.
In your case, with what you're doing, two separate channels works best, so you can control the levels of two very different audio sources. If, for instance, you were taking the feed from the mixing board during a concert, you might want their stereo out. Otherwise you might be dealing with the 1.2 zillion channels that they're mixing live.
I like separating the tracks coming in. I work with people who prefer to lock them together. Locking means the tracks move together during editing. Ok, fine, but I'm usually dealing with different audio sources, like you are: a camera mic (safety on location) and a close mic (shotgun, lav). Or I have a shotgun source and a lav. I want to determine the best source audio for the shot. Sometimes it's a lav, sometimes a different feed from somewhere else, sometimes the shotgun, and sometimes a mix of two sources. But if they're locked together and pre-set to come out evenly from both speakers there no way for me to make a determination. The other guys like to cut and figure out the audio later.
To each his or her own. . .

You're not likely to get anyone commenting on future roadmap features in a public forum such as this one.  I'd suggest you use the Settings > Support > Submit Feedback functionality of the Spark client to submit your question directly to the Spark team, or ask through your internal Cisco channels.
