Cisco tool for building router/switch configurations

Is there a tool on Cisco website that lets you build your own configurations of Cisco routers etc prior to you purchasing them? i.e. Giving you a complete list of part IDs ?

Hi
Your question is not clear , if you asked about a tool which can help you to do a configuration for your purchase order for routers , switches , any solution for Cisco . You can configure your chassis , cards , SFPs, Power , and so on. Please use the below link:-

DW is an industry standard, pro-level software.  It can do as little or as much as your coding skills allow for. It supports modern X/HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, PHP, ASP & ColdFusion.
Unlike plain text editors (NotePad), DW has powerful site management tools to assist you.  And it is very well supported by 3rd party extensions to enhance your productivity.  If you're serious about web development, you won't go wrong with DW .

  • XJC Tool - For building Java classes from Schema

    Hi all,
I am using XJC tool for Building java classes from Schema.
Can we have any other tool for generating java classes from Schema?
    Thanks in advance,
    typurohit

Solved my own problem and forgot to post the answer: the "xsd:import" is also considered as a targetNamespace, so each xsd:import needs a package specified as well when using oracg. It would be helpful if the Oracle documentation had stated that, but it does not point this out.

  • Tool for building a java application's installer

I'm searching for a tool for creating an installer for a java application. Just found InstallAnywhere... It looks very attractive, but it costs... was wondering if is there anything free.

Well to be brutally honest, I think you'd be better off sticking with Flash if this is a critical project... it would be a great exercise for learning Java, but would probably take w-a-y-y-y-y-y more effort than doing a similar multimedia presentation in flash.
(I haven't used Director, so can only talk about Flash here) - as you know, Flash is really a very powerful authoring tool that allows the user to do very complex animations very easily, whereas Java is a lower-level programming language that is infinitely more flexible, but comparatively more developer-intensive when it comes to producing user interface stuff. Java might be a viable option if you have to do stuff that flash can't, like very complex interactivity, or pulling info from a database etc (although maybe Flash 5 can even talk to databases now??? I don't know)
You can get tools to help you build Java user interfaces using "drag & drop" methods, and these tools will automatically generate the code for you, but (a) this means you're not really learning java, and (b) flash would still be less labor-intensive (and probably more impressive to your end users)
In summary - I'm not knocking Java or Flash - I love 'em both; it's just that Flash is better suited for certain things, and Java is better suited for others...
PS - nice website, but Portfolios shouldn't have an apostrophe before the "s" ;-)

  • What is the Cisco tool for measuring traffic of wireless endpoint users

    Hi Experts
I am looking to start a Mesh WISP utilizing Cisco Aironet products (1500 series) and would like to know what is the best Cisco (or if the case has to be "non Cisco") product for measuring the amount of traffic from wireless clients connected to my Cisco Mesh.
Basically I want to be able to say User xyz has this IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx how much have they uploaded and how much have they downloaded this month.
This also then allows me to integrate multiple business mobile devices into their broadband plans which is something no-one yet offers in my City.
From what I have read Netflow is the measurement technology but how do I take this data and aggregate it by IP / User for billing purposes. Is there something better at it than Netflow? Your expert opinions and suggestions are much appreciated.
    Regards
    Ty

  • Cisco asa 5505 with Router 881w Configuration Help

    Hello all,
I'm having trouble setting up a second vlan to route to the internet. I have a Cisco ASA 5505 connected to my ISP(OUTSIDE) and a Cisco 881w (INSIDE) router in the back of my firewall. My vlan 10 with the network 192.168.5.1 255.255.255.0 works with pat, however vlan 15 that is on my 881w router does not route to the internet at all. I can only ping from 192.168.15.15 network to 192.168.5.1 I would like some advice on how can I make this set up work. Attached with this discussion is a picture of my topology.

  • Cisco Architectures for 2950/2960 Switches and 2800 Routers

    Hello,
I have a question regarding the architectures of these three series, i.e. the type of switch fabric they use and the general architecture (first, second, or third generation regarding the sharing of the bus, memory and the type of switch fabric). We have so far learned these three generation and our assumption is that the only generation being produced now is the third (crossbar) generation, but so far we have to information to back up this claim. We are doing a study on buffer sizing in edge routers/switches so knowing the exact architecture of each model is our priority.
Thank you for reading and thanks in advance for the answers.

Exact details on Cisco switch and/or router architecture can be hard to come by, as much of the information, Cisco appears to consider proprietary.
Most switches have some kind of cross bar architecture.  Overall bandwidth tends to be higher in later variants (to support higher port densities and/or higher bandwidth ports).  Later switch architectures are less likely to block at ports.  However, there are often other architecture changes which may improve or worsen performance.  For example, 2960 tends to have more fabric bandwidth than the 2950, but the 2960 has different port buffer management (I believe) from the 2950, often resulting in more port drops with bursty traffic.
True routers, like the 2800 series, I believe use a PCI bus, with additional bandwidth restrictions to the modules.  They will well support the WAN bandwidths they are recommended for, but they do not well support LAN port bandwidths.  Again, specific architecture details can be hard to come by.

  • Suggestions for new router/switch

I have a wired Ethernet network in my office, and have been using a Linksys BEFSR81 router with it since installation. The following machines are connected:
    MacPro early 2009 OSX.5.7
    G5 2.0 dual OSX.5.7
iMac flat panel 700 mHz OSX.4.11 (2 identical machines)
    HP 2300n printer
    Brother multifunction printer/fax/copier
The router is dying and needs to be replaced. The whole network is hard wired but I could use a wireless router (e.g. Linksys WRT310) with a switch (I need at least 6-7 ports total. The selection of wired-only routers is very limited; what would people suggest for replacing the Linksys BEFSR81?

Check these pages out first on how to install. NOTE, to look for the"GL" version, as the G, GL, GS, GX are all on the same page.
    http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Installation
    http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_WRT54G/GL/GS/GX
    http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Index:FAQ
For the GL, you need to flash 2 firmwares initially in the beginning.
You first need to flash a mini generic (or micro); just go with mini, to the router first. Then after the mini is installed, flash the standard generic.
To easily find the right versions. Go to the dd-wrt homepage, and then look for the tab that says "supported hardware". Click on that and type in: WRT54GL (which is your router name, the one I recommended). The model GL model will show up, and click on it. There you will have all the firmwares that can be used with the WRT54GL.
There are a few different ones, but the ones you need to download are the "mini generic" AND "standard generic" (non-usb standard generic, if you're connecting through ethernet. Only if you use usb to connect to the internet then the usb version). Look at the file name to confirm.
Flash mini first, then standard second. And you only have to do this once.
Make sure to read through the above installation guide carefully, and just basically take your time. Some things to look out for are mainly just 2 things:
    (1) Doing 30/30/30 hard-resets before AND after flashing.
    (2) Use Internet Explorer to do the initial flash. DO NOT use firefox (maybe not even safari). This is only for the initial flash with the linksys firmware on. Once dd-wrt firmware is on, any browser will do. This is in the install guide, but basically any PC with IE will do fine. If you don't have access to a PC, you can even use the "old" IE for mac. That will work too.
Again just take your time, read things, and double check them. It's actually a very easy process after you've done it once.

  • Router/Switch Configuration Generator

I need to generate the configuration for around 4000 routers and 4000 switches. Is there any software or scrip which can help me to generate the automatic configuration for all.

Scripting of some sort is probably the best, if not only, practical answer. More important, in my opinion, is the process supporting it. Figure out what you want standards wise - single image to the extent hw supports it, common global and security factors. It could possible be pushed out via CW; most people would agree that a local script might better suit your needs.

  • PaCPAN: tool for building Perl packages for Pacman from CPAN

    http://xyne.archlinux.ca/info/pacpan
    *edit*
Pacpan functionality has evolved as of version 4.0. CPAN distribution and metadata handling has improved and there are now functions which can query installed packages to determine their adherence to the packaging guidelines.
Building packages with dependency resolution etc has been move to bauerbill, which can now build CPAN packages using standard pacman options, e.g. "bauerbill -S perl-foo-bar" or "bauerbill -S Foo::Bar".
