Cisco TMS Upgrade (Backup Meetings)

Hi,
I'm upgrading from TMS from 14.1 to 14.5. Couple of questions.
* From the admin guide it tells you to backup the SQL database using SQL backup components
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms187048%28v=sql.105%29.aspx.
Does this backup the current scheduled meetings ?
* Does the upgrade effect the current scheduled meetings? If so is there any supported way to backup / restore the current scheduled meetings. There are several re-current meetings in the organisation so need to know if these will be impactd
Thanks
Nalaka

Something to note to my reply about the backup option in the TMS installer that I remembered today.  Since TMS 14.4, that backup dialog has been removed.  It's still present in TMS 14.1, the version you're currently running, but after you upgrade past 14.4, you'll need to rely on another method to backup the database.  The TMS install and upgrade guide recommends you use one of these backup methods in the following Microsoft technet article depending on which version of SQL server your'e using, Back Up and Restore of SQL Server Databases.
Something to keep in mind as you're upgrading TMS to different version, take note of the requirements of the newer versions of Windows Server as well as SQL Server.
Also, you said you're going to TMS 14.5, why not upgrade to the most recent release which is 14.6.1?

  • TelePresence Conductor with Cisco TMS Deployment - the missing part

    Hello,
I am looking at the deployment guides for Telepresence Conductor XC3.0:
Cisco TelePresence Conductor with Cisco Unified CM Deployment Guide (XC3.0)
Cisco TelePresence Conductor with Cisco TMS Deployment Guide (XC3.0 with TMS 14.6)
To setup the TMS, the Conductor and CUCM for scheduled meetings.
The Doc #2, explains how to add the Telepresence Conductor to the TMS, create the scheduled conference alias and configure the conductor on the TMS
The Doc #1, explains how to setup the CUCM and the Conductor for ad-hoc and meet-me conference.
So it looks that there's a part missing. How do we setup the CUCM for the scheduled conferences managed by the Conductor?
With the Doc#2, I can create my scheduled meetings and get a conference SIP address, but how do my endpoints registered on my CUCM route to them. I guess I have to create a SIP trunk on my CUCM but to where? the main conductor IP ? A new location with a new VIP pointing to the same template as the conference alias ?
Another strange thing in the Doc #1, on page 87 of the documentation for Conductor XC3.0 it says:
    "Scheduled conferences
Scheduled conferences are not supported in TelePresence Conductor version XC2.4. It will be supported for Personal Multiparty Advanced in a future version of TelePresence Conductor software."

    Hi Matthieu,
I guess I have to create a SIP trunk on my CUCM but to where?
You would use a rendezvous location and build a SIP trunk to that location from CUCM to Conductor.
Another strange thing in the Doc #1
this is specific to the Personal Multiparty Advanced feature, looks like the version wasn't updated in the doc to XC3.0 for this line.

    Hi Angus,
You can download LMS 3.2 from www.cisco.com\go\lms
At the bottom of the page, Under the Featured Contents , click on Evaluate LMS Solutions > on the next page click on --> Network Management Evaluation Products .
    There you will find :-
CiscoWorks LAN Management Solution (WINDOWS OS) 3.2
CiscoWorks LAN Management Solution (SOLARIS OS) 3.2
License of LMS 3.1 will be valid for LMS 3.2 as well. Though its evaluation version but its complete setup, so if  you will run the setup on top of LMS 3.1, this will installed LMS 3.2 as complete setup and license version.

  • Cisco ASA 5510 Backup Interface configuration

    Hi Experts,
I am a newbie with Cisco Firewalls, pls help.
We have a BSNL Leased Line of 2MBPS with few Static IP's of Which 2 IP's are configured in Firewall 1 For the Outside Interface and one for publishing the DMZ server. Most of the times due to some reasons or the other the BSNL line is going down. so now I need to configure one another TATA Broadband 1MBPS Dialup Line as a Backup for the BSNL Line so as to provide a uninterupted Internet to our users.
    Pls guide me the Steps
    Thank in Advance.

  • Cisco ise upgrading and licences

I nedd to upgrade from version 1.1.2 patch 4 to 1.1.3
the deployment is distributed so the split deployment technique needs to be used:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/ise/1.1.1/upgrade_guide/upg_dis_dep.html#wp1052969
the guide is quite hard to follow as there are some licensing informations missing that can potentially cause service downs:
in particular my questions reguarding the guide are:
--- OUR licence is registered to the primary PAN node only----
    1) Deregistering primary PSN "D" node : what licence it will use? the inherited (10000 endpoints) or will it lose the licence completely and lock the network authentications?
    2) When node "B" will be deregistered and will become standalone what happens to its licence ? will it be lost? and what will happen to the node "D" when added back to the node "B" ?
    3) when I will switch back node "A" (after upgrade and registration to node "B") to its previous primary PAN state it is stated that the licence needs to be reloaded in it cause it was lost when adding it to node "B".... and in the meanwhile? no node will authenticate cause the primary node is without a licence?
    TY

    Giuliano,
De-registered node will always use it's own license, i.e. it becomes standalone box without knowledge or information of anything around it. Either the evalutaion or whichever license you have supplied it with.
License enforcement is performed by active admin node in cluster, according to its license.
    Have a look at:
    http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCug04405
I don't think license needs to be reloaded, but that may be just my memory not serving me. I'll double-check that one.

  • Cisco ASA Upgrade from 7.0(8) to 8.2(1)

Hi,   i need to upgrade my 5510 ASA from 7.0(8) to 8.2(1)       ( Please note its different query from my last thread)
what i found online is i will have to do this upgrade in sequence, that is
    7.0.x -> 7.2.x --> 8.0.x --> 8.2.1
    is that correct?
or i will go to 7.1.x first? like this
    7.0.x--> 7.1.x -> 7.2.x --> 8.0.x --> 8.1.x--> 8.2.1
Please guide, Also i am assuming, reboot required after every upgrade right?

ok, i found something on another Cisco document. that is what i thought
To ensure that your configuration updates  correctly, you must upgrade to each major release in turn. Therefore, to  upgrade from Version 7.0 to Version 8.2, first upgrade from 7.0 to 7.1,  then from 7.1 to 7.2, and finally from Version 7.2 to Version 8.2 (8.1  was only available on the ASA 5580). "

  • How often does cisco do upgrades to their kickstart and OS? Is there a bulletin date or some kind of notification?

I am starting to work with Cisco Switches, I have 12 Nexus 6000 series and 2 Nexus 7000 series (core switches) I just upgraded to kickstart 7.1(0)N1(1). and OS 7.1(0)N1(1)......However I want to know if there is a specific date or dates that Cisco releases new upgrades so I can be prepare. Can someone help me with this? Thank you so much.

Not that I know of, however it's not a bad suggestion. I'd recommend posting to www.apple.com/feedback. Don't expect to hear back though.

  • Cisco UC520 Upgrade

    Hi,
i have a UC520، and it show the below error:
    "Oct  6 09:47:31.695: %SCHED-2-EDISMSCRIT: Critical/high priority process VTSP may not dismiss. -Process= "VTSP", ipl= 0, pid= 236,  -Traceback= 0x80E728F8 0x8209D2D8 0x80E5ACA0 0x80E8BFD0 0x80E8A9E8 0x80E8BAF0 0x8213A018 0x8213A278 0x8213A628 0x8213131C 0x82132600 0x80B47F24 0x80851530 0x80859A04 0x82DB8848 0x82DB8FB0"
And i was read the error related to bug, and the upgrade is the solution of this bug, so we will go into upgrade, does i need to upgrade the whole package like below link :
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-10315
or i can just upgrade the IOS? and if i will upgrade the IOS deos it affect the system Cisco Unity Express.
The Second question,if i need to upgrade the whole package,  does the upgrade need license?
the Licence on my UC500 like below:
    sh license feature
Feature name             Enforcement  Evaluation  Clear Allowed  Enabled
    uc500-16u-upgrade        yes          yes         no             no
    uc500-32u-upgrade        yes          yes         no             no
    uc500-24u-to-48u-upgrade yes          yes         no             no
    uc500-48u-upgrade        yes          yes         no             no
    uc500-48u-to-64u-upgrade yes          yes         no             no
    sh platform software license
    Upgrade license              : uc500-48u-to-64u-upgrade
License status               : Not in Use
    License UDI                  : UC520-48U-T/E/F-K9:FHK1350F06G
    Maximum User Licenses        : 56
    Used User Licenses           : 38
    Available User Licenses      : 18

So if i upgrade to the "uc500-advipservicesk9-mz.151-4.M6" IOS this will upgrade the CME, and it may solve this Error.
but if i will upgrade the whole UC500 does this require license?

  • Cisco IRONPORT UPGRADE keep failed

    Hi all,
I try to upgrade one of the ironport s170 version 7.1.3-031, but it keep failed.. and the upgrade process very slow. Any idea??

    Hey Vince,
I was actually trying to get your view of what seems to be the issue and I highlighted the ETA because that was a big number.
I would recommend you to start fresh. Reboot the box, and try the upgrade again. The reboot would clean the temporaty files if any could be interfering.
Try the upgrade from the CLI and choose the most recent version of AsyncOS available.
Upgrade issues are usually but not always related to bandwidth control, proxy, network latency, file system corruption. A packet capture could help to identify proxy limiting and some other network related issues but you can also try Local Upgrade.
How do I get a packet capture (tcpdump) from a Web Security Appliance or a Email Security Appliance?

From the screenshot also, we cannot get the current version you have running but I am guessing it is an old version. Another reason to support the upgrade. It is possible your appliance is not listed as authorised to get upgrades. If you cannot upgrade using Local Upgrade process described in the article above, you should definitively open a support ticket so the engineers can check the appliance's status and assist you further.
    I hope this helps.

  • Cisco prime configuration backup

    Hi There,
In Cisco prime infrastructure there are two places that I can do backup of the WLCs.
    1. Operate -> Configuration Archive & run schedule archive
    2. Administration -> background Task -> Controller Configuration Backup
Can someone tell me what's the different between these two? What would be the issue if I have enable only option 1 not 2? If I want to get the running configuration of the controller to my PC How I would be able to do that?
    Thx
    Sara

An Intelligent Network Management Application doesn't have to depend on most basic tasks for user input.
It should be smart enough to start managing devices for configurations, inventory and Fault Management out of the box, as soon as the devices are added.
Under Mega-Menu like --> Design, Deploy and Operate their are many tasks which are user deployed and as per the network preferences and requirement.
Under Background Tasks we have System Defined Tasks to start many such device management activities by default.
Also, under Background task, you can configure an external TFTP/FTP server to archive the backup of the controllers configuration.
    -Thanks
    Vinod
