Cisco Unified Presence 8.5 High Availability problem

As we have two Cisco presence version 8.5 node as subcluster and configure as High Availability in a Subcluster . Once i click enable HA on the
presence server . its give the below messages as meniton
Primary server :
node state  : Running in backup mode
node reason : peer down during initialization
Seconary server :
node state : unknown
node  reason : High Availability not enabled.
Even All the service are up and running.
So please advice hightly appreciate for you response.

Hi,
Are both the CUP servers in different subnets/networks? If yes, then there is a setting under cluster topology page that has to be modified. It must be in Settings under cluster topology page. The default parameter will be 'MDNS'. This has to be changed to 'Router to Router' if the servers are in different subnets.

  • Cisco unified presence error

Hi, first at all i want to say that this is the first time that i have to troubleshoot a cisco unified presence error,
ok, there is a customer experiencing problems with his cisco unified personal communicators, none of the appear registered on the call manager
I tried restarting the services in the unified presence server and no result.
I used rtmt and i found out that last night Sync Agent App stopped
: Jul 20 06:31:10.982 UTC : %CCM_SERVICEMANAGER-GENERIC-6-ServiceStopped: Service stopped. Service Name:Cisco UP Sync Agent App ID:Cisco Service Manager Cluster ID: Node ID:CUP-SKARA
and after that is trying to log in somewhere with no result
    : failed dev=ttyS0, pid=18620, login time out
I belive that is trying to log in with and active directory.
where can i found where is trying to log in, or where is asking me for a unser or password to log in?
    thanks in advance.
    Cesar

SyncAgent needs to be running to synchronize user information from CUCM.
User ID and password would be the CUCM username and password.  You may test it with "User Options" page.

  • Upgrade Cisco Unified Presence 8.5 to 9.1.1

    dears,
I have cisco unified  presence 8.5 installed on UCS server and i need to upgreade it to 9.1.1
I will upgrade the cucm and unity connection to 9.1.1
Please advise what are the steps to upgrade the presence to 9.1.1?
    Best Reagrds,
    Haytham

    Hi Haytham,
Supported Upgrade Paths from IM Installation Instructions
    and Presence Service.
Upgrades from Release 8.0(1) through 8.6(1) to Release 9.1(1) require
a Refresh Upgrade using the ciscocm.cup.refresh_upgrade_v1.01.cop.sgn
    file.
Upgrades from Release 8.6(2) and 8.6(3) to Release 9.1(1) require a
    Refresh Upgrade only.
Upgrades from Release 8.6(4), 8.6(5), and Release 9.0(1) to Release
9.1(1) require a Standard Upgrade only.
For more information about Refresh Upgrades and Standard
Upgrades, see the Upgrade Guide for Cisco Unified
    Communications Manager, Release 9.1(1).
    Note
Perform these steps to proceed with the upgrade:
    1 Go to http://www.cisco.com/cisco/software/navigator.html.
2 Navigate to Products > Voice and Unified Communications >
Unified Communications Applications > Cisco Unified Presence
    > Cisco Unified Communications Manager IM and Presence
Service Version 9.1 > Unified Presence Server (CUP)
    Updates-9.1(1).
3 Download the complete ISO file:
    UCSInstall_CUP_9.1.1.10000-8.sgn.iso
    Release 8.0(1) through 8.6(x) and
    Release 9.0(1) to 9.1(1)
Direct upgrades from Cisco Unified Presence Release 6.0(x) to Release 9.1(1) are not supported. You
must first upgrade to at least Release 8.0(1) of Cisco Unified Presence. For more information about
upgrading to Cisco Unified Presence Release 8.x, see the Release Notes for Cisco Unified Presence here
    on Cisco.com: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6837/prod_release_notes_list.html.
    Note
    Upgrade from Cisco.com
Cisco does not support downloading major IM and Presence Service software releases from Cisco.com, for
example, IM and Presence Service Release 9.0(1). You can download upgrade-only software images from
Cisco.com that are used to upgrade from a previous major software release to a subsequent software maintenance
release or point release of IM and Presence. For example, you can download Cisco Unified Presence Release
8.0(2) or Cisco Unified Presence Release 8.6(1) from Cisco.com.
To download this software, go to http://tools.cisco.com/support/downloads/go/Redirect.x?mdfid=278875240.
You must have an account on Cisco.com to access the Software Center. The images posted at the Software
Center require existing installations of IM and Presence.

  • Cisco Unified Presence and Cisco CCX Integration.

    Hi,
Please suggest how to integrate Cisco Unified Presence with Cisco UCCX. What are the configuration are to be done on Cisco Unified Presence and CCX.
    Any good documents..
    Appreciate your response.
    Regards,
    Manish.

    Hi,
The easiest thing to do is get CUPC working with the agent's credentials. Once that is working, you know that the CUPS piece is right. The document supplied previously shows the very limited CAD configuration that is required. This should go fine once you get CUPC working with the agent's information.
Keep in mind that CUPC is not the same as CAD and there are important differences:
    1. You need to add an Inbound ACL to the CUPS server to allow connections from the CAD PCs as CAD does not support Message Digest as CUPC does. This is CSCtb50109.
    2. CAD does not escape special characters in the password, so use a password without special characters. This is

  • Cisco unified presence IM

    Dear All
i have question regarding im in cisco unified personal communicator i have confused case ,,, i have no ldp integration just added some users on call manager and when i login with cupc , must i add contacts manually and i cannt see status of users and also IM is not active i dont know why any one could reply about this problem , i have CCM7 and CUPS 7
everything wokrs fine Desktop and softfone just i need IM
i made IM service point to CUPS from CCM and subscribe all users phones but also when adding any users just tell me must be duplicate or not valid or maximum number exceeds i dont know why although no any contacts added to the list ????
and how CUPC IM works ??

JM table is the one that will have all the IM message (compliance) and Persistent Chat Room messages (if configured). If that table is not populated, there are configuration issue in PostGre.
Duplicate entries are due to one message going out from IM&P Server and another one coming in. This is ok and normal. You can try un-checking the checkbox for "Enable Outbound Message Logging" IM&P Server compliance settings - if it makes any difference

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1 High availability Question

    Hello All,
I am configuring high availability for two prime infrastructure 2.1 servers. I have configured manual HA between the servers. I need to know what will be the configuration in the devices ( switches, routers etc.) for proper working of the HA. For example
Should we need to configure both the prime infra servers as snmp hosts in the devices??. If we have to when an event happens the switch well unnecessarily send the traps to the secondary even when the primary is alive??.
If anyone has a copy of the configuration of such a set up please share it with me.
    Thanks and Regards
    Shabeeb

    Hi Shabeeb,
You are correct on that part that unnecessarily devices will  try to send traps to the secondary server if you specify that in the device's config. I don't think it should be a concern , this is expected.
otherwise you need to configure them later once the PI server fail over to secondary .
If you have any other doubt ,kindly ask.
    Thanks-
    Afroz

  • TREX 7.0 TREXISAPIEXT.dll high availability problem.

    EP6.0.11/14
    TREX7.0
Trying to configure EP with a Distributed TREX. Got 2 TREX 7.0 servers each with http (application pool).  If I have both application pools up, trex monitor in EP will drop indexserver and queueserver and indexing/searching is not possible. However, if only one of the application pool is up TREX monitors shows healthy queueserver and indexserver.
TREX administrator doesn't have any issues though.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Cisco Unified Presence IM compliance database - duplicate entries

I recently setup PostgreSQL for the IM compliance feature.  I noticed in the "JM" table, where all IM messages are stored, there are some duplicate/double entries.  Is this normal or am I missing some settings/configuration?

JM table is the one that will have all the IM message (compliance) and Persistent Chat Room messages (if configured). If that table is not populated, there are configuration issue in PostGre.
Duplicate entries are due to one message going out from IM&P Server and another one coming in. This is ok and normal. You can try un-checking the checkbox for "Enable Outbound Message Logging" IM&P Server compliance settings - if it makes any difference

  • Cisco Unifed Presence Current Status is stuck in Offline

I have a very unusual issue with Presence. This is for a new deployment for Cisco Unified Communication Manager (Version 7.0.2.10000-18) and Cisco Unified Presence (System version: 7.0.3.10000-63).
Currently, CUCM is not integrated with AD, while Presence has a gateway for AD.
While onsite doing the install, I created a test ID on CUCM and AD. My test ID works great and I can change my status, etc. I can also add my test ID as a contact and can see the status in the contact list as well with no issues.
Now for the problem... When I add an existing user to CUCM and CUP, I can log into CUPC and see and change the users status. I can log in and out of CUPC with no issues. Once that user is added into a conact list, their status will stop working, can not be changed and is stuck in "off line". Oddly enough, the contact list will show available.
    Here is an example:
User "Steve" is added to CUP. Steve can log in and out and change his status. While logged in, Steve adds himself to his own contact list. Steve is able to change and see his status with no issue. Once Steve logs out and back into CUPC, he can no longer change his status.
I have all in and out ACL's set up to allow ALL, but still not luck. Very odd and I have Cisco TAC stumped as well.
    Any suggestions would be helpful!
    Thanks
    Keith

    Keith,
Can you confirm the following, for an existing user, eg. Steve, is the userid, firstname, lastname and telephone number in AD and CUCM the same. If these are not same you could come across some issues. I would recommend you normalize that first.
Now, if all that is fine, need to verify if this issue is happening with existing users only and if so does it happen when they add themselves to their buddy list or happens if they have someone else in their buddy list.
example, if Steve logs in and has Bob in his CUPC buddy list. Can Steve change has status and does Bob see Steve's status?
Also, when Steve has added himself to his buddy list, you say that you cannot change the status of CUPC, but does the CUPC show Steve as available or offline?
If CUPC shows as offline but in the buddy list the user himself shows as available its possibly some issue on CUPC.
Basically, CUPC status is a 2 step process. When the user logs in the client, CUPC sends a msg to server, CUPS to register and then send its status, offline, busy, available, etc. Along with the login process, the client also requests info on status of its buddy list users.
What I am getting at is that status of client and of users in buddy list are sent by CUPS in 2 different SIP messages. Its possible the client is receiving the msg from CUPS for the status of the users in the buddy list but not the msg for the status of the client itself.
Will need to look at traces from the CUPC and presence engine and sip proxy traces from CUPS.
    Thanks,

  • Wism2 in High Availability - FUS Upgrade

    Hello all,
what is the procedure to be followed when upgrading the FUS on a WISM-2 in HA cluster?
Is it the same procedure that applies when upgrading the wism's code in HA?
    Thank you
    Edited:
The procedure is exactly the same as upgrading. First upgrade the image and then FUS.make sure that you are connected using console connection and definitely perform this within a maintenance window of at least 1 hour.

    Hi,
    Thanks for sharing this info.
Snipped from this guide also explains how its done:
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12190806/wism2-high-availability-fus-upgrade
The FUS image can be upgraded while the controllers have HA enabled. The secondary controller will
get upgraded just like it does when upgrading the regular code. However, when you initiate the reboot
on the primary controller both controllers will be unreachable until the FUS upgrade completes on both
the active and the standby in the HA pair. This process will take around 30 to 40 minutes to complete
just like in a non-HA FUS upgrade.

  • Generating license for ISE high availability primary/secondary nodes

We have two ISE servers that will act as primary/secondary in a high availability setup.
The ISE 1.0.4 installation guide, page 93, mentions that "If you have two Cisco ISE nodes configured for high availability, then you must include both the primary and secondary Administration ISE node hardware and IDs in the license file."
However, after entering the PAK in the licensing page, the only required fields are:
    - Primary Product ID
    - Primary Version ID
    - Primary Serial No
In this case, how can i include both primary and secondry HW and IDs?
    Thanks in advance.

I am refering you a Cisco ISE Nodes for High Availability configuration guide, Please check:

  • Ccx 7.x and Unified Presence

When these two applications exist within the enterprise telephony environment are they distinctly seperate or are they integrated womewhat?
Just want to understand if there is integration betweeen the applications or do they stand alone.
    Thanks,
    Paul.

    Hi Paul,
UCCX CAD client is the software used by the Contact Center Agents.
CUPC is the client used with CUPS server.
These two client applications are different from one another.
You can integrate UCCX with CUPS server, for Agents (CAD) and Supervisors (CSD) for contacting the SME (Subject matter Experts) who will be using the CUPC clients.
Please refer the section "Configuring the Cisco Unified Presence Cluster" from page 169 onwards in the below link,
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_7_0/user/guide/cda66ug-cm.pdf
Also refer the below UCCX comp matrix for the UCCX and CUPS compatiability,
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_compatibility/matrix/crscomtx.pdf
    Hope it helps.
