Cisco Touch 8 on MX Product

I have a customer that has an MX200 who's touch panel 8 keeps saying "no network connection. I know that inside this "kit" is an SX20 codec. At first, I blamed my customer's network because I thought that the touch 8 was being connected thru the customer's network to get to the SX20 being that there is no second ethernet port to connect the panel directly in the codec (like with a C40). To my surprise, the Touch 8 gets connected on the same type of connector as an EX product (big block connector) behind the MX200 unit. Since there is no second ethernet port on the SX20 for touch panel pairing and it's using that big connector, I wonder how the whole thing works internally. Is there a network switch inside the MX200 to allow connections of both the SX20 and the Touch panel 8? I tried looking for documentation on this and can't seem to find anything...

I have found the Root cause of the issue, which the switch's Auto QoS policy is untrusting the endpoint for a short period of time and each time this happens we lose network connectivity  see below:

  • Cisco Touch loses static IP configuration

    I have a Cisco Touch that keeps losing the static IP configuration randomly and then displays a message to configure the manual IP settings, once this is done the system connects with the SX20 no problem.
    This happens once a day. 

    What version of software are you running on the SX20?  There were some improvements with regards to Static IP addresses and the Touch in one of the more recent version (TC7.1.0 from memory) - the latest being TC7.2.0.
    If you have an active service contract on your device you should be able to download the updated software from the Cisco web site.
    If you don't have a service contract, contact the TAC, and reference one of the recent security advisories (ie http://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-20140605-openssl) to get a "free" upgrade to TC7.x as per the "customers without service contracts" section.

    Yes, the color is just a color applied (anodized)  to the aluminum back. However, it is more durable than paint.

  • Cisco Linksys Routers and Apple Products?

    I have to seriously ask if there is simply an incompatibility between Cisco Linksys and Apple products?
    I have both the WRT600N and the new E3000.  Both are exhibiting the same behavior with my Apple products.
    On the wireless connection, I am unable to get a download rate from the Internet, higher then maybe 1.2 - 1.5Mbps.  Most of the time it is far lower.  I am always using the same site for testing.  www.speedtest.net and I always use the same testing server for Dallas, TX.
    My ISP is Clear, and when going to www.speedtest.net while using the wired connection on my MacBook Pro, I get a download speed of between 5.5 and 8.2 Mbps.
    The upload speed is not changed whether I am using the wired or wireless connection.  I also notice the severe difference in speed when I use the Wi-Fi on my iPhone.  My 3G connection is faster then the Wi-Fi...
    So, is there an advanced config for the wireless that makes it behave better with Apple devices?
    I have locked the config so far to 802.11g on the 2.4Ghz transceiver and 802.11n on the 5Ghz receiver.  I have also set it not to broadcast the BSSID for either as I live in an apartment complex and I do not want to advertise my network to everyone else.  I use WPA personal on the 802.11g network and WPA2 Personal on the 802.11n network.
    The settings on the advanced wireless screen in the router config for my E3000 are the defaults.
    I have tried nearly everything I can think of.  I am now beseeching the help of the community at large in the hopes of gleaning some information that I did not already have.  Also I hate the new Cisco Connect app.
    On a side note, I was very disappointed to learn that while the WRT600N supported IPv6, the E3000 does not.  As a result it seems my wired connection on the MacBook Pro is not performing as well as it did on the WRT600N.
    If anyone from Cisco see's this, PLEASE re-add support for IPv6 to your routers.  It makes no sense to move backwards now.

    Which band you are using to connect the wireless computer...?
    Is your other computers are working fine...?
    If you are using 5GHz on the router to connect your Mac computer then,make sure the wireless adapter does support  5GHz.
    Try the following settings...
    Keep the Network Mode as "Mixed".For 2.4GHz...Set the Radio Band to Wide-40MHz and change the Wide channel to 9 and Standard Channel to 11-2.462GHz..For 5GHz...Set the Radio Band to Wide-40MHz and change the Wide channel to159 and Standard Channel to 161-5.805GHz.Click on Advanced Wireless Settings...Change the Beacon Interval to 75,Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304,Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 and Click on Save Settings...
    Now,power cycle the router and check.

    We are not saying that the 15454 is the box for you. The distance and your expected wavelength growth helps determine what system to pick.
    You mentioned your wanting to transport 1G links as well, then maybe a passive CWDM solution would work (see link below). This solution will also allow for a 1310nm channel to be added that could possibly be used with your 10G X2 module. There are also options to integrate with DWDM to add additional wavelengths (2nd link below).

  • How to connect Wireless microphone to Cisco Telepresence SX20

    Does anyone try to connect Wireless microphone to the second microphone input (Cisco Table Mic 20 microphone is connected to the first microphone input)? Is this connection OK if I want to use both 2 micphone types?

    I have connected single- and dual-channel Revolabs microphones the C20, with very good success.  I have also connected a single-channel Revolabs and a second connection to ClearOne Converge Pro DSP, also with very good success.  I have not tried to connect a TelePresence 20 Microphone on one input and a single-channel Revolabs on the other.  My customers either require a totally wireless solution or a wireless and an installed microphone solution.  We are just starting to order the SX20, so I will be testing wired and wireless combinations to validate their compatibility.
    The Revolabs receiver has a 3.5mm TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve), while the C20/SX20 has a 3.5mm TRRS (Tip-Ring-Ring-Sleeve).  Revolabs makes a cable that resolves the differences between them but it does not transmit the muting function on the Revolabs microphone to the codec.  Muting takes place by using the remote or the Cisco touch panel.

  • Cisco SD2008 v3 switch dropping connections every few hours

    Hi, I have a Cisco SD2008 v3 switch at the office that routinely drops connections every few hours and must be turned off/on to get back up. It doesn't seem to drop all connections, but some boxes plain and simply become unreachable.
    I've double-checked that there aren't any looping cables. The network infrastructure wasn't touched, as we had a cheap unbranded switch before (which amusingly didn't have any problems other than an annoying fan) and just put the Cisco in.
    I've googled a bit and found some references to this problem, which leads me to believe it's reasonably widespread. Is there a firmware update of some sort for this equipment? Any ideas?

    If there is a known problem with this older product it should be replaced.  You cannot update the unmanaged switch with new firmware as I guess that can only be done in a factory.
    But the older SD2008  has been refreshed by  the new  technology SD2008T  (100 series)  which are really quite advanced compared to the older SD series switches.

  • Config air-lap1041n-e-k9 with cisco 5500 (5508) series wireless controller. how to?

    Hi!
    I try to configure a Cisco 5508 Wireless controller and 25 Air-lap1041 to use as VoIP and data. I read documents, manuals, etc, but the AP doesn't charge the configuration, or not conect with the Wireless Controller, why? No Radius server present, only WPA security.howto, please...
    I try to put a static ip in the LAP, with lwapp or capwap command, (LWAPP/CAPWAP ap ip address direccion mascara) and the AP returns "You should configure Domain and Name Server from controller CLI/GUI." and i can't change the name of the AP (Command is disabled).

    Tengo que configurar un cisco 5508 wireless controller con 25 air-lap1041n, para usarlo como acceso de datos y voz. ¿Cómo lo hago? He leído manuales, y seguido las instrucciones, pero el punto de acceso parace que no es capaz de cargar el perfil. No hay servidor radius, solo la configuración de una clave wpa. Alguién me puede indicar pasos, Gracias

    I buy a gigabit switch. I connect the service-port to gigabit switch, and laptop to gigabit switch. I used 192.168.1.x ip address (192.168.1.157 to service-port and 192.168.1.233 to wired port on laptop, well, the laptop has two ip adress, 192.168.1.233 and 209.165.200.2, and the laptop works ok. Ping to 209.165.200.230 -ip address of management interface- and ping to 209.165.200.203 -ip address for AP, is assigned by  DHCP of WLC. And i connect the ap to gigabit switch, and the wlc assigns well an ip direction.
    I post the run-config and sysinfo log. The gigabit switch is tp-link model tl-sg1005d, no configuration.
    Before the logs, I see this message from AP:

    He comprado un switch gigabit. Conecto el service-port al switch gigabit y el portátil también (por cable). Uso como direcciones ip el rango 192.168.1.x (192.168.1.157 asignado al service-port y 192, 168.1.233 al portátil, bueno, el portátil tiene dos direcciones, la dicha anteriormente y la 209.165.200.2) El portátil funciona bien, hace ping al 209.165.200.230 - la ip de la management interface, y a 209.165.200.203 - ip asignada al AP por el DHCP del WLC. He conectado el AP al swtich gigabit, y el dhcp del wlc asigna correctamente una dirección ip.
    Añado a continuación los resultados de los comandos "show run-config" y "show sysinfo". El switch es un TP-LINK modelo TL-S1005D, sin necesidad de configuración.
    Antes de mostrar los resultados de los comandos, he visto el siguiente mensaje en el log del AP:
