I am looking for any training on Developing solutions for Cisco IP Phones.
I have done a small bit of work in this area but would like to find an offical training course.
Does anyone know of any CISCO courses? or even the names of the courses.

I think you'll have a little problem getting this running. There is huge interest in this topic but to be fair, Cisco has only just now (the past two weeks) released the 5.0 course materials to the instructors. So far as I know, me and two other instructors are the only instructors in Europe which are both certified to teach this class as well as actually have hands on experience with Director. In addition, we can't as instructors get our hands on the actual product outside of dCloud to actually update our knowledge for v5.0 because of the insanely stupid terms involved.
I have been asked three times so far to deliver this course. I've said no 3 times. I wouldn't even consider it without a few weeks to prepare, so I personally won't deliver it before March. There are some guys who like reading slides that will do it sooner, but you may have issues with getting questions answered.

Cisco Agent Desktop - Displaying Queue Stats

We have been told by a Cisco trainer that adding number of calls in queue to CAD should be possible. However, he said it is necessary to first retrieve the data from the database.
Our wallboard outputs combined statistical data to a straight text file, as well as to an HTML formatted file. Based on what I've read in the CDA admin guide, we could probably display the HTML in CADs internal browser. However, we would like to know if we can go a more direct route, placing the data somewhere within the CAD itself (see green arrows).
We utilize multiple queues for our team, but would want to display the combined calls in queue.
We are using CAD 8.5, Enhanced.
How would we go about this?

If all you're looking for is the sum total of calls in queue, just use the Agent Real Time Displays button and choose Contact Service Queue Statistics Display. It will show the sum of calls across all CSQs the agent is skilled in and is updated at the same frequency CSD is.
Failing that, you could write to Enterprise Data (left column in your screenshot); however, this would be a static point in time when the Get Reporting Statistics step is executed within the script (i.e. before the agent takes the call). I would recommend against this because agents will be looking at this at the end of a call to decide whether it's appropriate to go on break or not. In fact, the data wouldn't have been updated since before the agent answered the call.
The embedded browser is probably your best bet. Point it at the same HTML URL your wallboard product is showing.

Error in communicating with DCR server (Operations Manager 8.5)

Hi,
I just installed Operations Manager 8.5 on a new server. And, although I'm able to login to the OM, I'm unable to add any devices to the DCR. When attempting to add the device the following error is returned:
"Error in communicating with DCR Server
DCR Server may be down. Please start DCR server and then refresh the page. "
The same error is returned when an attempt is made toaccess the screen to change the mode (standalone/master/slave.) However, according to pdshow output DCRServer is up and running:
Process= DCRServer
State = Running normally
Pid    = 9220
RC     = 0
Signo = 0
Start = 7/29/2011 2:46:33 PM
Stop   = Not applicable
Core   = Not applicable
Info   = DCRServer is up and running
I've browsed the site and tried all suggestions for LMS since I didn't see any for OM. No success.
Any/all suggestions are much appreciated.

It appears the answer is rather simple. According to a trusted source who works for a Cisco training partner, one must wait before even attempting a login into OM.
Apparently, it takes about 25 to 30 minutes for all the services to start. Any attempt to login to the OM may corrupt the database. This is based on CiscoWorks. When command "net stop crmdmgtd" is issued it takes about 5 minutes to stop the service and a confirmaiton that the service was stopped is displayed. However, when starting the service with "net start crmdmgtd" there is no confirmation that it started successfully. One may look into ":\ program Files\CSCOpx\objects\dmgt\ready" directory for a _lock file." As long as the lock file is present one shouldn't use the browser to login. However, I was advised the best approach is to restart the service and give it 30 minutes.

Web package, containing mix of html/js/swf, works off remote server but not locally

I have been using Cisco certification training materials for
months now and have had no problems. Except today.
The front index.html page, which links to swf content,
stopped redirecting me to individual chapters.
Normally, I get a front page, containing flash animation, and
a drop down list of chapters. On picking a chapter, a new,
full-screen browser window opens up. Now, I get the front page,
with its flash animation, but when I pick a chapter, nothing
happens. (The big window does not open up.)
I am using Firefox 2.0.0.13 on an intel-based macbook pro.
I have flash player MAC 9,0,124,0 installed (it was ,115 but
I installed the new version in the hopes that it would fix the
problem - to no avail).
Nothing in my machine or setup has changed.
The Error Console of firefox reports:

This seems to be a javascript problem ? But javascript does
not give errors on other pages. I think it may be a problem of
interaction between javascript and flash.
NOTHING has changed on my laptop since I last used the Cisco
training materials on 10 April. This is very baffling to me!
My hunch is that some software was updated on my machine -
probably flash software - and this has impacted the application.
I have tried the following:
- tried running the material on Safari, but had exactly the
same behaviour as above. However, I never tried running the
material on Safari, so I cannot say that it worked before.
- tried running the material on a Windows Parallels emulator
on the mac, and had exactly the same behaviour as above. Again, it
had never worked on that platform/environment.
- i installed a debug version of the flash player - there
were no odd messages in the log at all.
- i uninstalled flash and then reinstalled an older version -
same behaviour.
- i noticed that the Error console lists a lot of warning
messages to do with Javascript.
- i ran the materials off the official Cisco server, not from
a local copy as detailed above. i had no problems (a big window
opened up).
HELP!

ISE 1.1 implementation

I am new to Cisco ISE and attened a Cisco training last month on the same. Now i have been assigned for an implementation for 2 3315 applainces with advanced licenses for 100 users. Kindly someone tell me how many days it might take to comple the installation? Anyone with experience on the same please help me.

For 2 3315 appliance with 100 users you will be using the following scenario:
High Availability:
You will be opting for HA & you will make each node worke as standalone devices that is all monitoring, admin and police personas in the same node.One node will be primary and the other will be secondary.The secondary node will have to be registered to the primary and all the replication will be done on the secondary as soon as it gets registered and when primary node goes down, you have to manually set the secondary as primary.

Aironet 1261 AP Problem with speed.

I appreciate I am not Cisco trained and probably should have never purchased such a piece of kit, but my SMB run from home needed stability so I thought I would try to enter the world of Cisco.
I have spent the week setting up the Aironet AP 1261, Standalone, Power through traditional adapter, 2.4ghz only. 1261 being single band.
I have researched each setting and option as much as possible but I am still only getting 65mbps max, I believe I should be able to achieve 144mbps with this hardware. Is that correct?
I have used a combination of the web interface and IOS via Telnet. (being a server administrator using SSH, Telnet was ok for me to pick up quickly).
I understand I need WAPv2, with AES CCM Encryption on an Open Security network in order to achieve the speed I am after. These are all applied as far as I can tell.
WMM is the problem for me. (Also a requirement I understand). The thing is I have found WMM in two locations.
1. Under the Network interface setup, which seems to related to the World Mode Management. (off, legacy and dot11d).
2. WMM is also Wifi MultiMedia. Which is on.
I can only choose Legacy for the WMM in place 1 I mentioned, as the Country Codes are not populated which means I am unable to select dot11d.
Any help appreciated getting me to 144mbps.
If you also spot anything else dodgy with my amateur attempt of the config I love to know

The HTC one is an 802.11ac device with a single spatial stream. In order to get faster than 72Mbps you need to use wider channels which are only available in 5Ghz.
If you had a 1262, you could set the dot11radio 1 to 40Mhz channel and that would enable 144. Moving to 802.11ac you can go to 80Mhz channels for even faster rates.
Since you have a 2.4Ghz only AP, you will be limited to 72 with this client.

Using student guides to walk through an implementation vs. using online documentation

Hello,
I am a student, my experience in the field is limited, but I personally feel that the student guides are far easier to understand and grasp than many pieces of online documentation located on Cisco's website. But now there is a trend not to create student PDFs for student guides. So I wanted to get some feedback as to how people feel about this issue.
My feeling is that you can't use physical books in the field to implement projects its just too inconvenient to carry all those books and they are not searchable. Also the online resources on Cisco's website don't read anything like the student guides. The student guides tend to group similar information together and they tend to highlight information with a power point feel to them. They also tend to be written in a more easy to read manner.
But again if you don't have a digital copy however well its written doesn't really matter because you won't be using it.

Quitting job - What about my certs?

I think it is really going to depend on the company. A previous employer had a similar policy. Some folks left after getting their Cisco training. The people that left, wound up having to reimburse the company for the specialized training and for the cert cost (since the employees were reimbursed for it). But this was a larger company and had policies like that in place.
A smaller company may be more flexible. I think whether they remember or not is going to be the question.

I am going to quit my job for greater and better things, not really but better pay.... anyways.
I acquired several certifications during my time working here and we have this little clause in the 'employee handbook' that states that you have to stay at least 12 months after you received your certification or you have to pay the price of the cert back, and it is not 12 months for me. I can pay them back or they can keep my last paycheck, whatever.
The important question is, they used my MCSE to get a higher partner status with Microsoft, how can I or what is a good way for me to tell in my 2 weeks notice that I expect them to disassociate themselves from any of my certifications?
Has anyone else been in that boat?

QoS - Create class-map while inside policy-map

The cisco training notes for CME claim you can create a non-existant class-map while in the policy-map. Here is the what the notes say
router(config-pmap)#class class-map-name condition
? Optionally you can define a new class-map by entering the condition after the name of the new class map

WLC DMZ licensing

Quick question:
If I were to put a WLC in a DMZ to act as an anchor for guest access, wireless primarily possibly wired later, as there are no APs connecting directly to the WLC I wouldn't need a high capacity WLC would I? Bandwidth, processing power and number of SSIDs would be the limitations.
If sopme one could confirm that would be great.

Hello!, Trying to connect to my wifi, i have no idea what to do

Anyway I was hoping someone could help me work out my wifi issues
Basically I will see my wireless network appear and when I click it it works for a few moments trying to connect but produces the error "could not connect to network Name". I'm not really sure what to do I tried resetting my router still no luck.
Any thoughts?

Well Im not without complete knowledge of routing I have some cisco training infact..go figure : P. Anyway I tried some other suggestions like resetting to factory defaults on my router...no luck...changed the MTU from 1500 to 600 no luck...I don't know how to disable MAC adress filtering on this particular router...its a netgear wpn824. That is if that is the issue...I also tried to statically assign an adress to my pod, that matched mine I didnt get that to work either.. I do plan to visit some kind of hotspot today..but any ideas? sorry the first post was vauge.
