Cisco Unified  Personnel Communicator sociability Problem with ESSO-LM

Hi All,
First post of the forum got a curly one for you all.
We are piloting ESSO-LM v11.1.1.5.0 and also piloting Cisco Unified Personnel Communicator (CUPC) 8.5.1.17660 on Windows XP SP3. We are experiencing an error message and BSOD. The BSOD only occurs if theuser selects 'ok' to error message. I am wondering if anyone else running ESSO-LM experiencing this problem or is it unique to our environment?
The following error message appears when the end use unlocks the workstation.
The error message is;
Title: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Content: Runtime Error!
Program:\??\C:\Windows\system32\winlogon.exe
The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the applications support team for more information.
The testing I have done;
I have uninstalled ESSO-LM and left CUPC installed error no longer occurs.
I have uninstalled CUPC and left ESSO-LM installed error no longer occurs.
No dump file is created when Windows BSOD's nor are any Windows event created when the error message appears. As ESSO-LM is not crashing there are no logs created in C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Passlogix. Also their is no indication of errors in the CUPC logs.
If anyone can offer any advise on this problem we are experiencing I would appreciate it?

Just an update for you all. We have logged a support case but tech support have not been able to resolve the problem. It appears that if you are running SSO-LM, SSPR and Cisco CUPC they all hook into the Windows GINA. Uninstalling SSPR and changing the SSO-LM install to support Network Provider not Gina Provider does not produce the error. Not really a fix as SSPR is core to our environment.

  • IPhone - Cisco Unified Mobile Communicator

I used to have Cisco Mobile 8.0  with ( Cisco Dual mode for iphone devices ) that start with TCT<username>
Within this App, I had to configure this in the settings of the app on the Iphone
    Device ID : TCT....
    TFTP : cucm
The Mobile 8.0 was working fine
I cant find Mobile 8.0 on the apps store anymore,  I can find Cisco Unified Mobile Communicator,  it seems to be the new version
    now it ask
    user
    password
    phone number
    server
    port
And I cant make it work.. anyone have some experience to share with this new application ?

Richard is correct. The CIMC app was used with the Cisco Unified Mobiliy Advantage server which has long been EoL. The app remains in the store only for customers who have this solution in production.
Cisco Mobile 8.1 was renamed to Cisco Jabber and more recently Cisco Jabber Voice to distinguish it from the unified VoIP+IM client that is now called Cisco Jabber.

  • Cisco Unified Personal Communicator doesn't start

    Hello,
We have deployed in our company the CUPC 7.2 and it works well with all users except a few. When they try to start the application, this error message appears:
"Cisco Unified Personal Comunicator was unable to load the necessary language resources. You may need to re-install to correct this problem. Aborting the application"
Of course we have tried to reinstall but it never works, we tried at first with an older version and the error was the same. Any ideas?

Yes, it was a problem with the language of Windows, it was configured with one language that doesn't come with the language pack of the CUPC.
You have to check on the control panel, regional configuration and languages and check if it's configured with one of the supported languages.
Let me know if it worked for you
    Regards,
    Daniel

  • Question in Cisco Unified Meeting Place 8.5 with Webex integration

    Greetings,
Let us say that I have the following requirements for fresh installation:
    UCS C210-M2
    CUWL-Pro for users (700 users)
    CUCM 8.6
    Cisco unified Meeting Place 8.5
My concern is about Meeting place; one of the requirments is to order Meeting Place 8.5 for local (on-premises) audio conferencing, and use Cisco Webex (cloud) for Web & Video conferencing.
    I have the following questions:
    - What part numbers should be ordered for meeting place and Webex?
    - CUWL-Pro comes with Webex ports included, can use those ports?
    Thanks in advance..

    Hi Anand,
For MP 8.5 new setup, you don't need a web server. Web server is an optional component only when you are upgrading the system from earlier MP releases.
If you are installing Webex node, it needs to be on a seperate MCS server (however, this is an optional component).
Application server and Express Media Server require only one UCS server if this is single node deployment.
Hardware requirements for application server and Webex node can be found in the following documents:
    http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Cisco_Unified_MeetingPlace_Release_8.5_--_Hardware_Requirements#Application_Server_Requirements

    Hi,
This page should show you the default info for accessing the Belkin
    http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Belkin/F5D8231-4/iChat.ht m
It should not need the Port Forwarding (I Believe UPnP is in System Settings at the bottom of the menu on the left)
Also check the settings in the various menus for Blocking responses to Internet Pings.
If it has it you want to disable this.
Error 7 is also caused by DOS or SPI filters.
If this device has these it should be turned off.
I tested with someone only yesterday that had one of these and it worked out of the box (well he only turned UPnP on)

  • Cisco Unity Connection 8.6 problem with greeting upload

    Hello at all,
i have a realy strange Problem.
I want to upload a Greeting (*.wav-file) to a Call Handler, everything looks fine after uploading and i can also hear (Playback) the massage on the Computer and on my Phone. So i save the Config. After that i want to hear the massage after calling the Call Handler but i hear only "sorry, "CallHandlerName" is not Awailable".
If i make some checks everything looks ok, i have 2 User with sysadmin-role - both can Playback the massage via the Webpage.
But if i take the Phone and call the "Greetings Administrator" - there is no personal Greeting on this Call Handler - and thats my Problem.
If i Record a new massage with the Phone (in the Greeting Admin) it is working - after Uploading a new File (Codec is ok) i can Playback the new file but after Calling the CH, i hear the Massage which i have recordet with the Phone - not the Uploadet. But on the Webpage i hear the Uploadet file.....
    Whats wrong????
And yes, i have set this 2 Users as Call Handler Owner.
    What should i do??
Please can anyone help me in this case.....
    kind regards
    Markus
EDIT: I have also the Problem, that i can´t upload a File for a User - only the User self can Upload a Greeting, if do this with one of the 2 Admin-Accounts i hear also the System-Massage "sorry, -USERNAME- is not awailaible" and not the uploadet file - at the Webpage i hear the uploadet Massage - it seems to be the same Prob as with the CallHandler. Is it a JAVA-Problem mabye? I have Java JRE Version7 update7 installed and IE8 as Browser....
Certificate is installed, and the CUC is a trusted site......

    Hi Markus,
    It could be this bug;
CSCto92753 - Unable to upload wav files and save as greeting or send as message
    Description
    Symptom:
Unable to upload an  existing wav file, or create a new recording using the PC microphone and  save as greeting, voice name, or send as message. In the case of trying  to send as a message, the user receives a "Failed to Send Message"  error.
You might see Failed to Record Name if attempting to overwrite a Call Handler with a file.
You might also see Unable to save recording due to SSL certificate error.
    Conditions:
    Cisco Unity Connection versions 7.1(5)ES45, 8.0(3)ES27, 8.5(1)ES37
When  using either the Cisco Unity Connection Administration (CUCA) or the  Cisco Unity Connection Personal Communications Assistant (PCA) web  applications to upload an existing wav file, or create a new recording  using the PC microphone and save as a voice name, greeting, or send as a  message.
In the client side Java Console logs, you see the following exception:
Exception  in thread "Timeout guard" java.security.AccessControlException: access  denied (java.net.SocketPermission 10.93.231.234:8443 connect, resolve)
    Workaround:
In  your client side JRE security profile file....commonly named:   java.policy...add the below entry.  Will need to use the ipaddress of  the Connection server (for a cluster, put an entry for each of publisher  and subscriber).
    permission java.net.SocketPermission "10.93.237.101:8443", "connect,resolve";
If  get a permission error when trying to modify java.policy, then you may  need to set the permissions of the file to not inhearent permissions  from it's parent and not be read-only.  (aka by default the entire JRE  folder is read-only but you need to modify a file within it).
A good  article on the Sun website with more detail on the workaround:   http://java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/Programming/JDCBook/appA.html

  • Cisco ASA 5505 Reset-I Problem with TCP State Bypass

    Hello,
I have a Cisco ASA 5505 that functions as my primary firewall and a Mitel 5000 controller behind it. I have two external phone users that have been connecting through the firewall with no issues for six months until about two weeks ago. I am now seeing the following log entry on the phone trying to connect to the Mitel Controller.
    6
    May 16 2014
    14:52:52
    302014
    72.135.115.37

    192.168.20.2
    6801
    Teardown TCP connection 1203584 for outside:72.135.115.37/6915 to inside:192.168.20.2/6801 duration 0:00:00 bytes 0 TCP Reset-I
My phones are designed to work with the Mitel 5000 and Mitel 3300 phone controllers. The 5000 will only use port 6800 for call control, while the 3300 will use 6801 (Secured Minet), 6802 (Minet SSH), and if those fail, port 6800 (Minet Unsecured). When the phones initiate a connection, they try 6801 first. If 6801 is unavailable, the phone controller adds the RST flag to the ACK packet. When the phone sees the RST flag, it is supposed to reset and use the next port (6802). The same process happens again for port 6802, then the phone knows to try 6800. The problem is that the ASA sees the RST flag now and terminates the connection at the firewall. Therefore, the phones never see the RST flag, and continue to try the connection with port 6801.
I have tried to use the TCP State Bypass feature to correct the situation, but the log shows that the connection is still being terminated immediately by the firewall. I am a novice when it comes to configuring the ASA. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as the company that I bought the phone system from is out of troubleshooting options. I do not think that I have made any changes to the firewall around this time. I have packet captures and logs from my ASA and I have wireshark data on the inside of my network. I need to figure out how to configure the ASA so that it ignores the RST flag and sends the packet back to the source.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks Rizwan,

  • IDX2 Communication Error - Problem with only 1 IDoc Type

Trying to import metadata via IDX2.  All IDoc types have imported succesfully, except DELVRY03.
I get a message saying "Communication Error" Message #: IDOC_METADATA407.
I have tried DELVRY01 and it imports fine.  But, DELVRY02 and DELVRY03 both give the "Communication Error" messages.
Any ideas why this one particular type will not import?  Settings/logon have not changed.
    Thanks

FYI, Update... I think I may be on to something here...
All checks in WE30 return okay.
I debugged the IDX2 program, error is occuring in the 'IDOCTYPE_READ_COMPLETE' function call.  It is returning with message: 'Structure of segment E1EDD10 is unknown'.  Did search on this in OSS and found note #491264 -- Output of IDoc DELVRY02/DELVRY03 does not work

Still working through the note to see if this will fix the issue, but I just tried to import in SHPMNT03 and I get the same error.

  • Problem with ESSO: Share credential

I'm using ESSO ver. 10.1.4.0.4 to do Single Sign-On with 2 in-house client-server applications that authenticate with SQL Server user on the same SQL Server (Version 7) . That's mean these 2 applications use the same username/password. These applications contain change password feature so if user change password in one application the other has to remember this new password also.
So I use the share credential feature of ESSO. Trying to carefully look at the maual but that's not seem to work. Has anyone have successed to use this feature? How you make it? Do you have a trick or some workaround?
Thank you for any coming advice.

You have that enable Credential Sharing Group doing the following steps:

My Customer today have CUOM 2.3 and CUCM 7.1.3. He is planning to do upgrade CUOM 8.6 and CUCM 8.6. My question is: Is it possible to do upgrade CUOM directly to 8.6? If CUOM to be upgraded to 8.X do we need to purchase the upgrade license?
    Thanks,
    Wilson

I don't think you can install on top of CUOM 2.3, a CUOM 8.X. Not even a 8.0
As said, you can restore a CUOM 2.3 backup on an 8.X.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_unified_operations_manager/8.5/installation/guide/install.html#wp1054045
As far as I can see after CUOM 8.5 the 2.3 migration path is no longer mentioned.
    Cheers,
    Michel

  • Cisco Unified Mobile Communicator

Quick question on this product. We have heard there will be support for Windows Mobile handsets. So far all we've seen is Blackberry and Symbian support. Is Windows Mobile support still planned. If so, when?
    -Mike

To add to this question, are there any other mobile platforms (e.g. PalmOS-based Treos) under consideration?

  • Problem with Cisco CP-7821 Italian locale installer...

    Hi,
I've tried to install file "po-locale-it_IT-10.1.1.1000-1.cop.sgn" into UCM 8.5.1 for adding italian support for new phone 7821.
This phone works properly, previouv we have installed last device package ( actuall firmware was cmterm-78xx.10-1-1-9.cop.sgn)
    and reload UCM.
When we tried to install file into OS admin-> software upgrade this file report "
Major and minor version numbers obtained from the name do NOT match those of the current version"
We can't select into Network locale and/or Network Locale "italiano" but only "english".
Other phone works with italian language.
    Can you help me?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
The reason why you are only getting English as locale because "po-locale-it_IT-10.1.1.1000-1.cop.sgn" supports 7821SIP not SCCP.
Details from readme of this firmware version.

  • Problem with cisco series 800 router and SMTP

    Hello,
we bought a 877 cisco router and have some problem with SMTP.
I try to read all forum and KB about but do not find any solution.
the problem is that when i try to send any email from client (windows mail) i receive a error 533: you need to supply the correct username and password.
when trying throught hmailserver i receive an email "undeliverable" with this error in body:
    Error Type: SMTP
Remote server (62.149.128.202) issued an error.
    hMailServer sent: EHLO Globalnet
Remote server replied: 502 unimplemented (#5.5.1)
    receving email work correctly.
i'm already using smtp auth, and with my old router everything work fine.
so i beleive is a config problem, maybe with ESMTP (ehlo)?.
    i attach my config:

    Dear sirs
Thank you for answer so quickly
I download this document from Cisco “Configuring the (Remote) Common Application Programming Interface for Cisco 800 Series Router”.
I have a Lan with Asterisk IP-PBX , the Cisco router have a BRI to public exchange (ISDN) , the router act like a DCP (ISDN- Device Control Protocol) server and listen (DCP messages) in 2578 port.
I need o know the contents of the TCP frame that carry (ISDN-TCP, the DCP messages) to put a SIP client to talk with PSTN/ISDN using the router. I want to write a software module in Asterisk that translate SIP in (ISDN-DCP) to connect the SIP Phones to the PSTN/ISDN using the BRI ports of the Cisco router. I need to now the contents of this message to dialogue with RCAPI server of the router.
If forum is the right place perhaps to put this, Could you give me a better place, a mail or other forum to receive the speciation of (ISDN-DCP)
    thank you
    With kinds Regards

    Hi Anurag,
    Thanks for your questions.
1:Is there change in DB architecture as CUIC is the only option as compared to previous linux version UCCX ?
I assume this is from the tables regarding historical data. The database schema essentially remains the same since UCCX 9.0 had CUIC too and we had a seperate DB Space for CUIC and we still continue with that. The traditional historical tables remain and the replication process remains the same too.
2:Is there any version change for Linux OS used as VOS,
The Linux version is Red Hat Linux 5. To be precise:
    [root@uccx10pub /]# cat etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.7 (Tikanga)
3:Is there any API architecture change in UCCX 10 from previous releases ?
I can answer this more of an overview. The only enhancement in the API side is the introduction of REST API step in the script editor. You can now make REST calls from the script and this ofcourse opens up a whole new world of possiblities.
4:Since from UCCX 10 , we can only use either CAD or Finnesse at one  time, whats the impact of changing this after some time in production,  let say , i used CAD for 2 months and then i decided to move to Finesse,  whats the impact ? or is it a smooth change as switching CUIC and HRC  in previoius release ?
For the scenario you mentioned, there is absolutely no problem. The point to note is that the Finesse services are activated/deactivated but the CAD desktop services are ALWAYS running. The only condition to keep in mind is that you can use ONLY ONE type of agent desktop at any time.  Also if Finesse is not used and CAD operations are used extensively, it is advisable to shutdown the Finesse service.
5:Is 3rd Party UCS hardware supported by UCCX 10 instead of using Cisco manufactured UCS , can i use HP hardware for Virtualisation ?
Yes, it can be used. This is something called as "Third party specs based specification". The most important things seen for compatibility are:
    Inter CPU Model
It it is on thVMWare Hardware Compatibilty List
You can get more information about this on the "Can I use this server?" section of UC Virtualized Hardware page:
    http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/UC_Virtualization_Supported_Hardware#.22Can_I_use_this_server.3F.22
    6:Is Host name change supported?
Yes, the hostname change is supported. The prcocedure is documented in the UCCX 10.0 Administration Guide:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_10_0/configuration/guide/UCCX_BK_W1AF9DDD_00_uccx-admin-guide-10.0.pdf (Pg 168)
